No free water in rooms but restaurant and gym is stocked.

The hospitality from all the team members (Tercellle, Juliana, and Adonis to name a few) were above and beyond. They felt like they were here on my journey with me. Whatever I needed, was taken care of, plus plus. For being a swanky spot, they made it warm and inviting. I generally stay across the street for work trips but thought I would try something new, I am so glad I did. Super quiet for being such a large and popular spot. Location could not be better. And the rooms were thoughtful in their design. Thank you to everyone who was part of my week!

Views of Empire State Building from the room can’t be beat. Price is comparable to many of the hotels in the area. Vibe is cool with great atmosphere at night.

The hotel offered a wide range of food options and attractions within walking distance. Our experience at the hotel was exceptional. From check-in to check-out, we received outstanding service. Mr. Bellman and the rest of the team went above and beyond to assist us, even offering services that we weren’t aware of when booking. While I didn’t have the chance to try the restaurants or bars, I did enjoy two delicious breakfasts during my stay. The room service was phenomenal and the staff was always respectful of our space.

- Bodelicious (8/5): Clean and stylish - The Virgin Hotel in NYC is a clean and stylish hotel in a central location in Manhattan. We enjoyed our stay and had great service at the hotel bars and restaurants. Not 5 stars, though. In general, I am not a fan of destination dispatch elevators. The elevator process at the Virgin can be stressful the first several times you use it. The touchscreen is difficult to navigate and it is not intuitive where to scan the key card. The only other negative is timing of room housekeeping. We generally like to rest and shower between our daytime and nighttime activities. Most afternoons, when we returned to our room around 3:00, our room had not been serviced yet. So we ended up killing time somewhere else in the hotel when we would rather be resting in our room.

We were initially pleased with the staff on check in, they seemed friendly and helpful. We were disturbed multiple times in the night by a man saying a smoke detector was activated over a tannoy in the room. No one had told us that this was the fire protocol, and no one told us that there was a tannoy in our room. As two young girls, you can imagine how scary it was to hear a random man shouting over a tannoy in the middle of night. It completely disrupted our entire stay. They staff seemed completely unbothered when we told them that it might be an idea to let guests know on check in a brief overview of the tannoy system or even have it on a welcome note in the room. It made us uneasy and made sleeping difficult the entire stay since we were completely on edge. I’d be hesitant to stay here again to be honest, the staff weren’t proactive in dealing with any of our concerns.

I wanted to surprise my mom for her 60th birthday, and Darnell and Carla helped me plot an outstanding welcome for my mother’s stay at the New York location. They helped me with less than 24 hours notice. Everything was communicated simply, clearly, directly, and quickly. I felt confident that I was being taken care of. The rooms we booked were clean, and the front desk staff accommodated every little request that popped up when we checked in. Liz recommended great food. The atmosphere is so fun and cool. The location is hard to beat, and oddly immune to noise even in midtown. We were on the 29th floor, but I heard no noise or commotion from any other part of the hotel either. All in all an A+ experience, and for what we paid, a great deal.

Everdeen restaurant was a little worn. Staff there very nice but it was $$ for quality of the food. I was upset that hotel didn’t have umbrellas for guests to use. We had a day of torrential rain and although we had raincoats we needed more. Only umbrellas available were for purchase.

- Sevda (10/5): Die schönste Aussicht auf New York! - In diesem Hotel hat man wirklich die schönste Aussicht auf Nomad und das Empire State Building vom Bett aus. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen, genau nach so einer Aussicht habe ich gesucht. Das Zimmer wurde jeden Tag schön aufgeräumt und man hat sich auch sicher gefühlt. Besonders toll war, dass es im Zimmer abgetrennt einen Eingangsbereich mit Kleiderschränken, Waschbecken und Schminktisch gab. Man hatte also sehr, sehr viel Platz, und die Toilette und Dusche waren auch abgetrennt. Dann im Schlafzimmer selber hat man auch genug Platz. Das Personal war sehr nett! Beim Check-in und Check-out habe ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Die vorherigen negativen Bewertungen von anderen über das Personal kann ich überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Nur eine Kleinigkeit: eine Ablage/Becher für die Zahnbürste wäre toll und Slipper :)

The restaurant in the hotel took my order and knew that I was in a hurry and then it took ages and ages and required me to speak to 3 different staff members to realize the order was never placed with the kitchen, and that the staff had been deflecting taking responsibility for never submitting the order. The hotel also does not have room service during the day. I ultimately resorted to crossing the street to get a pizza slice rather than deal with disaster of a restaurant. This is terrible customer service, and not what the Virgin brand stands for.
- 314longl (10/5): Great first vist - welcoming staff - Had an great first stay at the Virgin Hotel in NYC. The team handled my Chase Travel benefits perfectly and upgraded me to a room with a great view. The breakfast included in the package was a nice perk to wake up to in the morning and the bar on the 3rd floor was a great place to use our food and drink credits. Big shoutouts to Karma, the bellman, for his hospitality and attentive service from arrival to check-out. Took care of us and our bags and we felt very welcomed with him helping us at every step of the way.

Walking distance to fabulous restaurants- try the Markette if you haven’t yet- coffee shops, shopping. Staff is really the best part of this hotel. Can’t do enough for you and always with a smile. A standout was the bellman, Karma. Friendly and efficient. We’ll definitely be back!

From check-in to our trip back to the airport, everything was seamless, and the staff were professional and incredibly accommodating. They even arranged a ride for us, which made things so much easier. A special thank you to the bellman, who was exceptionally helpful, especially with our heavy luggage. We truly appreciated the support from the entire team. Our dog, Tori, also had a wonderful stay! Highly recommend for both families and furry friends!

- jt0423 (6/5): Great Hotel but not Accommodating - The hotel is nicely appointed and offered a decent experience overall. However, my experience with the check-out process was disappointing. I booked through The Edit (Chase Sapphire Reserve), which includes the benefit of a late check-out based on availability. When I checked in, I was told to call on the morning of my departure. I respected that it was subject to availability, but when I called that morning, I was told the hotel was at 100% occupancy and they could not accommodate even a 2:00 PM check-out. I even offered to move to a different room if it helped, but they remained firm. Out of curiosity, I checked the hotel’s direct website and several third-party sites, all of which showed multiple rooms available for booking that same day. Finding out the hotel wasn't actually 'booked solid' was extremely frustrating. It felt as though there was no genuine effort to honor the 'preferred' guest status associated with my booking. In my experience with other 4-star properties, 'at capacity' usually means no rooms are available online. Having a late flight, I had hoped for better service and transparency.

Tambien destacar que la ubicación es perfecta sobre todo siendo la primera vez que vas a Nueva York, ya que esta muy cerca de todo lo mas habitual para visitar. La habitación era amplia para ser la ciudad que es, pero se agradeceria un poco mas. Por nuestra parte no hay ninguna queja ya que los 10 dias que estuvimos fueron increíbles.

He was able to check us in early, let us know about all the Amex perks, and gave us coupons for the spa. It was the most pleasant experiences we have had in our 10 years of traveling. He made the stay so much more welcoming. The rest of the staff was so kind that they made sure to greet us. The room was comfortable and quiet. The included breakfast was so delicious that we kept going back for more!

- 396magdalenai (8/5): Amazing hotel and stay but didn’ received back the deposit. - I’ve stayed at Virgin Hotels (NYC) last year and I’ve tremendously enjoyed the view, the accomodies, the room, the rooftop bar, and everything else. Last year I had booked an empire state king room. The only problem is that it has been almost a year since that trip and I have still not recieved my deposit back. I’m planning to come back to New York for 7 days, from the 24th of april until the 1st of may, this year, and I’m planning to stay at your hotel again but I’m afraid to have the same problem with the deposit refund this time again. I’m from europe and I don’t have the energy to fight to get my money back when I get back home. I’ve read a lot of bad reviews about people having the same problem as me, as well as problems about double charging for the stay, and I want to know from the start how to avoid these problems. I am travelling with my nephews this time and I really want this trip to be a good experience for all of us. I would also like to know if there are any additional fees that I should be aware about? In the booking.com reservation that I have made, it is mentionned that tax, resort fee and city tax are included in the price. I have also read a lot of reviews that the AC is malfunctioning in many rooms. Is this problem solved now? I also read that many people who booked through booking.com had the unfortunate trouble of having their whole reservation cancelled upon arrival at your hotel. Can you please confirm that this will not happen to us? Also can you please let us know when the pool will be open. Thank you for your help, we are waiting to hear back from you.

Nous avons eu une chambre d’angle avec vue sur l’Empire State Building, et ce sont les plus belles vues que j’aie jamais vues de ma vie, on voit aussi Times Square. Il est proche de tout, à pied comme en métro. Le personnel est excellent et la chambre est vraiment, vraiment grande, ce qui est difficile à trouver à New York dans un hôtel avec vue. Elle comprend deux espaces, avec douche, dressing et coiffeuse, puis la chambre séparée. Il y a aussi un bar avec de magnifiques vues, une salle de sport, un spa et une piscine. Sans aucun doute, le meilleur hôtel de New York. Une fois, un voisin un peu fou s’est mis à crier dans le couloir et nous a réveillés à 2 heures du matin on l’entendait très fort, mais ce n’est pas la faute de l’hôtel.

- Rubinstein (8/5): Amazing location, very clean, very accommodating, professional and freindly staff with modern, clean rooms w/ an ama - The Staff were amazing, all the Amenities from restaurants, Bars, & pool to room-service -amazing . The Virgin Hotels location is Top Notch, we could almost touch the Empire State Building from our rooms. We got snowed in with flights cancelled and they easily booked a longer stay in the same rooms and managed to keep the original booking price. From checking-in at 10pm for the 2 Suites to having to change out checkout date due to a Snow Storm by 3 days & our new flight out of NYC was at 8pm and The Virgin gave us a late checkout at 2:30pm and stored our Suitcases until we left for the airport at 430. They were/are an amazing staff! The elevator situation is terrible. The only complaint from myself, my wife and the kids traveling w me is - THE ELEVATOR TECHNOLOGY IS TERRIBLE! You have to use your digital key, holding it under the wall mounted elevator touch screen tablet’s room card reader is flawed. With 6 elevators and 2 Elevator Tablet / Readers it is a mess. It’s almost hilarious to walk through the lobby which bottleneck’s at the end of the lobby where you must turn left where 6 elevators are. You immediately see a mountain of people waiting to get to an elevator tablet on the wall to get to their room but, for people that were just checking in and now going to their floor you watch them go through the confusion of how this works because you went through it yourself days earlier when you checked in and even once you think you got it down, Pat you still can sit in front of 6 elevators fighting a touch screen tablet holding your room card under the laser in 300000 different positions and sides trying to get an elevator to open! Going back down was easier lol! You just hit the L

- UCBS75 (9/5): Cooles, modernes Hotel in super Lage in Midtown! - Die Lage war für uns perfekt, fussläufig von Penn-Station, Empire State Building,... mitten in Midtown. Gute Anbindung an die U-Bahn. Familienzimmer war nicht riesig, aber groß genug für 2 Erwachsene und 2 Teenager mit Gepäck. Praktisch für die Nutzung zu viert war, dass es 2 Waschbecken im Flur/Eingangsbereich des Zimmers gab und Dusche und Toilette jeweils extra waren. Die Dusche lief nicht ab. Der Preis ist sehr hoch, aber den scheint man in New York über den Jahreswechsel bezahlen zu müssen. Wir waren mit zwei Teenager Töchtern zu viert in einem Familienzimmer im 10. Stock (die gibt es angeblich nur bis zum 10. Stock, wir hatten also Glück), aber an sich für ein Zimmer ohne Frühstück verrückt.

One night of our stay we couldn’t visit a bar in the hotel due to all areas holding external functions. Was very disappointed at this. This was one of the reasons we booked the hotel. No mini bar menu in room when we arrived. Cleaner missed to clean coffee cups and replenish coffee pods one day.

Zona ottima per spostarsi con due metro a pochi minuti a piedi Reception spartana e poco curata rispetto al resto dell’hotel . Faceva freddo nella reception infatti i receptionist avevano delle stufe accanto per riscaldarsi. Verso le tre di notte della penultima sera in questo hotel ,mentre stavo dormendo, parte una sirena fortissima nella mia stanza con una voce aggressiva in audio diffusione che mi dice che sto fumando nella stanza,mi intima di smettere e dice che dovrò pagare una penale …io che non ho mai fumato una sigaretta in vita mia. Stavo dormendo e sono saltata dal letto spaventata tanto che sirena e la voce erano forti. Mi sono affacciata nel corridoio e anche i signori della stanza accanto erano usciti fuori spaventati .Poco dopo il signore in altoparlante si scusa e dice che c’è stato un errore e ci augura la buonanotte . Assurdo!Non sono più riuscita a prendere sonno .

Gym was adequate. Room was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the view from the room as well. Check-in was the only downside. Took 5-10 minutes to check in.
- Karen (8/5): Perfect location! - The hotel was in an ideal location and we used that as the pivot point for our days out. Hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful - no negative experiences. The pool was a perfect addition and we spent the morning with a sunbathe and a swim. Food was delicious - we ate in the Everdene restaurant and everything was cooked to perfection; to top it off, the scenery of NY skyline was beautiful. I would definitely go back! The only thing which was a shame was that children were not able to use the pool after 11.30am. It would have been nice to come back from a day out and use the pool, especially as it was so hot. However, from an adult point of view, I would like to go back without the kids and enjoy the pool without children, so I do get it. Maybe allowing them to use the pool until 4/5 would be better and then leave to the adults for rest of the evening?
- Morelle (6/5): Hôtel correcte mais pas 5 étoiles - L’emplacement est génial, très pratique et central La vue de la chambre car, restant assez longtemps ( une dizaine de jours) a été surclassée vue empire state building. - sur une dizaine de jours notre chambre n’a pas été nettoyée, ni les lits changés à plusieurs reprises. Il n’y a pas de service l’après midi donc rien n’a pu être fait. Lorsque la chambre était refaite les tasses n’étaient pas nettoyées, ni rangées. Les dosettes de café n’était pas en place non plus, nous avons dû en demander chaque jour. Il y a une petite piscine à l’étage 4 de l hôtel. Il est tout à fait vrai que lors de la réservation, il est indiqué que la piscine n’est accessible à la clientèle de l’hôtel uniquement le matin avant 11h30. Ensuite il vous est gentiment demandé de partir car la piscine est réservée. Je vous conseille d’arriver tôt pour bénéficier d’un transat, ou de penser à augmenter votre budget (50€ par transat par après midi)

(Stuff happens) 2.False information provided by the valet — we were told that the $75 for valet parking included taxes, which it did not. 3.Paid an extra $140 on Booking.com for lunch and dinner, but at check-in we were told that meals were not included. Only $100 was refunded to the account. 4.Incorrect information was given about the dinner serving time. 5. Difficulty using the $100 dinner credit. The staff showed little willingness to assist, and only after my firm request was the food finally delivered to our room.
