Honestly, there was very little to complain about. Everything was well organized, clean, and comfortable.

- kazim (1/5): Disco night - Propere ruime kamer Kesinlikle gelmeyin. Güzel görünümlü ve temiz bir otel ama tam bir disko gibi. Sabahın erken saatlerine kadar insanın beynini yoran aşırı bir gürültü var. Her yarım saatte bir sert şekilde kapanan kapı sesleri duyuluyor. Resepsiyonu aradığımızda ise bizimle resmen dalga geçer gibi davrandılar. “Ses dışarıdan mı geliyor? Eğer dışarıdansa 122’yi arayalım” gibi anlamsız bir cevap verdiler. Çalışanların yaklaşımı son derece amatör ve saygısızdı. Bir daha asla uğramam, siz de tercih etmeyin.

Hotel ligt centraal en verbinding met luchthaven en andere delen van Istanbul was perfect! Receptionisten was enorm behulpzaam. (Dank aan Kerem voor zijn hulp en tips) Niets te melden

Le bruit infernal de la musique jusqu’à 2 heures du matin et le bruit des portes de chambres qui claquent sur tout l’étage. Le prix est excessif pour cette suite du 2ème étage. Peut-être qu’aux étages supérieurs, le bruit de la musique est moins dérangeant.

Schon beim Empfang fühlt man sich herzlich willkommen, das gesamte Team ist unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und bemüht. Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich top und perfekt, um Istanbul zu erkunden. Auch das Personal verdient ein großes Lob, man merkt, dass hier Gastfreundschaft großgeschrieben wird. - Prof. Falken (8/5): - Location is great, right at the end of the SAW Airport Metro and the Express Bus to IST is also very close. The area is great for eating and nightlife. But that comes with a price... My room was right above a music club with glass skylights and they played until the morning. Couldn't really sleep because it was as my bed was right in the club. The staff was very helpful giving me another room. this time headed toward the street and the harbor. There was still some bass and music hearable, but at least I managed to get some sleep.

- Just Yazz (7/5): Matige prijs-kwaliteitverhouding, maar prima voor kortverblijf. Ongeschikt voor prikkelgevoeligen. - De locatie is perfect, recht tegenover een metroingang en de veerboten. Ook heel gunstig ten opzichte van het centrum en het uitgaansleven. Ik verbleef in de economy eenpersoonskamer op de derde verdieping. Deze kamer was ruim van opzet, luxe en van alle gemakken voorzien. Pluspunt van deze kamer was de hygiëne! Genoemde kamer ligt aan de achterzijde van het hotel en grenst aan het uitgaansleven. Bij het inchecken vertelde de manager van het hotel me dat er ‘s avonds jazzmuziek gespeeld werd en gaf mij bij voorbaat al een paar oordopjes ter compensatie. De geluidsoverlast is echter zo heftig (keiharde rock- en discomuziek) dat je zelfs je eigen televisie niet kan verstaan als je op je kamer bent. Gelukkig ben ik niet iemand die slecht slaapt bij geluidsoverlast, maar wanneer je daar ook maar enigszins gevoelig voor bent, is dit hotel zeker niet aan te raden. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is hierdoor matig tot slecht te noemen. Na mijn tweede nacht duurde het erg lang voordat mijn kamer werd opgeruimd, ondanks dat ik daar om 9:00 uur ‘s ochtends al om gevraagd had.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Fragen zur Umgebung und den Transportmitteln wurden bestens erklärt. Die Personen Nage, Kerem, Enes, Baran, Baris, Ali und Mustafa waren wechselseitig Anwesend und halfen bestens bei allen Anliegen. Keine Beanstandungen
- Mahir (10/5): Ein Hotel wo man sich wohlfühlt - Weil die 3 Tage vorher so gut waren, habe ich meinen Kurzurlaub in Istanbul um einen Tag verlängert und bin natürlich im Dekalb Hotel geblieben. Es war ein wunderschöner letzter Tag in der King-Suite in Dekalb. Von der großen Terrasse kann man den Topkapı-Palast und die Hagia Sophia sehen. Es war für mich wirklich ein Erlebnis, morgens den Bosporus zu sehen. Ein wunderschönes Hotel, das ich jedem Istanbul-Urlauber empfehle. Viele Grüße an Herrn Oğuz, Kerem und die anderen tollen Mitarbeiter von Dekalb. Nix!

A ferry ride to tourist attractions, with a small city feel. Tastefully decorated hotel with comfortable bed,mini fridge and coffee machine.Luxurious feel. Can be noisy outside on the weekend. Kadikoy is party central on the weekends. Great selection of open air restaurants and bars.
- Mahir (10/5): Edles Hotel, wo man sich wie zu Hause fühlt. - Das Hotel befindet sich unmittelbar in der Nähe der Fähren in Kadıköy. Weil das Hotel so zentral liegt, sind die ganzen Geschäfte perfekt zu Fuß zu erreichen. Kadıköy ist ohnehin eine Stadt, in der man sehr viele verschiedene kulinarische Köstlichkeiten findet. Der Manager Herr Oğuz und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Man kann mit ihnen ohne Probleme auf Englisch, Deutsch oder Französisch kommunizieren. Das Hotel ist sehr edel eingerichtet und verfügt über eine ausgezeichnete Küche, wo man ohne Bedenken frühstücken oder zum Abend essen kann. Ich bin sehr positiv überrascht von diesem Hotel wo man so sich wie zu Hause fühlt und kann es jedem Istanbul-Urlauber empfehlen. Ich werde bestimmt wiederkommen. Danke an die Belegschaft und Herrn Oğuz. Es war alles Gut 👍🏻Es gibt nix zu beanstanden
- Amaeva (9/5): Приятный отель, в номере все необходимое, номера просторные. - Забронировала номер боз окон. Он большой, удобный, в нем все есть. Кроме окон.) Недооценила, что окна, все-таки, важны. Но, с другой стороны, спишь в полной темноте и никаких посторонних звуков с улицы. Но в следующий раз взяла бы номер с окном. Босфор - в 5 минутах ходьбы. До центра можно добраться на пароме. Паромы ходят часто. Персонал в отеле очень дружелюбный. Уборка в номере ежедневная. Никаких нареканий нет.

No earplugs provided or anything to mediate the issue. I can’t understate how loud this was.

- Ashley (9/5): Lovely property, lovely staff, lovely location! - The Dekalb Hotel is a great property in a superb location. I would recommend the Kadikoy neighborhood to anyone visiting Istanbul who isn’t afraid of using public transit. You are a short ferry ride or metro ride away from all the historical sites in Sultanahmet and it’s totally worth it to have an authentic and more affordable experience. The hotel was extremely clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated; however, what really stands out a part from the location is the warm and welcoming staff. Mohammet, Enes, and Kereem went above and beyond to help me navigate public transit- even walking me to the bus stop so I didn’t get lost. Most importantly, I enjoyed many lively conversations with them, making my stay extra memorable. As a solo female traveler, I was especially grateful for their warm and friendly disposition and looked forward to seeing them in the mornings and evenings in between sight seeing. This hotel is excellent bang for your buck with wonderful staff in a perfect location right across the street from the ferry and metro stop. You can’t ask for anything better! Very minor but just fyi, you can hear live music playing somewhat loudly from your room as you’re close to some bars. I easily fell asleep but you may want to bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper.

Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das unglaublich freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal – man fühlt sich hier wirklich willkommen! Ein ganz besonderer Dank geht an Oğuz Bey, Emre, Baris, Nagehan, Kerem, Enes und Mustafa für ihren großartigen Service und ihre Herzlichkeit. Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt sehr genossen, komme definitiv wieder und kann das Hotel absolut weiterempfehlen!

- Hannah (1/5): Completely unacceptable as noted by Bioking.com - Comfortable and clean room in a good location, however because of my negative experience with staff, I do not recommend. On my last night after 9 days here at this hotel, I was working late and ordered food delivery around 10pm. I had an incident the night before and did not want to walk at night. I was refused the food delivery and told to eat outside in the rain — in 8-degree weather — because the desk attendant and hotel manager claimed food delivery was not allowed at risk of fines by the municipality. I found no credible sources of such rule and this was not communicated at check in or in the house rules and the next day, another female staff member said it is because they have a restaurant on site. I stood outside of the hotel in the cold and rain late at night for my meal. But the larger disappointment was the lack of basic humanity and instead a robotic response of "it is not allowed". Absolutely shocking given what I have experienced many times of warm Turkish hospitality. I've been to Istanbul many times and this is my only negative hotel experience. I filed a complaint with Booking.com. See the attached screenshot for their response — they called it "completely unacceptable," and escalated it to the hotel. When a third-party platform has a stronger sense of guest welfare than the hotel itself, that tells you everything.

Also cleaning staff began vacuuming the adjacent room at around 8:50 a.m., which disrupted our rest. We had specifically come here to recover and sleep after a cancelled trip, but the lack of quiet made that difficult.
