• Kristóf (1/5): Legrosszabb szálláshely amin valaha voltam. - Semmi nem tetszett, senki ne jöjjön ide, ha fizetnek érte akkor se. Hatalmas szerencse, hogy épp bőrrel megúsztuk és nem tűnt el semmink. Senkinek nem ajánlom, aki kultúrált, csendes és elfogadható körülmények között szeretne megszállni. A környék borzalmas, egyedül annyi előnye van, hogy kb 15 perc a Liverpool Street, ahonnan aztán lehet menni bármerre, a hölgyek egyedül napközben ,de főleg este kerüljék a környéket. A bejárat egy szűk folyosón vezetett a "recepcióhoz". A szobákban nincs WC és zuhanyzó sem, a közös fürdőszobák szutykosak voltak, WC papír és elegendő víznyomás nélkül. A "reggeli" úgy nézett ki, hogy a putri konyhába le volt téve az asztalra egy csomag kenyér és 6 banán. A hűtőben pár db jam és mogyoróvaj (jó étvágyat hozzá :D -idéztem a recepciós csávót, akit egyébként a 3 éjszaka alatt egyszer láttunk a becsekkolás után). A szobában az ablakot nem lehetett kinyitni, de a folyosóról minden zaj beszűrődött. Első reggelen, amikor kijöttem a szobából 2 rendőr jött szembe. Állítólag egy - elég erőteljesen vendégmunkásnak kinéző - közpékorú csávó hívta ki, aki bár beszélt angolul, de amit mondott egy szót sem értettem belőle. A rendőröknek azt mondta, hogy betörtek hozzá, viszont őt bilincselték meg, de aztán a szálláson maradt. Eközben egy szállodai munkás sem volt sehol. Először én azt hittem, hogy egy ott dolgozó, mert amikor megérkeztünk, porszívózott a folyosón. Utána eltűnt. Fotót sajnos nem készítettem, nehogy meglássák, milyen telefonom van.

• Joel (10/5): Great place for the money - Nice location near Shadwell station, though I usually walk into work by St Paul's from here as there's plenty to see on the way. The staff are really nice and friendly, and I've never struggled to get in the shared bathroom when I've needed to. There's a well equipped kitchen too which is really useful. The decor is an acquired taste but you can hardly expect The Ritz at this price 😂

• Cordula (8/5): Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, mag aber für anspruchsvollere Gäste nicht das richtige sein. - Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zutaten für das Frühstück standen in der Küche bereit und wir konnten es uns ganz nach unserem Geschmack selbst zubereiten. Das einzige, was nicht so gut ist, ist das Gemeinschaftsbad. Dadurch muss man sehr viel Rücksicht auf die anderen Gäste nehmen und es kann sein, dass man ein bisschen warten muss, bis man das Bad benutzen kann.

• Tobias (3/5): Nicht empfehlenswert – enttäuschender Aufenthalt - Ich war leider sehr enttäuscht von meinem Aufenthalt. Die Sauberkeit ließ stark zu wünschen übrig – das Zimmer war nicht gründlich gereinigt und wirkte insgesamt ungepflegt. Die Betten waren durchgelegen und extrem unbequem, was erholsamen Schlaf praktisch unmöglich machte. Das Badezimmer ist ein Gemeinschaft Bad was sehr oft belegt ist. Auch das Frühstück war enttäuschend: wenig Auswahl, lieblos präsentiert und qualitativ unter dem Standard, den man selbst bei einem günstigen Aufenthalt erwarten würde. Die Rezeption war ein kleiner Holz Tisch wo der Betreiber auf einen Plastik Sessel saß. Die Eingangstür war nicht leicht zu finden und bei unserer Ankunft auch verschlossen. Auch nach mehrmaligem Anrufen und Nachrichten schreiben öffnete uns die Tür keiner. Für den gezahlten Preis hatte ich deutlich mehr erwartet. Ich kann diese Unterkunft leider nicht empfehlen.

The breakfast offerings are not worth what you pay for. Better to eat breakfast in any of the shops/cafes close to the hotel.

• henderikus (7/5): Web site gives a fair view and it matched more than our expectations. - Staff were very helpful when we thought we had lost the room and front door keys about we (an OAP couple) felt stressed. (We found them back eventually among our belongings). The common kitchen is not heavily advertised, but it is actually a great facility. There are no pots to do any cooking, so we had microwaved eggs for breakfast one morning! A bit of a mismatch between a four-ring gas stove and utensils needed to use it. The room and bedding were clean, except for ... dust and bits and pieces of paper under the beds. The place could do for a woman in charge for the finer points maybe? We enjoyed being in this Bengali neighbourhood, for us as 'non-British whites' a nice experience. Dust under the beds. There is no use 'complaining' about having to wait for use of bathroom or space in the common kitchen when one knows these are the facilities people have booked. We actually enjoyed the interaction with other guests.

• Edwin (6/5): - I stayed here and all I can say is this: the room is comfortable, nothing spectacular. The worst thing is sharing the bathroom. In the mornings and evenings, I had to wait and watch for people coming out of the bathroom so I could do my business and shower. The good thing is that it's centrally located and has an excellent 24-hour bus and trains service.

No hay nadie que te oriente, no hay tazas para cereal, un espacio muy pequeño. Tome 1 solo desayuno.

I didn't like the stay , not worth the price. I wouldn't recommend this City Lodge to family or anyone. it's quite far from underground train station. You need to get the bus to reach the station. Area is pathetic , not safe in the late evening. Common toilet for entire floor which has 3-4 room. It's a very old building so it's not safe for travellers

Étant passé par votre site il n’y avait aucun soucis de règlement. La terrasse n’était pas aménagée, nous n’avons pas pu en profiter. Pour ce qui est de la cuisine, aucun accessoire de cuisson(casseroles ou poêles). Nous avons voulu dîner à une heure correcte, le propriétaire nous a demandé de manger dans notre chambre.

• Cameron (2/5): Skip this place for sure - We were lucky to get into this place on the first day. It took us half an hour walking around just to find it. It’s a small glass door right next to a market. The door was locked. The phone number listed wasn’t able to guide us to where it is and said someone would call us in the morning. What were we supposed to do for that night? We got lucky and one of the “staff” walked by and saw us and let us in. This is basically a hostel with separate rooms. There is one shared kitchen for all floors and one shared bathroom per floor. I have dietary restrictions so I got it for the kitchen but when I asked for a pan so I could cook my chicken they said I couldn’t cook anything because of the smell. When I asked about laundry at 7:00 pm they said it would have to wait until morning because people may be sleeping and the machine is loud. I booked it for a week before I knew and we only stayed 2 nights and had to blow money on other hotels. It’s close to the Tower of London but otherwise not in a very pretty or interesting neighborhood. No way this place has an average score of 7 unless their friends are leaving the reviews. The staff was nice enough though they barely spoke English and walked around in sweats and a t shirt. Not really a professional hotel. Like I said, should be listed as a hostel and not a great one at that.

• Juliebzh (7/5): Bon compromis qualité / prix pour un court séjour à Londres - Cette petite pension est plutôt bien placée par rapport à la gare de Saint-Pancras (20 min en métro). J'y ai passé deux nuits avec mes deux filles nous avions une chambre avec trois couchages et la salle de bain au bout du couloir. C'était très propre mais le confort est sommaire. Rien au regard des prix pratiqués à Londres. C'est un bon compromis.

More of a hostel type in a way but with separate locked rooms :). Some nice food shops next door in case you need anything :) and a good grill café at the corner to have your dinner & desert :) . Friendly and helpful owner, clean tidy room, good opportunity to have a chat or a drink at the small terrace :) Could not find it at first as probably no sign outside (at least I haven't noticed), but easily sorted when asked the man from the next door shop :)

On the bad side people were coming in at midnight and were closing doors noisily. There was another floor above and I was woken by the person in that room walking about, so I got little sleep. But it was OK for 1 night.

Overall inside was quite clean and no smell. "Breakfast included" has a special meaning here. This means you will have some bread, jam and fruits on a table + and a possibility to make a tea. No coffee machine. Host was polite and said that he will serve a breakfast for us a bit earlier (we asked to have it at 8:30 due to our flight). But when we came to the breakfast - there were no host and very "self service DYI", limited breakfast It was hard to find the entrance to the building. And in the evening it was pretty scary on the street

We didn't know the area which was run down. The property was hard to find....just a door between shops. We were asked for ID which I didn't have as when I visit London I don't bring a handbag. I can't recall seeing instructions on Booking.com that said 'No ID no stay' . The matter was resolved with my friend providing a copy of her passport. Bathroom could do with a proper clean.

• Rusty (2/5): The name is very misleading. - The only positive about this establishment is that it was a fairly quiet place and I was not disturbed in the night by noise. It is not a hotel. Be warned. The name City Lodge is very misleading. It is actually an Airbnb and the bathroom is not en suite. There is no frontage and it is difficult to find.

The location was very good with plenty of local buses and rent was good - I did not have a breakfast only a cup of tea, I had breakfast at a local cafe which was fine. My room did not have a view, a small window near the ceiling, but there was plenty of light.

Quiet area • Location not the best • Although shared bathroom not an issue, partner couldn’t have shower because someone was in there for over an hour, couldn’t even get in there to use toilet. Should be some sort of limit on timings people can use bathroom when it’s shared. • Breakfast was poor service really would not call a loaf of bread and a bowl of bananas a adequate inclusion of ‘breakfast’ in the booking • I paid £76 then noticed the price had dropped to £57 for what I had paid for. I do not think it was worth the £76 I paid for what was provided. Because of these reasons would not choose to stay at the property again sorry.

Overall the sharing facilities looks a bit worn out and no desinfected..I appreciated the kindness and reception very friendly Well I was heard a sound continously witch was sound like an terror terrible sound thinking is a bomb ..so scary 😨 when I woke up in the middle of night because of sounds never stops I understand was a water pump 🙃 need sorted .the receptionist very kind mouve me in another room more soundprooff witch was better ..but again no luck the next door was a person wich was talking om the phone till 4 :30 am in the morning banging pans to cook; banking bathroom door .I had only 2 h sleep I need to do a presentation today was so badly 😢....well the booking was with breakfast -when I came down for breakfast I seen cereals milk but no bowls only flat plates ..so so disappointed no breakfast .Never came back here .

The price you pay is fair for what you get - The location is pretty convenient. 30m walking to the Tower Bridge. 2 Subway stations nearby and a lot of Uber bikes that you can pick up for a faster commute. Staff is very friendly and supportive. There are a lot of shops around that work till the late evening, so you won't be hungry. The room is really small. Feels like two on 2m. There's a table in it, but you can hardly sit there as the ceiling is angled. Not much place to put your stuff on (keys, cell, etc). Breakfast is so so. Jam + milk + bread + banana. Better than nothing, but it's not a breakfast you got used to in big hotels.
