• Pieta (10/5): Amazing with great views - Loved this stay. We stayed for 8 nights when we were in Hanoi. It is a great location in a quiet area but close enough to walk or take a quick grab to the old quarter. The staff were great and the apartment was cleaned when requested. Everything was comfortable and very clean when we arrived. The view is so amazing from the balcony so would highly recommend getting the lake view room. Nothing, only thing that would have made it a tiny bit better was some outdoor seats to sit on the balcony. There also wasn’t very much kitchen equipment but we didnt really use it anyway but good to keep in mind if you are wanting to cook.

• Eric (2/5): An absolutely criminal abomination to be avoided at all costs - What an absolute abomination of a property! Woken up at 8 am on a Sunday morning with jackhammering, sawing, drilling, and a whole caucaphony of construction noise beyond our toleration limits. Property management frustrated at every turn, taking turns denying the problem then lying about its source. Refused to help. We had to leave. Prepaid for five nights and management refused to cancel the remainder of our stay. Absolutely criminal. Avoid at all costs

• Anonymous (10/5): Lux Westlake studio gave us the perfect opportunity to explore a different part of Hanoi - The location is great - lots of lovely places to eat nearby. The property has great facilities and a lovely shower. The host was friendly too 😊
• Pang (1/5): Don’t be fooled by the images, they have extremely bad hygiene standards. Try looking at other spots. - Property was situated in an interesting spot with a few bars around it within walking distance. But the property itself was really unpleasant. The room we had was filled with mosquitoes and my husband killed a HUGE cockroach crawling out beneath our bed. The fridge was not working, aircon was not cold either. There were some gunk in the toilet sink that we have to wash off and baby cockroaches floating in the toilet bowl… it was really unpleasant. We had to check-out on the same day because we simply cannot sleep in a room like that, especially after seeing a HUGE hairy cockroach. We felt like the photos shown was a scam! There was no lobby at all, we were honestly shocked upon arrival because it was bare and dirty, it honestly look like it was mid renovating. Those photos seen was of a bar right beside, don’t be fooled.

The room has strong smoking cigarette and the bathroom has problems with drainage system. The bedding and linens doesn’t seem cleaned.
• Jan (6/5): Pleasant - Big room with a nice view on the lake - The indicated address on the booking confirmation is slightly wrong - it's 29A Nam Trang not the adjacent 29 Nam Trang - No sign "Lux Homestay" at entrance of the apartment block, leading to confusion if we arrived at the right place - Reception area not clean, people smoking inside reception, smell of smoke noticeable on 7th floor - Heavy construction works and noise till midnight at adjacent house, preventing us from sleeping - No hot water for 2 days, only hot water on the first day - Bed a bit awkward to get into - No spare toilet roll was provided
• Danny (10/5): FIRST TRIP TO HANOI - The staff were very accommodating and helpful in getting me settled in. They had offered me hot tea and fresh fruits. Also I used to come back late at night, it was a smooth process to get back into the property. Highly recommended for everyone looking to stay in Hanoi as it overlooks Truc Bach lake. The check in time could be a bit earlier say 12 pm instead of 14:30 pm, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing.

They were ultimately cooperative when I asked (persistently) to end my stay early. -Car service from airport had a drunk driver -Confusing checkin process. Unclear which building was the hotel, and the person at reception was just a security guard who didn’t speak English -They didn’t know how to charge a credit card -Bed was terribly uncomfortable, didn’t even have a normal pillow on it. Awful bedding and hard mattress. -The fridge buzzed loudly, AC made loud dripping noises. -Horrible harsh lighting. The only lamp was missing a light bulb. -Overall just very expensive for what it was -Very difficult when I said I wanted to leave early
