Guest Reviews
- j jacques (10/5): MERCI SUPER - SUPER MERCI TOUT EMPLACEMENT PARFAIT
- Caitlin (10/5): Clean, comfortable and very friendly staff. Would return again if we are back in Hanoi. Really liked the position in the - Great communication, room presented as described. Access to washing machine and dryer perfect. Very clean and in a great area in Hanoi. Nothing.
- J (10/5): Great stay at the Camellia Residence - The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, and the stay was wonderful for all the facilities within the apartment - the washing machine and separate drier, the water dispenser, and having the space for two rooms and separate bathroom, with balcony was very welcome during a 10 day stay. It was a bright clean space, and a very comfortable bed. I was very grateful for the guidance of the team when trying to locate specific or out of town directions, and for providing a kitchen towel, padlocks for suitcases; these extra points of support were really helpful and appreciated during an intense work trip. It is a little way from the Old Quarter if that is a key focus, but with a Grab taxi easy to get to and nicer for being in a quieter neighbourhood. About an hour from the airport too. Highly recommend and hope to return one day! The privacy curtains disappeared towards the end of the first week from the large glass window in the bedroom, alongside the length of the balcony, and never reappeared which was not ideal as there was work going on the building immediately opposite the room, plus other people in neighbouring properties and it was a useful shield for the sunlight too, without having to draw the main curtains. Advised it was for laundry, but perhaps to use in another room for another guest, am not sure, as it didn't come back! Best to complete these jobs really between guest visits but otherwise no problems at all.

- Liamfpg (10/5): - Amazing rooms, location, got everything you need My room didn't have a lot of natural light but it wasn't too bad as most of the time I was there at night anyway
- Uyên (10/5): -
- Quyet nguyen (10/5): -
- Sujoy (10/5): Perfect - Everything was great, and having nana at reception is great, loved it
- Thi Thu Trang (10/5): - Khách sạn đẹp, sạch sẽ, ấm cúng. Gần trung tâm
- Chun Yin (9/5): - Friendly staff, apartment is spacious and clean. The owner's puppy was cute and lovely. Location is not super perfect as it is 15mins walking distance from the old quarter. But you get a bit more of quietness and still lots of tings are nearby.
- Nikki (10/5): Clean, spacious and convenient location - What didn’t I like?
Hotel was clean, spacious and well equipped for a short or long stay. The bonus was definitely the washing machine and dryer, however everything else provided was great. Chilled water cooler in the room was a nice touch!
Staff were friendly and helpful. Great sense of humour from Ninh, who checked us in and out but also to everyone else. Na is the name of the hotel mascot and shes the cutest most friendliest dog youll meet!!!
Location wise - if youre looking to stay away from the bustle of Old Quarter but close enough, look here. Quiet, safe and convenient indeed.
Thank u to the team - we will see u soon and thank you for our amazing stay for our first Ha Noi trip.
- Douglas (10/5): - Hotel is beautifully made and maintained The area was perfect, close to the city, but quiet and with good coffee shops and restaurants nearby.
- Maximilian (8/5): Gut geschnittenes und eingerichtetes Apartment - Das Apartment hatte alles was es braucht. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Es war sehr sauber. Das Gebäude ist ein bisschen hellhörig. Etwas wenig Kommunikation beim Check-In.
- Maurizio G74 (10/5): -
- ジギマンタス (10/5): - Great location: Far enough from the most of the loud bustle, but close enough to reach the major attractions by food or a short Grab ride.
Clean and comfy: clean room, comfortable bed and sofa, big room. The toilet is equipped with a washlet, which is a great plus.
Room amenities: Fully equipped, didn't lack anything, has everything from knives to international electric sockets. A combo of washing machine and dryer in the room helped out a lot.
Staff: kind and helpful, morning staff speaks great English, and has a good sense of humour.
Safety: felt safe both inside, and outside of the hotel.
- Karl Allan John (10/5): -
- Alexandra (9/5): Terrific location and great staff - - Spacious room
- Great location
- Friendly staff
- Japanese style toilet Nothing
- Fiona (9/5): Hanoi Holiday - We found Camellia Residence to be a great base for our stay in Hanoi. It's in a slightly quieter area compared to the Old Quarter, which is very accessible either by walking or catching a Grab but is still surrounded by local coffee shops and restaurants. Amenities were very good, and it was particularly handy having access to a washing machine given the hot and humid weather. All the staff we encountered were very polite and helpful. The mattress is firm, which we were fine with.
- Tran (10/5): -
- Mieszko (10/5): Exceptional - Staff is extremely attentive and helpful . Perfect stay. Highly recommended
- Linh (9/5): Superb -
- Miemz (10/5): Exceptional - Best hotel in Hanoi. Quiet authentic hanoian neighborhood with many restaurants cafes shops and boutiques around. Highly recommended
- Claire (7/5): Good - This was a lovely hotel, really every comfort had been thought of, it would be suitable for long term living as well. It is indeed quiet by Hanoi standards, and there's lots of delicious local food on the same street. My only issue was the hot water did not work in the shower/bath tub and had specifically booked this hotel so I could use the bath. Unfortunately the staff did not manage to get it fixed before I checked out. I probably would stay here again, but I would check my room and be very firm in insisting they fix any problems immediately as they don't seem to be very proactive on their own.
- Alessandro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yu (8/5): Location is good. My room a bit dark as we booked room with no window as we stayed 1 night only. - Location and staff nice. Nice spacious apartment. Very dark and I was on ground floor. Noise in the morning
- Marine (8/5): Very good - The rooms with balcony are great! Specious and clean, with amazing local design. Location is also good not noisy. We stayed on a six floor. The staff was a bit too money oriented. They made a drama for being 15 minutes late check out, even though it was not our fault. They also charge extra for laying with card and generally the vibe is not nice from the staff.
- Mohandoss (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abhishek (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely Comfortable & Cozy rooms.
- Marcus (10/5): Beautiful comfortable stay and very welcoming - Staff the little dog and the apartment I would prefer a walk in shower and the sealant around the bath was long overdue a refresh
- Velislav (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, clean and comfortable suite in a quiet Hanoi street, insofar as there are quiet streets in Hanoi. Excellent value and kind and helpful staff.
- Lin (8/5): Very good -
- Viktor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mert (8/5): It was clean and well put together. I wish they wouldn’t keep a dog wherr there’s literally no sound isolation at doors. - Clean, decent and spacious room. It’s far from downtown.
- Sarah (10/5): Sarah - Fantastic accommodation and location.
Staff very helpful
- Didie and Paul (6/5): - I would not recommend Camellia for business trips. Really terrible WiFi in the room and they don’t accept American Express. I encountered a cockroach the first night I arrived. I stepped on the cockroach the second day. Another cockroach appeared again a few days later… clogged drain in the bathtub during my stay. Other than that, great location and really nice people!
- Kieran (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful clean room, nice touches and great location.
- Rukmini (9/5): Lovely suite, well located, has all the amenities you’d need for a comfortable stay! - Lovely suite, well appointed- had everything you’d need including a washer and dryer, hob, kettle, iron and ironing board etc. Location was nice too - out of the busy old quarter but close enough to travel there in 15 minutes. Decor was tasteful! Sound proofing worked well. Super cute dog at the reception. Could have been a tad cleaner in a few spots and the folks manning the reception could have been more proactive in extending help, tips etc., it felt quite impersonal. Communicating in English was challenging.
- Yash (9/5): Superb -
- Evie (8/5): Very good - The room was stunning and extremely clean. The facilities in the room were amazing, it was great to be able to do our own washing. I really like the water cooler with unlimited filtered water and the kitchenette area.
- Thomas (10/5): Short stay but very pleasant - Quaint old french/vietnam style building, of course modernized. Very homely and also quiet even though in the central city. service by the staff was very good. Nearby all the central city sites and outside the hotel cafes/shops/restaurants etc.
- Hai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caziuc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (10/5): - This was a great place to stay. Staff were lovely and work very hard. The whole place was immaculate and housekeeping do an amazing job.
If there is any room for improvement i would suggest a roof garden or pool along with information about the area would have been a great addition to the experience.
- David (10/5): I will book again - Friendly helpful staff
Great bed Nothing
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yevgeniya (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): Highly recommended - It’s clean. The front desk is extremely helpful

- William (10/5): A wonderful comfortable stay in a beautiful place. Highly recommended. - Beautiful. Exquisitely furnished.
- Thao (10/5): Awesome - Clean, nice and friendly staffs, well maintenance N/a
- Thao (10/5): Awesome - Clean, easy to access to downtown area, friendly staffs N/a
- Michelle (9/5): Great value, with excellent location, and prompt communication -
- Brice (10/5): perfect Hanoi style residence - great appartment, very good furniture and style, large living room and room, going well with the district which is an old but not turisty area of hanoi. perfect for vacation or work, plus it has a washing machine and cooking space. Plenty of possibilities for breakfast around. nothing in particular.
- Hegi (10/5): I would definitely stay here again. - It was a very nice stay. The hotel, the staff and the location are just perfect. That’s the place you wanna be. There are rooms with a balcony and others without. The rooms with balcony are brighter.
- David (10/5): Comfortable, classy, elegant, great facilities - Second night staying in a different apartment. Still amazing! Great facilities, washer/dryer. Classy and elegant Nothing
- Hanh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luc (10/5): amazing - super beautiful Vintage Vietnam Look no make up mirror for my girlfriend
- David (10/5): Peaceful comfortable stay in an elegant building. - The apartments are 'old school' classy elegant properties. So clean and well equipped. In a great part of town. We have three one night stays where we are going off to do trips in between. The owners have allowed us to leave our luggage in between. Washing machine and dryers, amazing toilet! Second apartment so far we have stayed in and both good quality. So quiet. Nice finishing touches and a haven after a busy day. Would definitely recommend. Also let us check in early on the first stay There is nothing - great value for money
- Kate (9/5): Lovely stylish hotel with efficient hospitality - Impeccably clean
Beautifully styled
Felt like a little bit of luxury in Hanoi The cheaper rooms at the back look into a rock wall which is actually quite pleasant and less noisy from traffic. The rooms at the front have a balcony which is lovely but the street gets noisy from 7am
- Hanh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kamut (10/5): Exceptional - Place has nice decor, new and clean. Room is spacious and functional with good air conditional system. Location is on not very crowded street and within walking distance to the Old Quarter. The staff was very helpful and supportive to request. None
- Joshua (10/5): Great hotel for longer, relaxed stay in Hanoi - This is a good hotel to spend a longer period of time, as it has a water dispenser, kitchenette, washer/dryer, couch, and big TV in the room. I reserved the largest room available, which has a separate bedroom and kitchen/living room, separated by a sliding door. I'd stay here again.
The hotel has been recently remodelled (2023), and they clearly have an eye for classy, stylish decor. The room had rich wooden furniture, and the lobby is tastefully decorated with ceramics and other artwork.
The staff was helpful and kind throughout the entire stay when I had questions about restaurants and shopping. One staff member even took us shopping for cloth and a tailor to make bespoke Ao Dai dress. A few staff speak great English, and a few less so, but they always made someone available if we needed it.
Location was the ideal mix for my taste: much quieter than the obnoxious Old Town tourist district, but close enough to that and all the sites that we didn't feel isolated. About a 15min walk to the very southern part of Old Town, 25mins to the hear of Old Town; a big park only 5 mins away, which most tourists probably never see but we enjoyed a lot. Plenty of good local food options nearby, without the packs of tourists that you get in the French Quarter or Old City. Biggest drawback was the lack of breakfast on the premises, and little nearby for Western tastes: found a nice bakery 5min walk away. Other minor problem was the shower setup: you need to use a towel to prevent the water from flowing on the floor. Nothing to interrupt our appreciation of the place.
- Xin Yi Cindy (10/5): - Firstly, I'll like to share that the photos simply just don't do any justice to this hidden gem! It's not just good; it's way better than any of the fancy hotels I've ever stayed w/! The receptionists were so friendly and they also gave the whole check-in process a personal touch that you rarely find in those high-end hotels. The reception is also staffed 24/7 so you'll always feel attended as well. & I know this is a weird thing to comment, but their lobby smells so amazing too haha
Now, let me rave about the room! It was so incredibly spacious, impeccably maintained, and spotlessly clean! The bed is comfy and the amenities in the room were just top-notch; a water dispenser that has hot and cold water a washer and dryer in the room saved me from the hassle of post-travel laundry! The TV comes w/ Netflix too! It has a kitchenette if you ever fancy doing some light cooking. A place that is this well-equipped and cozy is just so hard to come by!
The location of the hotel is perfect w/ easy access to many local cafes (Tho Cafe, just less than a min walk, is a must-visit!). You can also get to many local attractions within 15-20mins via Grab (which can be easily booked).
Without 2nd thought, I'll definitely be coming back to Camellia Residence on my next trip to Hanoi & I truly recommend booking with them if you want a fantastic stay experience!

- Svg1234 (10/5): Wonderful accommodation - Fantastic stay for 8 nights in room 502 (king suite). Staff very helpful and welcoming. Housekeeping excellent. Elevator. Spacious room. W/D. Ceiling fans. A/C. Filtered water cooler. Location for us (middle aged couple) was perfect. Not too touristy, and just 15 to 20 minute walk to the Hoan Kiem lake area (or take a cheap Grab). Tons of cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. Highly recommend.
- Hiền (10/5): Exceptional -
- 峻豪 (10/5): Exceptional - location, plenty of food choices around, the Thai restaurant near by is also good. typical street noises when open windows
- Mans (7/5): Good - Nice clean room. Lots of space. Nice location close to park and many good restaurants. There is no natural light in the room. Really dark.
- Nikki (10/5): Fantastic Accommodation - We loved the apartment because it felt like a home away from home. Very clean. It had a laundry which really helped us halfway through our holiday.
It's a nice location just outside the old quarter, and there are plenty of restaurants in the street and nice cafes.
- Ngoc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juan (10/5): Excellent location quiet at night near parks and plenty of good food options, excellent value - The location was good with plenty of good food options nearby, It was very quiet at night which is the benefit of not staying in the old quarter, rooms were clean and comfortable, the hosts were very accommodating letting us leave our bags until 8pm after check out. Good value for money especially as our room had a washing machine and dryer and a really big kitchen which meant we could pack light. It was all good.
- Carolyn (10/5): Beautiful luxurious apartment in lovely area - The apartment was beautiful and so spacious. It had everything we needed including laundry facilities inside the apartment. The staff were absolutely lovely, even gave me a Rose!! Nothing. Everything was perfect
- Meller (10/5): It was brillant. - Very kind and helpful personnel. Apartment was clean and cozy.
- Ian7777 (10/5): Exceptional - They are really kind, receptionist, owner,, and they are very beautiful as well. 🙂
Very cozy place as like home, tranportation is good as well no traffic jam. There are very nice testaurant, department near there. 🙂
Everything is very comfortable. I strongly recommand if you are in hanoi. 🙂 10/10
- Gregory (8/5): Very good - I liked the room and location in a residential and coffee shop area. It has a lift. That there was no cable TV only YouTube.
- Yujeong (10/5): Good hotel - Very clean and beautiful hotel!
- Sho (10/5): - クラシックな建物、部屋のセンスも素敵で、キッチン・洗濯機付き、暮らすような滞在ができました。隣のカフェもお洒落で居心地良かったです。旧市街まではgrabで10分くらいで便利です。
- Yuxiu (7/5): Good - Second time,still nice
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - New hotel. Helpful and kind staff. Clean room. Good location and price.
- Dar (8/5): Not bad! But it could be better! - Nice room! Neighbor is noise! Close door loudly.
- Kaleb (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trần (9/5): Superb -
- Barbara (10/5): Would definitely stay here again if returning to Hanoi . Large spacious rooms with all facilities . - Great location , easy to get around staff were super friendly and accomodating , happy to loan chargers and help with directions and advice
- Pornpinyo (10/5): Very good and I will be back again - Clean, big room and lots of facilities like Airbnb. The room was nice as in the pictures The mattress was a little bit hard but it‘s acceptable
- Hayley (8/5): Gezellig! - The location was great. There are many great restaurants on the street. The staffs were helpful upon arrival. The room has everything we need. Our room was a queen suite located on the ground floor, right next to the reception and there was no noise isolation as I heard everything the receptionist said. Also, it was a little bit awkward to literally walk out of your room and the first thing you see is the receptionists. The bathroom is a little bit small.
- Kwok (10/5): I definitely would stay at this property again when I visit Hanoi. - The room are basically studios. You have your own bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchenette. They also provide you detergent and you can do your laundry at your room.
The property is very new and the rooms are clean. It locates very closed to the old quarter. The curtain doesn’t completely block the light so I woke up at 6 everyday.
- Huy.an (10/5): Exceptional -
- Huy.an (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linh (9/5): Superb -
- Đức (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melrose (10/5): Beautiful clean stay - The room is exactly as per the pictures - it’s clean, proper and welcoming to stay. Absolutely love the comfort of the bed - also, for those who fret the heat - you have two aircon vents by your bed. Close by the hotel, there are also plenty of restaurants.
Furthermore, the staff were very responsive over booking.com chat. I appreciate all the help and recommendations provided. Absolutely nothing.
- Danh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liễu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eddie (9/5): Superb - Seamless check in, large room with washer and dryer, full kitchen and a great dinner set, beds where comfortable medium to western standards. Netflix was included so no logging in. Good wifi. Will stay again.
In Hanoi there's always something wrong with a hotel room but we had no issues whatsoever here. If I had to nit pick we didn't have a view of any sort.
- Chee (9/5): Superb -
- Maartenku (9/5): Beautifully decorated room in the middle of Hanoi - The room was styled very nicely and we had a lot of space for everything. The bathroom was spacious enough, there was a small kitchen that was well equiped, a couch and the bedroom looked fantastic. There was a small desk and the wifi was fast enough to have a short business meeting.
The staff was nice to help us rent a motorbike as well. The room lit up very quickly in the morning because we didn't have the ability to put blinds in front of every window. It was hard to determine which button was for which lamp/fan/airconditioner because there were a lot of switches.
