- gerardo (9/5): - La posizione e la struttura la colazione, quasi assente
- Kathryn (10/5): - We can’t say enough about this beautiful houseboat! Every little detail is considered and provided. It is ideally located (for sightseeing, people/canal watching, shopping and more), immaculately clean, so cozy snd comfortable with the most comfortable beds ever, yummy soft towels, a perfectly stocked kitchen…I could go on and on! We are counting the days until we return!!
- Thomas (10/5): Truly excellent. Worth the money. - Amazing and unique experience. Truly a trip highlight. The boat is amazing in every respect.
We were a family of 4 and kids slept in same bed. The deck is open to the street and can be accessed by anyone.
The church down the road seems to ring its bells all hours of the night.

- Maxime (10/5): Super! Efficace - L’emplacement, le confort des lits, la terasse!

- David (10/5): The perfect houseboat - Like Elle it’s pure perfection Nada
- Lois (10/5): Authentic amsterdam experience - Staying on a houseboat really added to our Amsterdam experience. We loved watching all the activity on the canals. Great location in the Jordaan area and super comfortable house boat. The second bedroom has a very low roof but that is part of the authentic houseboat experience.

- Long Hei Timothy (10/5): Unique experience in Amasterdam - A very unique experience to be able to stay on a houseboat in Amasterdam. Very spacious with plenty of room to move around. It actually feels like a home.
Other reviews mention the church bell noise, the boat cruises across at Ann Frank, we did not find that as an issue at all. There is also a outdoor terrance, perfect for an afternoon tea even on cold winter days. The boat is a bit out of the way but all within 1km walking distance to tram, supermarket etc.
- Joanne (10/5): Overall it is one of the most memorable stays I have had and I very much look forward to returning! - This was an amazing experience - so unique! We had such a wonderful stay at the Prince Royal. It was so spacious and clean! The very large beds (truly king sized according to North American standards) was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. My friend and I slept under the top cabin, and the other two slept in the bedroom at the other far end. Lots of privacy if you are two couples. Also, with two bathrooms (toilet, sink, shower), the 4 of us had plenty of space and time to get ready in the morning and there was plenty of hot water. Our favorite part was sitting in the "top cabin" at night, lights on but dimmed, with a glass or two of wine, waving at passing boats and watching people walk by. The location cannot be beat - directly across the canal was the Anne Frank House (also a must see) and a beautiful church with bells that rang on the hour - so charming. Shopping was plentiful, we walked everywhere we wanted to go, a supermarket was nearby - we really did not have one need that we couldn't meet during this stay. Rachel was very responsive to texts and questions, and provided short videos to explain how to do things - like unlocking the "hatch", how to work the heating, etc. VERY helpful! I was a bit concerned with being cold, but the heat was good - we did bring the spare blankets up to the lookout spot every night but the rest of the living and sleeping space was wonderfully warm and cozy. Getting in is more like using a ladder (a short one) as is getting to the top cabin/lookout space. It might not be for you if you have mobility issues. We had to be mindful of the small step as we moved from the bedroom to the main space (maybe a small dim light here would be helpful especially in the middle of the night). This was minor. There was nothing that I did not enjoy about this stay!

- Viviane (9/5): A wonderful stay - We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house boat was absolutely spotless, with everything fresh, tidy and well-maintained. It really felt like home from the moment we walked in. The location could not have been better: Just a short walk to the supermarket for daily needs, plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of food, and several charming cafés to relax in. If you want to visit the Anne Frank Museum (just opposite the boat) make sure to book tickets well in advance - we didn't, and unfortunately couldn't get in. This has nothing to do with the property itself, but Amsterdam really has a littering problem. It may have been worse because the "Sail 2025" was on, but the city authorities truly need to take this more seriously and sort it out. It's such a beautiful city, and it deserves better!
- Sandra (10/5): Excellent location, beautiful and comfortable! -
- Sharada (9/5): We loved the houseboat and definitely recommend. - Very special chance to stay on a houseboat in a great neighborhood. Low ceilings, but to be expected!
- ברק (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): An amazing experience. Plenty of room, clean, had everything we needed and a perfect location. - Outstanding location and beautiful, unique experience. Had everything we needed Not a thing
- Lisa (10/5): Wonderful and really suited us - Location, cleanliness, comfort, ambience Nothing
- Zora (10/5): Beautiful houseboat in a great location. - The property was absolutely immaculate and as described. It is a very spacious houseboat in a nice area of Amsterdam. Nothing really. It cost a lot but when divided by four people it would be cheaper.
- Lynne (10/5): An Incredible experience in Amsterdam - My husband and I travel quite a bit, and this was our favorite experience. From the updated interior of the house boat to the outside terrace to the view from the inside, it was incredible. The owners added many essential items, including salt, pepper, olive oil, coffee, spices, foil, paper towels & tissue (which we find lacking in most rentals). The location is excellent, we were able to walk everywhere, including grocery, central station, Dam Square, Flower market, numberous museums and most tourist areas. There is shopping and many restaurants (including (restaurant Street) nearby. It is on the boat tour loop so if you would like to take a ride around the ring, they pick you up across the canal in front of Anne Frank House. We loved watching the view of all of the activity from the outside terrace or from the pilot house if it was raining. There are two bedroom and two bathrooms which was nice to have. The beds were very comfortable as was the sectional couch for lounging after a big day of touring. They also have a smart TV so we could watch Netflix in English. We would (and will) rent this house boat again. This did not bother us but might be a problem for others - the entrance to the house boat requires you to enter down a steep, narrow ladder of about 7-8 steps. It took two of us to get the luggage down, One of us up above handing it down to the person inside the boat. We were on a 5 week trip with our adult daughter so we had 10 pieces of luggage. It was easier to get it down than to get it back up at the end of our stay. Also, the second bedroom is at the stern which you have to crouch down to enter. I hit my head several times going in and out so be careful.
- Melinda (10/5): Making the best memories - Amazing location, and so much more space than a hotel room. Very tidy and thoughtfully appointed property. You need to be spatially aware and have some fitness to navigate the stairs to the boat and the low ceilings in the bedrooms. Would stay again! Would add some more hooks for hanging clothing, and some alert tape to low hanging ceilings and changes in floor hight (we all hit our head numerous times). These are minor concerns, we loved the place.
- Nina (9/5): Fantastic stay - We loved the location, the outside deck and the captain’s quarters. It felt more spacious inside than anticipated. We did not have a microwave and the low ceilings in the bedroom however we would stay again and still loved the experience.
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome Amsterdam stay in a great location with very comfortable beds.
- Debbie (10/5): Beautiful and unique stay in Amsterdam! - The houseboat was beautiful and spacious and in a great location. Everything felt new and clean. The host was very responsive and punctual and made sure we had what we needed. The weather was a little chilly, but the houseboat had central heating, and even heated floors in the second bathroom. Two full bathrooms were so nice to have. There was also plenty of hot water for showers. It was nice to have a terrace space and the “loft” area above the bedroom. The host left coffee and hot chocolate and a bottle of wine as well. We are all tall, but were able to move around well throughout the space except for the bedrooms, which had lower ceilings. The second bedroom requires you to almost crawl in to the bed, but we expected small inconveniences like that in a houseboat.
- Cari (10/5): The best location in Amsterdam! A wonderful experience all around. - This houseboat may have the best location in Amsterdam for travelers, being across the canal from the Ann Frank House and many other cental areas of interest, including the Jordaan. It's very well appointed, the hosts were very communicative and attentive, and we loved our stay (only wish it was longer!). It was quite chilly weather while we were there, and the heat system was amazing at keeping us warm and comfortable. It's a good size for up to four people. Highly recommend! The only comment (not a complaint) is that floorboards are quite squeaky, which isn't a big deal unless you're trying to sleep in the main lounge or kitchen area. Be aware that the bedroom ceilings are very low, but again, that is to be expected in a houseboat.
- Alice (8/5): Very good - Fabulous location for exploring Amsterdam and a great communal area for sharing with friends Worth considering the low ceilings and steep stairs for anyone with any kind of mobility concerns
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay at this houseboat and hope to stay again one day. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, had everything we needed and the location is fantastic. Communication with the host was always really easy and a pleasure - we loved absolutely everything about our stay here and would highly recommend. Note (as highlighted by the host) the ceilings are low in the bedrooms so if you're not able/comfortable to bend this would not be ideal but was not an issue for us - we loved the novelty of it. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Nevena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (10/5): Gorgeous boat in an excellent location. - The location was excellent. The boat was beautiful and so spacious.
- Panayiota (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you to Chamile who met us at the boathouse, as we had a very late check in, she was very accommodating. She was more than helpful . N/A
- Renee (10/5): Unique accommodation in the heart of Amsterdam. - Great location, right in the heart of Amsterdam and just opposite the Anne Frank House. The boat was well-equipped, the living area was very spacious, the beds were really comfortable. The owner gave clear instructions and great advice on local places to eat. We loved sitting on the terrace area of the boat, people watching. The little 'nook' at the top of the boat (Captains Quarter) was a great place to relax, read and fall asleep!
- Christopher (10/5): Five absolutely amazing days in Amsterdam. - Unique and absolutely beautiful stay! Large living space with good AC for relaxing on hot afternoons. Comfortable bedrooms. Great pressure / heat in the showers. Absolutely nothing — however, there are steep steps to get down into the unit, so it wouldn’t be a suitable unit for someone with physical disabilities / mobility issues.
- Norman (10/5): Absolutely in love with Amsterdam and Netherlands. - I have stayed here the last 2 years in May for a week or so. ..... I am in LOVE with Amsterdam and this boat. The owner Rachell is a sweetheart. The boat is right across the canal from the Anne Frank (An absolute must to visit) and within walking distance to just about everywhere. The only thing i didn't like was having to leave the Netherlands. But, i'm already planning my next trip back.
- Christine (10/5): Would defintely book again in the future! - We loved the location, the cleanliness, and the houseboat itself. It was great having a well stocked kitchen and the beds were comfortable. The host was very helpful, meeting us at the boat to get us off to a great start. Loved everything
- Roland (10/5): Exceptional - The beds are extremely comfortable.
- Mei (10/5): Perfect boathouse - Lovely boathouse , perfect location to be based for Amsterdam city centre. Very safe and convenient neighbourhood. A great host. N/a
- Erin (10/5): Comfortable, convenient, original and special. - The location was amazing. The houseboat was in the Jordaan district- walking distance from everything and right across the canal from Anne Frank House. The house boat was very cool - such a great experience for the kids.
- Stephanie (9/5): Lovely well equipped boat in a great location. - Great location, the lounge/seating area was very comfortable and the boat was very clean. Unable to stand in the bedrooms, either had to crawl or crouch to get into bed.
- David (9/5): Wonderfull overhall! Would recomended it warmly - The location , is exceptional The lock is a bit difficult to operate and could be improved for security
- Annmarie (9/5): Superb -
- Katherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andy (10/5): Beautiful boathouse B&B with an amazing location. Friendly and courteous hosts. You can’t go wrong with this unique - Clean and comfortable. NA
- Amanda (10/5): Love this property - Where do I start. Everything about this place blew me away. The host was exceptionally helpful. From the location to the propertu itself. I would highly recommend this accommodation. N/A
- Igor (10/5): Definitely worth to stay there! - Amazing experience. Really like the boat, location and stuff. None
- Grace (9/5): This was such a fun experience for our family! Beautiful location, comfortable beds and cozy house. I defibately recomen - Staying in this houseboat was such a great experience for our family of 4. We had no idea what to expect but our time in Amsterdam was amazing! The boat was very cozy, and well stocked with everything we could possibly need. The beds were very comfortable! The location was also ideal! Extremely pretty neighborhood! We loved the boat but the bedrooms rooms do have low ceilings and the showers are small which is typical for houseboats. It was no problem for us because we loved the entire experience!
- Victoria (10/5): It was a memorable visit to Amsterdam and our accommodation was part of the story! - It’s central location and quaint character. Our host who greeted us was so lovely and helped us feel welcome and comfortable.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (10/5): Short holiday with my sons to celebrate an 18th Birthday - Everything - location, facilities, owner.
- Joanne (10/5): A beautiful boat that made our Amsterdam holiday even more amazing. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat. - The boat was well located near many beautiful restaurants and cafes. We loved being on the canal and being able to sit and enjoy the atmosphere when we were stopping for a rest. The living space was surprisingly spacious and everything we needed was available to us in the kitchen. The bed under the captain quarters was uncomfortable.
- Rebeccald08 (10/5): Exceptional - This houseboat was an amazing experience! My husband and I absolutely loved the location (it was very easy to walk to different locations in the city). The boat was super clean and fun! The couch was also useful if we wanted to just relax. GREAT experience! The only thing I didn't like was the bed(s) [twin beds put together] were hard. I would also suggest having extra blankets around for those who get cold easily. (If they were there, I didn't see/find them.]
- John (8/5): Wonderful experience and Gioia was fantastic - Unique and location The entrance was difficult to manage with luggage but should be expected with type of accommodation it is.
- Trish (10/5): Perfect location, space was great, drinks on boat deck every night people watching, coffee in the morning, waking up on - Everything. Spacious clean, great kitchen, nothing lacking, location was awesome There is nothing to report
- Kelly (9/5): Would stay again in a heartbeat! - Such a unique property in exceptional location. Very clean, good facilities and homely. It’s a houseboat so expect very low ceilings, it’s all part of the fun!
- Mary (10/5): Phenomenal location, perfectly safe and a wonderful experience! -
- Karla (10/5): Amazing boat accomodation on a central canal across from the Ann Frank museum. - Great location right on one of the main canals and very accessible to the tram and museums The street out front had alot of garbage, but so did all of Amsterdam
- Elle (9/5): Superb -
- Todd (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary-ann (10/5): Unique & very central Accomodation - Great location!
Very clean, spacious, fully equipped, comfortable and unique accommodation!
We highly recommend Prince Royal B&B :)
- Lily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ayelish (10/5): Beautiful boat, superb location. - The boat is extremely clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. It was surprisingly spacious. The location was superb. It was charming and our kids, in particular, got a huge kick out of being on a boat. Because it's a houseboat, the showers are small and the ceilings/door frames are low. But you're on a boat! That's to be expected and neither took away from our experience in the least.
- Dorothy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yijing (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - It is a house boat so make your own breakfast. It was my first time staying in a house boat, It was different but nice. Some low ceilings in going to the bedrooms but a great spot. Location was not to far from centre about 15mins walk. There was nothing that I didn't really like. As I said it was the first time I stayed on a house boat so didn't know what to expect . I enjoyed the stay.
- Eya (10/5): Exceptional place and host - Beautiful, luxurious, cozy, central, out of the ordinary.
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location, can't fault the accommodation and surpassed all expectations.
- Kelly (10/5): I loved every aspect of this stay. Booking this houseboat right in the canal enhanced the overall experience. We couldn’ - The houseboat was quaint and very centrally located. It is conveniently located across from the Anne Frank museum and the best neighborhood in Amsterdam. It had all the amenities one could ask for. If you are differently-abled this may not be the right place to consider.
- Zoe (10/5): Exceptional - This was such a lovely little boat! Everything was so clean and cosy! Location is great - we've stayed in Amsterdam so many times and it's one of the best locations. Host was amazing - very friendly! Thank you! The location was great but the clock tower behind, we found quite noisy! It went off every hour and did wake us a few times - wasn't an issue after purchasing some ear buds though :).
Be careful not to bang your head on the bedroom ceiling/door frame - I did a couple of times and it was painful! Lol!
- Oliver (10/5): Amazing stay - Location was brilliant, boat was fantastic, clean and really nicely done Nothing
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victoria (9/5): Lovely stay - The houseboat is beautiful- really well equipped. The photos don’t do it justice. Location also fantastic and lovely outdoor deck. The hostess was very helpful and communication was good. The only thing was that we felt that we were asked to leave a bit earlier than the stipulated check out time to accommodate the next guests who had requested an early check in.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): We are so glad we chose this houseboat. - Location was perfect. Houseboat was clean and spacious. Pump system on the toilets was sensitive.
- Eleanor (9/5): excellent stay ..could I suggest that a few more coat hangers are provided - everything
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional - The Prince Royal Houseboat is located in (for us) the most beautiful district of Amsterdam - the Jordaan district. There are many nice restaurants and cafés in the area if you wish to go out in the evening. Also, there is a café opposite the houseboat - they sell fresh bread and pastries for breakfast. We did not expect to sleep so well but the calm and quiet surrounding of the boat is the perfect location for an accomodation in Amsterdam. We really appreciated that the boat had two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a very spacious kitchen and living room. From the two terraces you can watch people and boats passing by and enjoy a glass of wine. All in all, we would recommend this place 100% and if we ever come back, we would love to stay at this wonderful place again :) nothing
- Poncia (10/5): Amazing location with lots to explore nearby - The internal space was massive The property was excellent !
