Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): Of the the side tucked quietly behind the hustle and bustle of the entertainment district. - It was very convenient to anywhere in the area just a 30 min was as ok away It was a little chill in the morning but it was mid November so I expected that
- Joy (8/5): Very good - the houseboat was fantastic! would love to stay there next time we are there. perfect location
- Lauren (8/5): Lovely houseboat! Great size and amazing location. I would recommend anyone to stay here! - Size and location! The bed was too soft for me but that’s just a personal preference.
- Tony (10/5): Highly recommend Pantheos Top Houseboat for a wonderful stay in Amsterdam!!! The location was amazing. - Great location and brilliant host. -
- Sheri (9/5): I highly recommend! - Great location, easy walk to attraction. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck watching all the boats go by. It was warm. So it was very nice to have AC. We felt at home. Margarit was also helpful and kind in letting us in a little early. Nothing really. It was great weather and many people outside late at night and into the morning, hard to sleep but great to hear everyone having fun!
- Ann-christin (10/5): Exceptional - We had a pleasant and unique stay at Fakes house bout and we can highly recommend it . The boat has three perfect location, all needed things like grocery store, cafes, restaurants etc are nearby. You do not need a car because everything is just a few minutes away.
We also want to mention the owner of the boat Fake. He is very care taking and give you good tips and advices.
We felt really welcomed by him.
The boat is very clean and you have everything here to enjoy your trip. Especially the terrace is very nice. You can sit there and enjoy the atmosphere
- Janine (9/5): For guests who want to stay in the centre of Amsterdam, this is the perfect place! - We felt very comfortable on the boat. When the city became too crowded and hectic, this was the perfect place to retreat. Every day we had a visit from a family of coots with babies. The stocked fridge on our arrival was very nice as we arrived unexpectedly later than planned.
The host deserves a special mention. Fake was kind enough to send us a stuffed bear that our son had forgotten on the boat. But not only that. He also documented the bear's adventures, which it had experienced without us in Amsterdam. Very kind. The boat could do with some attention here and there. The sofa is a bit worn out.
- Nadia (10/5): Looking forward to my return, the owner & host was very helpful and easy to contact when needed. - Delightful houseboat, shared space with 2 young adults. Bathroom is very roomy for the space, having a kitchen well stocked with lots of snacks, fruit, milk, juice and coffee was much appreciated! The bedroom mattress (a double size) was very comfortable and a peaceful little space. The outdoor deck with seating facing the canal could not be beat, we spent a lot of quiet time out there- what a beautiful location. Enjoyed a splendid sunset, visits from water fowl and watching city life all around. The sleeper couch really could use an upgrade, the rails could easily be felt thru the mattress making it uncomfortable.
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location. Easy walk to city centre with lots of lovely bars and restaurants very close by. The boat house was amazing and so lovely to stay in something other than a normal hotel room. Fake was very welcoming and friendly, cannot wait to book again!!
- Sharon (10/5): Fantastic visit to Amsterdam . And the houseboat made it extra special - Fantastic location . Everything you need is on board . Nothing
- Deborah (10/5): Unique experience - It was unique, bit quirky! Excellent location!
- Kristi (10/5): We loved our stay on the boat, it was a once in a lifetime experience! - We loved staying on the boat, it was such a unique experience! Fake was an excellent host and went above and beyond to insure we were comfortable providing snacks, fruit and fresh flowers. We loved feeding the ducks and swans grapes off the back of the boat! The location was excellent, only about a block from the Anne Frank house and in a beautiful neighborhood. Nothing, everything was great!
- Patricia (10/5): Perfect location and homely accomodation - Loved staying on the canal and close to restaurants Bar over the road noisy until around 3am but didn’t spoil our holiday
- Mara (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, great neighborhood, comfortable, clean, cool vibes all around!
- Irmina (10/5): If you want to stay in Amsterdam, it's the only place like this. - I liked everything interiors, great terrace. Comfortable bed.
- Kimberly (10/5): just do it. - it was magical staying in the canal and watching the world go by. the patio door to the deck is a bit tricky to lock.
- Claude (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neal (8/5): Beautiful , unique place to stay , but be aware of the issues - Great location, close to anything that you may want to visit. Unique lodging as a houseboat on a major canal. Fun to watch other tourists go by on a canal cruise and think you are a local! All the amenities you could ask for. Bed super comfortable. Overall the houseboat was well equipped and our stay was very enjoyable. -Asked the owner if an early check in was possible, about 9:30/ 10:00 o'clock. Was informed that it was and asked to give a "nice" tip to his sister who would meet us, nothing mentioned about an additional fee. A tip was given,(20 Euro) and was subsequently informed that it was inadequate and told an additional 105 Euros was owed. If a fee was required for an early check in it should have been conveyed when I asked for the early check in.
-The gangway into the boat is sloped downhill and canted to the left. You have to step over a rail at tripping height.
NO Handrail. If you have any mobility issues or are older, this place should be avoided
- very loud bar across the canal that goes until 3 o'clock in the morning
- Rose (10/5): Cosy and central with an amazing view - Close to most landmarks and amenities
Quiet area

- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Rachael (10/5): Authentic and quaint! - This is a very beautiful way of staying in Amsterdam and seeing the city. The location was amazing! Nothing, it was all perfect!
- Chris (7/5): enjoyable expensive relaxing one-off experience - on the canal-verandah-record player an awkward kitchen layout
- Nänni (10/5): Exceptional - Great spot (central), great view, great bars around, great vinyls to listen to, great hoast, great bed and so on and so on.... What do you want more?!?
- Jing (9/5): Perfect location! -
