Guest Reviews
- Matthew (10/5): Wish we could stay all summer - AMAZING room. Absolutely lovely. Comfortable bed. Great amenities. Beautiful location. Terrific host.
I was seriously so comfortable and at peace after a stressful and hectic few days. Right next to the Nemo and maritime museums. Short walk to central station. Nothing to dislike!
- Chelsea (9/5): - The host was so lovely and extra helpful. The sauna was a nice bonus.

- Andrew (8/5): Amazing place , great hosts and would stay again here for sure - What a beautiful find and amazing place to stay in the hub of the city. Hosts are awesome and could not do enough for you. Well recommended Cleanliness could have been a little better with some lying dust in places but overall well presented.
- Rymma (8/5): -
- Haeran (10/5): Just what we wanted! - Anna Houseboat was just what we hoped it to be. Somewhat quirky and unique, but comfortable and in a great location. The owners were kind and nice, the place well managed and fun to stay in and in a location that you could walk to most of neighborhoods and also has an easy access to public transportation. I would totally stay here again! Nothing.
- Maria (10/5): Great place to stay away from hustle and bustle but still central. - Loved the property. Very spacious and had everything we needed including all coffee pods which was great that we didn’t need to buy.
Sauna was very welcome after a long day walking!
Hosts very helpful and was good to know they were next door if we needed anything.
Oh and the deck is lovely to sit out on and watch boats go by. Nothing

The location were central and the hosts were lovely. The room was spacious with lots of lovely touches including a large in room sauna. I would recommend to anyone coming to Amsterdam.

- Maurizio (10/5): Everything was amazing, you really feel to be at home. - the Sauna was like a gift after the long walks around the city, and the arrangement of the living area with the sleeping area really lovely.
- Grace (10/5): -
- Juan (10/5): The best way to immerse yourself in Amsterdam. - One of the most unique experiences we've had. Spacious and cozy. Coming back to Anna's from walking the city felt like arriving home. The hosts ticked all the boxes.

- Bruce (10/5): Great location - Size
- Jane (10/5): Highly recommend this stunning houseboat! - This place was absolutely stunning and our hosts were certainly welcoming! We definitely plan to return! The location, the view, the uniqueness and the hosts!
- Sue (10/5): -
- Monique (10/5): Unique, enjoyable and memorable experience. - The houseboat was delightful. Beautifully refinished interior and just the right furniture for the space. The bed was a good size and comfortable. The bathroom was a very good size with large shower, but lighting could have been better for putting on make-up.. Skylights brought in natural light. When the sun came out or it stopped raining, the upper patio overlooking the water was so nice, waiving at tour boats passing by. If I go back to Amsterdam, I will stay here again. Loved the resident kitty cat too. The rain every day we were there. Just bad luck. But the houseboat still made our stay pleasureable.
- Daniel (10/5): Wonderful experience & lovely host. - Spacious and comfortable. AC was a plus!
- Carlo-Edoardo (10/5): Amazing Stay at Houseboat - Excellent, just excellent. 11/10 if it was possible. Warm and welcoming owners. Clear communication. Flexible with arrival time. Spotlessly clean (to my wife’s standards) and immaculately maintained property. Great bathroom and shower with all the accoutrements. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Nespresso machine for breakfast (a godsend!). Quiet location 15-minute walk to everything in Amsterdam and close to a bus stop if you’re not inclined to walk. Easy to reach from the train station even with 2 large roller bags in tow. It was great to sit on the roof deck and watch the boats go by. Smart TV and powerful WiFi (I was able to stream with my Amazon Fire stick) to relax a bit after a long day of visiting. The houseboat is steady and doesn’t rock or sway. I would definitely stay again There’s nothing we didn’t like.
- Christine (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our house boat accomodation - Roomy, lots of character. Bed comfy and excellent hosts. Entry was a little unkept (overgrown)
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Jon (10/5): Perfect stay in Amsterdam - Great location, comfortable, lovely owners, perfect Nothing
- Marko (10/5): - Dont know where to start, if someone dont apprichiate that much details that lead to perfect accomodation with all what u can imagine to have in "apartman", that means he never did anything on his own. Kudos to the owner
- buntz (10/5): Houseboat Heaven - Anna’s houseboat was a wonderful experience. The hosts were very helpful and we had everything we required. A great way to enjoy Amsterdam. Nil
- Brendan (10/5): Perfect little Houseboat. - The location was perfect, nothing like living right downtown easily accessible to everything. The place was extremely clean and the owners even helped store our luggage as we arrived early and left late. They were incredibly nice and went out of their way to make our stay the most comfortable. It was a little hot at night but the fans helped circulate the air. Otherwise the place is really nice.
- Brynleifur (10/5): A great spot in the center of the city! - Its amazing place, great location and really cozy.
- Andrea (9/5): Unique place to stay, enjoyed it very much - It was a convenient walk to so many of the places we visited in Amsterdam. Extremely spacious...and roomy. The deck on top was a great spot to sit and have lunch and watch the boats go by. It was challenging to keep it cool while avoiding the a/c. The hatches let in a good air flow combined with a bunch of fans, but when it rained they had to be closed.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulously quirky in a great location
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Patio set to sit out on top of the boat.
- Matthew (10/5): Authentic houseboat charm in convenient location close to Central Station with local flair. - Fantastic ambiance in convenient location. Comfy bed, refreshing rainfall showerhead, and effective A/C on the rare days you need it in Amsterdam. Easy walk from Central Station, close to Nieuwmarkt, the Artis Zoo, some of Amsterdam's best cocktail bars and most beautiful canals. Easy for tourists, but also with access to local flavor. The houseboat itself is brimming with character, and the service is outstanding. The only thing I disliked was leaving
- Mcshane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (10/5): Best part of our trip, Anna Houseboat! - Everything. The location, exterior rooftop table, sauna, bikes for daytrips & the hosts made us feel at home.
Perhaps our favorite place we’ve ever stayed, honestly a great homebase for visiting Amsterdam.
- Aaron (8/5): Very good - Good location, near to all the tourist spots. Having the bikes to use was also a huge bonus for me. I was able to explore pretty much anywhere I wanted in the city with ease. I did have a small maintenance issue that took a bit longer to be resolved than I would have liked.
- Lisa (10/5): Fabulous way to spend time in Amsterdam - Fabulous facilities in the houseboat - my Dad said it was one of the best showers he had ever had! Lovely extra touches like champagne on arrival, beer in the fridge and fruit bowl meant the hosts go above and beyond - my parent were thrilled with their stay. They were a little worried about the access on the initial directions to the boat from a safety perspective but once they realised the alternative access they were much more comfortable.
- Michelle (10/5): The boat is stunning and in a great location so peaceful and quiet , the welcome from dawn was great and we’ve travelled - Absolutely everything Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brent (9/5): Superb - We’ll set up
Easy access to main attractions in Amsterdam and trains None
- Susan (10/5): Lovely houseboat with great deck view and quiet, convenient location! - Convenient but quiet location with great view from deck. Very helpful, kind, and gracious hosts. Room to spread out and comfortable. Sauna is great after a long vacation with lots of walking. You can pretty much walk anywhere downtown in 30 minutes or less. We didn’t even need to use the metro during our 3 day stay.
- Nielsen (9/5): Superb -
- Keith (10/5): A uniquely Amsterdam experience. - What a find. Great and unnique experience. Would love to return. Nothing
- Cora (10/5): Highly recommend and would love to come back! - Clean, comfortable, charming, and in a great location. Felt very welcomed by the host and loved the rooftop terrace. Only negative thing was that it was a bit light at night, but not that bad. Everything else was perfect!
- Rosemary (10/5): Exceptional - The boat is very well equipped and had been very nicely fitted out. It was not possible to cover all windows at night so if you need to sleep in a dark place then bring a face mask.
- Stevens (10/5): A perfect, dream-come-true kind of stay! - Absolutely everything! Charming, comfortable, clean with thoughtful touches from the welcoming host! We were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the bed was—amazing sleeps! The sauna was such an amazing bonus after a long day of sightseeing and exploring. Plus the rooftop patio made for a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. And the location was superb—convenient spot, super walkable to all the major attractions yet so quiet and peaceful! No complaints, no negatives. Just perfect!
- Liam (10/5): Beautiful houseboat - The houseboat is stunning and set in a really great location. The hosts are brilliant and we will most definitely be looking to stay here for future visits.
- Sophie (10/5): Perfect for a lovely stay in Amsterdam - Very enjoyable stay in an original setting, comfortable and close to the city but without the noise!
Our hosts were very welcoming and we would highly recommend Anna’s Houseboat.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Thijs & Dawn were very welcoming. Houseboat Anna is very special, central to the City, but peaceful at night. Loads of attention to detail made our stay one to remember. We will come again.
- Glenn (8/5): Great value -
- Holly (9/5): It was a lovely, relaxing stay. The sauna was great. Location was ideal for us. - Only 15mins from the main train station. Can’t fault it.
- Coryoh (9/5): Warm welcome for a peaceful one-night stay - Greeted by host and given information for everything in the boat. Cabin was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. Location was a little difficult to find for my driver and not the most convenient to access downtown.
- Yandell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amy (10/5): Spacious and quirky boathouse in the heart of the city - Owners are incredibly kind. I was able to check in early and cute decorations for my birthday were put up in my honor! The location was the main draw for me, but there are honestly so so many wonderful details about the place that make it special. The owners have truly thought of everything a traveler would need, from umbrellas and bicycles to use, to an espresso machine and rooftop bistro set for romantic nights. Thank you both for such a gorgeous stay!
- Wescott (10/5): Loved our stay and would return and recommend to others - We loved the fact that the houseboat was clean, centrally located, friendly staff, and helpful in all our needs. Nothing
- Julie (10/5): We enjoyed a great stay in a lovely property in the vibrant city of Amsterdam! - It’s a unique and well thought out property, comfortable and cozy. Loved the sauna and outdoor deck space. Made good use of the little kitchenette for breakfasts and evening snacks. Location was walkable from train station and most historic parts of Amsterdam. A stay at Anna Houseboat is a special experience!
- Anthony (10/5): Wonderful stay - Anna the host was great !
- Naomi (10/5): The coolest place to stay! - This was such a lovely experience for
My partner and I - the host was so welcoming and helpful. I liked how different our stay was and how central we were. Nothing at all.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Caleb (10/5): Gorgeous place to chill for a few days. Sleeping on that houseboat healed my soul. - Loved the homely feel and the quirk of the accomodation Nothing
- Joanne (10/5): Would highly recommend the Anna Houseboat! - Such a unique experience to get to stay on the Anna Houseboat. Our host was very welcoming and informative, the boat itself was so interesting and thoughtfully restored, boat was very clean and comfortable, location was an easy walk from Central Station and super fun to sit on the rooftop and wave to the tour boats going past as they turned up the canal. We loved it!!
- Alan (10/5): When in Amsterdam try a unique stay on the water - Unique accommodation experience within short walking distance to the Central Station and old town center. Has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Well decorated interiors and good amenities. The exterior presentation can be better. For example spider webs and weeds can be cleaned. On the day leaving there was a large van parked almost completely blocking entrance to the accommodation.
- Kathryn (10/5): Excellent accommodation and will definitely be back -
- Nicholas (10/5): Unusual - Spacious, quaint, very pleasant ambience, loads of towels. A little out of the way
- Alyse (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edward (10/5): Memorable - It is a unique and memorable experience living on a houseboat in Amsterdam. Good location near Central Station and within a short walk from city centre. The apartment is larger than most hotel rooms and contains all the facilities one would want. The small patio on the deck is a fantastic place to watch the sunset, have a drink and wave to the tour boats as they enter the canal. Nothing
- Candice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (10/5): It was a very unique and fun experience to stay on a houseboat. - The host was communicative, prompt and helpful. The small rooftop patio was spectacular, and the accommodations were very unique and beautiful. Location was great - very quiet but still close to Amsterdam Centraal. ventilation - it could get a little stuffy on a hot day, but the host turned on the AC, which helped a lot.
- Kevin (10/5): A beautiful stay in an authentic houseboat in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. - The room was spacious and exactly as described. The bathroom was huge and lovely. What stood out was the extra small touches provided by the hosts - coffee and coffeemaker, dishes, glasses, food in the refrigerator, and especially the welcome Prosecco served in an ice bucket. It was really lovely. Maybe I would have wanted a location on one of the three ring canals, but this location was excellent. Nothing was really more than a 15 minute walk away. Finding it was easy, and sitting on the top deck with wine in the afternoon and watching all the boats go by was a treat that you don't always find on the three ring canals. And it was also quiet at night.
- Angela (10/5): Houseboat Anna and our hosts were everything we could have hoped for an more, a very special place to celebrate a signif - The owners are so welcoming and left so many thoughtful touches for us. The boat itself is so beautiful and moored in such a convenient location for everything. The recommendations made were brilliant for local dining and our favourite thing was to sit outside on Anna’s deck, sipping drinks and watching the boats go by. Nothing at all. We would happily return tomorrow if we could.
- Richard (10/5): Felt like it couldn’t get more Dutch and we were in the very center of Amsterdam. - Honestly, what’s not to love about this boat? You’re on a 100+ year old ship that has a rich history in how it became what it is today. Our host was fantastic. So friendly and welcoming and learned a lot. It is exactly like advertised and then some. Beautiful, modern amenities with a very nautical and maritime touch making it a cozy and warm environment for us to stay in. Get it while you can! There seriously was nothing we didn’t like about this property!
- Michelle (10/5): A cool space with all the amenities we needed, plus Thijs and Dawn were very accommodating and helpful! -
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Osman (10/5): If you want to rest in privacy, Anna is your place - Central, quiet, restful None
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb -
- Katharina (10/5): Exceptional - Nothing
- Robert (10/5): Perfect for 2 for 4. Days - No food. Large, beautifully done room, great bathroom, big sauna we didn't use. Close to train station, trams, busses, metro. Be aware cooking is not allowed by law. Great rooftop deck to watch canal boats go by. No issues
- Daniel (8/5): Fantastic city and this was a great place to explore it from - Amsterdam is about water, isn't it? - Great location. A spacious cabin and separate bathroom - also rooftop seating area for an evening G&T. Very nice experience to be on the water. I would recommend to a friend. The host was welcoming and provided a complimentary bottle of prosecco! It was great to be offered the use of a couple of bikes but they were in need of a bit of work and were uncomfortable to ride. We let the host know and he was gong to attend to it.
