Guest Reviews
- angeline (8/5): Glamping at Chaltén Camp: waking up to Fitz Roy at your doorstep, with just enough comfort to make Patagonia feel wild y - Beautiful location
Food was excellent
Service staff were very nice
View of Fitzroy . We didn’t have great weather so we just got a short peek once over 3 days 1. As we were end of season it was a little too cold at night. We had to keep the fire going to stay warm
2. Good place if you are driving . Otherwise it’s inconvenient
3. About tight for 3 people
- Jon (9/5): Great food, location and vibe. - Super staff. Very friendly and welcoming Fire didn’t light first night so very cold in room. Sorted for the subsequent days.
- MARIO (8/5): muy buena experiencia en glamping, con muy buenos servicios - fue nuestra primera experiencia en glamping, nos gusto y creo que la repetirimos
- Katsiaryna (10/5): Absolutely best option in El Chalten! Very cozy but thought through, and the food is unbelievable! - Absolutely stunning location, great attention to detail, lovely staff and amazing food
- Sandy Xiaodan (10/5): Highly recommend - The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The grounds and surroundings were absolutely stunning—truly the best we’ve seen in any glamping experience. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options. They also arranged transportation for our hike through their recommended hiking company, which made everything seamless and stress-free. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful setting with exceptional service. None
- Claire (10/5): We didn’t want to leave. - Everything about the Camp was exceptional. It exceeded our expectations in all regards. The people, the food, the views, the service, the rooms (and their delicious rose scent). Wonderful.
- Itai (10/5): -
- Anna (9/5): - If you are looking for a remote place to stay, this is the one!
Very friendly and organized staff. Delicious food and cozy domes.

- Jean-Luc (10/5): - Le côté très cosy et le personnel, exceptionnel, gentillesse
- Mayra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erne (9/5): Superb -
- Lorraine (8/5): A wonderful unique experience in the Patagonian wilds, with excellent cuisine and very friendly caring staff - Unique experience in the Patagonian forest with views to Mt Fitzroy - amazing food and wait staff 3km along a very poor gravel road with no transport except an expensive US$20 taxi each way
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katelyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Viktoria (4/5): Did not meet expectations - Unfortunately, our stay at Chalten Camp did not meet our expectations.
Given the high price point and the camp’s positioning in the “luxury/glamping” category, we anticipated a seamless experience and unforgettable moments – especially when compared to similar offerings in remote locations worldwide.
After three nights with perfect weather and stunning surroundings, the experience at Chalten Camp was, unfortunately, the sole disappointment of our visit to El Chaltén.
One major issue was the apparent lack of organization and professionalism among the staff. The team seemed consistently overwhelmed, resulting in limited guest interaction, frequent apologies for delays or inconveniences, and, in some cases, behavior that felt unprofessional or even unfriendly. Throughout our stay, there was no identifiable point of contact, manager, or team leader on-site, leading to an unstructured and, at times, unpleasant guest experience.
The quality of the meals in the main dome also fell short of the standards expected at this price level. While the breakfast and dinner offerings might have been acceptable at a lower price point, they did not reflect the premium experience we were hoping for.
El Chaltén itself is a magical destination with a strong sense of community that is palpable throughout the town. Unfortunately, this warmth and sense of connection did not carry over to our experience at Chalten Camp.
- Sue (9/5): Superb - The staff were wonderful and the accommodation was really great.
- Mark (10/5): A sensational experience from start to finish. - What can I possibly say that will do this place justice. It's barely glamping, feeling like 95% hotel. The staff are exceptional, which is a real achievement as they must feel more exposed to their guests than most regular hotels.
The food, again, exceptional. The room, views & shared spaces all doubly so.
We had some slight concerns about hot water and bathroom facilities which were absolutely dashed.
The log fire, the hot-water bottles, the feeling of seclusion... All just absolutely first class. Sadly we were not too lucky with the weather but if you go and you ARE, I imagine you would be looking for a way to rate this place 11/10. We didn't have this issue, but several of the cabins might feel a bit exposed. Enroute to the main dome took us past another room / dome where you could see right into the bedroom. Whilst we had a tremendous experience start to finish, we did think if we'd been put in a different spot it might've been a different story.
The tour partner they work with were exceptionally more expensive than other equivalent options.
- Aldo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Spinthouraki (10/5): Exceptional - It was an excellent glamping experience. The staff was very helpful and kind! It was much appreciated that they accommodated our request for the late check in and they also provided information for the mountains near the camp. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and cozy. The food was tasty. Totally recommended!
- Nathaniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - We had the best time here!! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The food was out of this world delicious! The area was so beautiful to explore and close to hiking trails. The staff made a fire for us every night and put hot water bottles to heat our bed. We had a beautiful time in our clean, cozy, stylish room enjoying a view of Fitz Roy and the beautiful surroundings. Thank you so much Camp Chalten!!!! P.S. They gave us champagne for our anniversary! Such a nice little surprise!! 🫶🙏☺️
- Peter (9/5): Superb - One of the only places in Chaltén where you can wake up looking at Fitzroy. And the rooms are incredibly cozy, each with their own wood burning stove. Absolutely loved it here.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (9/5): A true getaway - An amazing place and atmosphere, great hospitality, great food! The only reason for not giving a full 10 review to this amazing place with sincire management and staff, is that he reception/resto area was very cold during both breakfast and diner. Perhaps the weather did not favor our stay, but the eating area had 2 furnaces that could have been kept burning in such weather conditions, they were mostly not, although were started swiftly when asked - you unfortunately finished your meal before it had an effect (having diner in full hiking gear was not the most comfortable solution). In any other location this would matter more, here it is a minor issue. For sure would come back and recommend to all 🙏👍
- Loan (8/5): Very good - Location, beautiful interior design, great views It was COLD, huts had no heating. Stove ran out of wood. Hot water didn’t run long enough for shower, no food or beverage allowed inside of tent
- Sofie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (10/5): Highly recommended to stay there again!! - Amazing!!! it was my first time glamping. I would say it was the best location, away from small town. Enjoyed nature and walked local hiking trails. Staff were very helpful and friendly!!
- London (10/5): A very special place - The little details to make you feel like home (hot water bottle, evening teas, fire on at the end of the day..)
The vibes of the place and the location also make the place special. In the middle of the woods, away from El Chalten main streets. Liked it all really! The price may be seen a little bit expensive but it's definitely worth it. We were looking forward to coming back to our dome after a day hiking. As the place is in the woods and away from the main streets, having a car is a real plus. The place exceeded our expectations
- Lauryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Drew (10/5): Exceptional once-in-a-lifetime experience - Our glamping experience at Chalten Camp was exceptional - a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The domes are so gorgeous and well setup, and the location is second to none.
The food is tasty and the quality is incredible given the camp location. Breakfast was ample and delicious, lunch packs were generous and thoughtful.
The level of service was of the highest standard. The staff are helpful and informative. It is the small things that make the world of difference; small gifts, tips and pointers.
I asked the staff if they could help to organise a special picnic where I could propose to my partner. The staff were so helpful and thoughtful and made it really perfect. I'm so thankful to them for their special care and attention. It was really beautiful.
Chalten camp is really a special place and I couldn't recommend it highly enough for a once-in-a-life time experience. Thank you to all of the staff for the special care :) The only note is that the domes are really warm during the day - as you would expect from a large tent. The staff were helpful in offering alternatives, like a hammock to sleep in outside. Unfortunately my partner was sick for the duration of the stay, and needed to stay in bed all day, which was difficult/impossible during the stay.
- Alexandra (10/5): Fantastic Stay With a View of Fitz Roy - Great location with amazing views of Fitz Roy. The facilities (our dome and the main dome) were in a very good state – spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and attentive and went the extra mile to accommodate all our needs. Great dinners (including great service from our waiter who looked after us incredibly well), very good packed lunches for hiking and good breakfasts. Highly recommended.
- Liam (9/5): Superb -
- Alfonso (8/5): A luxurious stay in a pioneer way - The Hotel is really special and has direct views to the mount fitzroy (which is not possible from the rest of el chalten btw). The staff was very kind and helpful with excursions, recomendations, and the food service. The food was delicious, simple breakfast but 3 course dinner prepared by on site chef that vary every day. A few things to keep in mind is that the location of the hotel is not in el chalten specificly, but a 10 minute drive on a dirt road. It was not a problem in our sedan car but just something to know and it was very easy to go to the city if needed.
Additionally the tents do get quite warm during the day, and windy at night; these are things that the group is working on in terms of adding windows for ventilation and providing earplugs. As the lodge continues to grow and evolve i can only imagine the experience will get better and better
