- oliver (6/5): Very clean and the owner was extremely helpful. WiFi and no windows was a pain but not a deal breaker - Very spacious and lots of helpful amenities The WiFi was basically non existent, and we didn’t realise that there was no natural light in the room
Fortemente raccomandato!

- Rachel (10/5): Outstanding hospitality in a beautiful traditional space. - The room was very clean, thoughtfully arranged, and comfortable. Everything was well maintained, quiet, and relaxing, and the space felt welcoming after long days exploring the city. An exceptional host who went above and beyond. We left home with a meaningful keepsake which was unexpected and very appreciated. We hope to come back someday. Nothing. Everything was great. 😊

The owner is very friendly and helpful and the place is very clean and equipped with everything you need. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
- Dinah Grace (10/5): -
- Shaun (10/5): Great start to our holiday in Japan! - The host, Saito was very welcoming on arrival and showed us where everything was and how to use everything. There were free drinks and snacks in the fridge for guests. We would have to stay at this accommodation again when we return to Japan in the future. Nothing
- Ismet Can (10/5): - Everything was great! Many thanks to the host.
- DOMINIQUE (10/5): - Le propriétaire était très accueillant, le logement agréable et très bien situé. Merci
- Yi-hsuan (10/5): A good choice for family. - It has everything you need.
- Ida (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay! The host is incredibly kind and thoughtful, always ready to help with useful tips and recommendations. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a generous selection of snacks, and at the end of our stay we received a sweet farewell gift.
The place is very comfortable, located in a pleasant and quiet neighborhood, and it’s especially great for families with children. We highly recommend staying here — it was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan! Nothing
- Eden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Giulio (10/5): Authentic Japanese house - This is the perfect place if you are looking for an authentic Japanese experience. The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood just steps from Sensō-ji Temple and Asakusa Station (Asakusa and Ginza lines). The apartment is located on the ground floor, offers all the comforts and is beautifully decorated. The owner is very kind and helpful, provides food and even gave some gifts to our children. Totally recommended! nothing - everything was just perfect
- Hsiu (10/5): Will come back and stay again if in Tokyo - Saito San was a great host and welcomed us on arrival. He has thought of all the amenities required during the stay along with thoughtful snacks and drinks.
The place is a great size for families and the kids will love the cupboard beds!
Location is a nice walk from Asakusa station and close to all the attractions in Asakusa. Nothing
- Angelliere (10/5): Exceptional - The owner Mr Saito was very accommodating. He also provided us with everything that we need. We got snacks to eat for free and he is an amazing host. I love the facilities in the house and the toilet is one of a kind!
The place is also near the subway and tourist spots. Walking distance from asakusa temples and shrines and also not far from Tokyo sky tree and sumida aquarium. Very convenient when you are travelling to and fro narita airport as the subway is only few minutes away that will take you directly at the airport. Nothinh
- Tomás (10/5): Exceptional - Great comfortable place for a family of 4. Very kind host and made sure we had all we needed. LOTS of amenities. The location was also great, just a 5 minute walk to Asakusa St. and very quiet. It actually felt a bit more spacious than in the pictures as well.
- Jeffrey (10/5): The Tokyo Inn is a wonderful place to stay. The location is excellent, the kitchen is well stocked and the host was ver - The room was actually like an apartment with a small kitchen.
- Inez (10/5): Our favourite accomodation on our Japan trip, would love to come back! - This inn was very cosy and felt like a traditional Japanese home. It was clean with modern technology. The location was lovely, very close to Asakusa shrine and we walked passed Tokyo sky tree and Sumida river every day on the way to the station! The innkeeper explained everything and left his bikes for us, all facilities provided and even provided a fridge full of free snacks and drinks!
- Jasmine (10/5): Lovely little quiet apartment just 10min walk from Asakusa - The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed. From snacks, to bikes, to hair products -
We were very impressed! The host was so helpful and friendly. There was nothing I didn’t like.
- Li (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Great place for a family of four! Excellent host. - Wonderful place! Very spacious compared to other options in Tokyo. Slept four very comfortably. Very gracious generous host. Lots of free snacks and drinks. The location was good but not great. 7-Eleven was about a 7 min walk away. Subway and dining options were about 10 min away.
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sonya (9/5): A hidden gem in Asakusa - The apartment was lovely and spacious as there were only two of us. Lots of freebies of food and toiletries, with an excellent host who tries hard to make everything perfect. Fun items like the musical toaster and some games are great for kids. The skytree is easily reached by foot and is best to do at night. It is tucked away so you will have to be OK walking ten minutes from the nearest main metro, but we didn't find this a problem as it is a scenic crossing the bridge.
- Tatiana (10/5): Exceptional - Very beautiful place with great amenities run by a fantastic and extremely helpful host. Highly recommended!!
- Bonne (10/5): Exceptional - A big fan of Tokyo shita-machi culture, I enjoy staying at various spots off downtown in Tokyo. This place was perfect for a family stay where me, my husband and my grown-up daughter had a pleasant stay. The place is calm, however, easily accesible to most of Tokyo hot spots. We're impressed by the range of amenities provided. The most cost-effective place that I've ever stayed in Tokyo.
- Antonin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - We absolutely loved staying in this very authentic Japanese property! The place is small but everything is so beautifully arranged and organised that it felt much larger. My kids loved the bunk beds that are built into a cupboard in the wall - it was an adventure for them to sleep there! The fridge was stocked with authentic Japanese drinks and snacks which we enjoyed trying out. Everything was incredibly clean and well organised and the host was very attentive and welcoming. The location is also really good - just 10 minutes walk across the river to the Akasuka neighbourhood. Really nothing - the place was great.
- Nampueng (9/5): Superb -
- Kenneth (10/5): Great atmosphere - The atmosphere was wonderful, the owner was super nice, the room was spacious and well furnished. The location was quiet but restaurants, subway and supermarkets were about 10 minutes walk away. The owner did provide free bicycles for use which would have made travel quicker but we didn’t use them because we had small kids.
Previously I had made a review for this hotel which was inaccurate, I had confused this hotel with another that had a similar name. This place was awesome 10/10.
- Syed (10/5): A beautiful property & the owner (Mr. Saito) took an extra mile to ensure we had a fantastic stay and provide us wit - A complete & perfect property to experience what a Japanese home feels like. The tatami mat was the highlight - love it. Nothing
- Sharon (9/5): Everything is GOOD. - Very exquisite Japanese style accommodation. The host is very friendly and patiently explains how to use the kitchen, toilet, air conditioning, heating, and toilet in the house. The house is clean & new and well equipped. A lot of snacks, cup noodles, bread, coffee, tea, etc. were prepared for us. All are free! The space is limited, and it seems a bit small for 6 adults because we have 6 suitcases. 4 or 5 people would be perfect. We stayed for 5 days and the host even provided us with new towels to change. He also prepared a lot of cleansing, skin care, and body care products. It takes about 10 minutes from the station. There is a small restaurant behind the hotel with very good food and reasonable prices. The small sofa bed is a bit soft.
- Tuyet (10/5): Wish we could have stayed longer, we will stay again! - Clean, convenient, and exceptional host! So mindful and thoughtful of his guests! Everything was perfect!
- Kieran (10/5): Great place with a great host - It was located in a nice corner of Asakusa. A bit of a walk and definitely cold during winter. But nice walk nonetheless. Host was superb and so friendly. Nothing
- Isaac (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luca (9/5): Definitely a great place to stay for a week in Tokyo! - The room is small but very welcoming and equipped with everything one needs for a short stay in Tokyo. Even in four, we had a very comfy experience. The futons are great to sleep on. The place is conveniently located near the Asakusa metro station, and the neighborhood is very quiet. The laundry room was not exceptional -- the filters of the driers were not clean, so we pulled out our dried clothes with a lost of dust on them. Notice that this is not direct responsibility of the owner, since the laundry room is that of another hotel nearby, which tenants of the room can use during their stay.
- Chris (10/5): Little gem in the heart of Tokyo - Great location, super efficient use of space, great WiFi, the possibility to prep food, the bikes
- Nancytraveller (10/5): Wonderful stay - This was a wonderful stay for our family of four.
Saito was a very welcoming host who greeted us and provided us with much useful information about Tokyo. The place was well decorated and cozy. Snacks were even provided.
Thank you Saito, we had a lovely visit! Hope to see you again!
- Nguyen (10/5): Great room, excellent location and especially the exceptional hospitality from the owner! - At the check-in time, we had greeted warmly with a map and directions to a local good food market and convenient stores. In addition, we had been provided with two bicycles and free goodies for our stays. At the check-out time in the early morning 6:30 AM, we had greeted with some meaningful gift for our stays. Exceptional reception and hospitality from the owner! None.
- Noemi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Camilla (10/5): Perfect spot for our family to stay. - Super quiet neighbourhood within 10 minutes of train station. Very clean and comfortable and our host was very hospitable and easy to communicate with
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Location is superb, train station and tourist attractions are not very far, the host is the best - he provided everything we needed and more. Everything was amazing.
- Wakaba (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rafidahr (7/5): Accessible & comfortable stay! - Good location, walking distance to subways & Asakusa area. Comfortable beds & well stocked bathroom essentials. Both airconditioner and heater available. Hot water too. Very traditional Japanese house. Value for money. Owner was also very kind and helpful! The toilet is rather small.
- Daniel (10/5): Best place in Tokyo. - We had a wonderful stay at Sakura An! The cleanliness and attention to detail were exceptional. Every corner of was spotless, and the little touches in the room made my stay truly special. I highly recommend it! 5 stars!
- Noe (10/5): Awesome stay - Hospitality, location , incredible attention Everything was perfect
- Miriam (10/5): Best start for our holidays in Japan - Room
The room was very spacious for the two of us (we had no oversize baggage) and it felt like home, since everything was there what you might need. The bathroom is relatively small compared to Western hotels, however there is nothing to criticize. Everything is separated (toilet, shower, washbasin), so that not only one person at a time can use the bathroom. The toilet was the best during our 3 weeks in Japan. Note, that the aircon might be a bit loud for you if you have to keep it running overnight. Also note, that there is no daily cleaning of the room or such. For us this was not important, but from what I read some deem it as very important.
Bed
The futons were comfy, however the pillows were a bit too thick and hard for our taste. We switched them with other pillows available in the room, so this was not a big of a problem. Note that you sleep on the Tatami floor, since this is a traditional Japanese room!
Location
The inn is located in a quiet neighborhood and around 10-15 min by foot to Asakusa Station. Also Tokyo Skytree is not that far away. If you want to stay super central in bustling Asakusa this is not the best stay for you, however, the calm nights was exactly what we looked for.
Amenities
There are a lot of them, more than we needed. We very much appreciated the cup noodles and other food/drink amenities after our long journey from Germany to Tokyo. It was a relief, that we didn't have to go out looking for food after finally arriving at the Inn. Also there are a lot of flyers provided in the Inn, if you need inspiration on what you can do in Tokyo. Also you can use bikes for free (however we didn't use them).
Host
He is a very helpful, sympathetic and friendly guy who speaks good English. Also German is possible, thanks to a translator device. He always replied very quickly to our questions via Booking during our stay and provided us with current local events (there was a bon dance in Asakusa).
ありがとうございました 。また泊まりたいです。 Just a hint, no criticism:
Some of the flyers were quite old and are maybe outdated now, due to the difficult COVID situation in which some institutions may have been closed. So maybe its worth to go through them and replace or sort out.
- Hangsarumba (10/5): Lovely stay with an amazing host. Very considerate and thoughtful. 10/10 on customer service. - Perfect location, amazing and thoughtful host. All amenities are included and a great Ryokan experience. N/A
- Yosafat (9/5): It was an exceptional stay - The room was spacious. Facilities was excellent. Host was very helpful None
- Chiung (10/5): Exceptional - The child lived very happily. The boss also sent snacks and drinks. The restaurant is very clean.
There are coin-operated washing machines and dryers behind the homestay
When leaving, the boss gave a small gift to the child
I will order next time …
- Lucia (10/5): Perfect stay in Tokyo, nice experience in Ryokan - The apartment is full of facilities, the fridge is full of snacks and drinks to get for free. The kids were crazy about all Doraemon's toys. 7 min by walk from Asakusa metro station and 10 from Asakusa old quarter.
Most of all, the owner is a fantastic person: very careful, welcoming and helpful. At the end alspgave ua some souvenirs from Japan and Doraemon! Nothing
- Jblogs (10/5): Exceptional - The host was very easy to contact through Booking messages and was very kind and generous. Highly recommended. Nothing
- Fulya (10/5): Exceptional - We have stayed 5 nights as a family of 5. The host was very friendly and helpful. The location was great, 5 mins walk to the metro and 15-20 mins walk to the Skytree and big shopping centre underneath. The house was very clean. It has a small kitchen and very nice bathroom and all the amneties. The location was very safe. There was a 7 Eleven and Family Mart closeby. If I come to Japan, I would definitely stay here again. Thanks to the host for the gifts at our check-out.
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional - This was one of my favorite accomodations in Japan. Out of all the budget 5 person accomodations we booked, miraculously the one in Tokyo ended up being what I thought to be the best deal. The host was exceptionally nice, he explained everything patiently and he was very happy to see I could understand a little Japanese which made explanations easier too. There were two bikes that we could use, a paid laundry right next door, and many extra amenities. In particular, the host left a massive amount of free snakes in the fridge and freezer as well as some cup ramen which was really generous and thoughtful of him. I was a big fan of the wardrobe rooms and in fact, it was the thing that caught my attention as it was basically identical to the kind of room the character Kagura stays in one of my favorite shows Gintama. On the topic of anime, there are a lot of funny Doraemon decorations and Doraemon inspired amenities that definitely added to the charm of this very clean and nicely located inn (5-10 minute walk from the Asakusa and Ginza lines). The wardrobe rooms could get a little hot unfortunately but I slept through it well nevertheless.
- Gabriel (10/5): Cozy home vibes in Tokyo proper - Our host went above and beyond to greet us and show us the amenities of the hotel. The room was cute and felt like a traditional homestay rather than a hotel and we felt so lucky to come home to this hotel after our long days of traveling. We were two guests and the room felt incredibly spacious. We could not have asked for a better or more central location to explore Tokyo! I've already started recommending this hotel to my friends! Nothing - truly a perfect stay!
- Werner (10/5): perfect - Very friendly and immediately availbale host, wich gave us much friendly and useful advice; The location was superb, the room well equipped and clean.
- Anonymous (10/5): Great place to stay. The owner Mr Saito was very kind accommodating. -
- Andrew (8/5): A lovely, compact, Japanese style room, with every imaginable amenity, in a quiet location. -
- Ericka (10/5): Worth it! - We had a superb stay at Tokyo Inn Sakura An! It was our first time to stay in a traditional japanese house and we were really in awe of the facilities. Place is secured and immaculately clean. Mr. Saito was very generous to provide us from complete toiletries, sleepwear, free food which was more than enough for our stay, maps and even lent us his bicycle! If we could only stay longer. Will surely book this place when we return to Tokyo. Although nearest station is an eight minute walk, we didn’t mind since we also got to exercise None
- Bleselda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saskia (10/5): Amazing stay — everything you could possibly ask for! - This was simply amazing. Everything we could possibly need was there… from adapters to brushes, toiletries, games, snacks, and even bikes! The space was traditionally Japanese and yet modern. Clean and cozy. The host was very welcoming and friendly. We would have loved to stay longer!
- Cramp (8/5): Ten out of ten, friendly owner, wonderful introduction to Japan. - It was very homely, great use of space, traditional Japanese style, lots of additional extras provided, bicycles, lovely owner.
- Sivan (10/5): Clean, beautiful and cozy - The owner is very nice and always answers quickly to our questions via booking chat.
At arriving, the aircon was already on and the room was warm. The owner showed us the place and explained everything about the room. You can see the place is well taken care of and show elements of traditional Japan. It's clean, organized and beautiful.
Our refrigerator was full of snacks and drinks, a gift from the nice owner.
Our children have lots of toys to play around and enjoy the big smart TV and YouTube.
We cook in the room lunch and can walk around Asakusa temple, which is 10 min walk.
You can also use a pair of bicycles to drive around!
We will absolutely come back to stay here again in the future! Very recommended! We loved everything!
- Mee (10/5): We are happy with the stay, enjoying the toast, snacks and instant noodles prepared by the host. - The rooms definitely better than what had been posted. The owner was so details, you get all the the amenities that you may need.
Our family truly enjoyed the stay.
Kids are fully occupied and busy with the small toys, and especially the wardrobe bedroom 😉
Thank you for the souvenir given to kids and adult.
Definitely will come again and recommend to others! Overall everything is good.
- Mohd (10/5): Exceptional - This hotel provide fewe two unit folding bicycle... So make me easy to go anywhere... With zero cost Everything is good...
- Terence (10/5): Exceptional - Love how it is tucked away from the main street; very walkable to Asakusa, Sumida Robert and Tokyo Skytree; the very convenient and free snacks and amenities, 2 bikes to sight-see with; how friendly the host is,... and a short walk to a well rated, late night ramen place. There is no washing machine.
- Tingzhu (10/5): Everything is good. -
- Lam (10/5): Perfect stay in Asakusa - The room is really big, the place were quiet and the host is really helpful and kind.
The place is about 700m away from Asakusa station and also from Asakusa center.
It has a little kitchen, modern toilet, clean shower and everything you need. You feel like home but in japanese style.
The host also gave us two bikes to use. So we could cruise around Asakusa.
We really recommend this place! Nothing! It was great!
- Ratha (9/5): Superb -
