- Gemma (8/5): Very good - Lovely Boat In a quite location. Still able to cater to some needs with a local supermarket and domino's near by. And few mins walk to the trams. To city station...
- Aimi (9/5): Suitable for fun short stay, lovely sun spot! - Perfect location for my visit, great views over the water. Good use of space, clean and very quirky! Scary step on to the boat, no use of the TV that is shown in picture and Wi-Fi connection does not work well inside.
- Francesco (8/5): Very good -
- Dawn (5/5): Good location but accommodation let us down. - Location, shower. Only 1 lumpy pillow each. A musty spell in the accomodation. Poor lighting with 7 lights and 2 lamps not working so lounge area was very dark , of which we told the accommodation owner of and they said they would fix asap but we waited 2 days for nothing to happen, a very poor response. Also, no instructions inside the accommodation for t.v or recycling or rubbish. Floor in the shower area was slippery at times which was a concern.
We also had people pass our door with no warning on the boat on a couple of occasions.
- Gemma (8/5): Very good - Loved sitting outside, taking in the vibe during either the day or night.
- Vera (9/5): I chose this for the location but it’s worth a visit for its own sake. Would love to learn more about the history of the - Nothing beats the feeling of staying on a ship. The soft waves. The sense of being in between worlds. The sense of history. And then to find a very comfy stylish 2 story adventure place to sleep and stay in; I wish I had had more time, and sunshine. nifty little kitchen, lots of place to put things down, good shower. Some lights didn’t work; it would have been nice with an extra blanket, the bed sags a bit.
- Ali (9/5): Superb - The heating system is not very good
- David (9/5): Fab stay aboard the M/S Svalbard - Really fantastic experience to stay on the boat in Amsterdam. Enjoyed it immensely and would go back again in the future without hesitation. Location is great, just outside the city centre but close to a bus and metro stop, so it’s ideal for exploring. Very warm and cosy inside and it had a great home away from home feeling. Beautiful area on deck to admire the view in the morning with a coffee or in the evening with a wine. Overall, really enjoyed it.
- Deborah (2/5): Never. Again. - Location was ok, close to the tram stop, 15 min into the city centre. I honestly don’t understand how this place has such good reviews.
Let’s start from the light upstairs not working, arriving in the evening with our luggage and having to walk downstairs with our phone light. Fun!
Let’s carry on with the most stained sofa I’ve ever seen.
Then the hair in the bed. So-much-hair. Good that we had long pjs.
Weird staines on the stool in the bathroom.
You get one towel per person, one! that you have to shuffle between the loo and the shower room, ‘cause you use the same towel for your face in the morning and your privates later on.
No shower gel. We asked but got nothing so we used hand soap.
Limited toilet paper.
No electric stove to cook but only a microwave and chipped plates that I had to wash before use.
Nespresso machine (with a post it that said “leaking?”), but no coffee pods, kettle but no tea.
Then tv with no signal, WiFi with no signal, the dead plants.
I messaged the host right away, about the hair, the lack of towels, the shower gel, the missing coffee (we had our own and our moka pot but with no stove we couldn’t make it). Received a reply the next morning requiring pics of the bed (fair enough, I sent it over), promising that they spoke to the cleaners to get us one extra towel (one! For two people), and that they would try and find us some pods. Then, nothing.
Save your money and book at a hotel, not worth it.
- Brenna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Morgan (10/5): Located right next to a city beach in the heart of Amsterdam this boat is a great option for someone looking for a diffe - Beautiful boat with a great location.
- Joseph (7/5): Good -
- Johanna (10/5): Unique and special experience, bless yourself with it! - Perfect lifechanging get-away. Such a special and unique stay. The boat is beautiful and large. The view is amazing, the rooms are peculiar in a great way. We danced on the deck on a beautiful sunny day. Everything is clean and modern It is just a very amazing and unique venue. What did I not like? Not a lot? Could have been closer to everything, making traveling times to the rest a bit better.
- Bartosz (9/5): Great Adventure! - Great location in quiet place only few foot steps from city center. For everyone who like to spend some romantic moments on a boat. Friendly and supportive Host. It was a great adventure! We missed wine glasses
- Gerry (8/5): Very good - Beautiful views, staff very efficient message back very quickly, quirky and very spacious.
- Saverio (8/5): wonderful experience, I recommend it to everyone!!!! -
- Steve (8/5): I’d stay there again - The cleanliness is really good, the quirkiness is fun, the quietness and privacy from the centre is great. The shower is brilliant, The heating is great, the bed is comfortable, enough space for kids to play. Bus stop close by is handy, 15mins into central station, a couple of stores 10min walk away. Next to the ferry crossing too Nothing really I didn’t like, However the top floor lights didn’t come on, faulty switch I think, easy fix, not an issue for me travelling alone but could be an issue for a family arriving in the dark, Tv didn’t have any reception, again not an issue for me but possibly for a family with kids. Patchy Wi-Fi in places (it’s a metal ship so understandable) but worked well in the main areas.
- Timea (9/5): It was a unique experience and we had a wonderful time. - Nice location, a different accommodation then a simple hotel room. It’s a little bit remote from the center area, but you have a nice view, terrace and you can enjoy living on a boat! 😁 There are some area in the accommodation that could have been cleaner, and when there is bad wheather, it’s a little cold, but the bedroom is warmer.
- Marko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ali (9/5): Superb -
- Astra (7/5): Good - Host was fantastic. Breakfast could have been served. We paid for b&b. No food offered.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (8/5): Unique and fun to be there - Location, unique, clean, quiet, friendly staff Two mattresses kept sliding apart, was like sleeping on a hill.
- Maximilian (8/5): Very good - Michael was such a pleasant host and my friend and I really enjoyed the few days in Amsterdam. Especially the musical exchange and listening to a few of his vinyl discs were amazing. The boat is close to public transport too and the view at night is simply gorgeous. Plus, since it's a little more remote it was soothing after coming back from the city's bustle I didn't realise the boat was rather for couples then friends because I overlooked the open bathroom. It was still a beautiful bathroom though. It was an expensive trip for us students too so that the colour of the boat and railing was flaking off was a bit of a bummer. Some incense/joss sticks would be a great addition to the toilet
- Anonymous (4/5): Disappointing -
- Janis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oskar (7/5): Special location, location with character, no care by people who own this location - The welcome was great — didn’t expect to be picked up by a host, but we met spontaneously and I was taken care of although the person was busy. It was nice. The location is really great, and the sphere of the ship is also great (if ships are your thing). Overall the facility has a lot of character, and most things work just fine. The cleanliness of the shower head was unacceptable, and even although I complained it’s not clear if someone takes care of it. If you are on a trip where you need the WiFi, my room was really not suitable for using it and I ended up going elsewhere.
- Richard (8/5): Great Experience - Open kitchen and living area, downstairs bathroom and shower - Modern fittings.
Loved that it was on the water.
The host was knowledgeable and very nice, gave me a bicycle to go for a spin through amsterdam.
Not to mention the bottle of wine on arrival!
- Philippe (9/5): Good experience and boar owner very nice ! - Very friendly welcoming, easy access to each great size bedroom and boat shuttle very close to. Nothing bad.
- Mishaal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcin (8/5): Good option for original and convenient lodging in Amsterdam - Well designed, spacious apartment with small kitchenette (no boiling plates, only microwave) and separate bedroom. Big bathroom incl. hairdryer - plenty of space for bathroom items. Heated - we have had a cold weather and it was reasonably warm inside. There is also A/C unit in the bedroom. Great view on IJ river - you may sit at a table on the deck and watch marine traffic. There is a bakery just few steps away and a supermarket (AH) within a walking distance. Very well connected by public transport to all the points of Amsterdam important for tourists. There are single mattresses in a double bed with a gap between them. The apartment was clean but windows were dirty (I've cleaned them by myself to get an unobstructed view on IJ river from the inside). Withered plants could be removed. Two of the three available table lamps were lacking light bulbs. It would be also useful to get short operation instruction for the apartment (which coffee cartridges fit coffee machine, how to adjust heating, where the trash bin may be emptied, etc.)
- Akina (8/5): wonderful stay with the friendly host there :)! thank you - very nice decoration and design! cleanliness is good!!! the location is a bit far away from town but is okay
- Rebecca (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (1/5): nothing like the photos and it stunk of faeces - location on KNSM island the photos do not represent the room.
the bathroom clogged and flooded, once rectified the room stunk of faeces and we had to leave after one night. We still don’t have the remaining refund as promised
- Mustafa (7/5): Would come back in the summer - Quiet, cozy and intimate location No heating in the living room
- Pete (10/5): Breakfast would’ve been awesome everything else was fine bottle of wine was a nice touch - No Breakfast offered unfortunately Breakfast would’ve been awesome everything else was fine bottle of wine was a nice touch
- Karen (9/5): Very good. would stay again. - Unique accommodation. Bed very comfy. Plenty of hot water. Lovely big shower. Aircon for heat or cooling. Kitchen equipped but we did not cook. Good, peaceful location near a tram line to get into the centre. Enjoyed sitting on deck watching the view on the waterway. Owner on hand if anything was needed. Very enjoyable stay. Nothing.
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Mj (7/5): Great location - Location In ‘engine room’: Dead plants, broken door to freezer, coffee machine did not work, no bath soap or shampoo. Shampoo was provided after requests.
