Adam (10/5): - Areni Lodge is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed in my life. It felt like a dream. Tucked into a quiet, storybook village with the world’s most breathtaking monastery perched on a hill just twenty minutes away, the lodge sits beside a gently winding river and is surrounded by vineyards that seem to breathe history and stillness. But the real magic is in the details—the hand-built picnic tables, the winding walking paths, the fresh pastries and homemade wine, and the in-progress pergola that somehow already feels like it’s always belonged there. Every inch of the property feels like it was created with love. And strangely, beautifully, it feels like home. Len, the host, is always building something—always imagining, always creating. His vision extends beyond hospitality into something more generous and rare. There’s a small world here that he’s carefully curating for children and families, a dreamscape in progress. The rooms are spacious and warmly designed, each with a wide balcony overlooking the river and the ancient monastery above—a sentinel that’s watched over the valley for centuries. We shared beautiful conversations. I’ll carry those with me. I’ll carry the stillness of the hill, the taste of the wine, and the feeling of belonging. How could I ever forget?

They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Armenia in general and the local highlights in particular. Communication is super easy in perfect English, which is a rarity in Armenia. The hotel is a home from home, in a garden next to a river with magnificent views of the magnificent mountains. I stayed at the Areni Lodge for three nights and highly recommend it. Nothing to complain about!

susan (10/5): - Areni Lodge is a charming eco-lodge with a fantastic location. The proprietors are friendly, welcoming and very knowledgable. The Lodge, on the Arpa River, is walking distance from wineries, restaurants, the main village area and the magnificent 14th century church. The view from the deck over looking the river puts you close to nature, we saw the Ibis and various birds of prey. There are many things to do in Vayots Dzor region and should not be missed. Breakfast was healthy and delicious and the beds are comfortable. Highly recommended!

The owners made our mini break special and ensured that we were comfortable, going over and beyond and exceeding our expectations. The Areni Lodge certainly is a hidden Armenian gem, I would advise any traveller to brighten their vacation by booking this hotel, you won't be disappointed! Armineh and Len we will be returning!! I cannot identify any negatives whatsoever.

Nikolai (10/5): There is now a real hotel in Areni - A wonderful place near the cave and the Areni factory. It is very good to read books and admire the natural beauty by the mountain river near the hotel. The hotel has excellent modern rooms according to all standards of convenience and quality, a chic bathroom with a jacuzzi (well, if you have a Deluxe room::)). Walking around the entire territory there are many different interesting locations (khachkar, different varieties of grapes, tables under the trees...) The hosts are polite and hospitable, always working, and there are a lot of plans for development around the hotel. In general, I recommend it. Now in the village of Areni there is a great place to stay! The hotel is new, no shortcomings noted.

Ryan (10/5): Amazing hosts, clean rooms, perfect location, and a gorgeous view! - The hosts are a husband and wife team that treat you like family the moment you walk through the door. They gave us a full tour of their property, answered many of our questions related to Armenia's history, and even gave us a free bottle of their homemade wine made from the famous Areni grape before we left. Also.. did I mention the location?? The view from our bedroom would have made you think we were in Sedona, except even better it was Armenia! The hotel was right on a beautiful river situated below a huge and gorgeous cliff, it was our own little corner of paradise. The hotel was also situated close to other wineries, restaurants, etc. (one of which we had a private cooking class with!). Lastly, the room itself was super clean, the beds were comfortable, and the room let in great light along with a balcony that allowed us to sit out and enjoy our coffee in the morning while looking out to the river and cliffs. They even had a gym if you wanted to work out! This is definitely where we will be staying when we come back! There was nothing we did not like. It truly was a great stay!
Bronwyn (9/5): Tranquil and relaxing stay in a comfortable room at a superb location - The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable. The lodge is in a beautiful location with wonderful views from the private balconies. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. A restaurant for evening meal would have been good but we did have good recommendations for options from the owner and had a nice meal at Ar Areni Restaurant. I think that they are still sorting out some issues with the lift to upper floors but the owner is helpful taking bags up and down and the king suite is in ground level.
Kim (10/5): Fabulous - Fabulous hosts, was lovely spending time with them. They are very informative on Aremina culture and have lots of community development projects. Very passionate about the natural environment of their spacious property. A joy to visit

Michael (10/5): You don't want to leave! - The hosts make you a part of the place and you don't want to leave. The nature and the property are breathtaking. In the morning there is the best personally prepared and traditional breakfast. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Thanks for the hospitality.

Matt1111111 (10/5): Exceptional - The whole experience was just beautiful. The story behind the building and why the owners are there is inspiring. It's not often you stay in a place that not only excels in hospitality but also has a genuine sense of purpose. Everyone was so friendly, the room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was amazing, and the overall service, conversation, and vision were excellent. Would have happily stayed another day just to explore the grounds and pick the fruit in the orchard. Thank you both for a wonderful experience, we wish you all the best and hope to cross paths again. Needing to leave.
