• Robb (10/5): Great apartment in an exceptional location - The apartment is very typical of the 13th district – it’s in a nice, upmarket, residential street in a quiet and attractive neighbourhood. If you’ve never stayed in the 13th district before, it’s very Viennese but much quieter and more urbane than the central areas. The apartment is a short walk - 15 minutes - to Schönbrunn and the Hietzing U-bahn station, or there is a tram stop just a few doors down which will also take you direct to the U-bahn in two short stops, or onwards to Westbahnhof or Mariahilfer Strasse if you don’t want to change to the U-bahn. There are multiple shops and restaurants located nearby. The apartment is wonderful – an excellent living room area with a large sofa and two spare beds, separate dining room to the front of the building, bedroom with a large double bed and good storage, kitchen with fridge, cooker etc, and a good size shower room and separate toilet. There is a private garden with multiple seats, table and recliners and it’s a lovely space to watch the birds. The living room and bedroom were located to the rear of the property and were blissfully quiet. The hosts were welcoming and happy to share their extensive knowledge of Vienna. Walter spoke excellent English, for anyone worrying about the language barrier. The hosts live in the building but the apartment has a separate door and garden, so you have privacy while also having the hosts nearby if you have any questions. The apartment was well equipped with towels, cleaning equipment, iron, hair dryer etc. – there was nothing we missed. Overall, highly recommend – the apartment is attractive with all the amenities you need for a holiday and the location is one of the best in the city.
