Susana, the owner and host, is lovely and hospitable — she made us feel right at home. The hotel feels brand new: rooms are warm and comfortable, beds are cozy, showers have great pressure, and breakfast was excellent. We traveled with two small kids and they loved it too. The location is quiet with great views, and with a car you're under 10 minutes from coffee shops and restaurants. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We also really appreciated being able to have dinner at the hotel, which was perfect for us. Above all, we would like to highlight the exceptional hospitality of our wonderful host, Susana (we hope we spelled the name correctly 😊). She provided us with many detailed recommendations and great tips for excursions, and we truly enjoyed our conversations with her. This hotel will always remain in our best memories, and we would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

Despite speaking little English, she takes care of you, prepares a great breakfast starting early (7am) and also prepares dinner if you wish. The rooms itself were spacious but basic and had good view over the lake. This was perfect for us to be honest - we were looking for a convenient place to stay but were not planning to spend a lot of time in the hotel itself and then this hotel has all you need :) Rooms were a bit basic and location was far from the city center with no uber available (but Susana knew an alternative taxi service), good to be aware!

• Felicia (8/5): Beautiful Property and Views - This is a beautiful and clean property with parking. Our room had an expansive view of the lake. Staff was friendly, WiFi was good, and hot water in the shower was decent. It is located a bit out of town, but in a quiet and peaceful area. Breakfast is served at 7:00am, which is late for people heading early to Perito Moreno Glacier. Fortunately, they were able to prepare an early takeaway breakfast for us. The property seems to be new. It's nice, but the walls are rather thin and we were able to hear people walking down the hallway.

And the included breakfast was exceptional (fresh coffee, scrambled eggs, assortment of meats/cheeses, a fresh fruit bowl, croissants). The host gave us maps, provided advice on where to dine, comfortable bed, spacious room, very nice bathroom (strong shower). The location is not in the center of town, which is not a problem if you have a car. For people who drive, it's ideal.

Los últimos tramos de acceso no están asfaltados pero están bien. Las habitaciones amplias. limpias y confortables y el trato de Susana inmejorable. siempre pendiente. Hemos estado como en casa. El desayuno fenomenal. Aparcamiento gratuito en la puerta. Breves escaleras para acceder, habitaciones en planta superior. Para nosotros todo fue perfecto. Susana es un amor en todo el sentido de la palabra; Su calidez, trato y atenciones nos hicieron sentir como en casa durante todo el tiempo. Con ella sostuvimos conversaciones que nos ayudaron a entender mejor la cultura de la zona y obtuvimos muy buenas recomendaciones de lugares para visitar y almorzar. También, el desayuno que se incluye con la estadía es delicioso y fresco cada día. El alojamiento está ubicado en un alto desde donde se tiene una vista maravillosa de la ciudad de El Calafate y el Lago Argentino. La facilidad está bien equipada y en excelentes condiciones estructurales. Definitivamente es un lugar que recomiendo a ojos cerrados. Como nota al margen y para la posteridad, tuvimos el privilegio de ser el primer grupo de República Dominicana que se hospeda en el lugar, algo que nos llena de orgullo. 🇩🇴🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🇦🇷

The room was very nice, with a lot of space. The breakfast is very good and varied. I would reccomend this place if you would like to visit El Calafate but you will need a car to reach the place.

Getting there with our rental car was super easy. It’s set in the most stunning area, overlooking the lake. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the warmest, kindest host — truly an angel. One morning, when we had to leave early, she woke up just to prepare fresh medialunas and coffee for us — such an incredible gesture. The breakfast the next day was just as perfect and delicious. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable — plus, of course, those breathtaking views again. The hospitality here is truly out of this world!

The rooms are spacious, designed beautifully and all have stunning views over Lago Argentino, with the most stunning lake sunsets and sunrises to wake up to. We truly felt so at ease and peace here after long days exploring the glaciers, and we can't wait to be back!!

• Bora (10/5): Exceptional - Susana - the host - was the best host of all hotels and places we stayed during our 3-week honeymoon in Argentina. She immediately made us feel like at home with her welcoming attitude and her warmth. The view from our room on the lake and the stunning environment was just breathtaking. I also wholeheartedly recommend to try the dishes on her menu for either lunch or dinner. The prices are very affordable and the food excellent and home-made. We had also asked her to prepare sandwiches for our day trip which turned out great. The breakfast she serves managed to convince us as well! We want to return - the place is amazing to disconnect, to enjoy delicious food and to take in the great views. Wifi works well and the rooms are very clean. Susana even went the extra mile and rearranged the pick-up time for our day tour the next day. I recommend La Soberana 100%!

• Judit (10/5): Wonderful stay! Looked after like we were family! - We had the most wonderful stay at Hosteria La Soberana. Our host was such a lovely lady - she looked after us like we were her family! The setting is also beautiful - stunning view across the plane, with view of the lake. Very restful and quiet - absolutely perfect, would highly recommend to anyone.

• Amy (10/5): Wonderful stay in such a clean welcoming hotel. - This B&B was a welcome treat after our 13 day road trip. It was across the lake inlet from the city of El Calafate so a short five minute car ride but away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It also was very close to our favorite restaurant we enjoyed, Rustico Asador y Parrilla. Susanna, the host, was so sweet and kind and would greet us out on the steps when we came back from our adventures. We had come from El Chalten and everything there felt dirty and so coming to Hostería La Soberana where everything was clean and well taken care of is the bit of comfort that I needed. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, a bit too firm for my liking and the sheet very stiff.

• Andreas (10/5): If you are by car, this is the place to stay! - The host, Susana, is an absolute gem - made us feel welcome and at home despite our late arrival. Stunning lake views, from the spacious room as well as the large window front dining room, where we had a very complete and lovingly arranged breakfast waiting for us. A wonderful place to stay at a 5 minute drive from the center of town. Truly, it was all perfect.

• Franziska (10/5): Great host, great breakfast, everything you need - Everything you need.. Best starting point for a trip to the glacier. Corina was an amazing host. Super attentive and welcoming. She took amazing care of us :). The breakfast was great, too. We really enjoyed our stay to the fullest and would definitely recommend and come back.

The views over the lake are sensational! The host was exceptional - informative and helpful on all the different glacier tours available and where to purchase them, local restaurants etc. Her breakfast was really delicious and enormous so we ended up packing some for lunch too! nothing

Simply delightful and she made the BEST BREAKFAST if you really appreciate homemade cooking. It might be hard to get around if you don't have a rental car.
