• Jordin (10/5): - Very cool stay in the castle walls, parking very close by. The free breakfast was great. The room was cozy and well appointed with a beautiful ottoman inspired ceiling. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and wandering the castle in the evening was amazing.

• Werner (10/5): Een voorrecht om hier te logeren - Dit hotel heeft een unieke ligging op de kasteelheuvel van Berat. Logeren middenin de historische citadel en dorpskern, met uitzicht op de omliggende bergen is een onvergetelijke belevenis. Dit authentieke hotel baadt in een familiale en gezellige sfeer dankzij de uitbaatster Efti, haar man en het personeel dat je verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk wil maken. Ontbijt zeer smakelijk en uitsluitend geserveerd met lokale producten. Speciale vermelding voor de piekfijn uitgedoste ober Adriano, een zeer aangename en behulpzame man die we voor altijd in ons hart dragen. Eigenlijk is het een voorrecht om hier te logeren ! Opmerking voor de chauffeurs: aan de ingang vd citadel is er nu een slagboom. Als je zegt dat je in het hotel logeert mag je doorrijden. Dan volgt een steile kasseiklim doorheen twee stenen poorten en op het einde is er voldoende parkeerruimte dichtbij het hotel. Het is zeker te doen.

• Petiteame (7/5): - L'accueil a été très agréable. Le parking est un vrai plus dans l'enceinte même du château et à 2 pas de l'hôtel. Les chambres sont grandes et confortables tout comme la literie. Le petit déjeuner-buffet est correct, la salle du restaurant très bruyante. Petit bémol concernant le bruit : notre chambre était directement située au dessus de la salle de restaurant et de sa terrasse. Ainsi nous avons été quelque peu dérangé par le niveau sonore engendré par cette proximité et l'insonorisation. Après avoir diner à Gorica, la remontée est rude !

À noter que l’accès à l’hôtel nécessite de rentrer dans la citadelle (après le check point) Le petit-déjeuner mériterait d’être un peu plus varié et étoffé.

The location inside the old Berat Castle is absolutely magical waking up surrounded by history and stone streets feels very special and authentic. The hotel itself is extremely clean, beautifully maintained, and full of traditional character. The interiors perfectly match the atmosphere of the castle and give a very warm, authentic Albanian feeling. The staff were exceptional: incredibly polite, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring. You really feel a family-style hospitality here, not just standard hotel service. Everyone made me feel comfortable from the first minute. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet, and the fresh mountain air made for one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time. The peaceful atmosphere at night is something I will remember. Food was also delicious fresh, homemade feeling, and very satisfying. One of the highlights is simply sitting outside in the evening and enjoying the atmosphere of the castle after most tourists leave. It feels calm, romantic, and timeless. Highly recommended for anyone who wants an authentic experience in Berat, not just a regular hotel stay. I left genuinely impressed and would absolutely come back.

• steven (10/5): Definitely worth a visit - It is so beautiful in the hotel. You really are in the middle of the castle with views over the mountains. I really recommend staying here rather than in the centre. The staff were fantastic and made special efforts to make it enjoyable. Additionally the hotel has its own restaurant which is really reasonably priced and with good quality food. I cannot say anything negative.

Nehmt doch ein paar Kleinigkeiten für die streunenden Hunde in der Burg mit und gebt ihnen ein bisschen Zuneigung... Für einen Cappuccino anstatt eines Kaffees am Morgen wurde ein Aufpreis fällig, das fande ich persönlich unangemessen. War sonst in keinem Hotel in Albanien so.

Our room was on the top floor, without a window, and had a sloped attic ceiling, which made it uncomfortable to walk around the room and the bathroom. Just go for it!!! - Berat is amazing and being located on the castle really makes a difference to wake up already in one of the main attractions of the city. The price is really fair compared to what they offer. I must say thank you for the hospitality of this place, as not only they allowed us to stay longer for the checkout since we had checked in very late in the previous night after a long car drive from Sarande, but also after 12:00 when they learned we missed the breakfast in the morning, they offered us to have breakfast before leaving. All of this with a very welcoming and gentle attitude.

Heel vriendelijk personeel, heel behulpzaam. Ze gaven veel tips voor de verdere reis. De zolderkamers zijn wel wat benauwd, daar zijn geen ramen, wel airco. De weg er naar toe is best een uitdaging.

Les musiques des années 80 au petit déjeuner, j'aurais préféré des musiques locales pour rester dans l'ambiance.

• Laurence (9/5): Hôtel plein de charme au cœur de la cité de Berat - Hôtel plein de charme en plein cœur de la cité de Berat. Un petit "château" typique. Accueil et personnel aux petits soins. Je ne peux que le conseiller si vous visitez Berat. Vous flânez tout au long de la journée dans les ruelles et la citadelle puis votre hôtel confortable vous attend à votre retour de balade. Le prix est imbattable! A proximité de tout, restaurants, boutiques typiques, bars, ... Chambre confortable (attention si vous prenez celles dans les combles, les poutres sont basses ;-)) Petit déjeuner complet pour plaire à tout le monde du sucré au salé. Parking à disposition gratuitement à côté de l'hôtel. Il manque peut-être un peu d'insonorisation dans les chambres. Mais rien de grave :-)

Small touches missing. Reception area untidy on arrival. Beds not made up daily. ( May have been a misunderstanding). Attic rooms disappointing because of low beams in ceilings and very little light.

The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, and having parking included was a great bonus. Watching the 360-degree panoramic sunsets from the top of the castle was a highlight of our trip.
