The Albanian government took over the hotel and converted it into a police station instead of a hotel. After we got there, I saw that someone had sent me a message a few hours earlier, saying that due to a sewage system issue, they were unilaterally canceling our reservation.

• Andric (3/5): Poor - Place is nice, lady at the reception is wery nice and helpfull. Room is nice and clean. The guy who works in the restaurant is: rude, rude, useless. he does not speak a foreign language and he will not use the help of a bartender who speaks English.

When we asked the staff they told us that there is one heating/cooling system for the whole building and it was put on cooling, so they could not change it just for our room. The nights could get cold sometimes.

• Nick (5/5): Beautiful location, they need to take the opportunities to upgrade the hotel. - View from hotelroom balcony was beautiful. Breakfast is standard (omelet with toast, for extra options you need to ask). Arriving at the hotel you might have the impression that it is big with lots of staff, but this is not the case. Sometimes it’s like you are alone in the hotel. The rooms are not cleaned every day. Towels are not changed and for toilet paper you need to ask. Also the shower and bed need an upgrate. Across the lake there is a event location for weddings and the music can be very (extremely) noisy. Nevertheless, if you ask the personel for anything you need, they will do it for you.

• Anthony (1/5): Extremely disappointing and completely oversold on the Booking.com website - The view and the poolside food were nice The dirty slimy green pool was only cleaned on our last day. To present a green pool to families is disgraceful, if a child was to get sick what would we do as basic services seem to be non-existent. Loud music was played late into the night by places around the hotel so sleeping was difficult. There was a wasp nest on our balcony which was not removed even after we mentioned it to staff. The aircon failed after day 2 of our stay and was not fixed which in the middle of summer is an issue. No other breakfast option other than eggs, no fruit or cereal. And worst of all they allow smoking in the restaurant, there were children and we were eating while people were smoking next to us. This hotel is tired and not maintained with no real sense of management
• Booy (1/5): Worst hotel, rude staff, no spa despite advertising with having a spa - Nothing good. At least there were no rats. Worst hotel in Albania. They advertise as a Spa hotel, but when we arrived, they had no spa. The person in the reception started with one excuse that they did repairs to the spa, and later started using the excuse that the spa is closed during the hot weather. They did not agree that this should have been communicated prior to booking (or at least prior to payment). We could not get money back after hearing the spa was closed. The staff is exceptionally rude and speaks poor English. The food in their restaurant heats up ready-made food (at least for the pizza we ordered). When we got the room, they were not finished cleaning. Later we noticed that the room was not very clean. Keycard to the room did not work either.

Restaurant Illilyria right opposite was really good, with great views and friendly staff. Check in was difficult as the guy on reception didn’t speak any English and , our fault, we didn’t realise it was cash only. Not expecting English to be spoken but would have been useful to have a translated sign with breakfast/pool times and location etc.

• Taida (2/5): We will never go there again. Huge disappointment. - The room and the balcony were large. Outdoor pool was okay. Spa center was not working, although when booking we primarily decided to book this hotel because of the spa center. We could not pay by card, they only asked for cash. They were not the friendliest and there was rarely anyone at the reception. Toilet did not look like a hotel toilet at all, also the toilet was not disinfected and for example the toilet paper had already been used. They didn't have a hotel system at all, except that the door was unlocked with a card. There was only one socket on both sides of the bed, one of them was connected to the refrigerator, so if you want to charge the phone, you have to turn off the refrigerator. Worst of all was the noise from the croaking frogs under the window and the noise from the beach bar where the music was very loud and it was impossible to sleep, so we packed up and left the hotel at midnight. Frogs were even louder than the loud music.

The indoor pool is closed and it has a very odd atmosphere without any feeling of warmth or friendliness. No one welcomes you, there is no staff around and it seems like the hotel is barely functioning. I honestly think that most reviews are fake because what they write make no sense. The hotel itself is like a ghost hotel, no one is around and nothing really works. It has a very uncomfortable feeling in it.

• Balogun (10/5): Breathtaking views, amazing 24hr facilities, lovely people. - Where do I begin, from the moment we arrived there was a man taking our suitcases and guiding us to the reception desk, a lovely lady who greeted us gave us a awesome room with an amazing view as it was available for the night ☺️, then as me and my friend had an athletics competition to attend to, they took our bags and placed them in the new room for when we got back, leaving a note at the reception desk and even placed our drinks in the fridge❤️. The views are breathtaking, peaceful, everyone was jealous back home when I uploaded pictures, honestly when I was told the Spa, indoor pool, gym and steam room where 24hr access I never smiled so much, it's an athletes dream😅. I made full use of the facilities and felt it helped aid my recovery, relax and help my performances on the Athletics Track. I recommend it to a few other athletes who booked in for their last night or two in Albania and saw them the next morning ☺️. The outdoor pool was lovely, I have a great tan returning to rainy London. I would 100% return and want to say a big Thankyou for your kindness and being so accommodating. Especially one of the gentlemen who phoned up an airport shuttle bus to take me back to the airport, it was much appreciated 🙏🏽. X If I was to be picky it would be more different options for breakfast, but other then that no other suggestions.

• Wesselink (7/5): Beautiful view - Nice pool and the most beautiful view from our room. (We had a room with castle view and it was in the middle of the water). Close to a really nice restaurant on the hill. Difficult to reach employees, breakfast wasn't really anything and the room was ok clean only the windows had a lot of dust and spiderwebs (and spiders). Also on the inside.

• Dan (5/5): Great staff, but don't recommend the experience. - The view is indeed very good. The staff was very polite. The room was not properly clean, with alot, I mean ALOT of huge spiders. A few things were broken, (in the bathroom), the TV didn't work, the WiFi was so slow that was unusable. On the common facilities, were spiders everywhere, in the bar I had to check 9 different chairs to find 2, without (visible) spiders. Unfortunately the hotel had 2 different weddings in the days of our reservation, so we had to endure very loud music until around 12h30am. Hard for us because we had a trip for lake komani next day at 5 am. For the price we paid, I was expecting a bit more.

• Aleksandra (6/5): Pleasant - The Staff was amazing, they were very helpfull and addressed all the issues immediately (changed the TV box, changed the fridge when ours was not working). The view of ROZAFA Castle was amazing. Very nice swimming pool. We were staying for 2 nights and 2 nights streight there were weddings organised in the hotel- one at the swimming pool and one in the restaurant just near to our room. We were not informed about this and didnt sleep well. No earplugs at the reception. Our tv and fridge didnt work (but were exchanged). Near to the entrance to the terrace from our room there were beanbags stored so it was very difficult to get outside. The rooms were not ready for check-in as described. The reception was empty most of the time, couldnt really address the issues to noone (maybe understaffed after the season?) Overall? We had nicer accommodation for lower price in Albania and would not recommend. The place has a communist ,,luxury" Vibe but it's really not.

Music volume like in a pop concert until 3 am, then people cleaning up and making noises without any respect for neighbours. The other night some guy using a tractor doing gardening around the "Dubai" starting midnight. The hotel was supposed to be the start for our tour to the Komani Lake with an early start. No sleep for 2 nights.

• Fogarty (6/5): Lovely staff and great pool. - Awesome pool, really lovely staff, comfy beds and good wi fi. The food served at the pool restaurant was really yum too and well priced. Unfortunately can’t give this place a high rating, as one night the hotel directly across the lake had a wedding on outside and the music was blasting into this hotel until after 3am. It was a live band with impressive speakers. We felt like we were at a festival and got no sleep :( The rooms didn’t get cleaned even though we left a ‘please clean’ sign hanging on the door. So we had to ask for clean towels. The hotel must be understaffed, there is no one at reception and everytime you need something you have to search the hotel for a staff member who then has to find the right staff member, there was a lot of waiting around.

• Heidimkoo (7/5): Good - Good service in the restaurant. Very helpful with laundry, I got to use hotel's washing machine. Nice pool, Good bed & room. Credit cards were not acceptable, only cash. They also said they take euros, but did not have change in euros at the reception (restaurant had). The place was supposed to be "luxorious" but there were tiny things that should have been fixed (shower door, the hose of the air conditioning at the balcony etc.)
• Maximilian (6/5): Good for one day/night, not more - The breakfast was delicious - no buffet, but tipical albanian dishes were served at the table, salty and sweet. We enjoyed the view on the lake and the castle. The pool is accessible at all times. We found a 2 cm layer of dust on the edge over the bed - and used silicon bra cups. In the bathroom there were several dead bugs which might be understandable since you're surrounded by nature/water.

• Christos (1/5): Dirty room, unpleasant stay, communicating with signs - The pool was decent for the kids, and the restaurant had good food with value-for-money wines. The waiter at the restaurant was very helpful in serving us, though he had difficulty in the English language. We booked a room for four (2 adults and a couple) The room was dirty. A shampoo and a couple of used hotel sleepers were left in the bathroom. Also, in the closet, there were sheets and blankets piled up as if someone had left them there in a hurry. All they seem to have done is change the sheets. Also, all night until late in the morning, local music was heard from the opposite hotel where there was a wedding, while from 3 to 4 in the night, some people were talking loudly in the corridor and could be heard. This is probably the concept of soundproofing according to hotel amenities. The reception is a small office that probably looks like a student's office. The hotel's people, except for the restaurant waiter, were speechless; they did not give us any information, neither about the breakfast nor about the hotel's rules. I don't mention the lingo because no one speaks English, so I communicated with signs and few words. They just gave us a key to a room, next to which was the room where the washing machines were for the sheets and ironing. The sheets are drying outside on the balcony, as seen in the photo. It was the most unpleasant hotel experience with our kids, and we left at 5 am the next day. It created anxiety for us, a feeling of impurity, and we couldn't get rid of it at all. In addition, the restaurant and the other services only accept cash and no card, which is completely invalid. I still wonder where are the 3 stars for the hotel. The only good thing is the pool and the view of the lake at night when it is dark and you cannot see how dirty it is.

• Jens (7/5): Would be better if there were no staff. - Pool was great 😃👍 Room was nice with a great view. TV was a good size! A lot of amenities. Cleaning lady was kind. The staff was indifferent and it seemed like they hated their jobs. Was charged more than the menu in the restaurant. Breakfast was just sad and terrible, and the waiter was impatient and rude. The food selection was as close to zero as the taste was.

• Jeroen (7/5): Amazing view, with decent rooms - The view was unlike I've had before. A sublime panoramic view of the river, mountains and castle. The airconditioning in the room was very powerful. The common areas were not air-conditioned. The rain shower was hard to keep going and I'm personally not a fan of white halogenic light. There was also very loud (Albanian) house music at the swimming pool.
• Kenneth (4/5): The pool area had cobwebs on the tables and sun beds, which were never cleaned. - The breakfast consisted of a choice of ham, cheese or vegetable omelette. For all five mornings I was there. The hotel was advertised as ‘adults only’ which is why I chose it. In fact, there were loads of very young, noisy children. Even at night you could hear them and they were always in the pool.

• Ayse (10/5): We loved it! - The staff was phenomenal. Everyone was super.nice. The waiters were excellent. The pool was very clean and very refreshing. Christina, our receptionist was very kind and friendly. She gave us great service and quick. The food was excellent. Everything was wonderful. The scenery was phenomenal. The location was excellent because we were between the city and the country right on the river next to the castle.
• Rossen (5/5): Do not think would stay there again. - that it head a riverside restaurant place. we had to climb up like 50 stairs to reach reception level. elevator works from time to time. not well cleaned at all. slippers at room were used before, so I did not get whether room had available slippers or they were not simply thrown away.
• Amelia (8/5): Great view, attentive restaurant staff. Too far to walk from town but nice to be on the river. Room was clean and spacio - Restaurant staff were lovely, views from room were amazing, room was clean and spacious It was not made clear that only cash payment would be accepted which resulted in additional 20€ being spent on return taxi to get money out to pay for the room. also only stair access which could have issues for anyone mobility impaired.

• Rossen (5/5): Passable - location on river is nice! approach to building which is on a top of a rocky hill is a bit difficult for exhausted travelers.

• Mohammed (4/5): Spacious room with a stunting view - Quite location with a beautiful view over the river . The property was managed by some elderly people and needed maintenance and deep cleaning specially the bathrooms
