• Annabelle (9/5): A lovely stay in the castle with a fantastic breakfast - It was lovely to stay in the old castle walls. The room was simple and functional. Lots of excellent nearby eateries available (would recommend eating in the castle rather than down in the old town) Breakfast was plentiful - filled croissant, fried eggs, omelettes, feta, bread, jam, salad. We were full until dinner! Driving to the hotel site was an experience - you need to be confident on steep smooth cobblestones. The hotel is also near a bar which was quiet one night but was really noisy the second night (beyond midnight) so earplugs were required.

Śniadania serwowane go stolika. Dla dzieci mleko, płatki czekoladowe. Pyszna kawa w cenie. Właściciel bardzo pomocny. Brak kotary czy kabiny prysznicowej.

Also he helped with all our requests. A very kind gentleman. The location was great we got the sunset view from the room. Also having parking was a great help too. Everything was amazing
• Mateusz (10/5): Cudowny pobyt! - Dzisiaj opuściliśmy Hotel Kalaja. Pokój był przestronny, czysty i posiadał klimatyzację (dzięki temu w nocy było ciepło). Parkowaliśmy za zamku, więc samo wjechanie tam autem było przygodą. W ciągu dnia chodziliśmy po uliczkach Mangalem i Goricy, a wieczorem gubiliśmy się w zamkowych alejkach. Rano, zjedliśmy wielkie i przepyszne śniadanie, nasze dzieci oraz my byliśmy zachwyceni. Po śniadaniu, ponownie poszliśmy na spacer i podziwialiśmy Berat z murów zamkowych. Właściciel był niezwykle życzliwy i miły. Polecamy bardzo!

• Emily (10/5): Unique comfortable stay with a brilliant included breakfast - Clean room, really comfortable single beds and pillows. The property is in the heart of the old town, close to bars, restaurants and the view point. Good air conditioning, the breakfast included was brilliant and fuelled us for a full day of exploring. If you are driving, there is free parking right next to the property up the top of the cobbled street but be wary as it’s is narrow and steep with people walking through constantly.

Petit conseil pour le parking : ne vous arrêtez ni au premier ni au deuxième portail, continuez encore un peu et un parking se trouve sur la droite. Attention toutefois aux heures de pointe : la manœuvre peut être délicate si l’on croise un autre véhicule.

My room was tastefully arranged, with thoughtful details that reflected both tradition and modern ease. The stone walls and wooden accents gave an atmosphere of timeless charm, yet all the necessary amenities were at hand. Waking up within the fortress walls, to soft light spilling across Berat’s landscape, was truly magical. Service was as gracious as the surroundings: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Even in a short stay, the staff ensured every need was met with effortless courtesy. For anyone wishing to immerse themselves in Berat’s history without compromising on elegance and comfort, Hotel Kalaja is a perfect choice. Service was without a smile, but very functional. Not a negative, but it feels a bit strange to be driving right into the castle gates past pedestrians! When you get through there, there is rough parking to the right, next to the castle walls. Then 100m walk to guest house.

Het ontbijt is royaal en lekker. Locatie is top, binnen de kasteelmuren en op loopafstand van het oude centrum. De kamer had een rolgordijn als verduistering. Die heeft zijn beste tijd gehad en laat ook het nodige licht door. Dus een verduisterend gordijn zou fijn zijn.
• Tamraz H (10/5): A beautiful stay inside the historic castle, with excellent breakfast and great location. - The hotel is located right in the heart of Berat Castle, just next to the famous Klea Restaurant. The location is perfect for exploring the historic area. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. We really enjoyed it. A lovely and memorable stay overall! It would have been nice to have a kettle in the room, but overall everything went well and we had a great stay.

Rooms were good for the price, location was amazing, we felt like we were back in the past with the castle’s surroundings :) Breakfast was delicious & with fresh, local products. It wasn’t self service, so you could just sit back & relax on the nice patio. Definitely recommend staying here during your visit in Berat! Absolutely nothing :)

L'hotel si trova in un edificio storico interamente ristrutturato, da cui si gode di una splendida vista, le camere sono semplici, pulite e dotate di tutti i comfort. Il proprietario è stato gentilissimo e estremamente disponibile. La colazione super abbondante, dolce e salata, servita nel patio, è stata il top! Caffè espresso ottimo!

Odadaki klima çok iyi çalışıyordu . Kahvaltı dahildi , yumurta çok boldu tabakta, domates, salatalık, sosis ,peynir , tereyağı, kruvasan, börek ve sallama çay vardı. Konum tam kalenin içinde surlardan yukarı çıktık ve mükemmel bir gün batımı manzarası izledik. Şehirde yokuşun yukarısını yani kalenin içini turladık aşağıdaki çarşıda da bir sürü yemek yeri vardı. Otel yokuşun çok yukarısında yer alıyor ve bavulla yukarı 25 dk yürüyerek çıktık ve biraz zordu ama taxi ile çok kolay çıkılır. Sular çok temiz değil ama bu ülkeden kaynaklı, bir de tuvalette biraz koku vardı.

• Cor (8/5): Pracht plek - De locatie binnen de citadel is fantastisch. Net door de poort. Je kunt daar openbaar parkeren, gratis. De kamer is wat oubollig en erg donker, maar wat maakt t uit op zo'n plek. En het ontbijt was weer eens overvloedig.

The hotel is located within the castle walls, fantastic walks around the place - don't miss the sunset views. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. The journey by car through the castle gates is an adventure in itself [google maps took us through the local high-gradient cobbled streets :-| ]. The view is enchanting with cafes and viewpoints. You can stroll through the narrow streets and shop at the markets inside the castle. Restaurants serve authentic dishes at reasonable prices. When showering, tend to likely flood the entire bathroom, esp for a tall person. Watch the windows.. as a lot of insects/mosquitoes can get in during evening times. Cash only payment on checkout.

Super kontakt z właścicielem! - Super lokalizacja na zamku, w środku terenu do zwiedzania, jednocześnie blisko do wielu restauracji. Bardzo dobre śniadanie, serwowane na świeżym powietrzu z bardzo ładnym widokiem. Bardzo miły właściciel, który kiedy zobaczył, że mamy sporo bagaży, bo jesteśmy z 18-miesięcznym Synkiem, dał nam większy pokój. Zdecydowanie wszystko na plus! Brak :)

• Chiara (9/5): Dimora tipica e rustica con ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo - Dentro al castello di Berat, è un alloggio tipico ideale per conoscere questa bella cittadina ad un prezzo veramente eccezionale!. Al castello sono disponibili ristoranti e bazar per cui la sera si riesce a cenare senza tornare giu fino in in paese. La colazione è super-abbondante. I proprietari gentili. Non si aprono le finestre della camera, ma solo quella piccola del bagno. Pagamento solo in contate... ma in Albania è così quasi ovunque. La Tv non funzionava.

Estábamos con niños pequeños entonces la atracción mayor de Berat era el castillo y los alrededores así que lo disfrutaron mucho. El dormitorio grande, el desayuno era mucha comida y toda muy rica! Deben entrar hacia el castillo hay varios estacionamientos en esa zona y el hotel está al entrar justo en la esquina. El baño un poco oscuro pero nada terrible
