Guest Reviews
- Elena (9/5): - Ich hab mich hier sehr wohl gefühlt.
Nada

- Victoria (10/5): 15 stars out of 10! - The place is magical and the staff makes it even more so. It is very quiet in the cosy garden, and very pleasant to eat delicious breakfast on the terrace. The decorations are great and you can also buy some cute stuff at their shop. The room was nice and had everything including fridge and kettle. But what made it special is people, very kind and helpful. I was travelling after small surgery and they really saved my day after flight cancellation, greeted me at 1 am and let me stay a bit longer to sleep. Thanks for showing the best of Armenian hospitality! Can't think of anything, but maybe you should consider they have a lot of stairs if you struggle with walking.

- xiaoyan (9/5): -
- Simon (9/5): A gem: an urban oasis full of character, charm, culture and comfort. - This is a gem, full of character, charm, interesting features and artefacts, and a living craft centre as well. Breakfast - superb - under the pomegranate trees to the accompaniment of migrating bee-eaters and with a vista to Mt Ararat on a clear day is a joy. Having been assigned here last year on my first visit to Yerevan I had no hesitation booking directly myself when I returned this year. So very different from typical urban hotels I see when touring; it has a rural, timeless ambience: an oasis in the city. My only tiny quibble might be the evening dining menu. It’s ok but not amazing.
- ELENA (9/5): - Very clean, friendly stuff, comfortable bed and pillows complete water shutdown without announcement
- John (10/5): A wonderful place to stay, with an authentic ambience. - The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They moved us from a room overlooking the noisy street to a quiet room overlooking the gorge. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of choices. The garden was a quiet place to sit end enjoy the bubbling fountain. Can't think of anything
- qiyun (9/5): Awesome stay, highly recommend - very lovely!!!!! Quiet and peaceful, very cultural atmosphere, they have some workshop which is very interesting even I don’t have time to attend🥲🥲🥲I really love this place and 100% recommend to live!!!! The location requires a bit of walk, but I understand because it’s so quiet and so peaceful. Walk uphill about 8-10mins you can reach a bus station, so I don’t think it’s a problem but just a little reminder.
- Alberto (9/5): Great spot, outside of hotels' chains circles. It gives a taste of Armenian hospitality! - Very healthy and tasty breakfast with fresh products and local taste.
The breakfast room has a wonderful view of Ararat Mountain and during breakfast we assisted to a live session of carpet making!
Traspira tradizione in ogni angolo.
- Prasterik (9/5): - The entire place is very cozy and peaceful.
- Prasterik (9/5): -
- Antonio (7/5): - Buona, ma non particolarmente varia.

- Ruby (10/5): - It's a charming, cosy and traditional hotel, which is exactly what I was after. I felt very comfortable and at home at the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really tasty.
- Sofia (10/5): -
- david (7/5): - Quirky boutique hotel combined with carpet making organisation.
Nice terrace to overlook the city
Very comfortable bed.
In a suburban area but only 20 mins walk from nice restaurants and bars in the centre Room was average size and dated and bathroom was a bit cramped.
Strong sunlight through the large windows in the afternoon made the room very hit and the AC struggled to cope.
Hotel policy of only providing bottled water in the room for the first night was a bit unnecessary.
- Petr (10/5): -
- Anna (8/5): - Interesting local design and beautiful view from balcony Problems with water in room. Poor breakfast.
- Bijil (8/5): -
- Anton (7/5): Good - Breakfast, quite big room, big terrace with a view on Ararat, friendly and helpful staff Pillow. It was awful
- Bernd (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet small hotel with nicely decorated room and communal area.
Greatly enjoyed the varied delicious breakfast!
Very interesting small exhibition on weaving and opportunity to see carpet weaving first hand during breakfast time.
- Sarah (10/5): This is my kind of hotel!! - We all loved our stay at the Silk Road Hotel. The staff were all great but a big shout out to Georg. Lilah who was weaving a rug downstairs was so delightful & explained everything about the support the hotel gives to villages teaching young people to weave & giving them opportunities to sell their work at the hotel. She did some weaving with my son & was so patient.
We had a nice triple room with a big window with a view of mount Ararat. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely & the garden was also a really nice space to sit & be peaceful. There are lovely local crafts to buy in the reception area. We would love to return. Thank you. Nothing
- Nicole (9/5): Superb - Nice property, traditional atmosphere, good breakfast, nice staff. All was good.
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - This is a true gem of a hotel. The staff are the best, so friendly and helpful, and with good English, they made our stay a memorable one. Our room was great, with great attention to detail in the layout. And we had a view of Mt Ararat from the window! There are lots of communal areas and a wonderful garden to relax in. The breakfast buffet was exceptional.
- Tigran (9/5): Superb -
- Adrian (10/5): Just amazing! - Amazing location with unique atmosphere, friendly staff, nice food and lovely rooms!
- Mine (10/5): Exceptional - I couldn't believe what was offered for the price we paid. Exceptional.
City centre location with country view.
Such warm and accommodating staff
- Ievgeniia (10/5): Excellent, atmospheric, and felt just like home. -
- Ioanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff, clean and comfy room. Great breakfast. Super cool history behind the rugs they make. If you get lucky you can see them make the rugs
- Mohamed (10/5): Best 3 nights in this hotel, is like Armenia home and very near to all touslrist ditricts - You feel like home in Armenia
The staff
Special thanks to David
And room service enter team
Will come again for sure Nothing all great
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erik (10/5): Feels like a home - This place feels like your home away from home.
- Dayk (8/5): Very good -
- Erik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): Great to stay in a really unusual setting, with a lot of character and quirky features. - Really unusual hotel, with a lot of character. Really helpful staff, excellent breakfast and interesting views. All good really.
- Maryam (1/5): Hotel not bad but staff Awful - Hall location was good and the room was clean The attitude of the employees was very bad, they closed the entrance door of the hotel from 11:00 PM and we did not have the possibility to enter the hotel. The room we booked was with a balcony, but they gave us a room without a balcony and when I talked to the manager, he said we don't have it and we can't. I will tell you that yesterday at the hotel, the employees had a fight with my wife
- Taisiya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hilde (9/5): Everything was great. We especially enjoyed eating in the garden in the evenings. - Our room was on the lower levels .The floor was not big enough to put out my yoga mat. I think the rooms on 1.st and 2.nd floor might be a better option. Next time!
- Claire (9/5): Cosy and everything you need - The staff at Silk Road hotel is very nice and always here to help. We were very happy. The garden is a little gem and side projects of the hotel are great too. I would recommend to go there when visiting Erevan. Please check the location since it’s not in the city center N/a
- Andrea (9/5): Superb - Authentic Pillow
- Mariam (9/5): Superb -
- Armik (10/5): Ata khilí! I loved all the people, staff, and guests that I met here. - One of the best hotel stay experiences I have ever had. I don't have much to say here.
- 380narekv (10/5): Very positive! - Excellent place with great service! The fantastic ethno-based interior adds a unique charm. Inside, there's a small exhibition of antique rugs and carpets, adding to the cultural experience. I highly recommend staying at this hotel for a memorable exploration of Armenia. Will be back soon!

- Natalia (10/5): A lot of warm care! Wonderful! - The Silk Road Hotel in Yerevan is more than just a place to stay; it is an experience that immerses you in the rich culture and traditions of Armenia. The hotel offers a peaceful retreat with a lush, beautiful garden that provides a perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection.
Guests at The Silk Road Hotel can expect exceptional hospitality, where every detail is attended to with care and warmth. The staff is dedicated to making your stay memorable, offering personalized service that caters to your every need.
- Gianpiero (10/5): The perfect hotel for a wonderful stay in Yerevan - Super cute hotel in the upper part of Yerevan with a wonderful garden and at least a partial view of Mount Ararat.
Inside, the hotel is reminiscent of a caravanserai and the lobby sells many handcrafted and artistic items reminiscent of the Silk Road.
The hotel staff are all very friendly, courteous, helpful and eager to provide information.
We had planned to start the evening of our arrival with a wine hour in the garden, but ended up spending the whole evening there with very tasty wine, delicious lavash chips and a very obliging waiter.
We would have loved to stay longer, but that wasn't possible.
The Silk Road Hotel is definitely on our list for our next trip to Armenia.
- Susannah (7/5): I enjoyed this hotel's atmosphere with garden and art. - The room was small but adequate. Bathroom very nice! Garden lovely. Breakfast could be improved with better coffee. Fresh seasonal fruit with yogurt. Guests in garden area need to be quiet after hours so other guests may sleep.
- Curious771598 (8/5): BijouX hotel - Small hotel in a suburb of Yerevan 20 minutes walk from the city centre, also doubling as a weaving/craft centre. Comfortable rooms with air con, fridge, and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast included in overnight rate, and tapas style dishes available the rest of the day. Rooms at the rear of the building have stunning views of Mount Ararat. Shady areas to sit outside and enjoy a beer. Staff friendly and helpful
- Fabienne (10/5): Exceptional -
- 124nedl (10/5): Silk Road Adventure - Silk Road Hotel was an amazing experience more than simply a hotel. When you first walk into the hotel you see many Armenian souvenirs and carpets for sale.
The hotel desk workers were always friendly and willing to answer questions about Yerevan or Armenian sites to visit including historical Churches and other sites of interest. I loved watching the lady downstairs who was making an Armenian Carpet during breakfast time and it was fun to see her work so carefully to craft a colorful and creative design carpet by hand.
The bed was good nice and the room was very cozy. I had a fantastic view of the mountains right outside my hotel window as well as beautiful Armenian Orthodox Churches. It was a really neat experience being around so many guests from different parts of the world and the nature of the hotel actually allowed for conversations with other guests as outdoor tables and delicious breakfast food including eggs and toast made it memorable. The best way to describe it is an old Hercule Poirot film with nice accommodations and a very international environment that lends itself to cultural exchanges which for the Silk Road Hotel was a perfectly named venue for this!
Another aspect I will never forget is the stray cat who came up the stairs beyond the garden to join me outside for breakfast that was fun as she became my faithful companion. And it is worth going out and walking around the garden itself as that differentiated this hotel from most. If you want to feel like you are staying at a chain hotel then this isn’t the place for you but if you are looking for a culturally enriching experience then by all means check out the Silk Road Hotel and I hope to visit again someday.
- Marks (10/5): Great stay when in Yerevan - Interior of the hotel is very nice with a lot of interesting details. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking courtyard is perfect to start the day. Location is also lovely in quiet neighborhood and in a walking distance to the center. Breakfast starts only at 08:30.
- sans_gh (10/5): Lovely property. Definitely would recommend it - It's a great property. The rooms were spacious.
I had my room on the first floor with a huge balcony with it. Had a beautiful view from the room.
The bed was comfortable, my room was super clean. Lovely decor with their traditional style of carpets.
They also have an in-house handloom workspace in the basement to support the local artisans.
The food was traditional Armenian. Limited options but great. Breakfast menu too was ok.
The staff were lovely, very helpful
They arranged my airport transfer for me.
Wifi was having good connection
- Sananda (10/5): Definitely recommending this place to everyone - I totally loved the vibe of this place. The people were super helpful. The food was amazing local cuisine.
Wifi was great.
They helped me with booking my airport transfer at midnight and also were there to make sure I didn't have any problem as I was traveling solo. Nothing that I can think about
- Sonal (10/5): Charming and unique boutique hotel - Charming, full of character, great value, and very clean!
- Alison (9/5): Would highly recommend this place and especially those wanting a bohemian vibe! - Overall our whole stay was lovely. We had a big huge window overlooking the mountains in our room and breakfast was delicious and offered indoor and outdoor seating.
- Supitcha (10/5): A hotel that teaches the world about the Armenian culture - One of the best stays I've ever had! The place was magnificent, with decorative items from countries along the Silk Road. Besides, it offers some handicraft workshops with friendly prices. I booked a kilim class and met an instructor who spoke excellent English. She is a PHD student who's truly passionate about learning history and culture. I was also lucky to meet 3 colleagues of hers: a rug weaver, a traditional costume designer, and a young man who played piano beautifully. The whole experience was magical. This was something I was fine about, but I mention it here to help other travellers make decisions: You have to walk 230 metres uphill to reach the hotel. The road wasn't steep, but if you hate walking, this will be a problem.
- Weissenboeck (8/5): Very good - Its a cosy hotel with a great stylish design. Receptionist was a bit unflexibel when we asked, if we can have the breakfast 15mins early because of our Tour.
- Daria (9/5): Great choise to stay in Yerevan! - It was so aesthetic experience. Feel ethnic spirit in every details! Lovely cozy patio for your lazy brekfast is perfect start of the day.
We had everything we need for comfort in room and there was even a small compliment from hotel. It was so cute!
Definitely I would like to stay Silk Road Hotel again. Breakfast was yummy but I would like more variety. For example, commonly hotels serve any eggs for breakfast, so it wasn`t. And as main morning course I tried pumpkin soup. It was perfect but a little unusual for breakfast time :)
One more issue is a neighbor noise. Unfortunately at night if you`re not deep sleep person, you may hear a lot of outside sounds.
- Svetlana (10/5): We will stay only in this place in our next trip to Yerevan . - That place surprised us very much, it was as we live in different century, but with all modern comforts (wife/services/information ect)
Any places are in a walking distance, even subway will take you almost everywhere.
- Ellen (9/5): Superb -
- Blumenstein (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caba (10/5): For me stay was wonderful, because i love calm - Hotel amazing: Rooms so quite.
Eating on balcony so amazing, with view to town and moutains.
It is a pleasure go through hotel, so many traditional things to see.
Aircondition good and calm.
I not use aircondition, so my advice open more windows in room, so room convienient.
Bed cloth with very smooth cotton.
**
Shops for buy wonderful fruits, and supermarket maybe 5 minutes to walk.
**
My advice:
Install Taxiapp on Handy or at least ask price for your destination before get in taxi.
- Matthias (9/5): Superb -
- Armik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aleksandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sergey (10/5): Exceptional - Nice place to stay. View on mount Ararat from room window. Good decoration of hotel spaces and rooms. I enjoyed also breakfast with special homemade jams (mulberry jam, grape jam), cheeses. Bed in single room is shorter than normal. Because of its length it may be not quite comfortable for a tall person. For me it was ok.
- Gabriele (10/5): Exceptional - Super nice & helpful team, fresh & yummy breakfast, wonderful garden-patio, all beautifully decorated with handmade carpets. A lot to learn & see about the art of carpet-making. Just a few minor things: Some reclining chairs in the garden and some dinner options instead of just snacks in the little bistro-restaurant would be great.
- Pamela (8/5): Quiet location in a busy city. Attentive staff. - The Silk Road hotel is a quiet location in the middle of a very busy city. There were beautiful Armenia crafts displayed and for purchase. The food and breakfast and during other meals was outstanding. The staff was kind - especially the restaurant waiter, Frank. My room, off the main lobby, was a bit loud.
- Natalie (10/5): amazing people and place - lovely atmosphere inerior
- Shareen (10/5): It was my best hotel stay ever! - I must rave about the Silk Road Hotel. The staff were accommodating of modifications to my arrival date and the change of rooms when family joined me in Yerevan. The breakfasts were delicious and copious--they even prepared a breakfast box for us when we departed at 4 am! I was there on my birthday, and all the staff wished me well and treated me to cake and fresh cherries. I enjoyed evening meals on the hotel patio and got to sip Ararat cognac while watching the rain. Frank in the restaurant and the reception staff all made me feel at home. The rooms are beautiful and cleaned daily, and it's wonderful to be in a hotel where rugs are made. Even the gift shop was a treat.
- Katja (10/5): If you want to stay in Yerevan, stay here! - The place is just magic and the breakfast has every morning some nice surprises!
- Irina (10/5): Exceptional -
