Guest Reviews
- Jonathan (8/5): Great for our one night layover - The staff were really lovely. Location was great. Loud jazz music whilst eating.
- RL (8/5): -
- Wendy (10/5): This is a wonderful and relaxing stay with excellent services, great ambiance, and an ideal location - I truly love my stay at Weatherills-- the location is excellent, and the atmosphere quaint, quiet and relaxing. The included continental breakfast is satisfying, even though I tend to add a little extra at my expense. The staff is AMAZING! A nice touch is the background music, which is a nice mix of genres-- giving it a great ambiance. Also, I can't forget the LIVE band every Thursday night, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming band for Cinco de Mayo, which I'm sure will add an extra layer of vibrancy to the experience. I can't think of much that needs improvement-- perhaps just adding a few lounge chairs on the terrace so you can stretch out after a delicious meal or while enjoying a glass of wine, whilst taking in the beautiful outdoor breeze. Nonetheless, there is ample seating outside for your enjoyment.
- Rob & Gaia (7/5): Great spot for an overnight stay. - We liked the peaceful setting and comfortable quiet room. We also liked that it was fairly close to the airport for a layover stay. The location was really isolated.
- Diane (8/5): Stunning stay in a beautifully renovated plantation house - This is a beautiful hotel. With only 7 bedrooms it is intimate, cosy and homely.
The rooms have been renovated sympathetically with its age, with modern facilities and very comfortable.
The staff are so friendly and attentive.
Food is excellent with ample continental breakfast and great lunch and dinner menu options.
We walked down a track about 20 mins to a stunning deserted beach - forget Dickinson Bay, pack trainers and walk down to Blue Waters Beach, it is beyond idyllic. Absolutely nothing.

- Daniel (10/5): Everything and more from this hotel. Excellent and couldnt recommend more. - Food was good, location was good - no complaints! Everything was excellent!
- Oliver (10/5): Sehr schöner Aufenthalt in geschmackvollen historischen Ambiente in einer alten Zuckermühle! - Authentisches historisches Anwesen, liebevoll restauriert! Sehr ruhig und zentral im Norden der Insel gelegen! Kleine Defekte im Bad.
- Alexander (9/5): -
- Emily (8/5): Nice and enjoyable stay but a bit far from beaches and isolated - Real unique place with a character and amazing restaurant Relatively far from beaches, taxis takes some effort to get, no place to really walk around
- cláudia (7/5): -
- Dawid (9/5): Bardzo ładny i czysty hotel utrzymany w starym stylu z miłą obsługą. Polecam -
- Steve (10/5): Peace and tranquillity on a beautiful Caribbean island. - We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at Weatherills Hotel for seven days.
Our room was quiet, spacious, clean and very comfortable with a large bathroom attached.
The staff were very professional and helpful, led by general manager, Navin Sukamaran who was excellent.
More often than not, we chose to eat in the hotel restaurant for dinner. Without exception, the food was very good.
The continental breakfast included in the booking and was more than adequate.
We particularly enjoyed walking around the grounds of the hotel, admiring the plants and visiting the restored windmill feature.
Thursday nights’ live band performance was very popular with the locals on the island and included some very able musicians and singers. Definitely worth watching with bands alternating over a four week period.
We thought that the hotel was well located, taking only a few minutes to get into St John’s or to pick up roads going further south. We visited the nearest beach at Bush Bay on several occasions and often found ourselves to be the only ones there. A word of warning, that the approach road is rough and should only be attempted using a four-wheel-drive Jeep type vehicle.
Overall, I’d have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to you. However, if you are looking for a swimming pool facility and a more bustling, busy hotel then you might wish to look elsewhere. Personally, we liked the peace and solitude.

- Lorelei (10/5): Perfect quiet and calm. Staff was wonderful and food was delicious - Beautiful and quiet lovely staff and grounds, room was lovely
- judith (8/5): Comfortable. Good for a transit one nighter - Lovely room, nice bathroom. Excellent staff Water flow and temp hit and miss. Barely anything for a gluten free veggie at breakfast
- John (8/5): - Food was excellent.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Convenient location
Live music on Thursday night was great Included Continental breakfast is way too small
Some minor issues with water/plumbing
- Henry (8/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): Pleasant and value for money - Cooked breakfast included would have been welcomed
- Tolga (8/5): - The room was clean, looked great and the staff was nice. The dinner was very well done, everything tasted really good. When I was booking the room it said breakfast included so I thought it meant a full breakfast. It really meant a continental breakfast (cold cut, cheese and fruit bowl). If you want any eggs or something else to eat there is an extra fee you have to pay. My girlfriend and I did get an omlette but both of them were burnt. The breakfast left a lot to be desired.
- Jessica lee (10/5): - The rooms and the view are amazing! Not all the breakfast options are included.
- Alois (9/5): Habe mich wohl gefühlt - Tolle Lage Alles bestens
- Sylvie (9/5): I much recommand this place. My husband and I will definitely stay there again when in Antigua. We have already started - Boutique hotel type. Very nice and big room (101). Good walk in shower. Good cocktails. Very nice continental breakfast. Nice and polite other guests. Very nice and friendly service. The few stairs from taxi drop off to reception when having luggages
- Siskind (10/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): Très joli endroit dans une ancienne distillerie - Tout personnel très s accueillant et très bon restau
- alessandra (9/5): Lovely and peaceful stay in Antigua - Gorgeous and very clean rooms that were very spacious, it was very peaceful too. You’re also really close to the beach, about 4 minute drive. Would have loved it to have a pool, but the manager did say they have plans for that in the future.
- Catherine (10/5): Very comfortable and super convenient for the airport - I loved the historical restoration and feel of the hotel
- James (10/5): -
- Peta-Jane (8/5): Short but sweet - The history and style No pool
- Lauren (1/5): - Location Bed bugs. This booking was for 1 night but I extended. On the second day when reading in the bed, I began to notice bugs crawling on the pillow and bed. I brought it the hotels attention and went to the beach. When I returned the room had been cleaned. But after showering I again noticed bugs crawling on the bed. First I was told they were wood bugs and it was normal because “we’re in their environment.” Then I was told they came over when the furniture was shipped. In less than an hour, I saw ten bugs on the bed. At one point, there were four bugs on different part, a pillow, the foot, and the side of the bed.
- Brian (9/5): -
- Amith (8/5): -
- Jana (8/5): Was excellent! - This is a wonderful property, we enjoyed our stay immensely! The air conditioning unit was not optimal.
The offerings for a continental breakfast is misleading and needs some improvement, perhaps the inclusion of a local option.
- Anna (9/5): Beautiful, peaceful and warm - Beautiful space and rooms, with lots of areas to relax in. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The dinner was honestly incredible.
- Julia (8/5): -
- Colasante (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Beautiful location, lovely building - Loved the grounds and the view. So green N/a
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic Hotel - One of the Most peaceful Hotels I ever stayed. Fantastic location and super friendly staff. The Reataurant is also very good
- Christopher (9/5): Lovely hotel in a great setting, wonderfull staff and food options - Great find. Lovely traditional decor, well appointed, lovely setting and ambience. Cannot think of anything.
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Howson (8/5): Very good - welcoming and accommodating staff. rooms extremely comfortable. food was delicious drinks were amazing.
- Wayne (5/5): Overall had a good time - Calm
Relaxing The Ac wasn’t working
Room service is needed
- Brazier (8/5): Very good - Very friendly helpful staff, stay short but they made us very welcome. Provided us with an excellent takeaway breakfast as we had a very early start. A little way from the airport.
- Exeter (9/5): Superb - The staff was excellent and attentive.
- Sherif (6/5): Nice boutique hotel but lacking facilities and normal buffet breakfast - Poor No facilities such as gym or pool
- Simon (9/5): A most calm and tranquil hotel in a lovely setting away from the crowds, with fabulous staff & food. - The most restful stay I have ever had in a hotel, even though I was in Antigua on business for 12 days. Sitting in lovely grounds, this plantation house and its windmill have been lovingly restored to create this boutique hotel of 7 rooms. The view over the island, the tranquillity of the place and the gentle breeze, combined with the most charming staff I have had the pleasure to meet on the island, meant that when you left for the day's business, you left feeling calm and relaxed and ready for the day. The quality of the food at lunch and dinner was excellent. This is where business people and knowledgeable visitors come for a nice and quiet meal. My colleague and I liked the fact that there is no pool and no noisy and/or unruly tourists. If you do want stick a toe in the water, there are some lovely beaches 5 minutes or so away by car. I've been to Antigua, mainly on business, four or five times in the last few years and, when I am next back, this is where I will be staying! This is not some anonymous venue that you check out of after your stay, this is somewhere a bit special where you say goodbye to your hosts, shake their hands and thank them for taking such good care of you. Meal service tended to get a bit slow when it got busier, but this is the Caribbean, so have another Carib, rum or whatever you drink and enjoy the tranquillity while you are waiting.
Breakfast could do with a little polishing. The 'juice' at breakfast was US-style flavoured sweet water - despite requesting 'real' juice (eg. from a carton saying 100% juice), there was no change over the 12 days. Cereal portions were definitely on the small side to start with. The fruit bowl, however, was outstanding!
Drinks were more expensive than in many other hotels I have been to in Antigua.
Air conditioner in my room was rather noisy.
- Christopher (9/5): Lovely Boutique Hotel - Lovely Boutique hotel in a wonderful inland setting, great food options, exceptional rooms and dinning areas with great food options
- Eileen (9/5): Wonderfully comfortable and peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings - Ambience, style, scenery, peace and quiet space, staff, evening meals Lack of a pool area to relax around. Especially important as the hotel is a car/taxi journey from the nearest beach
- Anson (10/5): Great hotel but service very slow. - The breakfast was fine but for a continental breakfast the service was exceptionally slow. Very disappointed with the slowness of the service. Almost left without having the breakfast coupled with this we were the only one waiting for breakfast.
- Ellen (10/5): Home away from home - Amazing hotel with lots of space great value for money Breakfast is included but is quite small
- Karla (10/5): We stayed here a night before heading to a beach resort. - Beautiful! Well kept. NA
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Kayte (10/5): Tranquil haven away from tourist bustle but close to amazing beaches - The location was superb , so tranquil and close to great beaches. The staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a colonial vibe and we loved our room with a view of the windmill.
- Michaela (8/5): Very good -
- Olencio (7/5): On the whole we had a good week and were looked after well by the staff. - The hotel was beautiful and clean and the staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was not up to standard. The lunch and dinner menus were very limited.
- Michael (8/5): Beautifully restored, classic colonial plantation house hotel with very attentive staff. - Breakfast was ok but the coffee could have been better.
The location is good but it would be even better if the hotel cleared a path to the nearest beach, which is really nice. The hotel could do with a swimming pool.
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (8/5): Good place to overnight or stay if on a business trip. - Good sized rooms and food on small estate. Fine for a short stay. The beach is walkable, about 1 mile all on a not busy road. The beach is in front of Sandals and the Royalton and is a destination for cruise ship folks, so very packed. If you are going to the hotel to be away from the beach and relax for a few days, there are no recliners or comfortable places to sit and read/relax etc.
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Very clean, friendly staff. Excellent restaurant and bar. The beach is a bit far and there’s no pool area to relax.
- Adele (8/5): Very good -
- S (9/5): Refined Hotel in beautiful calm grounds and friendly staff - Such a calming and relaxing place to stay, never crowded due to the small number of rooms. Set in beautiful grounds full of Hummingbirds and other wildlife. Gentle music plays as you breakfast on the veranda, a breeze softly cooling your face. I looked forward to breakfast every morning as it was such a relaxing time.
The staff were so attentive and friendly, smiles all the time, always willing to help. Ameera on reception was our absolute favourite, she is a massive asset to the business. But ALL the staff were good, she was just particularly so.
Breakfast was always good, lots of fresh fruit, the granola was delicious. We didn't have hot breakfast as this was not included in the rate. Food in the restaurant was very good, relatively small choice (not a bad thing), but on occasion, slightly over-seasoned. Trivial criticism, but those are the only ones we could find.
The room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The air conditioner and fan gave guests a choice of how to cool the rooms, and curtains prevented them from overheating. Our room, 104, had dual aspect windows overlooking the garden on one side and the car park/garden on the other. The bathroom had all the facilities that were needed.
One of the rooms at the back of the Hotel would give you a quieter evening on Thursdays, when there is a live band on until 10.30-11pm. This was a mixed blessing for room 104, as the first week the band were excellent and we had a free concert from the room, but the second week they were appalling, so we had to shut the windows! Not a negative, but just be aware of this when your room is allocated. If you stay on a Thursday and don't want to hear the band, ask for a room at the rear and you are sorted.
The Hotel is not next to a beach - the nearest is a five-minute drive - and doesn't have a pool, so if either of these things are important, this is not the place for you. All criticisms are minor, they barely detract from the overall experience:
Bathroom didn't have a blind, meaning it gets really hot during the day, so if you leave the door open, so does the whole room.
Cleaning service was patchy, with the staff regularly forgetting odd items - replenishing the coffee pods, water, face flannels, toiletries. They were always provided when asked for, but a simple checklist for the cleaning staff, or final cross-checks by a manager, would solve this niggle.
Location in the NW of the island means there is nothing within immediate walking distance, so you will need a car. Everywhere is close - the furthest point being a 45 minute drive away, so this is something to consider more than a criticism. Whether you enjoy driving in Antigua depends on your confidence, as with everywhere in the world. But roads are gently-paced at 40mph max, drivers very polite, and the lack of roadsigns is moot if you are using a satnav.
- Isabel (8/5): Great hotel to experience local Antigua - The house is really nice, very clean, and has great breakfast. Restaurante is also great for lunch or dinner. You have to drive to the beach - it’s a 5 min drive, but if you are looking to walk to the beach I wouldn’t recommend this one
- John (8/5): Comfortable Great bathroom and aircon -
- Isabelle (10/5): Beautiful and very relaxing place to stay - Beautiful estate close to the airport. Big and very comfortable clean room. Friendly staff and very good breakfast. Would definitely booked again when in Antigua for a short stay. Nothing, everything was as described
- José (7/5): Good - Very clean and beautiful hotel. Poor breakfast service. They charged us almost more 100 USD That was not mentioned on booking
- Fran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Giulia (8/5): Very good - Very nice and clean The included breakfast was quite poor of choice, still very good food
- Megan (10/5): Beautiful place very cozy and quiet - Very beautiful quaint bed and breakfast cottage with beautiful views of green fields and windmill from our room window. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were very cozy and bathrooms were beautiful I loved the decor. There wasn’t much I didn’t like about this property only that there could have been a swimming pool and would have been amazing if they had a shuttle to Dickerson’s bay beach as the walking distance is just that little too far unless you’re adventurous. And an airport shuttle would also be helpful.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trudy (9/5): Something quaint and different - Warm atmosphere and authenticity. No elevator or pool
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sylvia (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely boutique hotel with fine dining! one of my favs!
- Marc (8/5): Very good -
- Angela (10/5): Very comfortable, excellent food and staff - Food was superb. Very tranquil location with lovely views
- David (5/5): Pay a lot but don’t get much. - The rooms are ok, but they are showing their age and absolutely need things fixed. This place is incredibly overpriced. The staff is friendly but hardly interact with you and certainly are not overly happy you are there. You don’t feel warmly welcomed. In addition, lots of things in the rooms need to be fixed. And the price is very high. No pool. No gym. Just a room. They even charge you for an egg at breakfast.
- Petra (10/5): Exceptional - The place is lovely and stuff is really nice. It felt like little heaven :)
- P (9/5): My stay at weartherills was great - The food was great, the chef was on point…the staff was tentative and available at all times…they was EXCELLENT The facility was great just a few things, they need washcloths in the bathroom and a pool for some downtime entertainment
- Asher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elia (6/5): Most staff could do with a customer service training - Very elegant Some of the staff had no interest at all in helping us extend our stay In the hotel, and customer service was very poor in general.
- Deuvaunn (10/5): Exceptional - Weatherills is the most beautiful property! Amazing rooms and the ambience of the restaurant, bars etc were just top-tier. The staff were all really attentive to my needs and always went the extra mile to make my stay pleasant. Big shout out to Michelle who was a super attentive member of the team every time I was in the restaurant, making sure I had everything I needed. I’ll definitely be back to this hotel! And don’t get me started on the food - absolutely incredible, and the portions were perfectly sized!
- Anthony (4/5): Definitely not a 4 star. I stay in far too many hotels so I know. - The staff are brilliant.. and the band they have on entertainment nights are excellent No pool.. lots of land but no pool. The breakfast was the same every day and it cost extra to change. Seems to have a few extra hidden cost. I was asked if I wanted my room cleaned which seemed strange for a 4 star hotel. The property is situated in an isolated area which limits what you can do. I had to rent a car to go to the beach. The hotel should provide a shuttle service and improve facilities like adding a Spa. This would encourage visitors to return. I certainly would not return and unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel although the staff are great. There is no value here and the management must find ways to improve guest experiences. I felt this was a rip off. They add charges to everything. You have the space to make this a great hotel.. all your guest reviews are saying the same thing. The question is are you going to listen because if you don't.. I'm afraid this hotel will fail.
- Rachael (9/5): Peaceful green oasis in Antigua. - Weatherills Hotel is a charming place surrounded by lush green gardens. Spotlessly clean and helpful staff. This property has a colonial feel out and large bedrooms.
- Guoliang (1/5): Bad - Nothing They basic charge for everything at this expensive prices, water, shuttle bus, shampoo even the free breakfast
- Stephanie (10/5): The staff were so wonderfully personable and that made our stay very enjoyable. - Close location to the beach even though it was over 1 mile walk. The staff were amazing! Knowing there was a potential easy path to a beach that was overgrown and not maintained.
- Cherry (8/5): Very good -
- Benjamin (9/5): Excellent view - The environment N/A
- Williamson (10/5): Beautiful property with great amenities and a wonderful staff. - The property is located on a hill with lots of beautiful greenery and a wonderful breeze. You will have a great view of the city! The continental breakfast is quite limited but includes freshly made fruit juice. The restaurant serves good drinks and food. The staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful.
We felt safe on the property. I wish the restaurant served local food.
- Stanshaw (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isaac (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sesaxa (9/5): Lobely - We stayed unexpectedly as our flight was canceled and we were greeted lovely and teated very nice. Wish we got to see more of the hotel. The shuttle to the airport provided by the hotel cost more than the taxi from the airport.
- Lisa (9/5): Loved the uniqueness of this gem and helpfulness of the staff. - Location and setting Lack of swimming pool
- Charles (10/5): A charming, peaceful hotel set in beautiful grounds. Good food and most helpful staff - Beautiful grounds. Quiet setting. Attractive room. Good restaurant. Most helpful staff
- Eleanor (7/5): Short but sweet stay! - We found this accommodation after our international flight got cancelled to the day after. They luckily had availability, and we are so thankful they did! We had a really nice welcome to the hotel and was told all about what the hotel had to offer, unfortunately as it was a short stay we couldn't make use of the free breakfast. However the restaurant and rooms were very comfortable, we were able to be upgraded and the bathroom was massive!
- Funmbi (10/5): Worth the hype! - Weatherills Hotel is as gorgeous in real life as in the photos. My room was comfortable, and I had everything I needed. Breakfast was consistently delicious, and the staff were just so helpful and gracious! If I'm ever back in Antigua, I will definitely stay here again. Nothing!
