Guest Reviews
- Lia (4/5): - Nothing the location was fine if u want to stay close to the bus station The pictures doesn’t match the hostel, it looks completely different
The kitchen was disgusting, the pots and pens were very old and in need of a desperate change. The kitchen was very dirty and it was an unpleasant experience to cook in it
For the price we payed we were expecting different facilities
The stuff didn’t know English and were barely present

- Donal (10/5): - Good place. The staff were very helpful

- Bartuh (8/5): -
- guigou (8/5): Todo estuvo espectacular 🫶 - Acorde a nuestras pretensiones
- Catalin (6/5): Modest conditions , considering price. -
- Manuela (8/5): Very good - A big hostel/camping in El Chalten. In high season the kitchen can get bussy but there is always place
- Petra (8/5): Very good - Good location, nice staff, everything thay u need inside.... Don't leave the dog on CHAIN all the time 🤨 poor dog is barking and being outside in this crazy weather 🤨 it's not human....
- Sander (4/5): Could be better - One of the cheapest private rooms we could find in El Chalten. This about concludes the list of good things about the stay. The cotton bed sheets were so fill of the balls it resembled more sandpaper than a bed sheet. Considering the 70$ per night price, it is not so unreasonable to expect white sheets.
The owner or someone who lives there permanently had a dog right behind our cabin that was barking every night.
- Nancy (6/5): Pleasant - We loved the mountain view!
The cabaña is simple but has everything you need. It's a great value for money in the El Chaltén area. In our opinion, the bedding was outdated and not suitable, especially for those with allergies. The bed was comfortable, but we chose to sleep in our sleeping bags.
- Boyan (8/5): Very good -
- Rhys (10/5): Dorm rooms are very small but apart from this everything was great. Deserves a higher rating . - Clean , tidy , woodfire heating in accommodation
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamir (8/5): Very helpful and nice staff, great place to in chalten - Very helpful and nice staff Not super clean
- Bo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (7/5): Good - Good location and cute bungalow. Bathroom had a funky smell
- Lizzy (6/5): Pleasant - It was more budget friendly than other accommodation options in El Chalten. The bunk beds are not very stable, and everything was a bit run down in general.
- Raghuveer (6/5): Has potential. Could do better! - Ability to make a meal and a warm coffee before and after a long hike in the mountains near El Chalten! Turned off heat in the middle of a cold night and this made our cabin freezing cold. Don’t expect this when paying $185 a night!
- Amelia (9/5): Superb -
- Ana (7/5): Clean and warm. Good to sleep and not spend long time. - The property has different small “houses” which makes it more private because you are sharing the common areas with less people than in a normal hostel. The people from the staff were super friendly and helpful during the entire stay! The room was really, really small. There wasn’t even enough space to open the backpacks, if we all needed to do it at the same time.
- Léa (7/5): Good -
- Klaudia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nur (9/5): Superb - I'm very glad I stayed here, it was comfortable (minus the bed feels like it could Crack but it won't lol). There's kitchen available. receptionist is great. Location doesn't matter cause this town is just 10min everywhere I do wish they provided basic things like cooking oil and soap in the bathroom though. And wished they turn on the heat longer and earlier during winter. I was freezing hehe
- Julian (1/5): Ridiculous to charge for luggage storage after checking out - It was warm and water was also hot The ridiculous charge for storing the luggage. 2,000 pesos per hour and 7,000 pesos per day. No other hotel (cheap or expensive) that I stayed at charged for luggage storage after checking out.
- Wellingson (6/5): This accommodation is a reasonable option if you are unable to find something more interesting - The accommodation offered a competitive price compared to the average in El Chaltén, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The Wi-Fi in our cabana did not function properly, leaving us without any connection for an entire day. Additionally, one of the nights, the heater stopped working, resulting in an extremely cold experience.
- Yedidya (6/5): Pleasant - The bathroom in the beginning did not have any toilet paper or soap.
There's no option for a breakfast
My kitchen is very small and not a lot of option
- Nina (7/5): A good place to rest your head but some common room comfort could be improved! - The beds were comfy, showers were warm and the kitchen was in good condition. The staff were lovely and one drove me to the bus station when it was raining! There wasn’t a comfy social common space. They have way too many chairs and tables and the chairs are always up on the tables which isn’t very welcoming. If they just removed some and replaced a corner of the room with a sofa or something, it would make a really big difference to the space and the vibes of the hostel!
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing - very very basic. bed and linen were cheap. water was hot but hard. to control. el Chatlen is overpriced as a whole so this place may have been a bargain compared to the rest of the town but it felt like a poor value
- Katinka (5/5): Passable -
- Aongus (7/5): Good -
- Eirik (7/5): Good -
- Duncan (2/5): Very poor - Friendly and helpful staff
- Tom (4/5): Disappointing -
- Hyunchan (5/5): Passable -
- Sven (3/5): Poor - Capital of tourism..?? El Chalten is mostly a pile of rubbish happy to be surrounded by beautiful nature and this place is no different..
- Mikhail (9/5): Superb -
- Pauric (9/5): Superb - Nice location beside the train station, a bit of a walk to the hikes but easily walkable through the town. We booked a private room, which was a small chalet beside the hostel. Nice and clean with heating inside as it could get cool at night but the heater worked really well. Staff were very nice, there was a power cut when we came but they gave us the room so we could drop our bags and have a rest before checking in.
- Juan (1/5): Small bathroom and poor cleaning - Very small bathroom (3 showers and 3 toilets) shared between hostel, camping and campers.
- Anthony (9/5): Superb - Great staff, hot showers, spacious living & dining area
- Tomohiro (7/5): Good - Friendly staff
Good location
Cute dogs
- Gia (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jamie (9/5): Superb -
- Nell (8/5): Very good - Perfect for backpackers looking to adventure around El Chalten. We stayed in a dorm. Hot water and very warm at night which we definitely appreciated. Big kitchen with loads of facilities to allow cooking. I would recommend. Bunkbeds were very squeaky which didn't feel too secure.
- Johnson (6/5): Bare essentials. - Close to the bus station. The doors make a lot of noise.
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Nice small flat (include bathroom, kitchen and bedroom). You have there everything what you need. Signal is sometimes very bad for TV and WiFi. Air conditioning also sometimes doesn't work, otherwise superb.
- Martin (9/5): Great value for money - Great value for money
- Jing (9/5): Superb - the staff girl is always friendly and helpful, good price with comfortable accommodation.
- Lucaskl (8/5): Very good - Decent hostel, kitchen is quite big and equipped, dorms are super warm but ok. Location is food, few blocks from the main road It lacks a little atmosphere and it's slightly too expensive for what it offers
- Chad (8/5): Wonderful stay, best pick in El Chalten - Dorm had its own bathroom, friendly and knowledgeable staff, beautiful location in a good spot for hikes and transport. Best wifi in El Chalten (although don't expect miracles).
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Ayleen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Justin (8/5): Very good - beds, lockers, were great. very friendly staff and good communal space. in my opinion, one of the best budget options in El Chalten. heater adjustment was broken in room of 4, so it was very hot. kitchen a bit cramped
- Erdal (8/5): Very good -
- Imada (9/5): Superb -
- Max (10/5): Exceptional - We came here after hiking to Mt Fitz Roy and needed a break from tents and body odor. The room was comfortable and warm. Breakfast was a nice plate of pastries, yogurt and cereal. The wind HOWLED all night long outside our little cabin-thing and we were very glad to be inside some walls.
- Ricardo (4/5): Disappointing - nice staff dirty, crowded hostel with very expensive private room.
- Lauren (4/5): very expensive for what it is - generous breakfast portions
polite staff terrible value for money, even considering the cost of accommodation in El Chalten. the facilities for the bungalow were minimal- kitchen consisted of a kettle, a fridge that didn’t work and one hob. We were genuinely shocked that the owners felt it acceptable to charge the prices that they do.
- Mackenzie (3/5): Worth it for the money if you don’t mind it being dirty and cramped - The staff was really great. Very helpful and nice. The location was also pretty good, but it did add about 2 kilometers to every hike. The hostel was incredibly dirty. The bathroom floor was always soaking wet. One toilet was broken but there wasn’t a sign or anything on it so people still used it causing the bathroom to smell like waste all the time (really uncomfortable for showering). The doors didn’t close all the way and there were no locks on the stalls. It was constantly out of paper towels and soap.
My room was not cleaned before I got there (at 10PM). There was trash and open food containers on my night stand that I found out had been there since before the other people in the dorm moved in. I found tons of food trash under the bed, too.
There were also waaaay too many people staying there for the facilities they offered. You could never find an open table in the common room, so I either had to stand and eat or go sit outside a few times. They also operate a kayak business out of the common room, which is one less table that’s available. The kitchen was also always packed and there was not enough space for the people who were cooking.
If I hadn’t already paid, and had there been other options in El Chalten, I would have left after day one. I was very uncomfortable here. I’m sure it would be different if you were camping and expected camping level facilities.
- Ka (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (4/5): Filthy - The bedroom was OK and the common room was not particularly comfy but spacious Arguably the filthiest bathroom I've seen in my life. There was a band-aid in the shower that stayed there for 2 days. The toilets didn't flush properly. Neither the showers nor the toilets had locks so you had to hold the door closed or just hope it wouldn't open suddenly. Very unpleasant.
- Sylvain (9/5): Good stay with a good staff. A good deal if you do not pay with the official rate. Poor wifi - Great location and great staff Poor wifi. It could have been cleaner too
- Willy (7/5): Good -
- Willy (7/5): Good -
- Amean (5/5): Passable -
- Yonatan (8/5): Very good -
- Pilar (9/5): Superb -
- Marco (10/5): Exceptional - Everything perfect, really recommended!!! Personnel really welcoming and helpful!!
- Rosanna (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely team running the hostel, super friendly, very clean
- Abigail (9/5): good value - basic but good kitchen and great showers some comfy chairs or seating would have been nice as there was only tables and chairs
