• William (9/5): Muy buen hotel con estilo antiguo. - El personal siempre muy atento, todo muy limpio y ordenado. La vista de la ventana daba hacia el edificio de en frente, supongo que otras habitaciones tienen mejor vista, hay que estar atento para solicitar una con mejor vista.
• VIAJANTE DE FÉRIAS (9/5): Ótimo hotel - Quarto sem nenhum cheiro de cigarro e bom tamanho. Pude ver alguns quartos disponíveis ao chegar e escolher o que gostei mais. Funcionários muito prestativos. Localização excelente. O box do banheiro é um pouco desajeitado quase vai algumas vezes tem que estar bem atento. Ar condicionado bastante barulhento mas é um barulho constante então funcionou como um ruído branco pra dormir pra mim por isso não me incomodou mas depende de cada pessoa.

• Samme (2/5): Old, dusty and overpriced - Convenient location on Zamalek. I requested non smoking rooms, but one of the rooms we got stank of cigarettes. There is old, dusty carpet all over the hotel, which looks like it has not been properly cleaned in ages. The lock on one of our room doors did not work properly. Given this we left shortly after arriving and booked a different hotel. Overall given the price and the fact that the hotel claims to be a 3 star hotel it is certainly not value for money.

• Philip (10/5): Review of Horus Hotel - Wonderfully friendly staff. The location of the hotel in Zamalek is perfect for exploring Cairo. There is a lovely balcony where you can drink coffee or tea and admire the view. The breakfast (not included in the reservation cost) is nice and reasonably priced. You can pay in Egyptian pounds or dollars. There is a 24/7 reception desk. The hotel has some wonderful artworks in the communal areas. We enjoyed the sense of tranquility and the character of the place. The shower in the bathroom was not functioning properly. It is not immediately clear how the air- conditioning unit works, although it was not required when we visited March/April 2026. The rooms have functioning WiFi, but the communal areas require mobile data or an esim card. The hotel is located on the fourth floor of an apartment block and the lifts are small - only two people with luggage can fit in at any given time.

L'hotel Horus è un'oasi di pace al Cairo dove rilassarsi dopo una giornata in giro per la città, sentendosi a casa e usufruendo della terrazza in comune con divanetti e del bookcrossing. Molto apprezzabili la pulizia e la gentilezza e disponibilità del personale sempre pronti per supporto e consigli. Posizione perfetta a Zamalek, vicino a negozi e ristoranti. Consigliato a chi ama uno stile semplice e un po' nostalgico.

• Piret (10/5): A very clean and lovely place to stay! - A very clean place to stay in a great location — there were restaurants, cafés, and a bit of greenery nearby. The staff were polite and friendly. The breakfast was good enough to start the day 😊 The hotel is actually quite hard to find because the exterior shown on Booking isn’t visible from the street — it’s taken from the fourth floor of the building. The sign on the street is fairly small and easy to miss.

Faheed (I’m not sure how to spell his name), but was amazing and the part I looked most forward to in the mornings. The room was minimal, but it has everything you need and it was very clean and comfortable. I highly rate this place and it holds a special part in my heart for my trip in Cairo.

The staff were especially lovely, friendly, helpful and always professional..it was a delight to stay here and we would stay here again. We especially would like to thank the staff on reception, Michel and his colleagues for their kindness in helping us return a package to its owner. Also enjoyed meeting the waiter who has worked with the hotel for over 50 years, now in his mid 70s and has not lost an ounce of his enthusiasm for his work. Vous pouvez aller au bord du Nil à pied. Il est proche de tous les commerces. Il est vrai que nous n’avions pas d’eau chaude, mais nous annoncerons une astuce pour bloquer le mitigeur. Et au final nous avons réussi à en avoir. Le petit-déj’ était également pas à notre goût mais ça c’est personnel.
• Lars (7/5): Mysigt och gammaldags på bästa läge i Kairo - Här serveras en ganska/mycket bra frukostbuffé som till följd av att frukostrummet är så litet inte kan kallas överdådigt precis. Men det mesta finns där och tycker man att kaffet är lite för svagt kan man få en lite extra påse kaffepulver. Det här hotellet är litet och en aning slitet, men det som gör vistelsen bra är personalen. De är otroligt rara och gör allt för att hjälpa till. Och de är alltid uppmärksamma och vänliga. I vårt fall hjälpte de engagerat till att få tillbaka en borttappad mobil, något vi aldrig hade klarat själva. Vårt rum var tyst, vilket är ovanligt i Kairo. Ett plus för en fin balkong med sköna soffor där man kan slappna av när man kommer tillbaka efter dagens äventyr. Det kan vara svårt att hitta, för det finns ingen tydlig skylt utanför, man får gå in i en öde hall där det står en skylt lutad mot en gammal pulpet. Sen gå till en urgammal hiss som bara tar två personer åt gången, och åka upp fyra våningar. Särkilt på morgnarna är det lite kallt i lokalerna, men det är vanligt i Egypten på vintern, husen är inte byggda för kall väderlek.

This is a very safe, well-managed place with a genuinely helpful and professional staff. Everyone I interacted with was kind and attentive. The restaurant deserves special mention—the food is high quality, very affordable, and excellent for both lunch and dinner. The location is outstanding: easy access to almost anywhere in the city, whether by Uber or the metro, with plenty of cafés, restaurants, and gift shops nearby. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my stay and would absolutely return. An exceptional experience.

• Francois (10/5): Great budget friendly stopover - I was looking for a one night, budget friendly stopover in Zamalek to do some final sightseeing and shopping. This fit the bill. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel was well situated as a base to walk to most places I wanted to get to. Important to note is that the hotel is on the fourth floor of the building and so is not prominently signposted at ground level. The name is on the entrance but you do need to keep your eyes peeled. I was advised by the hotel not to use the tap water in the kettle. Buying a bottle of water for this was a minor expense. There is a small dining room where you can get meals. There are also many, many places to eat within walking distance of the hotel.

• Luciana (7/5): Watch out for the rooms near the restaurant - Location, comfort, clean, great breakfast I stayed in room 102, close to the restaurant/kitchen area so my sleep was disturbed by staff setting up the restaurant for breakfast late into the night and early morning. As for a room on the other wing if you are a light sleeper.

• Paolo (9/5): For a clean, friendly, mid-priced hotel in a quiet location, I'd highly recommend Horus House Hotel - I have stayed at the Horus House Hotel over many years and have always had a very enjoyable stay. It is in a quiet and convenient location. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast and dinner options are plentiful and reasonably priced. The rooms are serviced daily, kept clean and tidy, with fresh towels provided each day if required. The beds are comfortable, and each room has a fridge, air conditioning and a TV. It would be nice to have tea and coffee facilities provided in the standard rooms, like they are in the superior rooms, but this is not a complaint or reason to be dissatisfied with the standard rooms. Just a little extra convenience that I personally would like to see. Even if like the extra charge for breakfast that can be added onto your bill daily as required, perhaps guests could request this as an extra facility for a modest extra charge. Just an idea? :-)

• Carole (8/5): Agréable séjour dans le quartier Zamalek - Dans un immeuble art deco, l'esprit des lieux a été préservé. Chose rare au Caire, l'endroit est trés calme et sans bruit la nuit! Les chambres sont trés propres. Le personnel est trés aimable et attentionné. L'hotel est sur l'île de Giza et le en plein coeur du célébre quartier Zamalek que l'on peurt parcourir à pied avec facilité. L'hotel est prêt de tous les magazins utiles.
