Guest Reviews
- Christine (8/5): - Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Great shower Steep stairs
- Clare (8/5): - Very comfortable. Completely quiet despite being above the pub (2 floors down) No breakfast on site
- Rute (10/5): - Great value for money, easy, straightforward check in and checkout. We had lunch at the restaurant and the chicken and waffles were incredible!
- Mark (10/5): Reasonable price and easy to get to most South London venues - Quiet, spacious, excellent facilities and very straightforward Reminded me how untidy our house is
- Tanguy (8/5): Well located and very good. I recommend - Very good and very well located. Close to the train station and in just a few minutes to London centre.
Clean, comfortable, quiet.
Just above a pub - good for dinner.
(No breakfast possibly during the week) Bed a bit small (135 cm wide)
- David (10/5): Very enjoyable friendly Pub,staff - Very Friendly staff and great atmosphere All good
- Montrose (4/5): We wouldn't stay here again given the choice - The breakfast was really yummy, and there is a great selection of gins! The decor is nice and it's in a good location. Nice smelling toiletries. The bathroom smelled of damp, and the shower really stank of drains. We were staying for my cousin's wedding nearby, and needed an iron. The staff couldn't locate one, and said they'd try and find it. Then left us waiting for about an hour. So we decided to just go to the reception, at which point a staff member said they'd go to their house and we could borrow theirs. It took a further 15/20 minutes. We ended up being an hour and a half late to the reception. The staff were pretty non-plussed about the hassle they were causing us, even put out that we'd asked for an iron and had then pressed them about it.
The bed was uncomfortable, and the street noise was so loud. Obviously it's London - but the price was ridiculous for what it was.
The next morning, we ordered breakfast, and again, the staff member was pretty unbothered.

- Matthew (7/5): Would stay here again if in a pinch, done it’s job for a nights stay. - Cosy, not too far of a walk from nearest high streets and shops, had everything you needed for a short stay in London. Rooms are not sound proof, any noise from outside or from the other rooms was very noticeable. Paid £150ish for 1 night on London Marathon weekend, any other time I would not have paid that much for the room, defo £80 a night tops.
- Ben (10/5): -
- Thembi (10/5): - Friendly staff and in a great location a short walk from the station. The room was spotless, a good size and really comfortable. Would recommend!
- Keith (10/5): A repeat stay, a nice experience as always - Friendly staff, great atmosphere Nothing

- Olivier Pasquet (9/5): Charming, top clean, quiet and easy - It is a charming, lovely hotel. Located in a quiet place, not far from Overground lines and busses. The bed was good, the room was totally renovated and ultra clean. The bathroom super. The staff was friendly. Everything is well organised and reassuring when you are over tired from long and stressful trips (keys, special door to enter etc). The picture of the advert corresponds exactly. I really enjoyed and will come back.
- Holly (10/5): - Really lovely modest rooms, very nice staff and very well appointed 5 minutes on a train into London Bridge station. Food in the pub was also delicious!
- Callum (10/5): -
- Simon (8/5): -
- Claire (7/5): Lovely room, good bathroom, great location and great staff - The location for us was great and really quiet for sleeping. The pub was really nice too with lovely welcoming staff Breakfast was served too late for us (not until 10.30) and the DIY breakfast wasn’t great, although it was a thoughtful touch
The walls were very thin so could clearly hear the conversation of the people in the adjoining room
Wij komen zeker terug! Bedankt voor dit mooie weekend bij jullie!

- Sean (8/5): -
- Heather (8/5): - Nice room, very comfortable bed. Breakfast muffins, porridge tea & coffee in rooms. We went there for a family party & we were happy with the accommodation. Kettle had to be moved on to floor to reach plug socket which made it awkward to make a drink. Ooltherwise good.

- Brian (7/5): Just right - A quite nice place to stay the room was very comfortable and was very quiet. A nice place with in easy reach of Lewisham There was nothing wrong
- Lang (9/5): Fantastic value london location - We loved Jeremy in the bar, he was exceptionally helpful and a fantastic host.
All the staff were incredibly reactive to help us with any questions and needs.
Our room was lovely and warm, very clean and perfect for our trip.
I really liked that the venue sorted parking for a set price, taking care of everything for us, a real weight off. We didn't eat at Brookmill but the menu looked really good. Next time we'll try it.

- Robin (8/5): Great location and an excellent steak meal. - Great location and an excellent steak meal. N/A
- Chris (8/5): - Clean comfy room, short walk from train station. Friendly staff
- Zoe (9/5): Great pub, room, great for short stays in SE London - Great location for me, options to get to Greenwich and explore the market and Deptford market too. Love the DLR. The room was cosy always warm which was good in November. Staff were great and the pub food was nice, wish I would have got a chance for breakfast. Only that there wasn’t a full length mirror but other than that all good

- Udonsak (7/5): Enjoyed my night there - Nice, cosy and clean. was a safe place to spend the night and proximity to train station and bus stops added a little bit of convenience. Will most probably stay there again if within the area.
- Marie (8/5): Great room but a bit out of the way - Very nice little room, well decorated and very comfy It's kind of in the middle of nowhere though
- JOSEPHINE (9/5): Good overall - Good location for my work event. The pub downstairs was nice. My TV didn’t work but the young lady who helped me went out of her way to rectify this. It was surprising that the fire alarm went off because I was blowdrying my hair. Bed wasn’t the comfiest.
- Denys (9/5): -
- Lois (10/5): - Easy check-in, friendly staff, lovely room, excellent location close to trains. We didn’t eat there but the place was packed on Sunday pm which is a great sign.
- Dr. Khaled Sherif (1/5): False intro - The manager was very understanding and decent The hotel was a great disappointment. Not as portrayed on booking at all
- Ion (10/5): -
- Valentina (8/5): - The hotel is located in a traditional English neighbourhood, close to Lewisham and DLR stations.
- Wendy (10/5): Perfect Stay - The perfect stay. Great location near to the station and local bars/restaurants. Beautiful clean rooms with good facilities and a lovely food. Noisy locals (a young g group of girls) on one night, not much the Brookmill could influence.
- Mykhail (10/5): -
- Alexander (9/5): -
- Simon (7/5): - Good location, room was nice and staff were good The TV was almost impossible to use. It was ridiculously slow when using the remote, maybe a poor network. There was a frequent banging door from somewhere which was annoying,
- B. Jentzsch (7/5): - Gemütliches, originell gestaltetes Zimmer, bequemes Bett, relativ ruhig.
Gute Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel. Im Bad fehlen Haken und Ablagen!
- Claire (8/5): Great - Perfect! Really friendly above a great pub and good food
- Prince (10/5): -
- John (8/5): -
- Nigel (9/5): -
- Barsby (7/5): -
- Stuart (9/5): Comfortable, spotless and quiet. - Lovely room, nice shower, quiet and comfortable.
- Arthur (9/5): -
- gbanfi (9/5): -
- Hines (10/5): A fabulous stay - Very welcoming. A beautiful room, with plenty of space and a comfy bed. Clean bathroom. No faults.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Friendly welcome from arrival - check out process explained thoroughly, clean room & comfortable bed. In a great location for what we needed! Thank you
- Elly (9/5): - Het was netjes. 'S-morgens niemand aanwezig. Sleutel in het kastje.
- Marcelo (4/5): Friendly staff, but questionable attitude - The pub serves some good fraught products, and they can also do some. Very good Negronis. Cost me a new T-shirt, as I left behind and apparently no one saw it.
- stacey (7/5): -
- Bradley (9/5): -
- Suzi (9/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (8/5): Very good - The room was really cute. The pub below was beautiful and had good food. It is very close to Greenwich. Good public transport connections to the city centre. It can get a bit loud on Saturday night (but noise finishes around 23-23:30, which is still reasonable).
- Sofia (1/5): Bad -
- Nathan (9/5): Superb -
- Caroline (8/5): Very good - Welcome, the food bed comfort and location
- Janet (9/5): Superb - Nice clean rooms...Great location for me.. quiet where my room was.. Nice easy check in. Lovely chocolate muffin. Just the heat ..meant I didn't sleep but that's not the hotels issue
- Alva (10/5): The staff were excellent. The room had all you need for a short trip to London. Would definitely go again. Makes a nice - It was a lovely surprise to find a lovely old coaching inn in such a built up part of London. A bus stops right outside the pub or it’s a fairly short walk to Lewisham Station. Nothing.
- Nicolette (9/5): Great place - Trully value for money and an amazing place. Clean and staff friendly. Unfortunately it being the hottest week of the year so far we had a room that was so hot we really battled. We were provided a fan but it was just not helping. The room really could do with an air-conditioning unit.
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional - Real Carpet :) up the Irish, cheers for cider top up. Very hospitality, friendly staff, all good! Could be more vegan snacks in room but no worries:)
- Benjamin (10/5): Stayed for 1 night whilst visiting friends, service was great, lady at the bar was very accommodating and couldn’t help - Clean, simple, value for money, easy to find, weekend parking nearby Nothing negative to note
- Ciaran (7/5): Good -
- Jade (8/5): Lovely place to stay, great location. - Lovely little pub/hotel. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Great location, St Johns station is a 5 minute walk away and can get into central london with ease. Room was very clean with kettle and coffee/tea/hot chocolate options. We ate at the pub before going out for the evening, food was lovely and reasonably priced considering being in the capital. You are given access to the side door with your room key and a code to get upstairs to the room, which was really helpful as we went out for the evening and got back when the pub had closed. Key safe to leave the key in the morning, breakfast is served from 10am but we left before this so couldn't comment. An iron in the room would have been great. The room could do with a little table and a couple of chairs as we had our morning coffee in bed as there wasn't anywhere else to sit in the room really.
- Henrik (9/5): Nice place I’ll come back to again! - Fresh room and great staff. Second time here and will probably come back! A bit off from where i needed to be but nice anyway!
- Louise (9/5): Excellent stay at a good price - Beautiful rooms, bathroom excellent
- Maggie (10/5): Visiting family and then going into the city. - Excellent location for visiting family and trips into the city. We received a very warm welcome and felt at home.
- Robert (10/5): I got a good night's sleep - Clean, comfortable, nice surroundings, good transport links
- Hazel (7/5): Comfotrtable and convenient. - Staff really pleasant, room big, nice towels, good hairdryer, comfy bed and close to train station. Flooring in bedroom needs replaced as do curtains. Take an eye mask and ear plugs if you are a light sleeper like me.
- Richard (10/5): Brilliant again - I had made a mistake and only booked two nights when I needed free the staff were very helpful. I keep going back because the food and stay is lovely and tucked away with a park besides where there is plenty of wildlife.
The food is fantastic made freshly and of course there is a great garden for the smoker and alfresco food.
Excellent Nothing
- Frederique (9/5): Superb - Friendly staff and cosy place The downside was the noise outside going on until late
- Sarah (8/5): Charming, comfortable and convenient. - The room was a good size and laid out very well. practical. Kettle and hot drinks provided.
The bathroom was spotless and had a good shower. The room was cold during the night, it would be useful to have some extra blankets available.
There are lots of stairs to the rooms, my uncle struggled a little bit with this due to his age and health.
- Steve (10/5): Very nice stay - Good location, near the station to get into city. Clean bathroom, plenty of toilet rolls soap etc. Big tv. Complimentary snacks. Very nice room
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Savannah (10/5): Very comfortable stay in well equipped room. Great customer service and excellent pub! - The Brookmill was in a quiet and charming location. Excellent pub with tasty food and great service. We thought the room was really well equipped and we especially appreciated the continental breakfast included in the room! We felt that this stay exceeded expectations. Would definitely book again :)
- Florence (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (10/5): Stress free! - We have stopped at The Brookmill on several occasions when visiting our son who is at Trinity Laban Misical Theatre School. It’s a very friendly place, the food is always excellent and the rooms are always spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend.
- David (9/5): Great rooms in quiet neighbourhood above a super friendly pub serving good food. - Tucked away in quiet neighbourhood of St Johns, the rooms at the Brookmill are well appointed, clean and with decent bathrooms. I always get a good night's sleep when I stay here. The pub downstairs is a great mix of locals and good food, making it super friendly.
- Valerie (8/5): Short pleasant stay - Breakfast ( paid ) was great . Room was cleaned daily
- Sheila (8/5): Good South London pick close to transport - The hotel is located close to useful transport links (St Johns rail station with service to London Bridge and Cannon Street, Overground to Canary Wharf). The room was fine, bed comfortable, bathroom with shower fully functional. Welcome was professional and friendly. Can be a bit overheated, but you can turn off the radiators and open windows. The hotel rooms are over a pub, and normally you don't hear the pub activity, it's fine. But there is also a rentable functions room, and that is right under the hotel rooms. We were there over a Saturday night when there was a birthday party booked in the function room; our floor literally shook non-stop from the sound system's bass. They do enforce an 11:30 closing time, and everything was totally silent after that, but if you don't want immense noise during the earlier evening keep this in mind.
