• Frauke (8/5): - The ship rooms ist eine kleine süße Unterkunft, die alles hat was man braucht. Unser Zimmer war geräumig und gut eingerichtet. Leider wie häufig im England mit Teppich. Es ist alles praktisch eingerichtet und sauber aber nicht neu. Das Fenster hat einen Sprung und die Klobrille wackelt, aber das sind wirklich Kleinigkeiten. Es gibt eine tolle Bar unten im Haus. Es kann bis 23:00 etwas lauter werden aber danach ist es sehr ruhig. Die Betten sind super bequem. Und das Personal extrem freundlich. Die Lage ist etwas abseits man muss mindestens 15 Minuten zur nächsten Metro laufen.

• Paula (8/5): - A really unique space above a pub. The staff was great. Room lighting was not good. 2 out of 3 small lamps weren't working. Long walk to a place to eat. If you could move it to an area central to dining and shopping and brighten up the rooms it would be great. Walking distance to anything. It was at night and our long walk was very dark until we got to any business. Kitchen was closed when we arrived and we were looking forward to eating and having a drink.

Uns ist - als wir heimgekommen sind um 2 Uhr nachts - die Türklinke einfach abgerissen. Das ist auf die schlechte Pflege der Zimmer (die sauber waren) zurückzuführen.

• Nattijaa (9/5): Super Preis-Leistung für London und super Pub - Süßes Zimmer, das einfach eingerichtet war, uns hat es aber an nichts gefehlt. Es war alles sauber und wir fanden es schön, dass man gut durchlüften kann und es trotz der dunkleren Einrichtung hell im Zimmer ist. Das Pub unten hat uns auch super gefallen. Die Pizza war sehr lecker. Die Lage war top. Wenig Wasserdruck in der Dusche und das Wasser ist auch recht langsam abgelaufen. Die Duschwand ging nicht ganz zu. War aber alles halb so wild.

• Dan (6/5): It was ok. - The location was handy for getting about town with good access to public transport. The pub downstairs had a great atmosphere and the food was lovely. The room itself needed a good dust. We were in room 3 which was on the first floor. The noise from the pub was very noticeable, however 10 minutes after closing each night it died down. The shower in our room made you dance as the water jumped from cold to scalding. If you're a larger person it wouldn't be suitable as the shower cubicle is definitely on the small side. The room was nice but it just needs some TLC.

• monica (10/5): Il nostro primo fine a Londra - Camera vecchio stile inglese molto carina, spaziosa, bagno con finestra e molto grande. Pulizia ottima. Posizione meravigliosa sia per muoversi a piedi che per prendere i mezzi. Staff molto gentile. Il pub sotto è davvero carino e non disturba perche chiude prestino. Zona residenziale per cui di notte si riposa benissimo.

Staff were welcoming and helpful when I checked in, and everything else was self explanatory so I did not need further assistance. Nice, tidy, and comfortable room for the night. Very easy to get to from Waterloo (just a short walk / ride). Would stay again! No fridge in the room. but this was a very minor thing, because there was a shared fridge (with water and milk) available outside on the main landing.

Great tea/cofee service. Very friendly and helpful staff. A bit noisy street round the corner. But - not disturbing too much at night - just early morning wake up.

The bed was very comfortable and the location is very close to all the attractions. We walked everywhere and it felt very safe. The hotel is on a nice, quiet location, there are many shops close by and a bus stop a few meters away from the hotel.

• Elliot (7/5): Would definitely recommend - Really lovely stay! Someone was on site at 10am for us to drop our bags. Great location and nice coffee shops up the road for breakfast. The room was clean and bed very comfortable. Along with all the little touches thought of made it a lovely stay. Neighbourhoods was quite quiet too. Only issue we had was no hot water from our shower. And with it being the morning was no one on the site to help rectify this. But definitely won’t stop me from staying here again!

• Michael (7/5): Conveniently located, spotlessly clean, and affordable room run by a friendly & accommodating staff. - Pub was an active and friendly place, they also made a mean pizza. Distance to tube station was short. Extremely well situated to explore London in any direction. Rooms were clean, they helped us with a power adaptor, and watched our luggage ahead of our checking in. Super staff. Due to allergies relying on windows rather than air conditioning was an issue for us. The temperature of the room was not a problem at all, very comfortable.

• Keri (8/5): 5* staff. 5* location. Would absolutely book again. - The staff were incredible. Very helpful, very friendly, very personable. The location was fantastic. We had tickets to Westminster Bridge for New Year’s Eve and we were in walking distance. It n local bus routes it was easy for us to get to other parts of london during our stay. The price for the time of year and the location was very reasonable. Tea & coffee facilities were plentiful, nice coffee machine and a fridge for the milk. We ate at the bar on our first night and the pizza was fresh and delicious. We stopped for a nightcap on our way home on the last night and the pub had a really welcoming, vibe. As outsiders, we didn’t feel at all uneasy. There was a funny, eggy, sulphur smell on the top floor when we checked in but we didn’t notice it at any other time. The milk in our room was one day out of date but had been opened and was off. Best before dates don’t bother me but I think it was cause it was already open. The room is VERY dark, even with all the lights on. It’s quite tired and seems to have a lot of old water damage.

El baño está congelado y la presión de la ducha es inexistente. La moqueta de la habitación no se sabe cuándo se limpió por última vez.

• Daphne (3/5): - Pluspunten: het bed. Dat sliep prima en het was er verder rustig. Ook de locatie tegenover de bushalte was heel fijn. Je bent met een paar min. in het centrum. Het barpersoneel is wel.heel vriendelijk. Het meest slechte hotel dat we ooit hebben gehad. Bij aankomst kregen we een kamer zonder ramen. Enkel een heel hoog dakraam. Mocht daar brand uitbreken kun je echt nergens heen. Op die kamer zat de tandpasta op de spiegel. Gele vlekken op een rol toiletpapier en er hing nog een gebruikte handdoek aan de deur met haren eraan. Vervolgens een andere kamer gevraagd. Deze was met gelukkig met ramen. Echter was hier de doucheput verstopt. Dit werd wel direct verholpen. De prullenbak werd niet geleegd en zat nog maandverband in. De douche is heel erg krap. De kranen hingen half van de muur. De handdouche deed het helemaal niet. De toiletborstel is stuk. Toiletbril zat los en scheef en was ook echt aan vervanging toe. Er is geen dagelijkse schoonmaak en wisseling van de handdoeken. Vloerbedekking is vies. Als je om handoeken vroeg waren ze er niet meer en werden van een andere kamer gepakt (die niet was verhuurd). Er zou iemand aanwezig zijn bij het uitchecken zodat we onze bagage konden opslaan. Helaas was dat niet zo dus lopen de hele dag met onze bagage te slepen. Al met al een hotel om weg te blijven!!!

• Teresa (6/5): Great location, but time for some TLC - Good location, walkable from 3 tube stations. 2nd time stayed there, the room this time was small, & in need of some TLC, the toilet seat was loose, the mirror was in the wrong place.. nowhere near a socket for doing hair etc. the shower head needed a clean. No instructions for the coffee machine, no sugar, but ample milk & water was provided. Free WiFi. We were on the top floor & some plaster had fallen off the wall in the stairwell. The bed was clean and comfortable, the room warm enough, plenty towels provided. The bathroom was clean, but the provided shower gel etc needed replenishing. I am being really picky.. but also the shower tray filled quickly & emptied very slowly.. no to having a long shower. To say there is no double glazing the street noise isn’t intrusive. The location is great, & as no breakfast is provided, there are various establishments within walking distance where you can have breakfast. All things considered I think £100+ per night is perhaps a little steep… but it is London.

• Kate (5/5): Friendly staff, comfortable & clean bed in good location but unclean facilities and smelly towels - The bed was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and welcoming There were flies in the shower, the towels smelled very bad like they had been kept somewhere food is made and the cups and spoon for the coffee had been used and were sticky which really put us off. The sky light was open on arrival and the room was freezing and we didn’t know there was a controller for this until we left the following morning.
• Jason (8/5): Still a Favourite, But a Few Maintenance Issues This Time - The location on Kennington Road is perfect. Lovely vibe overall. The bar downstairs is really nice with friendly, welcoming staff. I’ve stayed before and always enjoyed it. I’m already booked in twice for 2026, so I clearly plan to return. Room 1 wasn’t as well kept as other rooms. Very poor water pressure in the shower.Water pressure overall in the room isn’t great. A loose nut on the shower fitting is causing water to spray out the side and needs tightening. Hand soap dispenser was empty which was annoying. No reply when I contacted the property through the Booking.com messaging system prior to my stay. Starts the stay off on the wrong footing.

Dat het niet heel duidelijk was dat het ging om een soort ‘self service’ hotel zonder receptie etc.
• Daniella (3/5): Very disappointed - The listing is nothing like the actual place - The Ship Rooms are a fine and functional place to stay for a night, but I’m glad I wasn’t staying longer. The listing here is completely misleading. The room looks absolutely nothing like what I actually stayed in, which was extremely run down, dark and dated. The pictures need to be updated as it’s really nothing at all like the boutique space suggested in this listing. The building itself is not sound insulated at all, so I was woken up multiple times in the night by banging and then from 5AM by the room above who kept banging something. It was a really terrible night’s sleep. The location also isn’t very practical as it’s a 15 minute ish walk from the nearest tube. The most significant issue was that I wasn’t aware how strict the check in hours were. If the pub is closed, there is no way at all to check in and leave your bag. Similarly if you arrive once the pub is closed at night you won’t be able to check in.

• Kristin (7/5): Good for budgeting - Nice location, comfortable (although small) bed and pillows! Enough room in the bathroom. Free drinking water in the fridge was a nice touch. The building is very dated from the inside (weird smells in the coridor and everything looks dated). They don’t clean the rooms (therefore change the towels or clean the tiny trash bins inside the rooms) unless asked after 3 days of your stay. I think cleaning after 3 days should be a standard if the customers stay longer. Water pressure in the shower was not so good and only one shower head worked. Quite noisy during the weekends as it is above a pub and right next to a road. They also had some mix-up with our room in the middle of the stay which was really disturbing and stressful but fortunately they figured it out. They also did not respond to our messages or calls before our arrival so that was stressful. Overall I would say good value for the money but could be better with some even small improvements. Still, probably will choose a different hotel for next time.

• Winna (8/5): Londra very good - Posizione ottima vicino a Westminster, vicino alla fermata della metropolitana. La camera è posizionata sopra un pub ma chiude presto e non c'è disturbo. La moquette che purtroppo loro usano ovunque. Il letto non era comodissimo era un po' sfondato.
