Guest Reviews
- Sophie (8/5): Great location and host. Small-Medium size but functional, and nicely decorated for the style. - Great location. Comfortable and clean. Mara was helpful in the lead up to our stay, and kept everything neat and tidy daily while we were there.
Bathroom was small as expected, but completely suitable for us for 3 nights.
- Laura (10/5): - Personal amable y atento. Muy bien ubicado Caro, pero todo en Londres no es
- Andrea (9/5): - During my travels, I usually do not visit the same place twice. However, last year I stayed three nights at this hotel, found it very suitable, and decided to book it again this year during the same period.
The cozy room is sufficiently spacious for a short stay. It has a single bed, a chair, a bedside table, a cabinet with a television, and an electric kettle for making tea or coffee. The cabinet can also be used for working on a laptop, although it is not a proper desk. The private bathroom was very clean.
The owner is very kind; she welcomes you warmly and ensures that everything is suitable for a pleasant stay.
There are several tube lines within a 10-minute walk, so the location is very well connected to the city.
You sometimes hear about crazy experiences with rooms in London, but I would reassure anyone looking for a comfortable, reasonably sized room that this hotel meets all standard expectations.
It was great to be back, and I hope to stay here again on future visits to the city.

- Marija (6/5): Ugodan boravak. - Nisam koristila doručak. Izuzetno ljubazna vlasnica. Dobar položaj. Mirna četvrt.PPo nemam neki poseban prigovor.
- Mildred (6/5): Very convenient for shopping & touring London - The host is super lovely and helpful If you have lots of bags, it’s can be a nightmare

- Michel (8/5): -
- Leila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oliver (10/5): Would come again. - A good room and friendly helpful staff
- Olga (3/5): Good but with issues - There were good things we liked. The most important was the owner who was a lovely person and wanted to be super helpful and was. There was a refrigerator in the room and a Tesco supermarket within a 2 minute walk across the street, along with some cafes. The shower had good water pressure. This hotel is a converted Victorian and it is showing its age. For example, the bed was very uncomfortable even though the owner gave us a feather mattress cover that helped. It took 4 to 5 tries to flush the toilet each time in the room we had. There was no telephone to call with any problems, you have to go downstairs and knock on the door of the owners office /home. But the most important thing is that the hotels on the street, Shepherd's Bush road, do not have elevators. The wonderful owner gave me the lowest level room when she saw I had mobility issues because there are no rooms on the ground floor. This means I had to go up and down 17 steps each time, which is a lot for someone who is disabled and difficult to do with suitcases. If you have mobility issues these hotels are not a good idea. Always ask a hotel if they have an elevator because most of these do not. I would love to give the hotel a glowing review because the owner, Maura is such a wonderful and kind human being but realistically the facilities and amenities are problematic. The price is relatively low but there are a few issues.
- Pascale (10/5): Very nice stay in London - We had a very nice stay at the hotel Sergul.
The hotel is built in the typical londonian style, the rooms were exceptionally clean and Mara is a very nice and helpful lady🙏
- Todd (10/5): Mara was very nice and warm. - Very European-like. Very Victorian and quaint. Very comfortable blankets.
- Ashantha (8/5): Very good - Good location, clean room and friendly staff. The room was warm and comfortable. Nothing.
- Sergejs (8/5): Very good -
- Chantellemc (8/5): Very good -
- Heather (10/5): A great value location for a 4 day visit to London close to the tube & cafes - We were greeted by our wonderful host Mara, whom kept in touch prior to our arrival. The hotel Sergul is a convenient location to the station. Our room though small, was cosy with beautifully comfortable beds & pillows.
Also we could leave our luggage on our last day as our flight was in the evening .. a bonus for sure Nothing
- Joyce (6/5): Mara is a lovely person and is accommodating. I would say this place is fine for one or two nights but nothing longer. - Location was great and so
Was host Mara Beds were uncomfortable, had to ask for fresh towels, tv didn’t work, no whitener or milk for coffee.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (2/5): Very poor -
- Can (9/5): Cozy hotel in a quiet neighborhood. - It's a very cozy hotel. You feel less like staying in a hotel and more like crashing at a friend's extra room in their home.
- Olegbu (8/5): Very good - Good location, everything is clean. The room was rather small, and there was no air conditioning. It was way too hot!
- Carol (8/5): Very good - Excellent communication with the host. Very clean Overall the decor looks tired and in need of updating.
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (8/5): Comfortable - The host was very welcoming and accommodating, even going so far as to carry my very heavy suitcase up 4 flights of stairs. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed, very close to public transport with 2 tube stations a 10 minute walk away. Very vibrant and cool area. It was a bit noisy and I would have appreciated a fan as it was very hot.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Perfect location
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oliva (9/5): This hotel is old school with a real key to get into the room! I! - The hotel proprietor, Mara, is very attentive and kind to her guest. I was able to check in early! My room was located towards the back so it was quiet. My bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom clean. You get an assortment of tea bags, instant coffee, chocolate drink mix & cookies on the desk with an electric kettle. If you want a slick modern room with a credit card key, this hotel is not for you! I liked the diverse neighborhood with a Tesco a block away. I enjoyed my three night stay!
- Roxana (9/5): Superb -
- Philip (9/5): Enjoyable Stay. - We enjoyed a three night stay at the Hotel Sergul. The room was clean and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities, plus a small fridge.
Mara was a good host and gave helpful travel advice prior to our visit.
The hotel is a short walk from multiple rail and underground stations. It also has plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops located very close by.
I am happy to recommend a stay here. Shower room was a little small, but not a big bother.
- Abdul (9/5): Superb - Clean, supportive staff
- Elizabeth (8/5): Hotel Sergul is a great choice for a first time visitor in one of London's many neighborhoods. - We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Sergul. This was our first time in London and the first stop on our trip. We were pleased that we were able to easily walk from the tube to the hotel and were happy that there wee so many small, but varied, neighborhood restaurants within walking distance. The proprietor was extremely helpful in helping us navigate public transportation options and offering restaurant suggestions. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable and the room was kept very clean. We really enjoyed that we were walking distance from the Thames and the pubs along the river.
- Patrick (8/5): A nice, modest little place to stay that'll be great for others on weekend trips. - The location was great with amenities close by, a little noisy, but that's London for you. Mara the manager was very friendly and open to any questions and requests. The room itself was nice, clean and was just about all my brother and I needed really. The bathroom was quite small. Not much else worth mentioning, it was all good.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Mara was very pleasant.
Accommodation was close to facilities.
- Liu (9/5): Superb -
- Davarinou (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carlo (8/5): Very good -
- Rod (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): I appreciated the charms of a small hotel with all the necessities of a traveller well provided. - I found that all my essential needs were well satisfied and provided a solid base for my enjoyable visit to London. Being midway between Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush, each with underground and buses, all London's attractions are easily reachable. Also the connection to Heathrow on the Piccadilly line from Hammersmith is very handy. The local area of Brook Green retains much of its interest and charm. More expensive hotels offer extra facilities. However these facilities were all available locally and with a pleasing range of choices as well. These include places for breakfast and coffee, a good selection of restaurants, and several good English pubs.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Location
- Andy (9/5): I will stick with this hotel for future city trips to London. - We had a amazing stay; the owner was very friendly, the beds were terrific and the tube was just 10 minutes away. Also, the curtains were really thick, so you will not wake up early if you want to sleep in. The bathroom was a bit narrow, so if you are bigger it could be difficult to move around. Still, I don't think this is a real 'complaint' since the price reflects the room perfectly.
- Nunziata (8/5): Highly recommended! - The accommodation was nice and clean, and the hotel is located at 5 minutes walk from main tube stations.
The added value were Mara and her son! They allowed me to do a late check out, made sure my room was cleaned daily, helped to carry my heavy luggage up and downstairs and were very nice throughout my stay!
- Raphael (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing little hotel. Mara was extremely helpful. The room has everything you need, is clean and well furnished with a comfortable bed. Location is very good with lots of restaurants in the neighbourhood.
- Guillaume (7/5): Good -
- Fei (10/5): Felt at home! - The owner Mara was super nice and helpful. She let me leave my luggage at the hotel after checkout time until I retrieved it at night. She helped me find a restaurant after hours, called Stansted Express for train schedule, and waited for a Uber with me at the door. I felt like a guest in a relative's house.
- Cathleen (10/5): Very nice stay. Highly recommend! - Great location - easy access to everything. Lots of shops, restaurants nearby and very close to several tube stations. Our host was wonderful! Very nice stay. Highly recommend!
- Sakthi (7/5): Good -
- Marshall (8/5): Mara the superstar - Mara is an absolute superstar of a lady. From start to finish right after I booked she helped me with travel updates. Just brilliant. The room did exactly what I needed it for which was for me to get a comfortable night's sleep which I did. Didn't bother with the TV or the fridge but good to know they are there and the Internet passwords are in the room which is a help too. When I logged on to the Internet the connection wasn't the best but to be honest I didn't really need it anyway because I was only really there to sleep.
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hubberstey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raffaella (9/5): Superb - Good position, comfortable, clean, quite room, very gentle host.
- Nadav (8/5): Very good - Mara is great! she stayed late for my check in upon arrival and helped me plan my route to Gatwick airport
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Omar (8/5): Very good -
- Yoshiyuki (10/5): Great! - Clean room, friendly host, and fair price Nothing
- Federico (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location. Mrs Maura was very nice. We enjoy very much our stay and the surroundings
- Andrea (10/5): very pleasant - privacy, kindness , cleanness, good value
- Henning (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bartlett (10/5): Perfect location, comfortable and friendly, couldn't ask for more. - Perfect location, great baker/cafe right over the road for breakfast, bus stop right outside, short walk to Apollo, good restaurants and pubs in easy reach. Really friendly host, room had everything we needed, was very comfortable and clean. Despite being on a busy road the noise was fine. Absolutely can't fault Sergul! Will stay again!

- Tomomaru (8/5): Very good -
- Shaun (8/5): Very good -
- Judy (8/5): Very good - Mara was extremely helpful with directions and advice on the transport strikes at the time. Most accommodating with minding our bags after check out time before transferring to the airport. Location excellent with easy access to transport, cafes and other food venues. The bathroom was quite small as you would expect in a period premises.
- Marc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): There aren't many better values in London. - The friendliness was great, I felt like I was really important and valued there as she even called ahead to a restaurant for me to check if tables were available. Nothing really to mention, for the price it was fantastic.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Joan (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): lovely place to stay friendly hosts and nice and clean would recommend - everything
- Akeil (8/5): Very good -
- Janiraa (8/5): Very good - We had a lovely stay there for 4 nights and our room was really nice. The room was cleaned daily including our bedding. Beds were very comfortable. The host was super nice and gave us good advice. Location is good with a Tesco Superstore very close to the hotel and three underground stations at easy walking distance. Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about this place. You might be woken up by the noice of traffic in the morning, but I would say that's just how central London is.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
