Guest Reviews
- Iftidzatus (7/5): Hotel is clean and comfortable but there is no elevator and it’s far from kaminarimon. - It’s clean There is no elevator and far from kaminarimon
- silvia-luna (8/5): - Rooms were comfortable. Everything clean and functional.
Rooms are bit small but are well equiped. They have no option to leave luggage stored for some days.
- Ting (6/5): -
- Angelica (6/5): Clean and pretty but not good for sleep - The room is spacious and very clean, and the check in process was very simple. The complimentary pyjamas were nice. The blinds on the window let a lot of light in and woke us up early, and the walls were very thin do the other hotel members also woke us up walking past the room.
- Alina (10/5): -
- BOURREAU (9/5): -
- Ariadna (9/5): I did not want to leave the room, it was that amazing. - The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the history behind the hotel is quite interesting as well, you can look up some interviews! There is no elevator, which, of course, is unavoidable with the kind of building, but we were carrying quite a lot of luggage up and down narrow stairs - though the lovely staff helped us.
- Yanick S. (7/5): -
- Sara (10/5): Soggiorno semplicemente perfetto - La camera era bellissima, curata in ogni dettaglio, ordinata e davvero confortevole.
- Moreno (8/5): -
- Milad (9/5): Good value, cute rooms - Comfortable and clean. Quiet location and close to Asakusa. A bit difficult to access from downtown.

- Lachlan (10/5): Definitely would recommend :) - Very spacious room, modern amenities, in the heart of Tokyo but in a very quiet suburb. close to the local bus + train, I’d definitely recommend! There wasn’t a subway super close by, but it wasn’t an issue at all as the bus was easy to use. The subway was only a 10min walk away so not too bad!
- Lagouardette (9/5): -
- Orell (10/5): -
- Velasco (8/5): The place is really close to the bus station, clean every day, and super spacious—great for a family of four or less. Th - Located near the bus station, the place is clean and maintained daily. It is also very spacious, perfect for a family of four or fewer The only thing I didn’t like is that there is no lift

- Yihuan (10/5): -
- Julija (8/5): One of the best rooms we stayed in Japan 🇯🇵 - Great facilities, convenient location. The only disadvantage is the bar downstairs. On Friday night there is karaoke happening till 11pm at least, not possible to sleep. On Weekdays it is an amazing place, quiet and comfortable. Bar downstairs can be loud during weekend.
- Aleshia (10/5): My October stay at the great Moire Hotel Yoshiwara! - I truly enjoyed my stay there at the "Moire Hotel Yoshiwara". I stayed for about three weeks. Initially, I read all of the reviews about the hotel and I came across one problem that a lot of people complained about. They stated they had a hard time getting into the building because they never received their access pin. I can assure you this is not a problem! I received an email after I booked the room about the check-in process and it even informed me on how to check in online and through an app called "Line". If you follow the instructions and read it thoroughly. Then your stay will be pleasant as well.
The cleaning staff were amazing! Every time I left the sign on the door for the room to be cleaned. I knew I was coming back for a treat. The room would be completely clean and all of the towels, the hotel-supplied toothbrushes, and creams would be replenished with the bed made. The cleaning staff will leave you new towels if you place the do-not-disturb sign on your door. Also, if you do want the room cleaned, place the provided Clean My Room sign on the door at 20:00 hrs (8 pm) the day before.
The rooms look exactly as they do in the pictures! The beds and pillows are firm and I slept just fine. If you ever have trouble during your stay send a message to the hotel and they will handle it. Sometimes problems were handled without a response. So your issue will be fixed!
For those of you who are light sleepers, please be advised that you will hear noise during the day from the neighboring rooms and normal day-to-day operations. So bring some earplugs, if you need to. At night the noise is pretty minimal. Please also be prepared to climb a set of stairs with your luggage upon arrival. It's not super bad but just be aware.
It's a 13-minute bus ride or a 20-minute walk to Sensoji Temple. If you get there early there are no crowds. Denny's in Higashiasakusa is a 7-minute walk away for breakfast as well. I didn't have any dislikes that stemmed from the hotel. I loved it.
- Björn (8/5): I would book it again. - Two queen-size futons broad enough for a family of four with small children, quiet, within walking distance to Asakusa shrines, window could be opened. Small stairs to 1F. A bit of walk to next metro station, at least after a long-distance flight with small children - however, next morning you will enjoy the walk through the neighborhood.
- Azadeh (10/5): - The room was spacious and beautiful amd super clean. The stairs were quite steep but it was fine for us but no elevator .
- Albert (1/5): -
- Albert (1/5): Well, cool rooms & interesting area but in my 20 years of coming to Tokyo I’ve never stayed in a hotel with such poo - Cool design, interesting area I didn’t mind the no-staff or contactless thing Moire Hotel is pushing, but it was done extremely poorly. Messages were slow, unclear, and often you had to proactively call staff for basic things like room pin number, which in itself was often frustrating as none of the staff spoke any english.
For more context, upon booking they send you a web form to fill out and supposedly they will send you the code for the doors. But multiple times half a day or more will pass and no response. When they did message it was through booking.com app and not email, which was also not communicated. And when you reply through the booking.com app, they may or may not reply, even if you give it a full day.
Tried calling - the male staff demanded I email them (no english, no english, email he said), and I did, but it took hours for them to reply a simple thing that would’ve taken 3 seconds at any other hotel. And frankly he was just rude, it was 6pm already and I had been waiting all day to get a code so I can get into the room I paid for. Plus it was raining at the time.
Another time calling - a female staff and I were on the phone for about 20 minutes, mostly in silence. I would periodically ask if she could hear me, or understand me, and sometimes I would get a yes. Most time it was just no response, and sometimes she would put me on hold for a bit. Maybe halfway through the call she sent me relevant message through booking.com app, but she didn’t tell me she sent it or where she sent it so I found out just by manually refreshing my email and apps. I’ve never had this experience at any other hotel, Japan or not.
I will say she had a good attitude and I could tell she was trying to help. Can’t say the same for the previous guy. Bartender and cleaning staff when they were there were also friendly and cordial.
I’m not sure how hard it is to hire someone with basic english, or have a translator app or something by the phone, because this seems like such an easy thing to fix.
- Janna (10/5): We really enjoyed it.it was quiet which was nice after a long day in Tokyo - Very clean and beautiful room It is a bit of a walk to things but not bad
- Anton (9/5): Great value for money - We stayed here with our two kids and it worked really well for us. The daily cleaning was much appreciated — special thanks to the cleaning lady for doing such a great job!
It’s about a 20-minute walk to the nearest metro station, but the location is still convenient if you’re taking taxis. Most major attractions are just a 10 to 20-minute drive away, or about 1 to 1.5 hours by public transport.
- Maissen (10/5): - The house keeping guy was very kind and polite. The room was gorgeous It was a bit far from main attractions
- Minh (7/5): Good -
- Anazov (7/5): Impossible to check in - Nice and clean room Hotel sent wrong password for doors, it was impossible to get in touch with them. We waited on the street with small children for 40min until one cleaning lady came and helped us. Their online check in system is not working at all...
- Antonella (9/5): Superb -
- Olufemi (9/5): A nice automated hotel with a small hiccup. - The room was amazing. It's just like in the pictures (I got the black room), the bed was comfy, it was super tidy, and the bathroom and shower were really nice. There are toiletries provided. I booked only a couple days before I stayed there, and it seems the hotel expects more than a week in advance, so that their system can send you the code you need to get in. There doesn't seem to be any real staff to speak of (I only stayed one night so I didn't even see any cleaners) which is actually fine, but since I didn't have a code, I couldn't get in. There's a QR code you can scan on the front door for assistance, but it directed me to a conversation with an AI chatbot on LINE. The chatbot then tries to get you to fill out a form, and the whole thing wasn't very responsive nor did it manage to give me a code. It took a while to get in touch with a real person and get into the hotel.
- Piyapat (9/5): Superb -
- Michaela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emarin (6/5): So so - It was so clean and full of facilities.
The bus stop just 4min walk. Bad location, you need to walk around 15mins to the nearest station and the hotel was around with bath service 🥲
No elevator
No 24 front desk
No baggage service
Plus, they took forever to respond (kidding, they took a 2-3days)
- Daria (8/5): Cool place! - A great room and quite an interesting hotel! The bed was soft, and I was thrilled with the toilet! :D They cleaned every day, and tea and toothbrushes were provided.
Overall, I liked everything. The biggest drawback is the lack of an elevator. There are only three floors, which isn’t a problem if you don’t have suitcases. But if you have large suitcases, carrying them to the top floor will be pure torture :(
- Florian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Josh (3/5): Poor -
- Maissen (9/5): Great - I liked how clean and vast it was compared to other hotels in the area. There was very comfortable bed and modern room with a traditional touch No ironing machine
No elevator
- Kazlauskienė (9/5): Superb -
- Marcela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yung (9/5): Overall a pleasant experience - Spacious, nicely decorated and well designed. Also the facility is quite new. I heard the toilet flushing at midnight during my sleep, but no one was using the toilet.
- Ethan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (1/5): Bad -
- Florry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional - The room, amenities, space, comfort of the bed, bathroom, tv. It is more a comment for the hotel: please stop using so many little shampoos and soap, put bigger ones (reduce plastic).I felt guilty haha.
Location is quite far 30-45min distance from most touristic places.
- Francisco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annabelle (9/5): Very beautiful hotel! Just narrow stairs no elevator so you have to be careful going up the stairs. - The room is gorgeous and spacious! The shower is modern.. the pijamas were so nice to. They provided a lot of towels and products. It was just difficult to reach when you are carrying suitcases. We had to take the bus from asakusa and buses are often crowded. Then the stairs going to the rooms are narrow so we also struggled a bit.
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sebastien (6/5): Pleasant -
- Trubachov (8/5): Very good -
- Thomas (1/5): Bad -
- Nicky (9/5): Superb -
- Eduardo (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kenzie (7/5): Nice relaxed property in a chill part of Tokyo! - Very spacious room with nice facilities. Accessibility left a bit to be desired… No elevator, so my partner had to carry our two 40kg suitcases up the flights of stairs — bit rough!! The last day + night we were there all the lights were off in the corridor/staircase so when it came to taking all of luggage down it was a little bit dangerous! it was a little bit hard to get in contact with the staff if there was an emergency…
- Waleed (9/5): Superb -
- Koko (9/5): Superb -
- Alexander (9/5): Cool Japanese-style apartment in central Tokyo - contactless check in / out, well equipped, comfortable bed, good shower location could be better, registration process was a pain because link didn’t work
- Wendy (7/5): Good - Very comfortable room with excellent facilities and features. The (discounted?) rate was incredible value for Tokyo. Beds were super comfortable for a great night's sleep. Important information for guests - when we visited the property was completely contactless, no staff on site. You have to pay online with a link, fill in a check-in form (in Japanese) and you receive a check in code for the electronic door locks. I managed to check in using google translate, and was told a room number and code but later I was given a different room number and code to be closer to my friend (we had separate rooms booked). When we got there, my code didn't work, but my friends one did - they gave us the wrong code. But the first room number and code they initially gave me worked so I used that room instead. Then a staff member entered my friend's room using a code unexpectedly, and apologised. She didn't speak english, so through google translate we explained the situation, but it was concerning that anyone with a code can enter your room.
Finally, before check out the next morning I left my room but when I came back within the timeframe, I couldn't enter the room anymore, though all my stuff was inside. The code had expired? This lead to stressful times downloading Skype and trying to call the hotel to ask for the code so I could check out, but it took a while to find the right phone number and contact them. If I didn't have my phone on me, I would have been stuck until the cleaner came! Anyway, if you speak and read Japanese, and have a Japanese Sim card for phone calls and data, perhaps you won't have as many problems!
Oh also the area is near/within a red light district, and there is a bar downstairs that plays loud music until about 11pm.
- Jamniandamrongkan (10/5): Exceptional -
