!CAUTION! This property is a monumental canal house with STEEP STAIRS and NO ELEVATOR. The reception is on the first floor and there are four floors in total, all ONLY REACHABLE BY STAIRS. People having trouble walking stairs are recommended to take caution and pack lightly.

- KIM (6/5): - Très bon emplacement. Check in / check out facile et pratique. Les lits superposés pas très confortables, font beaucoup de bruit dès qu'on bouge. Impossible de s'asseoir sur le lit du bas, il font monter sur le lit du haut pour pouvoir s'asseoir quelque part dans la chambre. C'est une ambiance dortoir, pas fait pour rester dans la chambre mais à ce prix-là on aimerait un peu plus de confort.

- SAMANTHA LOUISSE (10/5): Fantastic. - The staff were the loveliest- helped us with our heavy luggages during check in and check out. The room is complete with everything you may need: kettle, hair dryer, fan, heater, lamp, stocked pantry and a small fridge. Only thing missing is a microwave, but this is compensated by the free croissants (which were some of the best we’ve had in our Euro trip) served during breakfast. Only thing to note is that stairs are steep and there is no elevator available— however this is something we know prior to booking.

Pagar casi 300€ por noche por una habitacion de 10 m2, mal conservada, sin una silla donde sentarse, con un perchero de pared como unico armario, con un baño de 2 m2 ( medidos), con personal unicamente durante 5 horas de 24 h al dia y con un telefono de emergencias que no contestan, todo ello define el peor hotel en relacion calidad precio en el que jamas haya estado y ya llevo 30 años viajando. Un 0 a booking porque las reseñas que marcan 8 de valoracion media engañan, SON FAKE. NO SON FIABLES. Revisando veo que en trustpilot el hotel esta pesimamente puntuado.

Für den Preis trotz der hervorragenden Lage dann doch zu spartanisch eingerichtet, das Kajütenbett wacklig wenn sich wer bewegt, im Viererzimmer so gut wie keine Ablagefläche.

Las camas comodísimas y el personal del hotel muy amable, nos facilitaron todo. Nuestra habitación era de 6 personas aunque solo estábamos 4. Era demasiado pequeña, sobre todo el baño...no me quiero imaginar si hubiésemos sido 6. Estuvimos 4 noches, y no pasaron a limpiar la habitación ningún día. En las instrucciones de la habitación decía que limpiaban después de la tercera noche, que ya nos sorprendió, pero no pasaron en ningún momento.

When I originally booked the room it was to have 2 twin beds and a bunk bed. Instead we got a room with a double bed bunk bed. Shower room was very small and dark. The shower head wouldn’t stay up so had to hold it while having a shower.
- Maud (1/5): Très décevant. - L’emplacement idéal La chambre 6, état d’usure avancé. Sale, conditions de sécurité déplorable (électricité, fils qui sortent des murs, multiprises au sol…). Trous dans les murs, humidité dans les plinthes avec taches. Nous avons demandé un dédommagement à l’hôtel que nous avons obtenu avec reconnaissance de la mésaventure. Il est temps de faire les travaux. Sachez qu’en cas d’incendie, il est impossible de sortir du bâtiment, le velux du toit vient se poser sur le mur de la maison voisine.
- Nina (2/5): Mold room 10 - Location is really good. Room 10 smells a lot from mold, its a two bed room on the top floor. Avoid it if you must stay here ! Our clothes smelled from mold after a couple of hours indoors not to mention how we smelled after a weekend. We will have to wash all clothes. It is certainely not a 4 star hotel more like 2 stars, and that is without the mold.

Le istruzioni erano chiare per fare il check-in in autonomia La camera puzzava di umido, l’odore ha impregnato i vestiti, il bagno era molto piccolo e mansardato, quando si faceva la doccia si bagnava tutto il pavimento e non si poteva entrare in bagno finché non si fosse asciugato tutto.

- Andrew (7/5): Great location in Amsterdam for the price - The hotel was centrally located and easy to find. The room was clean and had an en-suite bathroom. The beds were comfortable and there was enough storage space for 2 people (we were provided extra pillows upon request also). The staff were friendly and helpful, and allowed us to store our luggage there before our trip home after checking out. The room itself was a little cramped; where our room was on the top floor the ceiling was angled and it did reduce headspace quite considerably. The room was also quite cold and whilst there was an adjustable radiator which could be used to heat it this was quite difficult to maintain.

Buonissima la colazione della mattina. Belle le camere al 2^ e 3^ piano, senza moquette. I bagni nuovi e moderni. Il personale è stato super gentile! La camera con moquette al primo piano era più “sporca” e con la moquette sembrava più “trasandata”, consiglierei di lasciare solamente il pavimento in legno. Dalle finestre entra parecchia luce la mattina, sarebbe meglio mettere qualcosa di più coprente. La scala all’entrata é davvero ripida, con un neonato e un passeggino non era una passeggiata.

Apesar de não servirem pequeno almoço, há um mimo para os hóspedes pelas 9h15 - café, croissant e fruta. Votariamos a hospedar-nos lá. Casa de banho poderia ser melhorada.

Odamız en üst kattaydı ve merdivenler çok dik olduğu için çıkmak biraz zordu ama sanırım amsterdam hep böyle :)) bir de tuvalet-banyo beklediğimizden küçüktü.

They helped us with directions and discounts for attractions. They honestly made the hotels rating higher than what I would have given it. Easy to access outside of reception times and had a luggage room to leave our bags on our last day Shower was really smelly, as if someone had used it as a toilet and the walls hadn't been cleaned. We cleaned it ourselves and the smell did go away, there were stains on the walls as if someone had spilt a drink and just needed and really good clean. Bunk bed rails were very low, my daughter (11) almost fell out in the night. It's a decent hotel overall but not a 4 star.

- Michael (8/5): Traditional Building, Good Location, Value for Money. Don't expect posh hotel facilities. - The hotel is right by a stop on the Tram 4 line. An excellent tram that can take you directly to the central railway station going in one direction. In the other direction you can change trams one stop along to get to the main museums and the Heineken experience. The bus to the Keukenhof tulip gardens also left from one of the stops along the tram 4 route. You are within walking distance of many cafes and restaurants. if you do not mind walking, a half hour along the canal from outside the hotel will get you to the Anne Frank house The room we had was on the top floor. Stairs in the old Dutch houses are very steep and narrow, but the hotel does warn you of this and it was expected. Our room was in the eaves and my height did not help in the sloped ceiling room, however, the room was clean, comfortable and warm. The toilet and shower were a wet room style and quite cosy, but they did the job. The reception was open from 9 to 2 which meant we did not see anyone most days as were up and out before then. On our last day we left out luggage in the left luggage area, but then realised that if we handed in our room key we would not be able to access the room as the door requires your room key to enter, I rang the hotel reception while we were out and they assured me our room key could be retained and they would adjust it so that we could no longer access our room after checking out, but could access the left luggage area. As it was, we returned just before 2. The gent on reception was there and was very friendly, there was coffee, juice and pastries available. The hotel does not provide breakfast, however, if you are not going out until after 9, you can enjoy the light refreshments in the reception area. There is no shortage of eating places nearby. On our first morning we took the tram back to the main station and visited a nice pancake cafe. On other days there are nearby places, but we also went to attractions early and used cafes on those sites. The left luggage issue could have been better handled, it would be easier if reception was open at 8 so they could more easily be communicated with.

In den Zimmern gibt es keinerlei Ausstattung. Die Betten sind alt und absolut schrecklich. Die Zimmer sind so klein, dass man sich kaum darin bewegen kann. Es gibt keinen Aufzug, und die Treppen sind extrem schmal und gefährlich. Außerdem gibt es keinerlei Hilfe, um das Gepäck nach oben zu bringen. An der Rezeption ist nie jemand da, und niemand kümmert sich um die Bedürfnisse der Gäste

- Concetta (10/5): Se dovessi ritornare ad Amsterdam, sceglierei lo stesso hotel - La posizione della struttura è ottima e ci ha permesso di spostarci facilmente sia a piedi che con i mezzi avendo la fermata a pochi passi dall’hotel. L’unica pecca sono le scale strette ed alte da fare, ma sono solo un piccolo particolare che va “accantonato” guardando tutto il resto. La stanza era piccola ma molto accogliente e pulita, con tutte le comodità a disposizione, partendo dall’asciuga capelli grande e non i soliti che si trovano negli hotel <3. Nota molto positiva per l’assistenza che ci hanno fornito di notte avendo dimenticato la chiave in stanza ed il problema è stato risolto in meno di 5 minuti! assolutamente nulla!

- simons (7/5): - De locatie icm met de prijs De kamer was vrij klein en er was geen stoel aanwezig om even te zitten. De receptie was om 14 uur gesloten. Op zich geen probleem, maar daardoor kon je ook geen gebruik maken van de tafeltjes en stoellen. Dus even ergens rustig zitten was er niet bij.
- Lena (1/5): Das Zimmer entspricht nicht der Beschreibung und den Fotos aus dem Internet - Die Lage war gut. Die Zimmer auf den Bildern entsprechen nicht (mehr) der Realität. Das gebuchte Zimmer existiert laut Aussage des Personals nicht mehr. Alle Zimmer wurden mit Stockbetten ausgestattet, Optik und Komfort liegen unter Jugendherberge-Niveau. Von dem „Boutique Hotel Charme“ ist nichts zu sehen. Keine Heizkörper in den Bädern, überall Schimmel. Das Zimmer glich eher einer Abstellkammer. Eine riesige Enttäuschung!
- Mirna (9/5): - Era molto pulito, bella vista e ottima posizione vicinissimo alla fermata dal tram e con supermercato e negozi sotto l'hotel, se volevi raggiungere altre zone più centrali era tutto lontano 10/15 min. C'erano anche cornetti e caffè inclusi alla reception. Cambio asciugamani e pulizia camera tutte le mattine su richiesta. Si poteva regolare facilmente la temperatura dei termosifoni. Non ci sono piaciute le scale ripidissime ma è la "bellezza" degli edifici tipici olandesi e il fatto che ci fosse solo un piccolo bagno per 6 persone... però se ci si organizzava non era un problema. Avevamo tutti il sonno pesante però si sentivano molto i rumori delle persone giù al bar e delle persone che ritornavano la sera tardi in hotel...quindi consiglio tappi per chi ha problemi di sonno.

- Sofia (7/5): - La posizione era veramente fantastica, vicino a tutti i punti centrali da visitare, ottima zona tranquilla e sicura. La stanza era adeguata anche se avevamo richiesto un letto matrimoniale classico e non a castello. Ma era comunque comoda e pratica. Unica cosa negativa è che era poco insonorizzata, si sentivano i rumori dalle scale e delle stanze laterali. Nel complesso però è stato un bel soggiorno!
