- Urquhart (8/5): - Great location, ideal for trails Bin wasn't emptied, bedroom not cleaned
- Andrew (8/5): - Location was good for starting hikes.
The lady who runs it was very friendly and informative on local walks and weather.
Breakfast was adequate with good scrambled egg Very noisy in the room due to lack of soundproofing.
No hairdryer
Quite expensive compared to other hostels (booked before we left)
No fresh fruit for breakfast.
- Olga (5/5): Breakfast was great. - It is located just a short walk from two major trekking trails. It’s barebones, which is OK, but it’s shabby.
- VaneHinos (10/5): - La atención es excelente
- Andrea (8/5): Best budget friendly option for Chalten with comfort - Location is perfect for the hikes. the staff is friendly. the door of the room is very thin as are the walls so can be a bit noisy (did not bother in our case)

- Kayla (3/5): Would not stay here again. - The staff are lovely!! And the location is good. The hot water didn’t work well. The rooms echo and it is so loud at night as the staff work late and are taking phone calls at the desk. You can hear absolutely everything.

- Andrea (7/5): Awesome staff, good location - The owner lady was great! Very helpful. Arranged a breakfast to go for an early start.
Nice area for breakfast
The location was good The breakfast could be bit better considering that people go hiking for the whole day.
We got little bit of eggs and jam and toast.
Would be appreciated to get some fresh fruit, ham, cheese.
The bathroom needs bit more shelves or hooks

- Max (9/5): Prima uitvalsbasis voor actieve wandeldagen - Goed bereikbaar, prima ontbijt, zeer vriendelijk behulpzaam personeel!

Nada

- Lott (9/5): custo beneficio excelente!
- Markus (9/5): Definitely go there - Free parking
Staff/owner is very nice and supports with tips where to go
Fast Laundry service
Scrambled eggs after 6 weeks traveling! Thanks!!! Can be noisy due to construction of the building and depending on other guests
- Atanas (6/5): - Location is great. Clean. Great for 1-2 night stay Extremely noisy - every time somebody opened the corridor door or their room door the whole floor heard it. Extremely loud and not possible to sleep before the others go to bed.
Coffee in the machine filter was at least a week old.
- Marcia (8/5): - Very convenient location and the owner was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable.
- Luca Morelli (10/5): - Staff gentile e super disponibile!! Lo raccomando assolutamente!
- Filipp (10/5): -
- Adalberto (6/5): -
- Jadudova (7/5): -
- Emmanuel (10/5): Exceptional - The location is very good, not far from restaurants and the departure for the trails. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful and gave recommendations for hikes.
- Alexandru (9/5): Superb -
- Roxana (10/5): Exceptional - Everything perfect!
- Miroslav (6/5): No very good :-( - We were given a room that was taken from us the second night. I had requested a TWIN. However, we were given a double. Poor breakfast and noisy other guests :-(
- Roxana (10/5): Cozy place - I really like this kind stuff in hotel and especially manager. Good option with Breakfast. Very close to every trails in National Park.
One of the cheapest option ton have a private Room in El Chalten if you really wanna take a rest after trekking and don't share Room with anybody.
- Stefania (10/5): Exceptional - Basic but nice place… thanks!
- Isaure (7/5): Good enough for a night or two - Good location, good bedroom size, friendly staff. Could drop off our bags before our 3 day trek which was very nice of them Breakfast is very limited (a set plate with 2 scrambled eggs, bread and jam - no ham/cheese/fruits/oats like some other hotels in the area). We had a room on the ground floor and it was sometimes quite loud due to people being in the reception. We also had a window on the street, difficult to get privacy and it could not be opened either which is a bit of a shame. Bedroom looked a bit old and the bathroom door didn’t close
- Emma (9/5): Superb - Great location, comfortable rooms (and bed) and really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.
- Nathan (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Located on quiet street. Very close to the stores, restaurants, and most important entrance to the trail. If you coming early or living late, they can safely store, your luggage. Also important you can borrow hiking poles from them for free. Maybe this is normal in this region , but in our bedroom you cannot open the window. Also, there was only one outlet, which was occupied by space heater
- Jake (6/5): Pleasant - + Staff were very friendly and helpful
+ The location is great and very convenient
+ Easy parking and access - It wasn't very clean, there was some hair in the shower and generally dirt in corners and on the walls etc.
- Value for money wasn't great, the room itself was passable but had definitely seen better days and needed redecorating. Compared to prices elsewhere in Argentina and more widely I would expect more for the price.
- Janet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hilary (6/5): Uncomfortable - Cold, with gas fire, lots of fumes. Water in village was a problem, but no one told us. When we asked we were told we had to go a buy our own water. Wasn’t impressed.
- Jure (7/5): Good - There is a way into the park that avoids official entrance just uphill from the property. It’s a shame they don’t tell you about it. Breakfast is served from seven but Mauricio told us several times during check in that we should go to the park before six in order to avoid paying the expensive entrance fee and that there is no other way into the park which is false. So we missed the first breakfast but then we found a nice path into the park that avoids official entrance.
- Nathalie (8/5): Very good - Dichtbij centrum en tracking activity Braekfast should have been till 9 . Kitchen closed 8.45.
- Davidi (3/5): The worst and the most expensive hotel in our whole trip. - Location Tiny container in the backyard. There is no space to move. Dirty. No cleaning service. There is no bathroom door. Looks like a scam.
- Oceane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucianasife (3/5): Poor - facilities are worn out / poorly built. we were in the private unit outside: the whole place shook when you walked and it smelled like a septic tank (always a little, really bad in the a.m.)
a mandatory CASH ONLY security deposit is also a huge inconvenience in a country where the machines let you take less money per day than what they want.
breakfast was also poor, beds were uncomfortable and pillows were paper thin, room was super cold, doors didn't lock from the inside.
place also has rules like "no drinks or food in the rooms" (?! worth nothing our unit had a half kitchen in it...)
check in was 20min late because the attendant wasn't there.
- Gregg (7/5): Great staff and quiet location. - Staff was great! Good breakfast. The bed sheet was too small for the mattress and couldn’t be tucked in.
- Scott (7/5): Good -
- Haitian (9/5): Superb -
- Ciaran (6/5): Pleasant - Location to the hiking trails Deposit for staining the sheets is the first time I've encountered the like in 9 months of travel. Hard to understand the logic behind it. No kitchen on the premises for guest use which is unusual compared to similar properties in the area where people are may prepare food for hikes. For the price wifi was very poor and I would have expected a tv for the price in comparison to other accommodation I've stayed in Chile and Argentina.
- Adriana (7/5): Good -
- Saskia (4/5): Poor customer service - Free breakfast was lovely, good times and range of food. Heating and water worked well. Good location for hikes, supermarket etc. Main staff member made highly inappropriate/ rude comments on multiple occasions. WiFi did not work 90% of our stay. Power was out for one day.
- Jana (8/5): Very good -
- Jana (8/5): Very good -
- R (1/5): Not recommended! - We can't think of what we like in this accommodation. A damaged deposit of USD 50 was collected in case of stained bedsheets, damaged, etc. After going into the room, we showed the reception person that their bed covers already stained
The heater was terrible, if adjusted to mid - too hot for the person next to it as it was just next to the headboard. If adjusted to between mid and low, too cold for the farthest bed.
The breakfast was included but was limited to 2 pieces of white bread, one piece of cake and cereal.
As we don't speak Spanish, we had issues with one of the reception persons who claimed that she cannot understand our English and that we had to use Google translation. But we heard her speaking good English with other guests. I suppose our English's standard is too low for her.
- Federico (4/5): Not recommended - The location and breakfast. One of the staff members was incredibly unfriendly. During our whole stay, she made us feel like she was doing a favour to host us.
We had to pay a 50 euro deposit at the beginning of the stay in case you stain a towel. The crazy part is that they charge you up to 35 euros depending on the stain! One of our towels was already stained when we arrived and I asked the receptionist to change it because I didn’t want to pay for that she replied that they knew their stained towels, so I should not worry…
THE ROOM WINDOW CANNOT BE OPEN! it’s completely sealed, and the only window that opens is the small one of the toilet. Some days with the heating and 4 people sleeping there, the room was suffocating.
I would not recommend this place to any friend.
- Leszek (2/5): Very poor - The location is nice but it’s better to find some other place to sleep in this area The water from the shower was barely running which was very annoying and making the whole process of taking a shower very long. Moreover, under the floor there was a lot of water accumulated right next to the bed so that once you stepped on it your whole foot was wet. That was very disgusting. In the kitchen it was only hot tap water, while in the bathroom only cold. Besides that it was impossible to close the door from the inside. The price of this room was way too high and inadequate for quality. I am very disappointed with this place. Unfortunately some of the staff didn’t speak English at all which made it hard to explain all the issues.
- Olga (7/5): Ok for one night and considering high prices in El Chalten - The location was good and considering prices in El Chalten the price was acceptable. Breakfast was ok (scrambled eggs, bread, jam and coffee) The hostel charges you 50$ in CASH upon arrival for deposit (they accepted chilean peso from us). During check-out the room is checked almost as we are in kindergarten. Rooms were cleanish (there were some stains on the bedsheets). All the strict rules which we received before and upon arrival feel very unwelcoming (check-out at 10:00 with NO exceptions, keeping deposit for MAKEUP stains on towels etc.). The heating machine was really loud
- Craig (5/5): A bit of a walk out of town bed was horrible - Not good Bed was old and squeaky
- Andewo17 (8/5): Very good - Very welcoming and helpful staff. Spacious room. Decent breakfast. Would have been good to have a window which opens or an extractor fan in the room and bathroom. Walls are thin and the noise travels, even being in the end room we could hear people at breakfast etc.
- Annia (7/5): Update needed - The staff was very nice and helpful. The location was excellent. 1 pillow per bed, linen was stained at times and towels were so thin. The place needs an update and a good clean, grout was mouldy. The WiFI was usually down which happened around town too but somehow they were able to process Card payments.
- Julio (9/5): Superb - Great location and it was nice having our own kitchen. We were in a little building behind the main one and it gets quite cold, especially in the bathroom.
The wifi is very poor in the whole premises.
- Annia (6/5): Needs an update - Very close to many restaurants and main street. The staff was nice and helpful. Unreliable Wifi, very limited breakfast choices, room very hot, only bathroom window opened, linen very weathered, some stained. The place needs a huge update and cleaning, grout in the bathroom was moldy.
- Darren (6/5): Ok, but you can do better in El Chalten - Very basic, but private rooms. Over priced. The hostels were just as good in many ways. Staff were polite but have many silly rules to suit themselves. The staff are just trying to get you in and out with minimum effort for themselves. Not very welcoming or helpful. I appreciate El Chalten is expensive, and guests are there to hike and therefore may be wet (due to rain) or have mud on shoes etc. but unlike some hotels / hostels, the hotel makes no effort to accommodate this obvious need and combats with extra rules.
- Harry (9/5): Superb -
- Jorja (7/5): Good -
- Fabrizia (1/5): Scam - Position No working internet connection (this is actually really relevant as our internet data didn’t work in El Chaltén, so we got basically cut out of any connection for 2 days).
They take 50 USD deposit for “damages”.
They do mentioned stains on the towels but I thought about permanent stains (earthy soiling for example) but the morning of the checkout, for my big surprise, the employee came to the desk holding one of the towels as a trophy in front of other guests, saying that they would retain the 50 USD of deposit because of some foundation stains on the towel. (For reference, it was just residual stains, that would easily go away if the towel is properly washed.) They replied that the stain would not go away and that they would have been forced to buy a full new set of towels (for the cost of 50 USD) to avoid having “unmatching towels”.
Worth mentioning that this is a village low category hostel, not the Ritz.
It seemed like a precise scheme to me, and the manager was absolutely unpleasant.
- Petr (5/5): Passable - Great location and views. Marks on the sheets, stinky towels, and old mattresses. More like a hostel.
- Isapequi (8/5): Very good - Good breakfast
- Dakota (2/5): Just use your own towel and plan on not having service - Great breakfast, good location, comfy beds This is the reason for 2 stars. They charge you a 50 dollar deposit in cash, which in and of itself is fine. At checkout the front desk personnel and the cleaner lady call me into my room and because two of the towels we used were dirty… it was from the dirt residue that was on our bodies after hiking all day. Even after a shower. It was no more than normal use. At first I was told they were going to take the deposit because it’s hard to get towels to this area and they have to buy them in a package so I had to speak to a boss over the phone on their very bad Wi-Fi and the call kept dropping. I told her I wanted to speak to her in person and no one ever came. She ended up giving me 20 back so each one of those towels was 15 bucks. We were told nothing ahead of time and this is a hiking town which they know and it felt like we got scammed. They claimed we were cleaning our trekking gear and their washers aren’t good and it won’t come out. We don’t have trekking gear just normal workout clothes and shoes. Everything was fine until the very end and I didn’t end up going on the big hike we wanted to do that day because I had to deal with this. We would have just used our own towels if we were warned. 75 dollars a night definitely provides enough extra for a deep clean on dirty linen. I’ve worked at hotels and stayed at many places like such and this was the first time I’ve had to pay a deposit. Very poor business practice
- Chiara (8/5): Very good - I loved breakfast ❤️
- Emily (6/5): Pleasant - There is nothing bad about this place but nothing great either They required a cash deposit.
- Fernanda (8/5): Very good -
- Javier (5/5): OK for sleeping. - The location was perfect for hiking, the rooms were as in the pictures. The staff was friendly and helpful. The windows couldn’t be opened. The room was next to the breakfast area and it was noisy at night when they prepared the breakfast area and in the morning when other guests were there.
- Craig (4/5): Very average motel with simple breakfast. Bed was good staff were friendly - Breakfast was average , location average. As a traveller not carrying a lot of local currency it was a surprise that the staff asked for a 50000 cash deposit for any damages that may occur. This was not advertised. The only motel we have stayed at who asked for this!!
- Rebecca (3/5): Poor - Close to starting point of hiking trails All was old and shabby. Soap was empty and was not refilled. It was cold inside the room and all the staff were dirty, including the cover. There were lamps besides the bed, but no sockets to reach - so they were useless. Breakfast was not nutritious and the amount of bread was assigned.
- Junny (8/5): Very good -
- Nils (8/5): Very good -
- Alexander (7/5): good location, clean and quite place to sleep - Location, quiet enough, clean no kitchen to cook, only dinning room with microwave.
- Jan (6/5): Pleasant - This place is more like a hostel than a lodge. More suited for back packers which this area is renowned for. Things are very basic. The main entry/reception could do with a small make over and get rid of the well worn couches.
- Daschi87 (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming and helpful staff, they also were able to provide me with gluten free breakfast items. Room was clean and comfortable, would recommend. The wifi didn't work at all.
- Susan (6/5): Pleasant -
