- Melisa (10/5): Amazing service and very comfortable bed. - Everyone is so kind and helpful. Shout out to Mardo for helping us with the room extension due to delayed flight and the other guy who worked in the afternoon when we first got there at 7-8pm who was kind enough to lend us his own umbrella just so we could walk to the supermarket to get some food. You can ask them anything and they will give you great recommendations and are willing to assist with anything they can. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable and huge. Amazing wood work everywhere and great location. Just 1.8 miles from the 3 frontiers and very nice restaurants within walking distance. The only thing I did not like is the fact that I could not stay longer. Not a single complain from my end.

- Lizzy (10/5): Perfect hotel for our visit to Iguazú Falls. - Posada del Jacaranda is peaceful, beautifully clean, and very comfortable. We stayed in a family room for 4 nights. It’s in a perfect location for the falls and the town, and had good restaurants within easy walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was excellent.
- Kaira (5/5): Disappointed and way overpriced - The owner was very nice and went out of his way, for me, but the room was below standards of what I expected from the photos and the price. Way overpriced.
The room smelled musty and there was mold on the bathroom ceiling. That could have been taken care of easily. I pointed it out it plus there was a large gash in the wall not fixed. The window was hard to close but lucky there were safety bars.
They did have a mini fridge with items. The AC did work well TG as it gets very hot and humid there.
It was hard to find for the transports both time, and the neighborhood not so nice and nothing around but homes.
Breakfast was ok. Very simple continental.
- Sioned (10/5): Lovely stay, nice decor and pool and very helpful staff - Excellent stay, we liked the decor and it had a cosy feel. We were welcomed at reception and he was very helpful in giving us alot of information about how to get to the falls and restaurants in the area. They also were very helpful in arranging a taxi for us to the airport. Supermarket and some restaurants and bus stop 5 min walk away. We walked 15mins to Aqva restaurant which was excellent, there was a lot of choice around this area. It was lovely to use the swimming pool after a hot day at the falls. Breakfast although small was plentiful and delicious. We were sad we were only here for one night. Nothing
- Monica (8/5): Very good -
- Abraham (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (7/5): Nice, pleasant stay. - The room was clean and spacious. Hot water was readily available and internet service was pretty consistent. There were some problems with electricity but the Posada had its own generator to compensate. I enjoyed speaking with the host, Kalbermatter, who was very conversational and knowledgeable about the area. He was very willing to respond to queries and requests for recommendations. There were some good restaurants a short walk away. The breakfast offered was pretty average compared to other places we've stayed at during our trip through South America. The room was a bit on the dark side, and the air conditioner was up high, so it took a while to cool off the room. The Posada itself was nicely maintained and the owner has definitely spent money fixing it up, but the area right around the Posada was a bit uneven, with nice homes and then places that were worn and beat, up with trash lying about--but that seemed to be the case with a lot of Puerto Iguazu.
- Simon (9/5): Superb - Spacious room, small swimming pool, decent breakfast A bit far from town center
- Alma (10/5): Nice place to rest! - Very nice place to stay and rest. Our stay was short but enjoyed our stay. No enough time to dislike anything.
- Trevor (10/5): Good accommodation and stay. - Accommodation good location for Iguazu Falls both Argentinian and Brazilian sides, and good local restaurants. Room and bed comfortable. Pool good. Breakfast continental style but good and plentiful. Manager very helpful as we're all staff when required. Would stay here again. Nothing
- Chris (7/5): Small place, fine for a short stay - Pool was good and owner speaks English and is helpful. Convenient to restaurants. You can walk to the central bus station in 10-15 minutes and save a lot of money compared to expensive taxis by taking the city bus to the national park. (The buses are strangely branded Rio Uruguay, but if the front of the bus says “Cataratas”, it’s going to the park). Breakfast had the smallest selection of any hotel we stayed at in South America. Room is a bit dark. Furnishings are old though comfortable enough,
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - Great location within walking distance of most restaurants. Cute little pool. Friendly staff, and though most spoke Spanish, the owner/manager did also speak English. Front desk was helpful finding us taxis/buses.
Breakfast was basic but nice to get the day started. If you're staying here, you are probably going to Iguazu Falls, and getting there early helps to beat the crowds.
Hotel allows you to keep your stuff at the front desk if you want to go out on the day you checkout. Their lobby also has some couches and tables so you can also just hang out around there during the day. Could use some upgrades. Air conditioner in our room was only partially working and was pretty warm. My friend's room had a proper working AC so they're room was nice and cool.
Towels were clean but worn.
- Gonzales (10/5): It was great and comfortable. - We loved the Area. Close to a fantastic restaurant. The bathroom toilet needed some upgrades.
- E (8/5): Big rooms and a rain forest feel inside the city limits. - Convenient for tour operators. Large bathroom and bedroom. Feels more like a large guest house, which gives a personal touch. One of the few places that keeps its pool open outside of the core summer months. A little out of the way and there was some construction material on the way to the pool.
- Sergio (8/5): Nice stay to visit waterfall - King size and very comfortable bed and good breakfast. Well located not far from good restaurant and main attraction It would require a bit more of maintenance
- Hugh (9/5): Excellent. Highly recommended - Spacious clean family room for 5. Friendly welcoming staff. Varied, plentiful breakfast. Great location, restaurants and supermarket only a short stroll, less than 5 minutes even with kids. Do visit Jardin des picaflores round the corner, booking advised. Very safe. Kalbermatter really helpful with airport transfers and Falls arrangements both sides of the border. Swimming pool understandably out of action for maintenance being winter. If this is important to you check in advance.
- Luc (9/5): Perfect - Very friendly staff All good
- Patricia (8/5): Very good -
- Eyal (7/5): Good -
- Eyal (7/5): Good - Big room and very helpful staff The room is not welcoming
The rate of the hotel should be no more then good (7)
- Suzanne (10/5): Pick this place if you like a small quiet personal experience. - Small family owned inn clean with modern amenities nicely decorated. Air conditioning in room was good. No AC in common area but that is not unusual in Puerto Iguazú. Free breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. We are 4 older women, best of friends who travel together often. We shared a room for 4 - two twin beds and one king bed - and were comfortable. Cost of room about $75 for one night. There is a fabulous restaurant 2 blocks away, very popular, inexpensive with great steak and variety of other foods. They have a stage for musicians and tango dancers. No negatives.
- Polzot (8/5): Excellent stay. Very clean and welcoming posada. Would highly reccomend. Good value for money. - Very helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and spacious/comfortable room. Good breakfast. Good location.
- Alan (10/5): Excellent. Exceeded our expectations - Front desk clerk was full of information (restaurants, obtaining taxis, anything we needed or wanted were excellant recomendations) to make our stay fantastic. Breakfast was good. No cooked breakfast available.
- Eileen (8/5): Very good - Host was soooo very helpful. Taxis and restaurants. Breakfast was good. AC was sometimes barely adequate BUT in fairness, the temperatures and humidity were very high.
- Bruno (8/5): Very good -
- Iyeta (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable. English speaking which was a tremendous help with organizing rides and tours. You will not be disappointed.
- Irma (10/5): Good value for money. Beds were comfy and buffet breakfast. - It was comfortable and staff was welcoming -
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good -
- In (10/5): Exceptional -
- Muireann (9/5): Excellent choice for couples on the go visiting Iguazu! - Clean property and in a great London for visiting the waterfalls. The staff were welcoming and the breakfast was great value for money. The pool was excellent after a long day at the falls! I would highly recommend Nothing - great value for money
- David (10/5): We would stay here again. - The owner aims to serve and keep his clients happy. Highly recommend.
- Penny (10/5): Exceptional - Mardo was exceptionally helpful
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wenying (8/5): Very good -
- Nadina (8/5): Very good - Friendly helpful staff. Good value.
- DirkV650 (10/5): Highly recommended quiet small hotel . - After our debacle across the street in the deplorable Ecohostel , we found refuge in this wonderful small hotel . Nice big room , spacious bathroom , view of the pool and garden and a really good breakfast .The owners gave much practical jnfo about trips to the waterfalls , fixed a shuttle to the airport . Did all they could to make our stay pleasurable. I would highly recommend it .
And not only for the cups of tea that Rosanna made in the evening before we went to bed . Thank you .
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karl (9/5): Great place to stay on Argentine side of falls, with very pleasant hosts. - Staff was very friendly. Kalbermatter was quite responsive to a couple messages prior to our arrival. Rosanna gave us a very warm welcome during check-in.
It was a pretty property just on the edge of town. Most dining options were about a 10-min walk away, which was fine given we were in town just for 1 night. The one thing that would have made our stay more comfortable was the AC. While the weather was pleasant during our stay, the humidity does make it feel warmer in the room.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - Very helpful owner and great place to stay!
- toe4 (8/5): Good 3 Star Hotel - Location: The hotel is located approximately 15 minutes walking distance from the Town Centre Caraguata. It is only a short distance off (less than 5 min walk) the main street AV. Victoria Aggurre leading to Iguazu Falls. At the corner of the street is a supermarket, which opens only at 4pm. In front of the supermarket, there is a bus stop. As such, on your way back from the falls you can get down from the bus at this bus halt. As the buses going to falls come fully loaded with passengers, there is a need to go to the central bus station which about a 15 minutes of walk from the hotel. The restaurants are located on the way to the town center area on the way to the central bus station. A Nacion Bank with an ATM is also located at the Town centre along the street AV. Victoria Aggurre just by the side of the hospital.
Amenities: All the electrical plug sockets (see photo) were Type I similar to what is used in Australia. Wi Fi did work well. There was no coffee/tea making facility as expected. The furniture was adequate for the price paid.
Reception/Service: Reception was extremely pleasant, courteous and helpful. The manager (may be the owner) who was on duty in the mornings was fluent in English and was extremely helpful in every way. There was one receptionist on duty in evening, who was unable to speak a word of English, but managed to give us the directions to Nacion Bank ATM entirely with the help of Google translator. This is very much appreciated. He even wrote down in a piece of paper what was translated to English.
Cleanliness: Vey high standard of cleanliness.
Breakfast: The breakfast is served almost next to the reception area. In consistent with the price paid, the breakfast was continental type with no hot dishes, but with pastries, fruits, cold meat, cheese etc.
Additional Comments: A very quiet location. This is a very good 3-star hotel. The manager also arranged a private taxi to go to the Cataratas del Iguazu International Airport at a cost of 500 AR Pesos which was very reasonable.
- majesty318 (2/5): Thieves! - As you can see from my TripAdvisor badges, I am a frequent traveler and contributor. Yet I have never had to write a review such as this one.
Back in January, I reserved this hotel and was told I would have to pay the first night via wire transfer. I really do not like doing that (fees and uncertainty), but I was told this was the only option. So I went ahead and did it, paid my bank $35, and sent the hotel a screen shot of the transaction. They replied and said my reservation was now confirmed.
In March, TWO MONTHS LATER AND JUST ONE DAY BEFORE THE RESERVATION WAS TO BEGIN, they emailed me and told me they never got my payment so they assumed the stay was cancelled. Excuse me? Obviously I freaked out - not exactly what you want to happen on what should be a vacation. I told them we were still coming and luckily they did still have the room.
When we got there and I spoke to Mardo, the owner, he told me the person who told me to pay by wire transfer was incorrect and that they only want wire from within Argentina as foreign wires don't arrive. Well, my question then is why was this other employee emailing with guests if he did not have all the information? Mardo assured me there was absolutely no way my wire could have gone through, so I had to pay by card and could take it up with my bank when I got home.
When I got home, I opened a case with the bank, who provided various forms of tracking to indicate the wire had, in fact, arrived as planned. Several times I told Mardo and he kept saying he didn't have it... until finally one day he realized he did. So now I do not understand how you could receive money into your business account yet not realize it? Or also, if someone tells you they paid and you don't see it, how you could not DOUBLE CHECK?
So then he told me he would refund me by going to Western Union and sending me cash. BUT! I would have to pay the Western Union fees. BUT! He is so very busy and just has no time to go to Western Union.
I kept emailing to check in with him between March and June - always excuses - until ultimately he stopped replying altogether.
I have never experienced something like this in my life. It is just terrible business - from the employee who answered emails without knowing how to answer them, to double paying, to being told I would have to pay fees to make up for THEIR MISTAKE - no customer service whatsoever.
I am hoping this review from a regular TripAdvisor contributor will perhaps spur Mardo to finally pay me back what I am owed.
To be fair, I suppose I should also review the actual hotel - the rooms are simple but clean. The bathroom was recently redone and was quite nice. Breakfast was included but was definitely the most basic of all our included breakfasts in Argentina. Location was good - walking distance to town. The hotel also helped to arrange a driver to pick us up at the airport and then drive us around during our whole stay.
I love to stay at small establishments but cannot recommend this one.
