• mark (10/5): Great location with friendly & helpful staff. - Friendly staff at reception Hoa was very helpful, he took great care of us. Location, cleanliness and style.
• AIMILIA (1/5): - Οnly the location Bathroom design was unacceptable: it lacked proper separation and privacy. There was no ceiling, which caused smells and noise to spread, making it extremely uncomfortable—especially for two people. One person practically had to leave the room just so the other could use the toilet. No ventilation in the bathroom, which made the situation even worse. Very impractical room setup: there were no towel racks anywhere—not in the bathroom or the room. When I raised this issue, staff said it was due to a “minimalist style,” which is not a valid excuse for lack of basic functionality. Poor architectural and interior design choices: it felt like comfort and real guest needs were completely ignored. Severe lack of soundproofing: we could hear everything—other rooms, elevators, and outside noise. It felt like there were no doors or walls at all. Overall, this was the worst experience we have ever had. On a positive note, it was clean and the staff were polite.

• Staci (1/5): If you want smoke, want convenience and small box to stay in go for it - Location only and the very nice man at reception who didn’t speak English but tried his best I originally booked a nicer room with a balcony so I could smoke, then emailed the hotel confirming I could smoke and they said no. Got to my tiny tiny room, saw the sign on the back of the door stating no smoking in rooms only outside smoking area or on BALCONY!! No place to even store my luggage, ants in the room, lock safe not working. Their ‘outdoor smoking area was a step, in front of the building, with rubbish bags and scooters parked so close I had to tuck my feet under me! The last night my air con turned off every 5 minutes for 1 hour, finally went to reception and he tried to fix it, it kept turning off itself again for a half hour then actually worked! By then it was 2am, so I didn’t actually get any sleep that night before a large dental procedure the next morning! I emailed them before posting this review and got no reply! So this is their review including (very zoomed out picture of room) and the ‘outdoor smoking area) plus the ants ins my room

• Jose (7/5): Pleasant stay with walking distance to downtown - The location is great. Close to downtown but not very loud in the evening. The staff were also very kind and helpful with our requests to make our stay as pleasant

• Hien (10/5): Good for quick crash - The staff are nice and helpful. The location is super tragedy... in the middle of all good restaurants, grocery... cant stress enough on this. Value for the money for me. The room is small compare to other places that I have stayed in HCMC. Need more lighting. Specially in front of the mirror. If you need to put on make-up before you go. This can be your show stopper.
• Samantha (4/5): Disappointing - The location was great - walkable to most places and the seven eleven was right next door. It was infested with ants, the bathroom was not actually separated from the room and you could hear everything that was going on outside.

• Daniel (7/5): Ok to sleep - If you need an hotel for 20-30€ max / night it is well located (district 1) and convenient. Yet you can still find better. I stayed for 3 nights and would say this hotel is a convenient hotel for 2 nights. I slept well. Room a bit dark and small. The bathroom is small and door very close to the bed. My room was not cleaned during these 3 nights… (bin not empty…..) and I started to feel I need some air. That’s why I would advise 2 nights max for a solo traveler.

• Chen (10/5): This is a big plus for the hotel staff. - Highly appreciate the staff Trinh at Mari Hotel for their thoughtfulness and dedication in service. The rooms are always kept clean, making us feel comfortable. The customer service is also very enthusiastic, bringing a satisfying and pleasant experience.

During the 4 days of our stay the water was warm once! Out of 20 showers, the water was warm only once! and it was like that in all the rooms! the staff did not offer any alternative! There is no spare generator! the staff said - it’s cold outside, so you’ll have to wash with cold water! The power in the sockets is lower than usual. my phone charged less than 50% in an hour

Overall worth the price The room was relatively small with majority of the space taken up by the bed (although prior mentioned in the booking), the wifi would occasionally be bad and cut out, the location is rather out of where the touristic attractions are with about a 20 minute walk on average

• Malcolm (6/5): Do not book for a couple. Suitable for single travelers only. - Location was good and the staff were helpful. The rooms are tiny. The bathroom is pretty much a glass wall 20cm away from the end of the bed. Your knees hit the toilet when you sit down. Very loud too.

I booked a room with a balcony, but unfortunately, it turned out to be very small and didn't have enough space for a table or a kitchen for cooking or dining. Be cautious of their tactics to charge you extra, such as for dirty towels or early check-ins. Remain vigilant and aware to avoid any unnecessary costs.

• Teancum (6/5): Cheap and great staff but i wont be back. - The staff were friendly and easy to deal with. There initially was some confusion due to a cancelled flight but they communicated well and understood what the problem was. This eased my stress of arriving in the city without anywhere to stay. The room was completely different to what was shown online. It did not have a seperate bathroom and the whole room smelled of mould. Im pretty sure the air conditioning unit has not been cleaned in a while as i received a respiratory infection which lasted for some days after my stay here.
• Salima (8/5): Good for cpl of nights - Lilly , with the rest of her team , were doing an excellent job. Always smiling and ready to help . Location is good , few meters to the most attractions places . Room was a bit small , enough for a solo and for cpl of nights. Minibar is there , kettle and sleepers . Many supermarkets downstairs, and stree food restaurants. Starbucks is like 100m walk so all went well . A little noisy at night, need to bring your earplugs . Smell of the Dorian at night, guest brought to his room , was smelly everywhere Wifi was cut off after midnight in my 3 nights there luckily have my data .. guess they shut off the wifi conexion which i complained abt . Other than that all good .
