Guest Reviews
- Jackson (1/5): - The booking information doesn’t state that you must be 21+ to stay here. Once I arrived and learned this, the staff said they would make an “exception” but only as long as I didn’t talk to anybody at the property or leave my room unless I was leaving the property. I did not feel safe with this and the check in process felt sketchy. Having to get cash out of their ATM to pay. The room itself which I saw for only a moment was disgusting and warm down, nothing like the pictures shown.
- Martina (1/5): - They never rang us in. the smell was disgusting
- Jose (1/5): - Es el peor lugar , es una miérda. El recepción dijo no tener mi reservación y me quería cobrar $150 , llegó me dió una habitación que apestaba a una cuadra de distancia. Me fui , no me quedé y me cobró

- Ramon (1/5): I never back there - No breakfast Nothing
- Adam (1/5): It was not good and I do not recommend it at all. - I liked nothing about it. It was very dirty. The shower was dirty and the floor was not cleaned and it had a very strong cigarette scent and burnt marks on the floor as well.

- Colman (1/5): Smelled like cigarettes, and cigarette stains all over the place - Nothing nasty the room smelled like cigarettes, extremely. there where cigarette stains all over the place. the AC doesn’t work property, and also the air blowing out of it smells like cigarettes. The only way to pay is by cash. Don’t stay here for your own sake.
- Oscar (4/5): - Room smelt very smoky, bed sheet had a brown mark over it. One of the rooms had window shattered
- Guest (1/5): I had no other option. Should had searched for another option - Nothing not a single thing The price is very high $120 the place is very simple per say. The fridge was very noisy so was the ac system. The room smells like cigarettes, you cnt leave the windows open as it is not safe.

- christophe (1/5): On a preféré fuir. - Rien.

- candace (1/5): Bookings.com you should be ashamed - The rudest woman I've ever encountered gave our room away to a walk-in who In her words" paid cash and with worth more than we were" and scolded me in front of my child for not paying in advance and that we were not worth her time. Bookings.com continuing to do business with this establishment shows blatant disregard for their customers well-being.

- Suopiene (1/5): Bad - Nothing to like I made reservations few months ago, when we arrived they said they don't have any rooms available.
- Anonymous (3/5): Horrible - People were fighting outside, and we couldn't sleep at night because of the noise.
The room reeked of tobacco, and the smell lingered on us even after we left. To make matters worse, we saw a couple of cockroaches in the room.
- Angelica (1/5): Bad -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Darren (6/5): Pleasant -
- Aubrey (6/5): Pleasant - It was walking distance to car max Door would not lock
- Robinson (7/5): Good - Ok Ok
- Saida (1/5): Bad - They do not serve breakfast, the place is horrible to stay at. Cockroaches, and bed bugs in the room and on the beds. We had no choice but to stay one night and get refunded because it was too late to look for another place at 1230 am with kids. DO NOT STAY HERE!! Very uncomfortable. Not worth the price!

- Thomas (1/5): Bad - Owner refused to let us check-in as he had given our room to a walk-in. Was incredibly rude, and blamed us for using a 3rd party and for not paying in advance.

- Karen (1/5): Terrible experience, cockroaches everywhere, terrible smell. It was very dirty. - Nothing EVERYTHING
- Lucy (1/5): Bad - The staff was completely unprofessional. We drove 5 hours down from Vegas and booked the 2 bed room 2 days in advance. We had everything confirmed with our confirmation number . When we arrived at the property on 6/24/24 the woman at the front desk told us they had no 2 beds available. Then tried to get us to take a single bed room , we where going to take the one bed room just so we didn’t have to go to another hotel but the woman at the front desk said they only take cash . She wanted 120$ cash only for a 1 bed room . WHAT HOTEL DOESN’T TAKE A CREDIT CARD?! Talk about scammers . The staff

- Fff (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jens (6/5): Pleasant - Wifi stop wooking after midnight
- Dolores (1/5): Sandman Hotel - The price The owner gave us the room key to room that was occupied at 1st. Then the TV didn't work and the room was filthy and smelled horrible. The blankets were full of stains and itchy.
- Bernice (1/5): Room door had a no smoking sign, but the room wreaked of tobacco odor! - None there Room 204....window curtains had a huge cigarette-burn hole in the curtain panel located nearest to the door
- Chantelle (10/5): Nice, clean, and very reasonably priced rooms with friendly staff. - I stayed on the first floor and felt very safe and comfortable. People in the neighbourhood were very friendly and welcoming, as were the staff at the hotel. As a huge added bonus, they did not require me to use/pay by credit card; they were more than happy to accept my cash money!
My room was nice and big with a very comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities for a very reasonable nightly rate. Washroom/shower was very clean and there was plenty of hot water. Incredibly convenient location as it is walking distance to LAX and the Kia Centre. Lots of excellent restaurants/bars and stores nearby with a wide variety of food options. Lots of places nearby that are open late or are open 24 hours which is always very convenient, especially when one is traveling. There are also lots of murals/artwork and other landmarks in the area to explore, especially along nearby La Brae Ave.
I definitely recommend this place for other travelers as a short-term or longer-term place to stay while visiting Los Angeles. If I ever have the chance to return, I will most definitely stay here again.
Much appreciated. Thank you! No complaints at all.
- Anonymous (9/5): I had a blast the location was great had a liquor store next door so was wonderful - Everyone there was really friendly have very helpful were on top of everything. Looks like the floor wasnt mopped right
- Desmond (1/5): Worst experience and they have bedbugs. - I did not like that I only could pay with cash. When I went to go lay down a bed bug was walking across the sheets. I killed it by setting it on fire because it wouldn’t die any other way, I told the staff and staff said I was lying that wasn’t the same big and that they were going to call the cops on me and was refusing to give me a refund. I told the staff that’s fine and I called the cops and they only gave me half of my money back stating I was there for a day, but I checked in 6PM & discovered the bedbug once I was going to get some rest at 10PM.

- Sudhir (1/5): Totally unprofessional.. Booking denied We reached around 10:30 pm Only to be told in the wee hour - Totally unprofessional..
Booking denied
We reached around 10:30 pm
Only to be told in the wee hour that they have cancelled our booking and given to someone else
Sorry state of affairs Total behaviour was pathetic
- Noy (1/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - Nothing!! It was an obvious scam and they were trying to make us pay more money for our reservation.
This experience makes me question if I will use Booking.com for future bookings because it is terrifying to go to my booked and confirmed accommodation in the night and have them tell us that we had no reservation at first and then later that it was cancelled even though we never got a cancellation we have the confirmation number. We had no other option for accommodation and if we didn’t argue with the check in lady for half an hour then we would not have been able to stay there.
The check in person was extremely rude and unprofessional.
- Karina (1/5): Bad - Showed up and they didn’t have our booking or were inviting in trying to see if there was a vacant room.
- Deepika (1/5): Take this hotel off booking.com - Shahin at Sandman Hotel refused to honour the reservation and wanted to charge us double to give us a room that was booked on booking com.
He claimed to do only cash bookings. So why is this shoddy hotel on booking.com?
I arrived on time and did everything right. But was left with no room. He said there would not be any charges. There better not be any. See above.
- Edgar (5/5): Passable -
- Johnny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elisabetta (1/5): Bad -
- Matanitobua (7/5): Good - Taxi to be arranged upon request to the airport. Not all guests are from the US.
- Nicholas (3/5): Seemed designed more for stays of one or two hours rather than nights - The receptionist was very nice. To call this place 2 star would be generous. I was not happy about how I was told cash only and charged an extra $10 than what was quoted when I booked. Even after I showed the receptionist the confirmation with that price the only explanation I was given was "tax". Then the door didn't line up properly with the frame making it very cold at night. Perhaps the worst was being woken up at least four times during the night by the headboard in the room next to me rhythmically banging against the wall. To be fair I thought I had booked the sandman hotel not motel, so perhaps I had higher expectations to begin with.
- Curiel (2/5): Very poor - staff the room floor was dirty and sticky from spill from previous guest still had marks on the floor …
- Joy (3/5): Did not feel safe - nothing location bad . No kettle/ microwave or hairdryer. Wi-Fi very bad. No lock on door.

- Arthur (8/5): If you need cheap place to stay with everything you need, go there and make fiends ! - This was the best quality/price ratio in Los Angeles. The location is good to go everywhere in the city. The staff was lovely including the manager and the housekeeping crew. Friendly neighborhood and Randy’s donuts a few yards away to get morning coffee. The only bad point was the cleanliness of the floor in our room. Our socks turned black after few steps in the room. Everything else was clean and the staff are very available.
