• SOHSHI (10/5): More then you could ever imagine - It was a very lovely property, just like shown in the pictures. Loved everything they offered. One thing I have to mention is the hospitality of the manager. He took care of us really well in terms of communication and even cooked for us one night. Truly one of the unforgettable stays! Highly recommended. None.

Very local feeling. There was a weird smell coming from the bathroom, and the walls were not very soundproof. There were stains on the sheets and some of the towels.

The room has everything needed we booked the balcony room. Abdullah , the manager, us very kind and friendly. He shared with us local maps recommendations. We could not used the kitchen but the common area was nice. The balcony door needs fixing.

• Bradley (10/5): Hidden gem, worth staying at - Very cosy and nice apartment. The photos were accurate, and the room was clean, both of which was a relief when we arrived. The value for money here is excellent - with a nice clean apartment that is located close to the Kumkapi tram station, and near the nice restaurants, it's great. The building itself is charming on the inside, the common area is very nice. My wife and I loved it and we would gladly stay again. Really, nothing. The street it's on is a little dirty but as soon as you go around the corner it's nice.

Если ваши соседи сверху решать потусить ночью - как говориться, если не можешь что-то остановить, придётся это возглавить) В остальном всё супер!

• Yana (4/5): - The cozy common area and the guy who checked us in were the only positives. He was extremely friendly, replied to messages quickly, and genuinely tried to help us. Overall, the rooms are dirty. During our 5-day stay, the rooms were not cleaned at all, and the towels were never changed either. The rooms are neglected: cabinet handles are broken, there is mold in the shower, springs are sticking out of the mattress, and some towels are torn or stained. The bathroom is very inconvenient — there are no shelves to place personal belongings, and there is not even a toilet paper holder; the toilet paper was simply left next to the sink. Overall, the rooms look neat and stylish in the photos, but in reality they do not match the pictures at all. I would not recommend staying here for people who value at least basic comfort

• Vera (8/5): - Hotel Manager Abdullah has been super helpful and kind before and during our stay. We got the room that we booked and it was a beautiful, cosy room with sea view, and lovely decor. The hotel is close to the train station, sea side, and it is in a nice neighbourhood.

• Santiago (9/5): El mejor lugar para quedarte en Estambul calidad-precio - El alojamiento está ubicado en una muy buena zona, cerca al transporte público, rodeada de muchos restaurantes y a pocos minutos caminando de la plaza de Sultanahmet, lo que lo convierte en un lugar ideal. Abdallah es un gran anfitrión, facilita muchas cosas ya que habla inglés y conoce muy bien la zona. Sin duda alguna volvería. Por mejorar: el wifi llegaba un poco lento a la habitación y las sabanas están un poco manchadas, por lo que sería bueno renovarlas.

Communication was top notch, Abdullah did an amazing job of guiding me how to get to the hotel, and was there for any question I might had. The room was spotless, and simply beautiful. In general does the hotel display a great love to detail. A very comfortable beautiful place in the heart of Istanbul. Will definitely visit again!

• Barzi Jafar (10/5): Sofia Konaklama Hotel offers great value for money with warm hospitality and a peaceful atmosphere. - I had a very pleasant stay at Sofia Konaklama Hotel in Istanbul. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the rooms are cozy and quiet. The staff were very kind, respectful, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The location is excellent, close to public transportation, restaurants, and many of Istanbul’s main attractions, which makes it very convenient for travelers. One important thing to note is that there is no elevator, so guests with heavy luggage or mobility issues should keep this in mind. However, the staff were helpful and assisted whenever possible

Очень приятный молодой человек работает, вежливый, всё показал. Номер чистый, красивый, хоть и не большой. Вид на море есть, но как бы ради него не стоит снимать этот номер))
• Mirza (7/5): Long Stay Review at Sofia konaklama - The vicinity to many shops, public transport, restaurants and historical sites (20mins towards agia sofia) and I had the whole kitchen access. It is best budget hotel in Kumkapi and I will definitely return one day. Construction noises were present during my stay and room service was requested rather than performed every day or second day which these could've been improved easily.

The guy at reception was friendly and always willing to help The hotel was dirty, the rugs on the floor were black, the photos on the booking site did not reflect reality. We booked the room for four nights and not once did a cleaner come in to even change the trash bag. The room didn't have a hairdryer, the toilet didn't work properly, and we found hairs on the sheets. There was a lot of noise, and one night other guests knocked on our door at 3 a.m., which was scary, especially for two girls. I don't think I would stay at this accommodation again. For the same price, you can definitely find something better.

• Filip (10/5): Excellent value for money, perfect for budget travellers! - Fantastic value for money. I don't think anything can't beat this...average for our stay (January 2026) was 25€ per night, for a double room with private bathroom. This is cheaper than some hostels we stayed in. Abdullah is an extremely friendly and helpful host, always available and at service. Room was spacious, with comfortable bed and all the basic stuff you need for a short stay - electric kettle, cups, wardrobe, mirror, night lamps, makeup table, extra chairs, A/C, good wi-fi... Location is also great for anyone not super keen on staying right next to the Blue Mosque. Very central, all main attractions (Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet/Blue Mosque and everything in between) and public transport (Yenikapi station, Beyazit, Aksaray Ring) are all within 10-15min walk from the hotel. Also plenty of breakfast options just around the corner and a selection of budget-friendly local eateries for lunch/dinner right there in the neighborhood. All in all, perfect for first timers! We didn't mind at all, but perhaps some people might find it annoying, so I guess it's worth mentioning. There is a small neighborhood mosque literally 30m from the hotel and the morning call to prayer is really loud, so expect to be waken by it every day. :)
• Edith Yee-Lok (8/5): Cute stay for good price - The interior style and decoration of room was nice and tasteful. Bed was large and comfortable, great to have desk. Close to lots of touristy restaurants so lots of options, but a 15 minute walk uphill to the tram, which adds up over a few days. Manager was generally helpful and responsive. Hotel was close to mosque so it was noisy when the call to prayer was broadcasted, especially in early morning. Also could smell smoke a few times a day even though all rooms are meant to be non-smoking. Management tried to control but could still smell. Shower has no door so water goes everywhere.
• Isaac (8/5): If you're too picky, it may not be for you - The staff is awesome. Abdullah, the manager, is a great and caring host. He was very helpful all the time, providing valuable suggestions on what to see, where to go, how to go, etc. Top tier concierge! I leave here my appreciation again, our trip wouldn't be the same if wasn't you. The cleaning lady don't speak English, but, by gesture and greetings, seemed to be also a good person. Room related, it's basic, but, overall, comfortable enough as a place to sleep. The localization shines, as it's near a train station, allowing to easily move around the city. Also, close to lot of touristic places in Sultanahmet. One thing worth mention is a mosque right next to the building, so, be ready to all pray moments as it make wake you. Though some may consider it a downside, from my point of view, the guest should be open minded to respect all traditions and get used to it while visiting Istanbul. The walls are a bit thin, you can hear whenever someone enters/leaves the building. It's even louder when someone passes near the door, you can hear as it's in the room. The shower door is only "half", missing the sliding part. It means that the bathroom floor can easily flood. The curtains can be too bright, as there are no light blockers. Not a problem for us as we went there on winter, but, depending on the season, it may be too bright early in the morning.

Sam pokoj schludny i dość czysty, natomiast łazienka bardzo malutka, ciężko sie obrócić, nie wspominając o pobycie w kilka osob, co powoduje spore niedogodności. Hotel na pewno wymaga renowacji. Niemniej jakość adekwatna do ceny. Dogodna lokalizacja.

The hotel is extremely well located, making it easy to get around the city and explore Istanbul’s main attractions. The property is clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Although the rooms could benefit from having TVs, this did not take away from the overall quality of the stay. The true highlight was the exceptional service provided by Abdallah Ahmed. He went out of his way on numerous occasions to help, always welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring. His attitude and willingness to assist made my stay especially enjoyable. A huge thank you to Abdallah—his level of service is rare, and the owner should be very proud to have such a dedicated and professional member of staff. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and have rarely encountered such outstanding hospitality. I hope to return in the future and sincerely hope Abdallah is still there.

Detail guidiance, very helpfyl Strategic location. If you do not mind abit of walking. Most attractions is reachable within walking distance - sultan Ahmed Mosque, Grand Bazzar. Ferry terminal is reachedable by bus Lots of convinient storwe restaurants around. The room space is good for 2. Just next to the Marmare sea. Beautiful sunrise view if weather is good Wall is a bit thin.

• Explorer Chris (5/5): I would not recommend it. - Great and helpful staff when you find them (but good luck with it). Location is not the best, far from everything, expect a lot of walking if you stay here. Hotel is unsafe as there are no receptionist and no lock on the hotel's entry door. Anyone can walk in anytime they want to. You can still lock your room, but that's about it. Staff is invisible, I couldn't see the receptionist once during my stay. Only when I was looking for him, had to ask the cleaner to get him (during check in and check out). Also, the room doesn't look like on the pictures, it is in a much worse condition. Shower is dirty, bed is uncomfortable, aircon is leaking.. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
• Anuar (10/5): - Отеле очень комфортно и хорошо, все четко, если вы беременный или пожилой человек чуть трудно будет подняться по лестнице на 4 этаж, а для остальных это не проблема, спасибо большое персоналу особенно Абдулла замечательный человек которому можно обратиться 24/7 и девушке забыл имя, если вы не знаете турецкого и английского то можете позвать девушку который говорит по русский, узбекский и казахский. В комнате все было чисто, местоположение тоже хорошое и до автобуса и до метро 5-10 минут пешком добраться находиться в центре рядом много кафешек и ресторанов проблемы с едой не будет проблемой и маркеты тоже имеются вблизи пару минут от дома, можете чуть вверх подняться 5 минут от кафешек который вблизи и там низкие цены на еду, если вы хотите с гранд базара или с египетского базара какие то вкусняшки купить то не спешите лучше возле отеле в лавочках посмотрите цены там намного дешевле, забыл добавить рядом есть овощные и фруктовые магазины где очень вкусно и если попросите скидку (индирим) то можете купить по скидке, апельсины и мандарины очень вкусные. Спасибо Абдулле очень помог.

• Irene (7/5): Cute historical little building in the heart of Istanbul - Good value for money, i honestly did not expect more than what i got, the room was nice, not very big but the bed was comfy. The area of the hotel is very nice, few steps from restaurants and bars, that was the best after a whole day of travelling or visiting. Receptionist was very helpful and also allowed us to leave our luggage after check out time. No hair dryer, the bathroom was extremely small (one of us was taller than the other so had some difficulties in such a tiny space). we needed to ask almost everyday for toilet paper, one of the last few days we just decided to buy it by ourselves. No soap in the liquid soap container. No free tea or coffee. The hotel is very cute and i think with few improvements it could be much better than it is. keep up the good work!

• Waudby (8/5): Historical style in a great location - I loved the style of this old building with all its wood panelling. I also loved the wonderful manager, Abdullah. He works very hard and is on site 24/7. The tiled bathrooms are very beautiful. The location is brilliant. Just a short walk or bus ride from the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, and Hagia Sophia: very close to Kumkapi train station. Walking distance from Yenikapi Ferry Terminal. Shops and restaurants are all very close by. The window curtains could be fuller. I felt that people might be able to see into the room (at the front of the building) from the street. Soundproofing is poor, so consideration for other guests is important.

• Karin (9/5): Beautiful, stylish & old apartment block. Convenient to facilities & transport - Comfortable bed & friendly, helpful staff. Close to amazing places to eat & public transport. My particular room was vey high up the stairs & felt a bit scary.
• Sarah (10/5): Absolutely excellent, amazing value. spacious and comfortable rooms in a great location close to Kumkapı - Great location next to Kumkapı metro, so handy for connections, beautiful traditional old Istanbul house, simple and humble - Sofia hotel is super friendly, staff were superb, kind and helpful. Offers unbeatable value for money if you want a great quiet comfortable space from which to enjoy the city. I had the superior room with balcony and loved it! Spacious rooms tastefully appointed in traditional style. If you want some super fancy this isn’t it - but this is a lovely cheap option which has ideal Feng Shui, is unpretentious, simple, spacious and comfortable.

• Waudby (7/5): - Very good manager. Abdullah did everything he could to make our stay pleasant. He works very hard. The cleaner is also a very pleasant lady. This is an old house with very lovely wooden panelling, floors, ceilings, and staircases. The district is predominantly narrow cobbled streets, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and close to Kumpaki metro station. The room was lovely, but the soundproofing is non existant. Remember to whisper if you don't want to disturb other guests. We were fortunate, and apart from a humming woman in the room above us, we were not sharing the hotel with any particularly noisy guests. The bathroom was very small but adequate.
