- Darcy (3/5): The photos looked good, but what lay underneath told the real story, - The bottled water and instant coffee were always plentiful in the room. 1. We had stayed there for 9 days and the room had been superficially cleaned twice but the bed sheets had never changed our entire stay. 2. There was an extreme ant problem in the suite. You couldn’t leave a coffee cup sitting over night because the next morning it would be completely covered in ants. 3. The are several very loud establishments near the hotel that were open till 5am. Their noise was so loud and would echo straight into our room. 4. The mattresses were so hard, we developed back pains.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had an issue with the water in the bathroom and the staff were very responsive with their help and the issue was resolved quickly. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious, you have all the amenities you might need for incredible value! Highly recommend.

Ужасный, невыносимый запах в номере, сшибающий с ног как только входишь. Не понимаю, почему никто об этом не пишет. Номер был на пятом этаже (возможно, в других номерах ситуация лучше). Воняет сыростью, затхлостью и плесенью так, что невозможно дышать. Да, старое здание, да, влажный климат в стране, но это же просто опасно для здоровья! Как можно селить в такое помещение людей? Нам нужно было переночевать ночь перед вылетом, иначе сбежали бы оттуда сразу же. На многое могу закрыть глаза в отелях, но это какая-то газовая камера. Не спала всю ночь из-за вони, пробовала надевать маску, включать кондиционер, открывать окно - бесполезно. Помимо этого, в целом плохо убирают - холодильник грязный, шторы, поверхности - все в пятнах, пыльное, мягкий пуфик весь в пятнах.

The room requires modernising (not the room as shown in the advertising pictures). However, the room has all amenities you need. You can hear noise from the street until the early hours of the morning.

- Kloé (1/5): Pour votre santé, n’y allait surtout pas - L’emplacement dans le centre, le service de laundry Après 3 mois de voyage à travers l’Asie, cet hôtel a été le pire que nous ayons connu. La chambre souffrait d’une humidité extrême, avec une odeur persistante de moisissure rendant l’air difficilement respirable. Malgré nos efforts, nous n’avons presque pas dormi pendant les 3 nuits, et avons développé des maux de tête, une irritation importante des voies respiratoires et des difficultés à respirer. Les murs étaient visiblement touchés par la moisissure et les champignons, la salle de bain présentait un plafond et des joints largement noircis, et les serviettes de bain dégageaient une forte odeur d’humidité et de transpiration, même après remplacement. Nous avons signalé le problème dès le premier jour. Le personnel ne semblait pas surpris et a simplement placé un encens dans la chambre, ce qui n’a évidemment pas réglé le problème de fond. Nous avons dû dormir fenêtre ouverte pour pouvoir respirer un minimum, malgré le bruit important d’un karaoké à proximité, préférant cela à l’asphyxie. Il est très surprenant de ne pas voir davantage de commentaires à ce sujet, car l’état de cette chambre pose un réel problème sanitaire. Après avoir voyagé dans des établissements bien plus modestes et moins chers, nous n’avions jamais rencontré une situation de ce type.

The staff are very accomodating and friendly, Ming has helped me when I had issues going around the area. I'm quite simple and don't complain much but the only needing improvement is the aircon's capacity to cool the room as I do prefer to have a cooler room to havr a good sleep.

La camera con carattere old fashion ma completa di ogni comfort. Purtroppo l'unica camera a nostra disposizione dava proprio sulla strada con i ristoranti e bar var,perciò fino alle 4 del mattino c'erano schiamazzi da parte di turisti piuttosto giovani e allegri. Ci siamo parzialmente salvati grazie agli auricolari.

- Katelyn (4/5): - The staff was very nice. Our room smelled like artificial roses and we later realized it was in the bedding and towels. If you have any trouble with smells it will be difficult. Our room needed some remodeling and the bathroom floor and rug were soaked when we arrived. We had booked the hotel months before and we arrived at 10pm so shouldn’t have been cleaned in a hurry. The cups had water in them already, either from cleaning or previous use we were not sure so we didn’t use. We had trouble getting hot water multiple times even after letting the water heater heat up for 15-30 mins as advised. We got a transfer from the airport and it smelled of smoke. If this bothers you, book your own. We were near the busy part of old town which could be good if you like to stay up late and enjoy the night life but for me just made it hard to sleep. Overall we considered changing hotels and just eating the cost but ended up staying and just took fast showers and didn’t spend time in the room.

- Fiona (9/5): Safe and restful city room - Great location for easy walking around Old Quarter - close enough to “Beer Street” if night life is your thing but far enough away we didn’t have any noise from nearby hostels after 10pm. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Room was comfortable (if a little dated) but a good place to rest our heads after wandering all day. AC was good. Staff were friendly, check-in was easy and they had a very good laundry service. Lift available in the building which suited us well. There wasn’t much natural light in the room during the day - but that’s only really a problem if you plan to be in during light hours. Our lamp lights weren’t working so it was big light or nothing in the evening which is a minor issue in the grand scheme of things.

Ich konnte um eine Nacht verlängern und konnte sogar im selben Zimmer bleiben. Die Angestellten sprachen eher wenig Englisch, die Kommunikation hat aber trotzdem funktioniert.

Its nearby to lakeside. I booked a single room. Its clean. Airconditioner is silent and good. Hot water also great. I burnt my hand accidentally:p Laundry and supermarket is just few Steps away. I loved the place. If you looking for a budget but great place this is a good choice. Only serious issue I had was rooms are not soundproof. You can here sound of closing doors in other rooms. If there are noisy guests it will be little difficult to sleep. Other than that its a great place.

Walking distance to shops, food, markets and very easy to get a grab from the end of the alley. the alleyway road to the hotel isn't very suitcase friendly, but it would be the same with other hotels and not Art Hotel's fault

Ming was really helpful and his English made things very easy. A special mention to the manager, Huwang I had lost my mobile phone and lent me his mobile to reschedule my international flight I spent 2 Hours on it used up his credit and did not charge me cent Thank you Huwang. The room 601 , top floor were spacious clean and a very comfortable big bed I loved the balcony it overlooked the rooftops of Hanoi. There is some fading live band music playing nearby but it doesn't last all night. There are great restaurants nearby just ask Ming I had a great meal at Ganh Ha Noi you must book otherwise you'll miss out. overall 9/10

The price for the location in the Old Quarter and accommodation was a great deal. We had a nice balcony and room had lots of space. It was noisy until at least 5-6 am, both nights we were there. If you want to party in Hanoi, it is a great place to be. If you want quiet or have a family, this may not be the place for you. Otherwise, it was great.
