Guest Reviews

- Brett (3/5): Poor - The hotel itself is nice but see below to understand the low score We arrived at the hotel and realised our room was near the venue which was hosting a wedding. I immediately went to the reception and asked if there was any chance we could move to a quieter / more distant room. We were told straight faced by the receptionist that the hotel was completely full and there were no other rooms in the hotel.
We came back from our dinner to extremely loud music which made the windows shake every time there was a bass beat. We waited for it to stop but at 12:30 phoned reception to ask them to have it switched off.Tthey assured us that it was supposed to be turned off at 12:00. It continued and I phoned again at 12:50 and then at 1:10 I got out of bed and personally went to reception where I was told someone was trying to get them to switch it off and he promised he would go personally to see to it. I explained that I was really upset and we had asked to move rooms in the afternoon to which he offered for us to move then as the hotel was not actually full and there were a number of rooms further away. I returned to the room but a further 20 mins later the music was still at the same volume. I returned to the reception and he asked if I could accompany him to the wedding to ask them to turn off the music. At 1:40am they turned it off.
The following morning I spoke to the duty manager and explaining I was really unhappy to be lied to by the receptionist, she promised to speak to the manager on the Monday. I was contacted on the Monday I again explained the story and she said she would come back to me after speaking to the general manager. Unfortunately I have heard nothing more.
The hotel is really nice and I don't like to be critical but need to warn people to check if there is a function on and ensure your room is not nearby, otherwise stay somewhere else.
My suggestion to the hotel is to be cogniscent of the impact late music has on other guests and do your best to accommodate them elsewhere or have enough security to police it.
- Paul (6/5): - Location and experience at the Boma was awesome. Staff were awesome as well. Room was good, but eveytime the airconditioner kicked in, (every 15 minutes) it was like a Boeing 747 jet engine starting up outside my room, so did not have the best nights sleep, room 537. Otherwise the stay was good.
- Moseki (10/5): - The place was very clean and staff were very much friendly 👌 Nothing
- Nelson (8/5): -
- Rinaye (9/5): Overall the place was great and staff was amazing, this was my second time and I will be visiting again soon - The afternoon walks, the place is amazing, trees everywhere it’s so green and the receptionist lady was so helpful. TV signal, tv had scratches or flickering lines and shower door needs to repaired water was coming out
- Helen (7/5): I enjoyed my stay. - Breakfast was delicious and a variety.
Accommodation was also clean. The conference room for Graduation . It was unpleasant and dull.
- Nthabise (9/5): Warm and cozy room - The room setting was good, and the treats were a lovely gesture. The water coming out of the shower spreads to the outside and on to the tiles.
- Mosuoane (4/5): Indaba Hotel stay - Quietness TV not working even after I complaint they did not come to fix it
- Shikara (10/5): - It would be nice if there are 2 Chefs making the eggs as well as another toaster section. The line was long on both these areas.
- Mbele (10/5): -
- Erin (8/5): -
- Alysha (6/5): Was okay, I probably won’t return. - Conveniently located and some decent amenities The bathroom was dirty, old soap scum on the glass from previous guests and the shower floor probably hasn’t been scrubbed in weeks. I booked two rooms, the second room shower flooded the entire bathroom floor.
- Jaana (9/5): -
- Sariksha (4/5): - The room was clean and neat The shower floor was plastic which looks very cheap, the room is very small for the price that I paid and it is a distance to walk around the venue and to get to the car. The fridge is old.
- Felicia (7/5): -
- Dineshree (10/5): -
- Shwetha (10/5): Comfortable, clean, wonderful experience. - We were initially allocated the incorrect room but the staff immediately corrected this even though they were booked out. They corrected it with no questions or excuses and I really appreciated the wonderful service! The room was so clean, everything was actually perfect and I’d 100% go back. I don’t say that often about places I’ve stayed at. No complaints at all.
- Junior (8/5): -
- Kirsty (8/5): Decent enough for one night stay - The property was great and the staff were friendly I woke up with a frog in my room! I know it’s not the hotels fault but it wasn’t ideal
- Umpha (7/5): -
- kai (7/5): -
- Thokozile (5/5): - It was clean Didn't interact with staff at all, was handed a key and given a room number and had to find the room myself while carrying a large bag
- Roresang (10/5): - Could not eat the breakfast Everything was good
- venter (8/5): Exactly what I needed for my breakaway, best standard as always. - Very comfortable smart nice food friendly close to home breakfast the best The hotel was quiet empty so the breakfast was small. It didn't have cheese platter. I loved the food otherwise and it had non alcoholic champagne (at last)
- Lorhren-Rose (1/5): Parents' stay - overall, poor experience - Unfortunately, nothing. I made a booking for my parents who were attending my graduation. I had indicated that my mother's ankle was recovering from surgery and I thought that the hotel and staff would display a level of basic consideration in this regard - but from the moment of check-in, the receptionist on duty had an unhelpful, spiteful demeanor. Firstly, she stated that the room was not loaded on the system because I had made it on bookings.com. Again, this I found profoundly perplexing and frustrating. Especially given the week leading up to the stay, I had repeatedly requested confirmation of details regarding the booking and check-in. This too (I.e. responses and comms) was terrible - borderline unresponsive. It was meant to be a short convenient supposedly highly regarded stay, but for them, it felt like one bad thing after the other - they were moved to a room further away from the eating area (again knowing that my mother had difficulty moving around). The door at the second room was jammed it was a struggle getting in. The shower door couldn't close properly. Their room was also not cleaned. There was one tiny bottle of water in the room, which also was not replaced. I would not recommend staying here. Everything about this stay was a red flag in hospitality. Given the rates charged at the hotel, it was a reasonable expectation to get some value for money, but alas, I didn't. I have to say, the hotel tainted their experience of what was intended to be a happy milestone event. The service was, at best, sub-par. Again, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
- Moeketsi (10/5): - Everything Nothing

- Stephen (10/5): Fabulous - Top notch Nothing

- Yonela (10/5): -
- Lemeulla (8/5): Pleasant stay - Pleasant stay. Staff were great. Food was exceptional. Disappointed that I paid for a romantic turndown service and didn't get it. Thankfully they happily refunded me.
Shower in our room flooded when showering.

- Godwill (10/5): -
- Kayombo (4/5): - The breakfast was great The room was underwhelming
- Phumzile (7/5): Comfortable weekend away location and for different scenery - Good and location central not all rooms to have carpet in the bedroom
- Zwy (Mzwandile) (6/5): You need to catch up with modern aesthetics. - Location The place is actually old. The rooms look like a barn from outside. Not so modern
- Chane (7/5): - The rooms are nice and location is ideal The service at the restaurants were horrible and in general all the customers complained about it… this was during the Liv golf and they should have made sure there is enough staff to service in the restaurants and their private events.
- Klaas (2/5): - Location is good and garden is nice. The room located had a terrible smell. I complained and then they moved me to a different room.
- kagiso (8/5): New regular place - Aesthetics, location, service, safety and ambience Nothing
- olaf (3/5): Time to invest some money - Time to invest...
- Zama (8/5): Great stay - Very friendly and helpful staff.
From check-in helping us with the bags (Sifiso and Steve) very friendly and helpful.
Reception staff (Reggie) very efficient and kind. Even helped me when I got injured from a fall.
House keeping, security at the gate, patrolling security and maintenance staff. All just welcoming and helpful always with a smile.
Food was amazing, BOMA buffet with entertainment, Sunday brunch with amazing bottomless mimosas, room service burgers so big and tasty. Everything was just exceptional.
Everything is just made easy, with just dialing 9. tri 1st got us into a wrong room, but changed us without a hustle into the correct room type. Which was bigger and better. Miscommunication between booking.com and the property.

- venter (7/5): Loved it as always nice atmosphere modern friendly. - Food great, coffee machine was nice. Room nice The room smelt like sewage. It was a bit off putting. Must be something wrong with draining.
- Mirat (1/5): -
- Yateen (3/5): Not a four star by any means. - The location. That is about it. Poor upkeep in the rooms. Very dated.
But mostly Bad housecleaning. Dirty coffee mugs upon arrival. And on the second night we again came home to dirty mugs, no toilet paper and one less towel, even after requesting this the previous night as well.
- Sapphire (9/5): -
- Allan (9/5): -
- Helen (3/5): -
- Nsangu (7/5): - Security at the gate. Cleaning of the rooms was rushed and done after lunch.
- Aasiyah (3/5): Horrible never again. - Location There was a coach roach a bed bug, lice in my second room this is after moving me from my first because the phone wasn’t working. Door wasn’t working, the water was off, it took forever to collect me to take me with the cart to the venue, just horrible experience
- Kabamba (8/5): - Everything
- Kabamba (8/5): - Everything
- Przemysław (9/5): - Dobre jedzenie, przestronny pokój.
- Estelle (8/5): Pleasant - Beautiful setting Location
- Allessantro (10/5): Excellent and friendly - The friendliness and warm welcome and help when ask questions were excellent.
Will definitely make use of this accommodation again. None
- Ngati (5/5): Decent but could have been better. - The scenery is beautiful and calm. The location is also good. The rooms lack proper maintenance and cleanliness. An upgrade to the rooms would elevate the hotel, especially in relation to the carpets, bed throws and the TV.
- bantho (1/5): -
- Urika (7/5): -
- Ngcobo (3/5): Very disappointed - Location The property has deteriorated from what it was 5 years ago together with the staff. No security to guide parkings as it is not fenced.
- Ntando (8/5): -
- Nicole (5/5): - Great location, friendly staff, stunning gardens. The rooms are in desperate need for thorough cleaning and maintenance. The headboard and tables were broken, the carpet is stained all over and there are cob webs in every corner. The fridge barely works and there cockroaches in and around it. And why are tips not given to staff? But absorbed by the hotel?
- Nilavani (9/5): - Breakfast was excellent. My daughter stayed in Room 424. The door did not lock properly and we were able to open it without the card.
- Maryka (7/5): -
- Thendo (8/5): -
- david (4/5): overpriced for what we received - The breakfast was so amazing. out of the world and was a nice surprise after a disappointing stay The room was absolutely horrible and outdated. The bed and bedding was extremely uncomfortable. Not hotel standards.
- Odie Sv (10/5): -
- Thokozani (7/5): - The restaurants Unavailability of cigafeetes in the vending machines
- Camagwini (5/5): Not Bad 😄 - I love the nature setup, Boma Restaurant, the swimming pool (if only it could be heated) The marketing misled me , in the pictures versus reality of the outdoor area and rooms , I wish I had an option to choose groundfloor,
- Ethan (10/5): very nice! - spacies the milk
- Nombulelo (8/5): Enjoyed every moment and the food - Room size and gardens. Service. Cleanliness.
- Eloise (7/5): -
- Christian (7/5): -
- Angelina (8/5): -
- Sharuq (8/5): Excellent place - Excellent reception and manager
- Tinus (10/5): - Excellent stay over.Griendly staff and very good facilities.
- Katleho (3/5): The property is neglected. Has potential but I would not recommend - I liked the spa and the gin school. The rooms are old and outdated. The carpets smell bad and the staff were not helpful at all!
- Vanessa (5/5): Fair - The air conditioner in my room did not work and I was put on 2nd floor - 968 when I asked for a room like 908 (first floor).
- Maharaj (9/5): - Friendly staff and very accommodating Selection of food not enough options if you don't want to leave the property
- ASLAM (8/5): -
- Moodley (3/5): - The venue was The shower that leaked all over the bathroom. The noisy air-conditioning. The TV that did not work. The dated decor. Not what you would expect from a hotel of this stature.
- Swanepoel (7/5): Comfortable stay near my conference - The Hotel is very close to all mayor conference venues I did not like the mayhem with checking in because of multiple functions being hosted and cars parking everywhere Security was not regulating traffic on the site which caused a lot of problems
- Surendra (2/5): -
- David (2/5): Sleepless - Parties every night and drunk people screaming all night It’s was the terrible loud music and drunks screaming all night
- Michael (4/5): - Room was well equipped The mattress was terrible. Could not sleep and gave extreme backache.
Was in restaurant and sat at table. I could not find a waiter to assist. Eventually after getting up and looking for one I found a waiter passing by and asked to be assisted. He flat ignored me and eventually I got up from table and left.
