- Juliana (8/5): - Place is clean, The staff don't know anything they are not helpful, don't know about the around hanoi
- Dmytro (7/5): - View Parking
- sandrine (9/5): Super!
Superbe piscine , golf a cote ….
- ngan (6/5): Okay ish for a weekend stay - Location Noises from the rooms next door until late hour, one side is like drilling at construction site, other is like throwing a disco bar. Unclean blanket, let alone I had to pick it up from the closet myself. Toilet got smell and leaky water on floor all the time
Kettle got rust inside

- Anne (10/5): We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Hanoi. - On the water; stunning views over the water; spacious … walking through the hotel as well as the rooms; in a quiet area; good food outlets within walking access. It was a relief to get back to it after the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarter as well as other parts of the city centre.

- Anne (10/5): Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Hanoi. - It was quiet, in a beautiful location, staff were very pleasant and the room was excellent.
- Anne (10/5): lMy husband had a tooth pulled. The restaurant staff cooked congee especially for him for dinner, as he couldn’t eat sol - Location, clean, comfortable. All good!
- Leanne (1/5): Check location before you book - The staff The location is not in the old quarter, the pool was green and definitely not usable, the bathroom had black mould on the ceiling.

- Ron (7/5): I would’ve liked to know in advance the hours of operation of the restaurant lounge area. There were unavailable when I - Location was good The swimming pool was closed. I think the golf you should offer free driving range golf balls if you’re staying in the hotel, not at an extra charge it would’ve been nice to know the restaurant in the swimming pool we’re gonna be closed down.

- Lorna (7/5): - We chose this hotel because it is the nearest & affordable hotel to stay in 1 night for the venue of our Christmas Party - The Hanoi Club Hotel & Residences. The room is good & comfortable. The bathroom has bathtub so it is good anyway. The tissue paper on the toilet is used & there's no enough tissue paper in the room too. The hotel staff didn't put a new toilet tissue paper for their new guest on that day. We asked many times at the receptionist & she said already put new tissue paper in our rooms. but nothing arrive. Also the fridge inside the room is not working (unplugged) & there's no free food, i mean not a lot.. just two small bottle of water, 2 sachet of tea, 2 sachet black coffee. No any snacks. So you better bring food or snacks for your stay. You will get hungry.

- Kane (10/5): - This place is rough around the edges, but EXCELLENT VALUE. We loved that it was not in the touristy old quarter, but in a quieter yet atmospheric area, with a LOT of boutique restaurants and hidden gems in its well-treed charming streets. To know the hotel's story: it was a gift from Cuba 50 years ago after retaining independence from the USA, helps you understand the rustic state of some of its areas. The pool was a great size and very clean, the breakfasts were fantastic. The fact it's positioned within touching distance of two five-star hotels is again proof of what a great position it is in. GREAT VIEWS from our room overlooking the water to the city skyline. Some aging furniture in the rooms and bathroom utilities, but hey, for that price and given the hotel's age, I get it. They just need a solid maintenance day to give it a lick of paint and smooth some cracks. But again, the price point and character, we weren't complaining.
- cassidy (10/5): -
- Lily Hue (10/5): - The hotel was a gift from Cuban government offer to Vietnamese that located on the West lake .The view in room look out the lake and landscape around are so beautiful!
- Michael (7/5): - Great value for money, just needed some tlc A bit of a walk or a taxi ride to the old quarter attractions
- Lily Hue (10/5): - beautiful hotel
- Lily Hue (10/5): - beautiful hotel !
- Vanessa (1/5): -
- Debbie (4/5): - The views were nice. The hotel was sad and very run down no life or vibe
- Phước (8/5): cảm ơn - Địa điểm đẹp, bên hồ tây rất tuyệt vời
- Matthieu (8/5): - Swimming pool, large rooms No elevator
- Lyndsey (4/5): Disappointing - My family liked the golf, was valued for money. Breakfast could have had more selections like cereals and croissants/pastries.
- Saul (4/5): - The property online looks 10/10 but in person is really outdated. The staff at the front desk are not friendly and informative. I got zero information when I checked in. They also never answered WhatsApp for the questions nor concerns I had.
- Kevin (2/5): - This place is a dump. My room had cobwebs in every corner, floors dirty, the phone in the room did not work, the shower had no pressure, the tub had rust in the corners the shower curtain was molded. The lake was disgusting, full of trash and dead rotting fish that stunk to high heaven. The buffet was a joke. People in the hallways screaming at all hours of the night beginning at 6am.. no security to enforce any rules or order.DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.
- Satu (8/5): The hotel was probably amazing in the 70s. - Nice view (lake and the lights of Hanoi). Room and breakfast ok. Peaceful location but not too far to take a Grab to town. No proper lighting in the room (at least we couldn't find the switches). The lift didn't work. Very worn out. The pool area needs a face-lift badly and basically the entire hotel is rotten. Could be very nice. The location was completely different from booking.com.
- Katherine (4/5): - Room was very dusty and the bed made us itchy
The pool was dirty and unusable, full of leaves and looked like it hadn’t been maintained in a while and had no chairs to discourage you from using it.
There was no working lift we had to carry our suitcases up 3 flights of stairs.
The toilet did not flush and we were given 2 single beds rather than a double that was advertised.
- Nwe (5/5): Passable - A bit far from downtown. Dog shit, people are peeing around hotel which is not good for us and our son. The entrance of the hotel smells bad.
- Thao (2/5): Very poor -
- James (4/5): Disappointing - Pool closed, golf course closed and terrible breakfast. Not what was advertised.
- Natasha (7/5): Basic but comfortable stay - Rooms were good size, location good with nice scenery. Definitely a good option for travellers on a budget. You can see the hotel would have been grand in its day but is feeling its age. Nevertheless we were comfortable staying here and as we were doing a lot of sight seeing we used it just for sleeping. Was disappointing that the pool was not in service as we had chosen the hotel because of the pool on addition to its location. Breakfast was not buffet as shown in photos however staff did a good job in providing adequate breakfast options.
- Phumzile (7/5): Good -
- Phumzile (8/5): Very good -
- Miguel (9/5): Superb - Loved to stay in a small quiet island and avoid the traffic noise from Hanoi. Viewing the Skyline at the other side of the lake from my room was magic
- Christopher (7/5): Good -
- Bradley (1/5): Avoid - Staff were friendly The room had dead insects in it. The beds are very hard and you can feel the springs. Generally felt like an unsafe place to be. The bathroom was horrible. Nothing in the room worked, we couldn’t turn off the A/C.
- Devansh (4/5): Could be better - Service was very good, location was good The hotel smelled very very bad, unpleasant experience
- Hideaki (1/5): Worst. - Queit place. Swimming pool is closed.
- Dat (10/5): - Quite a nice location (on the shore of a great lake). Very customer oriented staff. old but well kept hotel
- Robert (6/5): Rooms need cleaned better especially under the bed - For the price of the place compared to other more established hotels in the area, we weren't expecting the same luxories we had experienced at other hotels around the country, but this place was a bit of a let down. The room was filthy, the wooden floor under the bed didn't look like it has been cleaned in years, there was empty bottles, other trash and about an inch thick of dust. The rest of the room only must have had a very basic surface clean as there was dust all over the TV and other surfaces.
- Camdyn (1/5): Disappointing stay do not recommend - Nice view of the lake and city. We firstly were given two singles when I requested a double bed, when I asked they simply told us they had no double beds left and didn’t accommodate for us.
The pool is closed, when I asked they pointed out the sign on the website where it says it is closed for winter however it still had it advertised as having a pool when I booked. I was disappointed with this as I booked this property based off the pool.
The elevator was out of order and we had to walk 3 flights of stairs to get to our room every time.
The grounds of the place was tired and outdated there was damaged carpet and the grass and trees were overgrown giving it an abandoned feel.
The tennis court was certainly unusable, as it was run down and extreme rusted another activity I would’ve loved to do however the hotel didn’t maintain it.
They also advertised the rooms as having outdoor furniture however there was none so we weren’t able to sit out on the balcony to enjoy the view.
There was also mould in our room near our AC and the fan in the bathroom.
Overall I do not recommend staying here as it isn’t as prestige and pristine as it once was. And you can stay elsewhere for much cheaper and get a better deal.
- Daniel (8/5): - It was an OK stay.
- Martin (7/5): Good - Lovely quiet location. Walkable into town but please than 2 pound in a grab. Rooms actually above the water on the lake. The pool is closed but they didn't tell anyone, it's the reason I actually booked this hotel so we left after 1 night
- Dexter (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the location and the retro design and layout of the hotel. The technology in the rooms
is a little bit outdated but it's no big deal.
- Jayden (10/5): Had a lovely stay here, nice lake view, facilities were good and managed to catch a beautiful sunset looking out from th - Very nice location
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffrey (6/5): Pleasant - Very friendly staff. The hotel did not meet up with our expectations but the staff was very friendly and always helping with everything you need. We were there when a typhoon hit Hanoi. A hotel that offers room for this price should at least have food stocked for a day. We were not able to leave the hotelroom but apparently the hotel had delivery problems for food so they just almost didn't have any. Just some noodles wo were just NOT good. It is absolutely not worth the price. The rooms were okay but the bathroom could be a bit more clean. It would have been okay if the price was lower. Overall we do not recommend but that is absolutely not due to the staff!
- Patrick (8/5): feel very relaxed after my stay - quiet
lake view
big pool staff should speek english
kitchen menu not what im expect for a nice lake view restaurant
- Tom (8/5): - It's an old hotel and badly in need of some renovation. The best part is the lake view. It's right on the lake and I loved the balcony. The pool is also a great perk.
The rooms, however, felt old and worn out. The bed wasn't comfortable. Also, there is no guest elevator, and while the hotel is only three floors, it does make it difficult if you are carrying a lot of luggage.
- Emily (9/5): Superb - Amazing hotel. Great room with balcony over the water. A bit run down that's why it was cheaper. Still great value for money. Very clean. Large pool. Great views
- Quoc (8/5): Very good - Nice location and view, quiet place, but many things are broken and require to fix.
- Ben (7/5): Great staff, spoke English well. - The size of the pool. The affordability of the meals. Great view of the city and lake. The toilet didn’t flush lots. Bath tub shower. The pool was not filtered clean, we got an eye injury jumping in with the stuff on top of the water.
- Thuy (8/5): Very good - Outside view does not look nice
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marco (10/5): Very good place to stay. - Nice place. Good pool. Driving range directly at the lake. Clean and all you need. Had View on the whole skyline of Hanoi. very nice
- Abhishek (8/5): Very good -
- Antonia (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel was placed a little bit out of the centre, where you can escape from the Chaos and the loud environment of Hanoi. The Hotel is placed at a Lake, on which we had an incredible view out of the room. The staff was super friendly and helped us in every situation.
- Carey (8/5): Very good - The room that had a beautiful view of the lake Breakfast was terrible no selection to chose but buffet was ok
- Ahmed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trang (6/5): Pleasant -
- James (7/5): Great Pool - Really enjoyed the swimming pool. The breakfast was just OK.
- Van (6/5): Pleasant - Very nice location. Space is large, room is comfy A bit run down. Need rennovation. The (only) female receptionist there was not so friendly
- Linh (9/5): Lovely days at Thang Loi Hotel - This is an older hotel, really charming and the pool area was nice. The hotel also have 2 ATMs, one thats outside the reception and the other one a few meters away. The hotel is close to city center and other resturants. I would definitely come back here another time! The personel was also really sweet and helpful. If you looking for something rustic and a charming hotel this is the one.
- Windy (9/5): Good!! - Good Nothing
- Hoabinh (8/5): I heard it was built up over 30 years ago. Came back after 20 years, nothing changes, a vintage standard hotel but locat - My room is on the lake, perfect location!
- Gary (5/5): Passable - Staff were friendly Pool wasn't open, place was very tired
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Werkoz (9/5): Great value with fantastic lake views! - Back in the 90's apparently it was the top hotel in Hanoi and they have not really made any changes to it at all since. It's like stepping back in time to the 'communist era' but we really loved the retro feel. And we had the most amazing lake view and skyline from our rooms balcony. Otherwise the location and pool area is great if you want to escape the noise and crowds of the old quarter. There were plenty of deck chairs and they were selling drinks at the pool bar. You get it all, including a varied buffet breakfast, at a fraction of the big chain hotels next door. And you can still get a GRAB (equivalent of UBER) for less then $2 to the old quarter and you are there in 10 minutes.
May not be for everyone but dwfinitely great value for money! Room could be cleaned a bit better
- Philip (7/5): Good - Good room clean very good view The breakfasts was disgusting not what I payed for
- Jordan (3/5): Beautiful location. Horrendous bed. I would not return. - The hotel itself was nice upon walking in. Lovely reception area, a cute little garden area and a decent pool area. Amazing location next to the lake. The views from the balcony were pretty nice too. This was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. It was so bad I had to move the cushions from the chairs and sleep on the floor for my second night. For real. The springs were felt just by putting your hand on the mattress.
The room itself was massively outdated with ugly carpets and poorly finished features. The safe was locked and out of use. There was a real lack of love throughout the whole room. I spoke to a local who said this was the place to be 7 years ago.
At breakfast I attempted to speak to the receptionist who made my experience very stressful. She couldn’t understand almost any English and gave me instructions that made no sense.
Finally at breakfast I ordered a Banh Mi with sausages and eggs but what I got was 2 overcooked eggs on toast. I avoided breakfast the second morning. Really unimpressed.
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional -
