Guest Reviews
- Marta (7/5): - Location and the room were perfect The breakfast was very poor, it needs to be improved
- Mario (5/5): - El desayuno regular
- Mariana (10/5): - Very nice staff and everything was perfect!
- veroc92 (8/5): Au centre mais au calme - Dans le centre mais dans une rue calme. La salle de bain. Dans une pièce lavabo et wc. Dans une autre la douche sans meuble. Pas pratique. Petit déjeuner moyen.
- Steven (4/5): -
- Steffen (3/5): There are plenty of much better, similarly priced alernatives nearby - skip this one if you can. - The locations is great, and the first impression of the reception area was good. The room was worn out and not very clean at all. Toilet did not flush and the bathroom overall definitely had seen better days. The walls were also paper-thin which made sleep almost impossible (even with earplugs) when a neighboring room arrived late. Just hearing them opening and closing the bathroom door cut through my plugs like a rusty old saw. On top of that, having no windows and fairly well hidden emergency staircase (behind a painted door flush with the wall) this just feels like a disaster waiting to happen. How this have such a good reviews is beyond all of us, especially as there is plenty of other much better alternatives nearby at a very similar price.

- sana (4/5): Do not book - The location and staff. The bathroom had a leak, poorly cleaned.
- Charlotte (10/5): -
- Ninad W (7/5): - The window was there, but not a great view.
- Aurore (8/5): -
- Villani (10/5): Very good stay - Location and staff Nothing
- Chinliang (4/5): - 地理位置可以 一張大床房用兩張單人床拼湊,都不能睡中間,會有一個分割線,很硬很不舒服
- Alessia (8/5): - Posizione eccellente, abbiamo girato la città a piedi.
Le foto della struttura rispecchiano la realtà.
Staff pronto a soddisfare le nostre richieste.
A colazione si trova solo cibo locale.
- Trang (10/5): Excellent - The room was quite beautiful and exactly as shown in the photos. It was much more spacious than most hotels in the Old Quarter. The lobby had also been newly renovated, making the space feel airy and modern.
The staff were extremely friendly and provided me with a lot of helpful information. The hotel is very close to the Train Street cafés (only about a one-minute walk) and also within walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake. Although it is located in the Old Quarter, the area is surprisingly quiet and very convenient for reaching tourist attractions.
One lovely highlight was that the hotel prepared a list of “must-try” local food and sightseeing spots based on authentic local preferences. I truly appreciated this thoughtful and meticulous touch.
The next morning, I had an early trip to Ninh Binh. Even though it was earlier than the scheduled breakfast time, the hotel kindly arranged breakfast 15 minutes in advance so I could leave on time.
The breakfast buffet here doesn’t have too many items, but it seems to change daily—I noticed their daily menu board. A big plus is that the food was very fresh and of good quality. This left a very strong impression on me.
If I return to Hanoi, I will definitely choose this hotel again. Nothing

- Jamal (2/5): Was verschrikkelijk. Jammer
- Jennifer Christin (8/5): - Breakfast was very tiny
- Monika (8/5): Great location and lovely staff. - Great location. The hotel location is great - right in the middle of the Old Quarter, just behind a very busy road, but you can't hear the noise that much. The street in the morning allows you to immerse yourself in an ordinary Hanoian day straightaway. We loved it.
Also the reception staff was very helpful - thank you so much!
Breakfast was a bit basic, but still very good. We appreciated the chef's accommodation of our requests. The room maintenance would benefit from a bit more attention. Other than that, it's a good value for money.
- Francisco Jose (10/5): -
- Ms M (6/5): Good location but rubbish WiFi - Spacious rooms, clean & welcoming staff. Good location, so close to train street that even if you don’t intend to go there, chances are you’ll find yourself there. The WiFi wasn’t working at all so I had to leave the hotel a day earlier.
- David (8/5): -
- ben (10/5): Great Stay! - The facilities were great, and the staff was super accommodating! It was everything I needed, The room and bathroom room is really clean and comfortable. We asked for a room that is far from the noisy busy street and was given a really quiet room located at the back, Breakfast was very good No thing

- Marie (10/5): Nice Place - We had a wonderful stay at Calido Hotel. The staff was friendly, and the room was spacious with all the necessary amenities. The hotel is located near the train street and there are many restaurants around. Room no windown
- Bommensath (10/5): Good Hotel - Breakfast Room no windown
- JYAR MOHAMMED (10/5): Excellent Hotel – Will Come Back - I had a wonderful 2-night stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and spacious, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Very satisfied Room no windown for Family room
- Mahalakshmi (4/5): - Staffs were good Toilet was stinking, flush wasn’t working! It was not a great stay as we need to keep flushing out 5-6 times! We took 3 rooms and had issue with 2 rooms
- Jervin (10/5): Great value and comfort! - The room is huge, the staff were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast. No other options.
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Willem (10/5): So friendly stay at a place in the heart of Ha Noi. - Staff is extremely friend and supports clients in questions they have. Staff comes with great suggestions for things to do in Ha Noi. We very much liked the (free) student guide of the city. A great way to learn more about living in Ha Noi. Staff helper with booking an excellent massage center and busctransfer.
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susette (8/5): -
- Umar (3/5): Poor -
- Hayal (9/5): As it was close to all important attraction we were able to visit the train street, the hop on hop off bus, stroll aroun - The rooms are comfortable, but some rooms has not window, even the rooms with window are closed with a wall sticker so it’s not possible to see outside or open. The staff was helpfull. Breakfast included crambled eggs, kind of crepes with fruits. It’s only a few steps to the train street and walking distance to all other attractions.
- Leon (9/5): Superb -
- Karolina (8/5): Very good - Very nice hotel, good location, good breakfast, recommended
- Magdalena (10/5): Nice stay in a great location - The location is perfect, close to main touristic sites. A big plus for nicely decorated rooms. The breakfast is served to table and tasty. The staff was helpful and attentive. Highly recommended! The room was kind of dark and could definitely use better cleaning.
- David (7/5): Good - Long narrow balcony. Bit of a squeeze. Basic breakfast. Power cut so banana sandwich for breakfast on second day. Great location. Just a two minute walk to the end/start of train street. Slim balcony. Basic breakfast. Cold coffee.
- Soumya (1/5): Very very bad. Please don't go here. - Absolutely nothing. There was no electricity supply for hours! We couldn't sleep in peace, we couldn't charge our phones, we couldn't take showers. Nothing had backup.
- Catherine (10/5): A gem of a hotel with lovely staff and away from the bustle, but a few metres away from the action! - I was really delighted to have chosen the Calido Hotel, down a side street in the old town, away from the hoards of mopeds. It was quiet, comfortable with stylish decor. I was surprised to hear they are renovating later in the year!! Justin and Ly were incredibly friendly and helpful and the WhatsApp contact prior to arrival was very welcome! Thank you so much for making my stay so airbus, with the restaurant recommendations and letting me into my room early after a long flight. They are a credit to the hotel. I'm only sad I only had one night there, but I will definitely be back and recommend wholeheartedly!! I can't comment on the breakfast as I didn't have any, but from what I noticed, it all looked freshly cooked. A gem of a place ❤️ I can't fault anything. Wonderful experience!
- Hema (5/5): Passable - The room They said that the breakfast was finished and continue to serve other people the same food I ordered even though I was told it was finished.
- Kyloie (8/5): Very good -
- Dale (8/5): Very good -
- Daniela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joel (9/5): Superb - Property good value for money.
can’t complain for the price
- Padua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chiara (7/5): Good and clean rooms - The room was nice, however the breakfast choice was very limited.
- Ted (10/5): Exceptional - Walking distance to central, quite at night, beds comfortable, staff friendly and accommodating:)
- Seema (9/5): Superb -
- Wong (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kirill (3/5): bad experience - location is really nice Be careful when booking - some rooms have no windows, they are very stuffy, the air conditioning does not work, or is too loud. There is no soundproofing - I heard snoring in the next room, not to mention screams in the corridor. On the second day of stay, repairs began in the next room, and they drilled, for example, from 7:58 in the morning, while the staff simply apologized, but the drilling continued
- Meshi (7/5): Good -
- Herman (9/5): Nice hotel, clean; friendly staff. - Nice hotel, friendly staff. Great location. Breakfast a bit limited. Shower could ve been a bit warmer..
- Jason (3/5): Poor - Beautiful balcony, great location Very dirty, room was full of ants. Faucets leaked, toilet wouldn’t flush initially. Shower was poorly sealed, so water always entered into the living space. TV didn’t work. When requesting additional toiletries, staff was not very responsive.
- Katja (8/5): Super friendly staff, perfectly located in the old quarter - The Staff from the reception was incredible! They helped us book all our Tours, fulfilled all our Wishes and were extremely friendly, welcoming and lovely to us.
The interior of the room was also nice so we felt comfortable, even though we first had our doubts regarding the missing windows in our room category.
The hotel is in the middle of old quarter and very close to the famous train street, so it's perfect for discovering the city and walking through the streets of Hanoi Breakfast could be a little more varied. But all in all we enjoyed our stay at Calido.
- Wong (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rareș (5/5): Passable - The staff was very kind and helpful. The hot water for the shower was not supplied continuously.
The breakfast was poor, containing eggs and sausages, but also a Vietnamese dish of their choice for that morning (like a soup or a fried rice)
- Anas (9/5): Superb -
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (2/5): Very poor - Great location We arrived approximately one hour early and requested an early check-in (50 minutes). Although the room was ready, we were told there would be a charge of £3 per hour for early check-in. This fee felt unreasonable, especially for such a short time frame. The reception staff seemed unwilling to assist and came across as rude and distant—one receptionist was even playing a loud phone game during check-in—making us feel as though we were inconveniencing them.
The bathroom was filthy, and the breakfast was very basic. It felt like the hotel was focused on squeezing every penny from its customers. Additionally, a 4% card payment transaction fee—significantly higher than the 2-3% average we encountered elsewhere in Vietnam—further added to our disappointment. Overall, the experience was deeply unsatisfactory and failed to meet even basic expectations.
- Glasspool (8/5): Very good -
- Libby (7/5): Good -
- Olivia (9/5): Fabulous! - The room was amazing! The staff were great, and the position was brilliant. The breakfast was very basic, serving eggs, sausage and instant noodles only.
- Lenvy (8/5): Was great. Will surely recommend to my friends. Thannkyou Calido! - I notified them that we were coming during dawn and they actually noted that.
It was clean. Room was spacious enough. Staff was also helpful and really tried their best to communicate with us in english. Breakfast was good. The place was also quiet during the night. We also availed their laundry services and they delivered. In short, it was a good value for money. They don’t have rice 😅 and also the staff in their kitchen don’t wear hairnets, and don’t seem to wash their hands often. Everything was just minor anyway.
- Lilian (5/5): Passable - Location is great The shower literally overflows into your room after having it on for 0.2 seconds and the breakfast is horrible
- Adorno (10/5): I'd stay at Calido again and again. - The Calido Hotel met all of my expectations. We were going to celebrate a birthday and they quickly managed to put together a beautiful set up in our room with a card, decorations, and more. The staff is very helpful and the kitchen staff accommodated us by setting us up with to go food for a tour. The balcony was large, the room itself was huge and the bed was comfortable. The shower and toilet were separate which was great for getting ready simultaneously. The hotel is walking distance from just about anything in the area and close to sites and delicious foods. There is nothing for me to say here since my stay was great. I would stay again.
- Megan (3/5): Good location, poor stay, lack of breakfast items, shower was broken, smelt very strong of garlic, poor and dirty bed sh - The staff were lovely, aircon was good once it started Shower was broken, was squirting water on the ceiling, breakfast was poor and lack of options, bed sheets were dirty
- Ioanna (10/5): Mini boutique hotel in the heart od old Hanoi - Big clean room with comfy bed and a balcony. The hotel is in a quiet area in old Hanoi next to restauranrs and cafes. The staff is very kind and helpfull. I surely recommended Everything was fine
- Lynda (7/5): Good -
- Lynda (7/5): Great location and comfortable rooms with lovely staff. - Location is great. Once we upgraded to a room with a window it was a more comfortable stay. Staff were lovely and very helpful. For our first two nights the room was noisy and the TV didn’t work at all. Breakfast was ok but not great. Plenty of great eating places very close.
- Javier (10/5): Great spot, quiet at night, nice views from balcony and good breakfast - Very nice and clean great staff, no this was a problem Nothing, it was great
- Nur (9/5): Superb -
- Florence (10/5): Value for money - Staff are very accommodating and very responsive to guest request
- Sandy (7/5): OK - The location of this hotel was walking distance to many of the things on our itinerary. The staff was helpful in helping us book our Ha Long Bay Cruise. Everyone was very nice. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good. Lots of local and western options which change everyday. We very much enjoyed the Vietnamese options. The size of the room was good. Two complimentary bottles of water everyday. We also did paid laundry through them which was not too bad. The bathrooms smell like sewage which made the room smell like sewage. There was a note/poster in the bathroom that explained their efforts in making it a more comfortable smell, but due to the old sewage system, it is difficult to completely remove it. While I completely understand this, I have a sensitive nose and this really ruined it for me. We also found hair around the room when we first stepped in, and when we told the front desk, all they said was they'd tell the cleaner to do a better job. It didn't really improve. After a long day of sightseeing, you'd want to just be comfortable in your hotel, but I still felt dirty... You definitely get what you paid for and we weren't in a position to just leave and get a new hotel. I wouldn't discourage others from booking perse but I don't think we'd come back to this hotel.
- Joanne (8/5): Great - Location and staff were very good and helpful. We had rooms that didn't have windows but this was my fault for not reading the detail.
- Rose (7/5): Good - Nice rooms Breakfast few options
- Caoimhe (8/5): Very good -
- Dallies (5/5): You get what you pay. If you don’t mind the poor cleanliness, it’s generally ok to stay. - Central location, very convenient to travel around. Staff were very friendly. Cleanliness needs to improve. There was a huge cockroach in our room, the staff weren’t there in time to kill it and we had to do it ourselves. The walls are actually very thin, we can hear people traveling in and out all the time.
- Raquel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mehedee (9/5): Superb -
- Leon (7/5): Not bad for the price - Location Breakfast not so much option
- Sevgi (4/5): A not that comfertable stay in a good location. - Location was good, room was spacious. When we arrived there was no warm water coming from the shower, this issue got fixed later with some. However the people working there didnt seem to think this should be an issue since they kept repeating this happens because its summer. Double bed was just to single beda put together with an uncomfortable hard part in the middle. There was only 1 key for 2 people. Airconditioner was weak/old for a room of this size, they had an extra fan to compensate for this. Fridge just kept everything at room temperature, did not cool at all. A lot of things seemed old/not really that clean, but worst of all was the huge cockroach we found in our room the second night, they took care of it but we weren’t really comfortable after that. Also the bathroom is really dark, really bad for putting on make-up.
- Isabella (7/5): Very central property - The property was very central and the staff were very helpful. We were downgraded to a smaller room (originally had 2 beds but then downgraded to 1 bed) due to the room we booked was unavailable (needed maintenance) and was only refunded slightly. Having the shower and toilet seperate was handy, but the shower room was so small and unable to have clothes or anything hanging in the shower without it getting wet.
- Chai (6/5): Good value for money for the price we paid. Staff, Danny. Was excellent in service and very helpful. - Clean room, strategic location, amazing wonderful staffs Smell, separation of toilet and shower. Windowless.
- Harry (8/5): Very good -
- Hadrien (8/5): Very good - Great familial properties in the heart of old Hanoi, set in a small, calm street a stone throw away from all major attractions. Quiet and comfy, with a nice local breakfast. Although the staff was always nice and polite, the property took time to fix small issues with the safe and some faulty bulbs.
- Estin (4/5): Disappointing - Good location. Staff was friendly. The room felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while, especially the bathroom was full of mold. Also not a pleasant smell in the room.
Breakfast was very poor and not fresh.
We especially booked a room with a window. When we arrived we were ‘upgraded’ to a bigger room, but without a window. As we checked-in late in the evening, the room that we booked was not available anymore.
- Sonja (6/5): Good location but would not stay again - Great location in old quarter. Minutes from train street and lots of cafes around. The breakfast was terrible. Horrible smell on lobby and breakfast area.
- Toni (8/5): Good hotel, great location. Bad breakfast - Staff was nice, bed was comfortable Breakfast was extremely limited. WiFi was not stable for working
- Cloney (8/5): Very good - Quick stay, easy check in, had our details for our trip the next day, small compact room but had everything needed. Quite a difficult location down a small street. Beautiful though.
- Melanie (8/5): Very good -
