Guest Reviews
- Illeen (2/5): - Couldn’t get into the building. It was a terrible neighborhood. Attempted to contact management, they only spoke French. There is no management on the property. **Do Not Stay Here*+
- Rosalee (2/5): Just stay elsewhere - My friend and I weren’t able to access our room; there isn’t anyone on-site, and doors are operated by code. We got in the front with no problem, but our room door code didn’t work. We called and were told to try a physical key from an unlocked lock box, and we did try, but after many attempts we couldn’t do it. On the phone they just kept saying “turn the key harder.” Finally they said they would send someone to try the door, but by then we weren’t comfortable because we couldn’t trust we would be able to ever enter, and we didn’t feel safe with the idea of struggling with this at night. We were on vacation and there was nowhere to securely leave our bags, so we left. A man arrived 50 minutes later, and they offered no refund since he was able to get the door open. Maybe the room itself was fine, but I would recommend staying somewhere else with staff on site who can be helpful — or with doors that work.
- Ilsa-Geneviève (2/5): - I would not book or recommend this room to anyone. The air quality was terrible and moldy, which is a serious health hazard. The bathroom has no ventilation or window, and the door has a large gap (serving as the handle). This traps moisture in the bedroom and likely causes the moldy air.
The bathroom door is also completely see-through, offering no privacy for showering or using the toilet.
The photos on Expedia are misleading: the room looks fresh and modern online, but in reality, it’s old and dirty. The walls and floor were very dirty as well. We stayed in two different places in Paris, and this was by far the worst (I couldn’t wait to leave). The worst part is that we paid more for this stay, expecting good quality.
The only positive was the electrical setup: from the bed, you could control the lights, and each side had outlets for USB, USB-C, and standard plugs. But that small convenience isn’t worth risking your health.
Other issues: no A/C (just a fan), and a large air purifier was left turned off. Even when we tried using it, it barely improved the air quality.
Petit -déjeuner non servi malgré appellation Bed and breakfast.
Points positifs, localisation, grand lit et déco
- Nicolas Alberto (6/5): Estubo bastante bien...
- Hanneke (8/5): - The room is great, but when the outside temperature is high, sleeping with the windows open is noisy, and the airco is noisy too.
- Francois (8/5): - Hotel bien situe, pratique avec son check-in et check-out automatiques
- marie (10/5): - The location was very convenient to Notre Dame and the Louvre. It was clean and the breakfast was good. The lady who managed the location was friendly and very responsive (but note to travelers that she speaks only French). One star deducted on the property only because the staircase was not well lit and it was not immediately apparent where the light switches were.
- Darren (8/5): - This accommodation was a little gem and the staff were so helpful and friendly. It is worth remembering for next time.
- Simone (8/5): Un ottimo soggiorno.
- Jane (8/5): - Great situation though some street noise at night when window open. There was an error with breakfast one morning that didn't happen but more importantly the call to find out about it was unanswered until some hours later. That isn't great for unmanned premises when there may have been a more difficult issue. I would however recommend and would happily stay there again.
- Trudy (8/5): - The property is very nice. The owner tries to make you very comfortable. No fault of the owner's, the noise outside, due to the bars, are very loud. It didn't quiet down until 2:30 am and then there was a hugh fight.
- Mary (10/5): - Very nice comfortable bed good coffee friendly clean great location
- Tony (10/5): - Location was great! Close to the metro and plenty of dining options
- Landais (10/5): Séjour agréable - Bel établissement . Salle de bain joliment décorée . Cuisine accessible pour consommer sur place . Je recommande
- lila (2/5): - As soon as we arrived the room was 90 degrees and ac not working. Only a fan mode and noise was terrible. Called manager no response and nobody fix the problem or changed the room. Left the hotel. Very bad .
- Verified traveler (4/5): Paris experience at Tinah Aboukire - This is not a real hotel. The entrance is difficult to find as it is just a door in a street with various kinds of businesses, such as a Hairdressers at the end of the Long narrow corridor behind the front door.
The door is also shared with other businesses and requires a code to enter. See photos. Other people were coming and going all the time through this door. There is a small elevator taking one to the third floor. Another code is required to enter and this is the same code as for the room itself.
After entering, there is a modest breakfast room with available small snacks and tea and coffee. There is a very narrow dark hallway to the room. The room is very small with virtually no space to put anything. There is no shelf space to speak of in the bathroom. Everything was clean, however. There were sufficient power outlets, including USB. There is no actual air conditioning, only a fan. There was no one in attendance when we arrived.
The neighborhood might not be comfortable for some people. The hotel is a short walk from the Sevastopol Saint Denis Metro station.
At breakfast, there was a very nice lady and a representative from the hotel . The breakfast was generous and the service was good. The hotel was not good value for money, and we were fortunately able to secure rooms in a hotel one block away from the Tuileries gardens, for the same price. We had pre-paid the room at Tinah and we’re not able to get a refund for the two unused nights.
