Its not directly on the west lake, but about 10 minutes walk. If I just want to complain 🙂, the view was not that great from my room.

Staff were very accommodating and breakfast options were great. Pool was colder than anticipated - was suited for swimming lengths but not really for a casual dip.

Die Frühstücksauswahl ist klein, aber fein (Pho, Früchte, Sandwiches oder Crossaints). Das Personal war zu jeder Zeit sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Ich würde wieder dort übernachten! Der Frühstücksraum ist in einem Hotelzimmer untergebracht, was etwas eigen ist. Man darf das Frühstück aber mit aufs Zimmer nehmen, wenn der Raum voll ist.

• Michel (10/5): Prachtige suite. - De suite was zeer groot, we hadden drie slaapkamers met allemaal een eigen badkamer. Alles was super schoon! De keuken was voorzien van een wasmachine gecombineerd met droger, alle kleding kon mooi schoon weer mee naar huis. Vanaf het balkon heb je een prachtig uitzicht over Hanoi en Westlake. Wij hebben hier zeer goed geslapen. De kwaliteit van het ontbijt was fantastisch! Puntje van feedback: het ontbijt wordt gegeten in twee naast elkaar gelegen hotelkamers, dit maakt het wat ongezellig en niet passend bij een vijf sterren hotel. Ook het zwembad is een beetje sfeerloos. Je moet zelf je handdoeken meenemen van je hotelkamer, er is daar geen handdoekservice.

Breakfast was included, plentiful and lots of options - delicious! It was also nice and relaxed, small buffet style unlike the chaos of bigger hotels. Staff were super friendly, professional and helpful, any request is just a whatsapp, call or chat away. Extra special thanks to Jacob who went above and beyond from the moment we arrived, in particular sharing a feature on google maps to pin point many useful places from local supermarkets, eateries/coffee shops, and best places to visit for tourist re landmarks etc. He checked in to make sure everything was going well and to let us know he was there if needed - 10/10 service! Being on the lake and slightly out of old quater etc but was nice as a bit of a different vibe, could Grab in to central places in around 20 mins, for £2 give ir take so no bother! Super happy this was our last stop and would 100% come back. Towards the end of our stay the bed did start to feel a bit too hard for us, we like mid - hard firmness and was slightly to much come day 3/4.

Value plus. - We absolutely loved our stay but what truly made it exceptional was the warmth, friendliness, and genuine care from every single staff member. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and at home. Nothing was ever too much trouble. A very special mention to Hoang, who went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. He thoughtfully has created a personalised Google Map filled with hidden gems we would never have discovered on our own and they ended up being some of the highlights of our trip. Hoang also generously gave his time to answer our many questions about Vietnam and its culture, which we truly valued. His kindness and pride in sharing his country really stood out. Honestly, the level of service from Hoang and the entire team was equal to, if not better than, what you would expect from a premium 5-star hotel. Breakfast was consistently fresh, delicious, and something we looked forward to each morning. Our room had everything we needed, and the inclusion of a washing machine and dryer was such a thoughtful touch, especially towards the end of our trip. Our room was clean and fantastic service daily. We also loved the pool and gym area, perfect for unwinding and the location was ideal. Being so close to the river made for beautiful morning walks and a great way to start the day. We would absolutely stay here again and will be recommending it to anyone travelling to Hanoi, Vietnam. Thank you for such a memorable experience! You made our trip truly special. The first night the room air freshener was too strong and perfumy. However it did settle down, so then was less of an issue for me. The bed was comfortable however a little small. The apartment space was small so wouldn't be able to accommodate any larger. There wasn't anywhere to really leave your suitcase open, so ideally you would unpack your cases, as there was space to do that. We just dealt with the cases on the floor, moving around them, which for us, wasn't really an issue.

• holly (8/5): Great staff, smelly pool - Staff were extremely helpful and polite. We got the two bedroom one bathroom suite. The suit is huge and clean, both bedroom and bathroom are well equipped. Breakfast was served in another suite like other post had mentioned, but food was good, and we ordered beef pho and omelet. I was hoping to swim there, but the pool smells like fish tank. Google said if the pool smells like fish tank then it is not safe to swim. Very disappointed
• Plummer (9/5): Exceptional hotel - Couldn’t be faulted. Service was Impeccable, facilities were exceptional and location, whilst could have been better was still within easy reach of where we wanted to be Not a thing. I would come back to this hotel again and again, no questions asked.
• Hanna (10/5): Service wird hier groß geschrieben! - Wir wollten uns mal was "gönnen" und das haben wir absolut. Das gesamte Personal war überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Besonders die "french man", die das Frühstück betreut haben, waren überaus bemüht alle Wünsche der Gäste in Erfüllung gehen zu lassen. Auch die Ausstattung war hervorragend. Unser Zimmer hatte eine eigene Waschmaschine mit Trockenfunktion und auch das Waschmittel war inklusive. Der Spa Bereich umfasst ein sehr großes Schwimmbecken und zwei Saunen die geschlechtergetrennt und mit Textil sind. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Das Wasser im Pool könnte etwas besser gereinigt sein da dort viele Schwebepartikel vorhanden sind.

• Michael (8/5): Man darf nicht zu genau hinschauen - Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und bemüht. Das hat über die vielen kleinen Mankos weitestgehend hinwegsehen lassen. Das Frühstück war sehr abwechslungsreich und liebevoll angerichtet. Die Zimmer waren großzügig und gut ausgestattet. Das Gym Equipment ist rostig, der Pool ist zwar lang aber durch die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit ranzt alles schnell ein, daher riecht es überall etwas modrig. Der Teppichboden im Flur wirkt auch ranzig. Der frühstücksraum ist sehr eng, hier wären zwei getrennte Räume für Buffet und Essensraum besser. Macht insgesamt auf Bildern einen hochwertigeren Eindruck als in der Realität. Wird dem Preis nicht ganz gerecht. Es gab zwar ein Balkon aber Möbel haben gefehlt und die Aussicht ging direkt auf die gegenüberliegende Häuserwand.

• Didier (9/5): Légèrement éloigné du vieux centre mais très confortable - L’accueil du personnel et sa gentillesse. La qualité des installations. La taille de la chambre. L’excellent petit-déjeuner. La lumière dans les chambres. L’absence d’éclairage indirect. La situation géographique légèrement excentrée.
• Jeannette (10/5): Wonderful four night stay in the thee bedroom for our multigenerational family - Our family stayed four nights in the 3 bedroom, 3 full bathroom apartment. It was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was lovely with a variety of fresh fruits, yogurt, coffee, juice, soups, traditional Western savory and sweet breakfast items that was all you can eat. And all the staff at Five Star West Lake were exceptional from the communication leading up to our stay, accommodating a late evening arrival and serving as a great resource through out. Also, Hoang attended morning breakfast most of the days we were there and he was very attuned to little details such as offering my elderly father assistance with walking and finding him a cane without us even asking and sharing valuable insights about some of the best places to eat and drink. The bed in the master bedroom was firmer than we are used to but that is really our only critique.

• Stephan (9/5): Quiet room with great price-performance ratio. - Price-performance ratio was fantastic. We stayed here for one night. The room was very clean and spacious. Best advantage in comparison to the Old Quarter: It is quiet! We enjoyed the calm night and would come here again.

• Sandra (8/5): Für die paar Nächte ein schönes Hotel mit allem, was man braucht! Prima :-) - Das Frühstück war sehr übersichtlich. Für den Start in den Tag ausreichend, allerdings nicht abwechslungsreich. Dafür hat der Kaffee gut geschmeckt.
• AOTEN (9/5): 広くて設備も充実、スタッフも親切で快適に滞在できるホテル - スタッフの皆さんがとても親切で、レストランの予約なども丁寧にサポートしてくれました。 部屋はリビングと寝室が分かれていてとても広く、ベランダもあり快適に過ごせました。キッチンには食器や調理器具、電子レンジ、炊飯器、冷蔵庫、洗濯機などがそろっており長期滞在にも便利だと思います。 朝食も良かったです。フルーツの種類が多く、卵料理やフォーをその場で作ってもらえます。デザートのプリンがとても美味しかったです。日本食コーナーもあり味噌汁もありました。 浴室にはバスタブがあり、お湯も問題なく使えました。トイレはウォシュレット付きで日本人には嬉しい設備です。 旧市街からは少し距離がありますが、Grabを利用すれば特に不便は感じませんでした。 朝食の味噌汁は、もう少しだしの風味があるとさらに良いと思いました。
• Jayne (9/5): Good location with easy access to all areas by taxi. - Rooms were well equipped. Nice Balcony. Swimming pool was great. Staff went above and beyond to help make our stay good. Breakfast area was a bit cramped. Freshly cooked omelette was excellent. Other choices limited but adequate.
