- Hong Koon (8/5): Good value hotel for solo traveller - The room was bigger than I expected from hotels around Ueno. It was good size for a solo traveller. The room was attended everyday even though I did not ask for it. The location is good, near to a strong station and most popular place are walkable. I am used to bigger pillows, so the small ones were just OK. It would also be nice to provide coffee instead of just tea in the room.

- ヒデキング (5/5): - アメ横に近かった 少し駅から離れていた。傘の販売を用意してもらいたかった。
- Philipp (8/5): - Big bathroom and tub (for a japanese Hotel).
Soft bed and pillow.
Fast elevator. Room Furnishings and appliances felt a bit dated.
- Ka (7/5): Good -
- Chia-i (7/5): Good - Great location Front desk only can provide limited English service.
- Timothy (10/5): An excellent choice for a low price, simple place to stay. - The location and the price were wonderful. It is a simple place to say. I had few expectations other than a place to sleep and stay clean. It was clean and well maintained. The bath, water pressure, and heat of the hot water were incredible. The decor feels very dated. There are no frills to the room, it is a place to stay. If that is all you need, this place is perfect. Also, the cleaning staff will require you to be out at 11 am unless you leave the provided notice on the door.
- Rastislav (9/5): Superb - The staff is so lovely very helpful they help me filling out form for yamato and lend me an adapter for charging my phone
- Nick (7/5): I like the place because it was very close to a train station and it felt like home. - The location was great. It was cozy in a sense where I close enough to the station but far enough away where it wasn't crowded. I wasn't sure how to operated the climate control system. it seems to only be a heater. So I opted to open the window.
- Yudthana (7/5): Good - location, room type and bed no lift or ramp to access from the road
- Zachariah (9/5): Superb -

- 星神 (8/5): Might come again. - Second time stay here. The location is convenient. And the staff are very kind. The lighting in the hotel is kind of dark.
- Khairul (8/5): Very good -
- 星神 (8/5): A good hotel to stay near Akihabara. - The hotel room size is pretty large. And the AC system works very well. The facilities in the hotel is relatively old, but still very clean.
The free wifi in the hotel is not very stable, a lot of reconnection will happen when you play game.
There is no adjacent convencient store, need to take a few minutes walk to find one.
- Merudesu (8/5): Very good - Excellent location close to Okachimachi station and within walking distance of Ueno. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Checking in and out was easy. Hotel was clean and had all necessary facilities. Staff were friendly to me. Decor is dated. There is no central room light, just a collection of side/ desk/ hallway lights which were yellow and dim feeling. Friends tried to wait in the lobby for me (it was 5 minutes or so) and they were turned away by staff.
- ad0nyg (4/5): Don’t waste your time, you’ll regret it - Place is below average, rooms really old. Front desk not helpful when room light was out. Bathroom was poor and fridge not working properly. Area is nice and had lots to see but would look at other options
- EmanZYU (4/5): Underwhelming - Stayed here for 4 nights and it was my last few days in Tokyo. Location was great. The place is within walking distance to JR and Metro station as well as Ueno Park and Ameyoko market. The hotel itself was OK. However, air conditioning was shut down during my visit and they only have heaters on apparently because it was cold in February. Well it was humid that night and despite the room controls showing 19degrees, it was blowing hot air!! Stayed in other hotels in Japan and this is the first time I've heard of this.Called reception and was told to open the windows or they will bring a fan?!! Had an awesome holiday in Japan but this was unfortunately one of the two things that made it less pleasant.
- TheFoodTraveler (6/5): Convenient and cheap - If you've never been in Japan, this is a type of hotel you have to try at least once for the experience on how the local business man and woman spend their business trips at these hotels, but be mindful of carrying only small luggage or trust me, you might not fit in the room together.
This is a typical business hotel so you only use it to sleep with minimum carry on luggage and only for a brief stay while spending all day outside.
Definitely NOT FOR FAMILIES!
I can honestly say that my bed at home is larger than their rooms and my bathtub is larger than their full bathroom here. So if you are claustrophobic, you might want to go somewhere else.
For those on a budget this place is very cheap, under $75/night including taxes.
The place is clean and quite but slightly old. Rooms have air condition and heating system so any season is safe. Small tv and refrigerator is also available in each room. The toilets here are those with bidet system too so each time you come out fresh :) and sure there is a small bathtub with shower, shampoo, soap and even toothpaste and toothbrush.
There is no breakfast included here but there is a restaurant next to the hotel and is very cheap too so there is food available.
It's located walking distance to many stores, restaurants and JR station so you can go to Tokyo, Shibuya, Harakuju, Roppongi etc very cheap and quickly too.
So if budget is an issue and you'd like to party at night then consider staying at this place.
Enjoy Japan!
- EmmaRamsay (8/5): Great to be where the locals are, but no wi-fi! - If you want to feel like a local, then choose this hotel and locale. We liked buying groceries at the local supermarket, shopped at the local flea market, and be in a neighbourhood where you don't see many (or any) tourists. It's just a short walk from Ueno Park and when we were there, it was just at the start of Cherry Blossom season. The hotel is also near the Okachimachi and Ueno subway and JR stations that connect you to almost all the important sights you want to go (and Narita airport!). The room was big compared to other budget hotels. We stayed in twin and still had room to move about comfortably plus stowing away four luggages. The heating system worked a bit too well that we had to open the windows to let the cool air in. Water pressure for shower was decent, soap and shampoo came from a dispenser, and there's coin laundry in the basement. The TV is also coin operated. Since this is a budget hotel, don't expect any other extra services, except decent housekeeping and very polite front desk. And yes, there is no wi-fi despite the website saying it has. The Gusto restaurant at the lobby is decent, too, where you've the option for free flow drinks (coffee/tea/juices).
- Bhavinmfab (6/5): Nice hotel but bit old fashioned - New green is located in centre of Okachimachi, it has most of train/subway connection in vicnity. Rooms are more smaller even by Japanese standards. Even rooms are bit old fashioned, however bedding is good enough. They have a nice restaurent and trouser press in the room and coin laundry also they have.Over all good for business trips, but wish if it was even better.
- MerlinT_12 (8/5): basic hotel - My company chose this hotel for my two visits to Tokyo because of its proximity to the office. I stayed there first for three nights, and my second time 6 nights.
Location: 5 minutes walk from the Okachimachi-Ueno station was convenient.
Room: A small, basic room with a single bed, but is clean and has all the basic necessity for comfortable stay for one person: warm shower, a small refrigerator, a tv and a hair dryer. It'd be nice if the hotel also provides iron and ironing bed instead of the pants press (I'm not sure how to use the large bulky device). The TV only airs local channels, which means Japanese game shows and news only. For someone like me who doesn't understand any Japanese, there might as well be no TV in the room.
Service: My room was always nicely cleaned when I returned from work at night. The front office staff barely speak English but they're very polite and efficient.
Others: There was no lobby available so there's nowhere I can sit to wait or have a chat with guests.
- travelmonkie (10/5): Convenient location - My brother who used to travel to Japan quite a bit helped me to find and book this hotel. It's one of those business hotels in Japan mainly occupied by people on business trips. The room price was decent, bed space was okay enough and it's at a convenient location close by the metro so my brother picked it for us. I'm around 5'4", my husband about 6'1" and we slept on the bed okay, a bit tight but we managed. The room is small but very clean and got all the basic stuff you need in a hotel room. Bathroom is very small too but it has a tub and it's pretty well designed for a small space so it's not so bad. There wasn't really much service, when we checked in they just asked us to use the machine on the side to do a self-check in. There are coin locker storage in the lobby area. The hotel is located a few blocks away from nakaokachimachi station on the green coloured line, which gets you to most major places. It's also close by a big night market and mall.
