Kate (4/5): - Location is wonderful and the pool area is gorgeous. The sauna / cold plunges are not included and $80 extra (for an hour). The rooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny. The housekeeping staff did the bare minimum each day. Not worth the $800 a night even though upgraded due to Ambassador status.

Eloise (9/5): Absolutely loved staying here. View from the room was stunning. - Absolutely loved our room facing the ocean, very comfortable bed, nice balcony overlooking the pool, and the location was perfect. The pickleball courts and spa weren’t open yet - so that would be an extra bonus.

Jillian (10/5): Relaxing staycation in Sydney. - The facilities are amazing. Bedroom with ocean view is stunning. Spa and pool are beautiful. Great place for a staycation. Sunloungers by the pool are such a nice big size and very comfy. Nothing it was great - they may need more sun loungers our couches in summertime.
Rob (8/5): I’ll be back! - The Staff, pool view and buffet breakfast were all great. Minor issue only: Room wasn’t made up properly from the previous use whenever that was. It had previous guests invoices and letter still on the table and the table fruit was all moldy. Also only 2 towels for 4 people.
Ho Yong (9/5): - The hotel room was very clean and new, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. Initially, we were given a lower-level room, but the staff later kindly moved us to a higher floor, which was a significant improvement. We really appreciated their help. On our first morning at breakfast, the restaurant appeared to be short-staffed, and our used plates were not cleared or replaced. Hopefully this area will be improved. There were limited seating options by the swimming pool. At times, it was difficult to find available lounge chairs when the area was busy. It would be great if more seating could be provided for guests. And there was also limited shade by the pool area. With not enough umbrellas or shaded spots, it could get quite uncomfortable under the sun, especially during warmer hours.

Debbie (5/5): The pool area is stunning. The rest of the hotel quite disappointing when advertised as luxury - The pool was beautiful. Unfortunately it wasn’t fully cleaned up overnight and still had rubbish beside seating in the morning. Gym was good but could do with antiseptic wipes to wipe down equipment after workout. Our first room, which we booked as pool view, looked straight into the back of pool cabanas not the pool. Everyone could look straight into our room. It was the weekend and full of children screaming all day. Thankfully we were able to change rooms. We had empty bottles outside our room for more than 24hrs from other guests. Tissues and toilet paper in rooms was very cheap, not luxury hotel quality. This hotel does not appear 5 star luxury. Especially after The Eve and Capella.
Ryan (10/5): Great spot, great overall experience - Room was superb, layout and location were great and the overall ease of everything just made the trip a really enjoyable experience. From start to finish the staff in all parts of the hotel were of an exceptional standard. The water pressure in the shower was terrible, and I completely understand water saving, but having a drizzle to shower under is not up to standard for a hotel of this status. The light gap from the front door into the room was also annoying if you like a dark room.

Kim (7/5): Would not stay again - Great location close to beach and eateries 1. the room, 2. the price & 3. the reception area. 1. The rooms feel small & the furniture squeezed in. The bathroom and bedroom were separated only by a sliding shutter door, which we didn't like. There were paint chips around the sliding door track which hadn't been cleaned up. 2. Price - of all the luxury hotels we've stayed at (in Australia and overseas), this was the most expensive and the least enjoyable. 3. The hotel reception area is stark, cold and loud. We waited in reception for over an hour for our room to be ready. It was very noisy - felt like we were in a central station and not a hotel lobby. Intercontinental missed an opportunity to do something special with such a great location.

Matthew (7/5): Overall a great place to stay with the teething issues. - The staff were fantastic Our led light in the bathroom was flickering all night - even after staff told us the issue was fixed. The building works started at 7am Sunday which wasn’t amazing for the head.

Dorrigo (9/5): A room with a view... but read the fine print - Location and outlook are just outstanding New, beautiful rooms and pool area. Lovely breakfast. The blurb on the rooms is a little misleading. While we had a sea view, our was glimpses at best, when you lent our the window... they fixed it, which was great, and we ended up looking east at the water and beach, but maybe we were lucky as it wasn't too busy.

Rachael (9/5): A modern, comfortable stay with stunning views and exceptional service - It was modern, clean and the interiors were really cool. The views from the balcony of Coogey beach and the pool are class!The staff were so friendly, warm and helpful; anything you asked they were so obliging. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. One small thing was that the room was a little on the small side and at times felt ever so slightly cramped. Our room was for four guests and there were only three of us. I think more storage in the rooms would be beneficial.
Christopher (10/5): My wife and I really enjoyed our stay, and are already planning our return staycation. - The location is wonderful. The room was comfortable, while the pool and open deck area was an enjoyable experience. Breakfast was well presented, offering a range of options, and was delicious. We enjoyed the whole experience - it was a staycation for my wife and I, so we are already home, but the overnight away from home and family was just what we needed to recharge ourselves. I really enjoyed the coastal vibes the hotel is going for in terms of room and lobby decor, as well as the people working there. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly Hannah on the front desk when we checked-in, who really set-up our stay on the right note.

PickyBrits (9/5): Comfortable place to stay in the heart of Coogee Beach - Helpful, friendly staff, half day early check-in for a reasonable fee. Comfortable, well equipped and reasonably spacious room with lovely ocean view. Good breakfast with lots of healthy options. Only informed of pool construction works after reserving. Wi-Fi a bit average and not Kindle friendly ( 2 Java script pages to navigate) so make sure your holiday reads are downloaded before arrival.

Megan (7/5): Overall it was good - We booked an ocean view room, but it wasn't a direct view we had a view of the pool but if we looked hard to the right we could see the ocean. Breakfast was fine. we were never told that the pool was under renovation I still would have booked but would have been nice to know before hand so I could have told the kids who were very disappointed

They checked us in early so that we could go for a beach swim and get ready for our lunch at Rick Steins down stairs. It was our wedding anniversary and they sent a bottle of prosecco to our room. Barbara (9/5): Apart from that it was great and I love the location. - The room was really nice and I loved the refurbishment of the hotel by IHG. It would be nice to have a magnifying mirror in the bathroom and the toiletries had not been restocked. Also, the pool was not available which I only found out after booking the hotel.

Service in the restaurant was very hit and miss and signage very confusing. Design of the restaurant was odd with several entrances and no host, especially for dinner.

The breakfast was average, the the swiming pool was closed .for mantanice. Batheroom shower head not as strong and water was out on floor , no shower door, batheroom bit small as well .

Hayley (3/5): Looks great but otherwise average - The renovation looks very nice but the rooms have only been refurbished not completely redone as the outside hallway noise has not been improved. Couldn’t get a table at breakfast. Had an issue with other guests running up and down the hall, and constantly opening and closing their doors which shouldn’t be a problem but is way too loud. Book a double room with view, quite deceiving as the the view is of Coogee residents roofs Check-in was very slow especially after travelling with two young kids.

Megan (7/5): really good and enjoyable. - The room was clean and bright/sunny, the staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. The room amenities were great. Access to Wylies with no pool was good. The double beds were too small for two people. We specifically booked for a swimming pool so to have the pool closed was not ideal and to only be told about this once we asked and post the refundable date. However wylies was good. The delay in receiving our bond back is not ideal. The family rooms are too small for a family.
