Guest Reviews
- Chantal (8/5): Great location and super cosy accommodation! Would stay again - Love love love the location. You honestly can’t go wrong with this place it’s cosy and quaint. Did the perfect job for what we needed. I would love it if they added some hooks to hang the towels!
- Marina (5/5): The poor hotel in wonderful location in London. To choose or refuse - The only positive point about this hotel is the location.
There is no breakfast in the hotel, but it was not a problem - a lot of cafes and pubs around.
The windows are doubled so not much noise in the night. However, when the neighbour of the upper floor comes to the room - you can hear every step. The bathroom is tiny, you cannot really turn inside. There was no bed light at one bed - I could not read. The ceiling light is not sufficient. The floor, the furniture is old, in poor condition.
- francesco (8/5): - posizione perfetta, gentili un po pulizia
- Clément (8/5): -
- Sara (10/5): - Perfect location, great price, friendly staff Only issue we had was the shower liked to suddenly turn cold halfway through and the light would forget you are in there (just wave your arm out the shower curtain :) ) otherwise it was a good size bathroom
Personale accogliente e disponibile.
In camera erano disponibili 2 adattatori ( presa corrente ), bollitore, lavandino, frigo.
- Rachel (7/5): What you expect for the price in that location. - It was a fabulous location at a good price. The sheets were clean. A bit scruffy and not the most comfortable bed.
- liz (5/5): -
- Elliot (9/5): - Great value great location easy check in

- Wan Nar (4/5): - Good location The facility is old and the light do not enough in room. During we take bath, the light always off due to energy saving.
- Mario (9/5): - Nice hotel in a wonderful part of the city for a good price!
- Mónica (2/5): Worst stay in the best location - Location only The room was dirty, old, floor had holes in it, the furniture was old and unkept, looks like something you would pick up from the trash, very noisy, no noise insulation, the drawers were dirty with like food or something, the bathroom was old. The only good thing about this place is location. Don’t be fooled.
- Sicily (8/5): Great cheap(ish) place for weekend in London - LOCATION! This place just happens to be next to the oldest fish and chips place in London, as well as a ton of cute shops and other restaurants. Check in and out was easy. Totally worth it for a budget London weekend trip where you’ll be spending little time in the room. I knew going into it that the bathroom was going to be super small, so that was kind of annoying but it definitely could have been worse. The stairs to the room were steep, but completely manageable. And the bed wasn’t the comfiest.
- Eleni (8/5): - Η τοποθεσία Το μπανιο
- Jan (6/5): -
- Gary (8/5): Comfortable central location - Great location. Large rooms. Good en-suite. Pillows were hard so rolled up a spare quilt! No toiletries apart from soap.
- Matias (9/5): Buena relación calidad-precio - La ubicación. Excelente. La habitación muy pequeña.
- Oliver (8/5): -
- Sonia garcia sala (8/5): -
- Andrew (1/5): -
- Gary (5/5): Good Location, Some Issues But Generally Fine - I think the location was great and it was easy to get support with issues because he main building was just around the corner The door lock was a bit awkward to get into the room and the walls were quite thin, unfortunately my neighbours were quite loud but aside from that it was fine.
- Mubarak Suliman (2/5): -
- Ross (8/5): - Location Hallway
- Alan (6/5): I would not back - Nothing sep cuál because is so small The room was so small but especially the toilet it was so small
- Kevin (8/5): Great value, hidden gem - Great value in a very central spot. Comfortable It wasn’t fancy but nice
- Vanessa (8/5): Convenient and comfortable accommodation in a lovely part of London. - Amazing location close to the course I was attending. Quieter part of London. Neighbours kept slamming the fire doors until late at night.
- Ian (5/5): -
- WILSON (9/5): -
- Erik (7/5): - Good location and clean A bit small room for 4 people
- Jabulani (4/5): - Shower Space too tiny
- Limbu (7/5): -
- Jane (5/5): I would stay again but some tweaks would have matched the reviews. - On the whole it worked well for what we wanted. The fridge was useful. The sheets were beautifully clean. One bed was right by the door, it kept catching when the door was opened.
The shower room was tired and superficially clean but there was a dirty cleaning sponge kept under the sink. This appeared to be what had been used to clean the shower room. Inside the bathroom cabinet there was some impressive mould growing under the tooth brush rack. This easily wiped away.
There was a broken piece of soap on the floor when we arrived and it stayed there the entire time we were there.
The extension lead was variable whether it worked.
The TV didn’t work (not the end of the world though!).
The stair carpet was grubby with small bits all over the second landing.
Not sure what the fire plan would’ve been.
- Valerio (6/5): One isolated experience - Location Wifi
- Rlena24 (9/5): Superb -
- La (10/5): We felt we were in good hands - highly recommended - The staff was super super kind and very helpful, especially Ali. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. It’s about a 7-minute walk to Bethnal Green underground station, with easy connections to the rest of London. The room was very clean and came with a kettle for coffee, a TV, and a fan. Communication was super easy via WhatsApp, and if there was anything we needed, we could just call with no issues. Truly recommend this place!
- Maggie (2/5): Too old and small. - There is a fan in the room. The bathroom is too small to use. The furniture in the room is worn out.
- Alan (5/5): My suggestion is to pay a little more and stay at a better hotel - book early - Without question the star aspect of this hotel is the location. Very close to all the theatres, attractions like Covent Garden, Leicester Square etc.
Also a plethora of restaurants in the area to suit all tastes! The room was very small, especially the bathroom which had somehow managed to squeeze in a toilet, shower and basin in a space that was only comfortable for one of these. Also double bed was small, barely big enough for two adults.
Facilities were very basic, only a small hand soap provided so fortunate that we packed shower cream, hair products etc.
We planned to stay at the main hotel building in Monmouth St but just missed the last rooms and ended up in the Annexe hotel in Engel St, perhaps this review would have been better if we had managed to stay in the former hotel?
- Sirak (6/5): Pleasant - Easy to get to from the train station. Available last minute. Had a fan. Beds were good. Reception was friendly and helpful. It did have a mini fridge, which was nice. What you see is what you get. The location did not have air conditioning, which made a stressful night pretty miserable. The bathroom is very small. We booked this last minute due to a train cancellation, so the price was very high compared to the value of the room. I imagine the price would have been more decent if booked in advance.
- Elena (5/5): Passable -
- Simon (7/5): Super location and nice ansd clean. Poss need shower gel - Really good stay. Nice a cleam, wifi ify Wifi
- Heather (7/5): Good location with budget accommodations - The location was good, the accommodations were definitely on the budget end of the spectrum. We did get fresh towels each day, The beds were firm, the living space was large compared to other options. There was a fridge and ceiling fan. The bathroom was tiny, the towels were not always in the best condition, and there was only bar soap provided. The couch was old and uncomfortable. It was difficult to close the door when leaving, no handle or knob to grab hold of.
- Diane (9/5): Central, spacious, clean location, - Central to where we wanted in London, near lovely cocktail bar and restaurants. Comfortable and clean with fridge in room. The radiators kept turning on in the middle of night, making it too hot to sleep. Did mention and the reception lady was lovely and offered to sort for us
- Kanitta (2/5): The location - The Location The place is so run down and poorly of health and safety with the electricity items in the room . Dirty duvet also sink in the bathroom is blocked. And the noise in the morning of foot steps from the room above /stairwell
- Ashish_gupta (8/5): Very good -
- Ali (5/5): Passable -
- Liz (7/5): Great stay. - Better than expected after reading some not-so-great reviews. Very happy with the room and bathroom and bonus to find a fridge and microwave. Shower was pretty good too if somewhat cosy. Furniture and flooring was a bit battered but still functional
- Gillian (8/5): Clean and comfortable. - Exceptional value for money. Clean, and, on the night we were there, quiet. Lots of local restaurants and cafes. Great for theatres. Recommend Franx for great breakfast. Quite a trek to the top floor! Could do with a sign on front door. Thin curtains. To be honest though, a real bargain.
- Ashley (8/5): Very good -
- Hannah (6/5): Pleasant -
- Allijah (5/5): Cheap - It was easy to find. It wasn’t very modern.
- Roberts (7/5): Value for money! - It was a basic room but that's all that we needed. The beds were comfortable. There was a fridge in the room which was perfect. It was value for money due to its location. It was also really close to our event! It was my fault the room was less accessible for my friend who is disabled. The plug socket behind the cupboard wasn't totally attached.
- Bateman (7/5): Good -
- Corinne (6/5): Bedroom clean .extractor fan noisy May be a new one would not make so much noise every time we open the bathroom door xx - The location and cost Tv not working and not enough tea bags and milk left and heard lots of noise when people came down the stairs ! Carpet may make a difference x
We were on first floor
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Mayra (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, clean, and spacious rooms.
- Sue (6/5): Was good value for such a central location - Location was great, rather noisy outside Windows didn't close properly, heater didn't work, was cold
- Martina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Julie (7/5): Good -
- Catherine (6/5): Perfect location for a low budget city stay. - The location was excellent, although a walk from the office location where we collected the keys. It was perfect for a short stay near the theatre district, close to multiple underground stations and loads of local food vendors. The stairs were a little tricky with cases for our whole family of 4, and the room was a little small, but manageable for a short time. The light in the small bathroom turned itself off if you were on the loo too long which was interesting!
- Nicole (7/5): Good - Fantastic location in Covent Garden. Close to a number of tube stations. Our family of 4 could all fit in the room. Very basic room and faciliyues, but the was affordable in comparison to other London centrally located accommodations. The bathroom was incredibly small, including a tiny shower. No toilet roll holder. Property is quite run down and dirty.
- Gregor (8/5): Great stay, exactly as expected, location unbeatable, especially for theatre visits. - Location is unbeatable.
We were allowed to enter the rooms earlier.
Staff very helpful. Beds definitely on the small side.
Fan in Room always on, when the main light is on.
Bathroom on the small side with motion detector controlled light (timer)
- Lesley (2/5): Very disappointed - Location great
Allowed an early check in
Cleaner was friendly Standard of hotel poor
Bathroom grotty and in disrepair poor finish and so tiny 2 people who aren’t large could not fit in the shower comfortably so couldn’t use it raw edge sharp tiles on drain used soap left from last visitor stay on sink
I’m tiny and barely room for me ,shower was broken and wouldn’t sit correctly in it’s holder so had to hold it We had booked 2 rooms and weren’t happy with either of them
Room and building looked like a brothel you see on films
Windows rattled like crazy when people above getting amorous
Bad lighting on stairway dangerous a very steep stairs
Very tired looking decor throughout very disappointed
Sockets and appliances not PAT tested lots of wires going into overloaded extensions
Not what we expected for Covent Garden and for one night for 5 of us we paid £420 for the 2 rooms no breakfast included
- Natasha (1/5): Disgusting and we didn’t sleep there and no refund - Nothing Dirty as hell and no refund
- Poul (1/5): an ordeal - The room was very small, the bed even smaller. Shaving lights not working. The price high.
- Clive (4/5): Small room with 4 beds, the single beds of which there were two are small/tiny and the double bed is like a miniatur - Location To call this a hotel is a misnomer! It’s not!
- Oskari (6/5): Pleasant - Excellent location. Comfortable beds. Friendly and helpful staff. Small bathroom/shower. Very basic amenities for the price. Only one set of keys for the whole group. No accessible sockets near beds.
- Andy (3/5): Overpriced for the room and facilities itself but the location was pretty good. - Nothing, apart from it gave us a roof over our heads for the night. Entrance hall dirty, stairs worn, no sign on entrance door at top of stairs to show where our room was, small room in need of a complete makeover - drawers broken, bedside cabinet tops peeling, tv remote filthy, bathroom tiny - could hardly turn around let alone dry yourself without having to have the door open into the bedroom, shower also tiny, shower control worked but extreme heat to cold at the minimum touch of the control, light sensor in bathroom goes off too soon so if sat on toilet for longer than a ‘quickie’ you found yourself in darkness (likewise if not enough movement in the shower). Headboard not attached to bed. Mattress was uncomfortable (probably past its sell by date). No city view, as described in the advert (view was back of adjoining buildings and rooftops).
- David (5/5): Basic accommodation but clean and in a great location. - Location was perfect for theatres and west end shops. Everything was clean and unexpectedly a very comfy mattress. The en-suite was so tiny, more like a cupboard and no latch on the door. No lamp shade and knotted wire was a bit disconcerting. Curtains would look nicer if the header tape was gathered up.
- Dovile (10/5): Exceptional - Free Wifi good connection, not noisy did not hear any noise from outside, Easy to access the sights places, cafes places , restaurants and public transport... 💌 There were no mats in the bathroom, so had to use towels and it was quite cold at night heating did not work, If with a child who love to walk without socks cold may be❤️
- Shu-yao (5/5): Passable -
- Schanzlin (8/5): Small space but location was amazing. -
- David (7/5): Good - Its a small room with a tiny ensuite bathroom in a good location. That's all I needed. Not much to dislike, but keep in mind that you get what you pay for.
- Agisilaos (4/5): Disappointing -
- Amy (4/5): Disappointing - Close to theatre Basic, electrics terrible, lock on bathroom door not good, light goes off in bathroom when you are in the shower, noisy - lots of street noise all night,
- Cb (7/5): Good - Great location. Room basic but functional and everything worked Expensive for what you get, but that is London
- Marilia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sanothiya (5/5): Passable - The location is perfect and every big attraction of london is the maximum 30 min distance from the location .But the room is just below the average the bathroom is very small and actually it is not a hotel It's a sort of studio 1 room apartment because there is no room service, hotel assistance and restaurant. In my opinion the room is not value for money only the location is above all
- Allan (6/5): Great value, location.... - location, clean, amenities, could do with spruce up...
- Penelope (7/5): Good -
- Fiona (3/5): Poor - Everything about the stay, couldn't swing a cat in the room it was so small. The cost of this room was ridiculous for 4 & the most expensive room we had through out 6wks of Europe.
- Nic (8/5): Very good -
- Bertrand (7/5): Excellent location - Nice location! Bathroom too small!
- Obhiojie (1/5): Bad -
- Tina (7/5): Good -
- Rohum (5/5): For a short stay of one night with access to central London, it is fair. - Location, staff and clean Small, no elevator, not enough accessories, broken cup, not even a paper napkins in the room! For the price I paid and calling it a hotel, I expected a better quality.
- David (5/5): Suitable accommodation in an excellent location for one night. - The location was excellent. Basic facilities and compact.
- Eamonn (8/5): Very good -
- Donna (5/5): Very antiquated. Bed not very comfortable. -
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional - Location was central which is amazing for the price! Room was enormous with tea and coffee facilities, tv and private bathroom & shower! I have stayed in budget rooms before and the bathroom is almost always shared so this was brilliant. Yes it’s outdated and not the most amazing furniture and a little old looking but seriously who cares for the price, location and privacy it was just what we were needing. Travel to London all the time to stay over for auditions with my son will be choosing this place every time!
