Robert (5/5): Disappointing. We stayed here 30+ years ago and enjoyed it, but the place is now a bit rundown. - Unique facility as it is a former 13th century castle. The apartment that was provided to us we very musty and damp. We were unable to change apartments upon arrival and then was not contacted by management the next day, while we were sightseeing, that another apartment was available. Office hours at the facility are very limited. The road signage to the facility is poor making it a bit tricky to locate at night. The restaurant was poor with generally poor service. We ended up cutting our stay short due to the poor condition of the assigned apartment!
Baytreewhite (10/5): A perfect stay at Castello di Montegufoni - We felt very privileged to stay in this wonderful historic gem ! The castle was just amazing and gave us the completely unique experience of staying in an actual castle with its own grotto and magical story ! Everything was exceptional, the location, the views from the terrace and the wonderful friendly and helpful staff especially Stefania and Valentina (although everyone we met were very friendly and kind ) Yes it’s quirky and it’s not a hotel as most people would know it but it you embrace the thought of self catering and living for a while in this very special place you cannot fail to be utterly charmed by it ! We would most definitely love to return !

Sherpa64930716992 (10/5): Quintessential Tuscan castle villa. - A beautiful property with stunning architecture and gardens. We had looked at videos on you tube that didn't seem to do it justice. We were impressed and the villa we stayed in was accommodating. Great space, two bathrooms, mini kitchen and ample dining and lounging space. They actually did have enough TP and shampoo and soaps. The staff were so helpful in getting flowers, prosecco and picture set for our anniversary ( added cost, but so responsive and helpful!). The bar and restaurant are simple and small but nice to have on property if you don't want to drive. We even ordered take away food and drinks one night. Overall, we had been enjoying ourselves immensly!

Stoddart (5/5): Good Tuscan location but uncomfortable rooms and cold! - Location was central to our goal of being within an hour's drive to the Tuscan walled cities and to Florence. Cold no matter where you were. Too many large, awkward steps to the 1st apartment (37!), and inside 24 steps to the bedroom & bathroom! The stairs were like climbing a tree house. We relocated after 1night to a ground but efficiency. That was better but much smaller, no couch, small table & chairs. Missing part of the Italian style coffee pot. Bathroom was nice but with steps. It was cold outside so staff turned on the heat and we were all charged 20 Euros per day! We had no control in the apartment of the heat, which we were told is controlled by the individual owners. The only public area was the balcony porch off the large unused room next to the reception room. It had sun in the a.m., so you could take your coffee cup out there. And talk to others. The staff tries to be helpful, but each apartment is owned by separate owners, and they're just property managers. No consistency in supplied and the condition of the apartments. The food in the restaurant was very good but we froze sitting in there, & had to wear my down coat. Wasted space re the large room and the courtyard. They should offer a minimal breakfast (rolls or croissants) and coffee in the room that's near reception.
Y9446DBjuliet (10/5): Castle stay! - Great location to travel around Tuscany. Beautiful and clean with great views. Lovely restaurants nearby. Great value. We stayed on the first floor of the castle and lived our room. The parking is down a hill and the walkway is gravel. Laundry on site four euro separate building. No dryer. Recommend going to a local grocery to stick up on wine and snacks. Request a hair dryer. We had a teapot and bright instant cofffee and tea. Small refrigerator in our room. Nice staff.
stylecouncilor (2/5): Bait and Switch - We booked a stay thru a vacation provider at the Montegufoni for April 26 back in July of 2025. We paid at the time of booking and received written confirmation of the stay at that time. Seven months later, in February 2026, only two months before the stay, the provider claims that they did not have availability when we booked (despite their taking our money and providing written confirmation of the stay). Without notifying us of the problem, or asking us if we would accept an alternative location or date, they moved us to a non-castle property over an hour away not near any major city and with no restaurant on site. They claimed it was an upgrade. Because they waited until February 2026 to tell us, our options are now limited. So if you are hoping for the “Tuscan Castle Experience” near Florence, just know that they may book you for it and take payment, but then when it comes close to your vacation, they may try to move you far, far away to a presumably underperforming property with no restaurant and not at all near Florence.

We were in a perfect 2-bedroom residence separate from the castello that was charming. Very close to everything we wanted to visit. Nice restaurants, small groceries and cafes nearby. AGCVS (9/5): betoverend - We hadden een appartement met 2 slaapkamers. Dit was zeer smaakvol ingericht, veel oude elementen werden bewaard. Het was zalig om door het hele domein te dwalen, je kan je even prinses van het hele kasteel voelen, bijna de hele benedenruimte is toegankelijk voor iedereen. Doordat het zo groot is, kom je amper andere mensen tegen. Verschillende hoekjes waar je kon gaan zitten, het zwembad, de tuin, ... De eigenaars waren heel vriendelijk, deden goede suggesties rond restaurants of waar parkeren als je naar Firenze wilde,... Een boek over de geschiedenis van het kasteel mocht zo geleend worden, of een leesboek uit hun oude bibliotheek (vb een boek van Chaucer uit 1876 lezen in je leeshokje met uitzicht op de franse tuin, het heeft wat!) Het is een fijne plek om te zijn en een goede uitvalsbasis om Firenze, Sienna,... te ontdekken. Een totaalervaring. Als je mindermobiel bent is dit niet zo handig, met je koffers op de trap is even zeulen. Maar een lift zou het totaalplaatje verpesten. Voor ons geen nadeel, maar als je slecht te been bent, kan dit een minpunt zijn.

The space was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the surrounding property was absolutely stunning—peaceful, scenic, and full of charm. It was the perfect place to relax and soak in the beauty of the region. However, we would not recommend the on-site restaurant. One of the waiters brought my husband a bowl of onion soup, which he had ordered. After we had tasted the croutons, the waiter suddenly said the soup was actually meant for someone else. To our shock, he took the soup away—after we had tasted it—and brought it to another guest, who began eating it unaware that it had already been partially consumed. We were appalled by the lack of hygiene and basic service standards. Despite this very disappointing restaurant experience, the property itself was fantastic. Alice (10/5): Cozy Castle near Florence! - My second time at the castle and the first with my new husband :-)! What a lovely experience. The staff and owner are so kind, cheerful, and accommodating. They helped us find a great company to have a Vespa tour and wine tasting, helped us do some laundry, and answered our daily questions :-)! Especially helpful were the clear directions on where to leave our car near Florence to hop on the local rail to get into the city center. Super easy! They've added a restaurant since I was there in 2018. Amazing:-) Be prepared to embrace the experience. This is a thousand-year-old castle! It is rustic and lovely. Wonderful deep sleep in the countryside. The beds are very comfortable, bathrooms super clean, and depending on your room, you may even have your own private balcony like we did. Easy to get to Florence and all the beautiful surrounding towns. Perfect home base :-) We will definitely be going back! The only thing that was a little glitchy was that GPS took us different routes to get back to the castle at different times. Check satellite map for the most direct route and biggest road, or you may get a little extra scenic activity ;-).
Glenn (8/5): Beautiful location and oozes history and charm - The property, room and location are amazing. It is very old so my review should be taken with that in mind. The room was comfortable and well equipped for my needs. The charm and beauty is Bragg taking. It oozes history and is not over renovated or polished. The room was a little cold for me- this is a personal thing and I’m guessing when the weather is warmer this would be a bonus. The experience in the restaurant was the worst I have ever had- food and service were bad in equal measure. I wish I had never had this experience as part of the stay- it ruined an otherwise great holiday. I give this point of feedback in the hope that the hotel (we also gave the feedback in person- 15 of us!) can look into this point and ensure it never happens to other guests.
Arlene (7/5): Incredible location and amazing views . - Incredible location with amazing views of Tuscan countryside . Helpful staff . Property can feel a bit isolated without a car . There is a bus service to local shops and Florence but with a very limited time table. The staff at the property did prebook taxis for us to assist with travel . The restaurant at the property was just ok and could provide an option locally with coffee and snacks during the day . Given the history of the property more could be made of tours and explanations of its history.

The kitchen was great as we purchased local ingredients for meals. It could use more kitchen utensils but still managed to cook everything we wanted. The environment was very welcoming. Strongly recommend for first time visitors to Tuscany.

Toilet didn't work properly and we had to provide our own toilet paper. Rooms didn't have screens and were cold. There was an additional charge to have heat activated. Charged additional $150 cleaning fee for 5 days and they required us to take out our own trash and recycle.
Voyager616646 (10/5): Stay at a castle?! Yes please! - We absolutely LOVED our stay at this magical castle! Built in the 10th-11th century, it has medieval charm and is one of the most incredible places we’ve ever stayed. The staff is wonderful, kind & professional. Laundry services & wifi on site. Plenty of parking. The grounds are gorgeous - an open air museum, incredible artwork & frescoes, a beautiful pool and views of the entire valley (with olive groves and rolling hills)! Conveniently located just 30 min from Florence and 5-10 min from Coop (for groceries, etc) The rooms we stayed in had comfortable beds, heating, kitchen and everything you’d need! FYI (for Americans): no oven or microwave in the kitchen, at least in our rooms, and no dryer in the laundry area. Just hang up your clothes to dry!

Nils (8/5): We had a good time, the family liked it - We had a nice two-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and a small kitchen under the roof. The rooms were tastefully furnished. We were here in September, and the temperature was fine. Three fans were available, and you could open the windows, which were equipped with mosquito nets. Be aware that there is no air conditioning. Parking and check-in were easy, and the staff was friendly. The overall castle-like feeling was very nice, but you have to like it. The best part was the pool – very clean and not crowded. The pool man came every day. It's a little too close to the main road, you can not see it, but you can hear it sometimes.
FarAway59926531900 (4/5): Carry- on Tuscany - The apartment was far too warm, with its thick walls and no air conditioning- We could not sleep at night, our 11yr old daughter had to take cold showers over night and my heart rate was raised by the Intense heat- they only provided small plug in fans that circulated the hot air- we conferred with other guests with Small children and they were aghast they did not provide air conditioning units in any of the rooms- we all were not sleeping well. The hotel does not have a concierge or any assistance with luggage. The apartment was basic, not cooker, proper cooking utensils and cleaning materials. The rooms were never serviced throughout the week we stayed and towels or bedding were not changed. On the plus side the setting of the hotel is Stunning although the castle is run down but rustic and beautiful. The restaurant was good, with an amazing view across Tuscany’s country side- and the staff serving were lovely and friendly. However, no bar services during the day or lunch available. The pool is lovely but no pool side staff to monitor behaviours in the pool- we did note some full on, inappropriate behaviours in the pool in-front of young kids which wasnt good. Overall, I would not recommend this accommodation in the hot summer months for families with young kids but spring or winter would be better for children.
Gardner (1/5): Not worth the money - Beautiful location The restaurant was closed due to a wedding on site. We have 2 young children and had to leave 2 nights early as we need catering. My money for accomodation I missed out on wasn’t returned to me. The shower in one bedroom had no hot water, the microwave was broken and the kitchen was dirty especially the floor. The washing machine on site was broken and I had to wait 2 hours for someone to arrive to help me with it.

This is by far the worst place we've been to in our whole trip across Italy - Huge castle apartment with stale air and no ventilation, practically impossible to stay inside. We haven't got any sleep there. The hallway to the apartment is an old pavement completely dark during the night. You must use your phone flashlight and I almost fell couple of times when walking there. WiFi doesn't work anywhere except when standing right outside of the reception, and cellular reception is also barely working inside the apartment. We paid for 5 nights and left after only 1 without any refund. STAY AWAY!!!

The apartment keeps the heat and makes even hotter. I am 6 months pregnant and have a 2y child in the apartment and when I complain the the property they said I should be the one who had know when they do not have written ac when you book its because they dont have. It was not written anywhere when I made the booking it was no AC They say there is wifi but its a lie. The wifi only work in the reception. We came here for vacation and we could not enjoy since we were dying inside the apartment The property just offer fans. 3 fans and they said should be enough. Really?? They said open your windows yes sure then get 1000 mosquitos bites. They don’t care about the customers just take money from the fake ad reservation they offer. Basically they said is my problem and I should be the one who had know there was no AC. Do not loose your money and vacation.

Bartok (9/5): Authentic, rustic, historic, relaxing, delicious. - We were looking for an authentic rustic 'castle' stay in Tuscany. This place was perfect!!!! Traveling as two families of three. The three-bedroom villa was perfect for our group. This 14th century property is simply beautiful and steaming with local culture and history. The onsite restaurant (open for dinner only) served wonderful local Tuscan cuisine. We enjoyed lounging at the beautiful swimming pool at the end of our days. Very quiet and relaxing stay. The kitchen was poorly equipped. The coffee maker brewed so slow that we joked about starting it the night before to get a full pot of coffee by morning. The mosquitos were ferocious. There aren't any screens on the windows, so beware!!

Janet (10/5): It was the dream of a lifetime! - The castle was fun to explore and nice surrounding grounds. We went in June and it didn’t have air conditioning, but it was cool enough. There was an oscillating fan in our spacious room. The doorways and windows of the castle were built to encourage natural airflow. The restaurant was top quality and staff were so friendly. Very romantic. My favorite surprise was all the lemon trees. The flowers smelled beautiful!! The water wasn’t the best tasting, so bring bottled water. There is a grocery store in a nearby town.

Charlotte (8/5): Gorgeous castle in the Tuscan region - A beautiful genuine castle with historical significance close to Florence in the Tuscan region. Just like the pictures. Large rooms, spacious and impressive. Beautiful gardens where you can get some gorgeous shots. The rooms were lacking in much natural light, but that’s because it is an authentic castle. Rooms are self contained with limited assistance and no cleaning service.

John (8/5): A Real Castle Experience - Read the book on the castle (available at the castle)and you will appreciate the unique qualities of the castle. if you want to get away from the Tuscany crowds and experience a true castle with a long history, this is your place. The castle has remained much the same since the 18th century, so don't expect a lot of modern creature comforts. You will need to provide your own breakfasts and lunches, and your own soap and toilet paper for multiple day stays.
scottsX2837XN (8/5): Historic property with beautiful grounds! - We had a terrific time at the castle. The place was beautiful (grounds and building) and our room was comfortable. We used the kitchen every morning and even made dinner a couple of times. We also knew we needed to bring extra toilet paper and there would not be room cleaning. Our room was pretty "vanilla" as there were not any antiques or older furnishings that we saw in photos of other rooms. We were disappointed by the night-time noise. We were in room 10 and the kitchen to the large suite was over our head and it was VERY noisy when others were in that space. Valentina was the most gracious host- she gave us a private tour of the chapel and the "Galleria." We also appreciate that the restaurant did a small take-out dinner for us the last night we were there as we had a very early (3am) departure time the next morning. It did feel "deserted" at night time as no staff were present. Not sure what one would do if there were an issue.

peppersnaps (4/5): Such a shame - I wish I could write a better review. We’ve stayed here maybe 5 times over the last 20 odd years, and have an affection for the place. The issues have all been covered in other reviews - and this time was our last. We checked out two days early (no hot water in our apartment, bare minimum amenities) and there was no interest or care as to why. Worth it as a wedding location but not for a comfortable vacation. Beautiful location, poorly managed, and much better options in Tuscany for your money.
Sherry (10/5): Fairy tale castle in gorgeous Tuscany - A castle in the middle of Tuscany makes this an incredible location to vacation! Staff very friendly and helpful. Good food in the restaurant, flavorful and reasonably priced. Grounds are lovely. The spiral staircases and cobblestones could be difficult to navigate, if you're not steady on your feet.

Cullen (1/5): Dreadful - Pool was decent and restaurant quality of food was great (expensive and needed to be booked in advance) but we had a lovely evening there. Air conditioning was fantastic. Our “garden apartment” was run down, not clean (dead bugs on the walls, dirty floors, spiders in the shower, smelled bad). Upon arrival our feet were black from walking barefoot on the floors. There was dust under the beds. Beds were terribly uncomfortable and we were bitten by insects all night every night!
Aitken (10/5): Like staying in a living Fresco. - The castello itself is incredibly beautiful. As are the surroundings and the views. The suite was incredibly atmospheric and had a lovely little private balcony, The staff were very helpful, the pool was lovely and peaceful and the restaurant served the best past we had in our entire mini road trip of Italy. Not all the rooms have AC or Wi-Fi which wasn’t an issue for us but could be for some.

Emma (3/5): Filthy and damp - do not stay in the 2 bedroom apartment - The castle it self is of course gorgeous as are the surroundings of the castle. The food at the restaurant was also very good (except funnily enough the pasta which was a little off), and the ambience in the restaurant was nice. It was easy to find and parking was available, but this is about where the good review ends. The room was FILTHY. There were cobwebs and dead bugs/ spiders on the walls, dust bunnies under beds and furniture and there were water rings and various other stains on the surfaces. The floor had absolutely not been cleaned in a long time (at the most it had been swept, if that) despite the claims from the lady at the reception. After being in the room for 10 minutes, our white socks were entirely blackened on the sole, and we never took our shoes off again. The beds were completely damp and moist, and in one bed I found some bugs. In the end we all slept in the same bed in the hopes that airing the room and our body temperature would reduce the dampness, but we all just woke up wet and cold, as well as us all catching a cold after our stay. We were also given the wrong room, since we had booked on with a patio/ veranda, but they claimed Booking are the ones who randomly fill out what a room has and not them, and therefore we were just slotted into the room, even though we paid more for the one with a patio. The receptionist was very unhelpful and just flat out did not care, she told us it was not their issue (even though they manage the property), tried to blame it all on booking for the wrong room, and that we should have come straight to the reception (granted we did wait a little because we thought it might get a bit better with air etc), even though this is no excuse for the room being this filthy in the first place. A huge disappointment the whole thing and would absolutely not recommend staying here, at least certainly not in the 2 room apartment, that apparently has a patio/ veranda, which it does not. Save your money, find something more modern and stay there instead!

emmapX2301QW (8/5): AMAZING VIEWS a little slack on service. - We stayed here for 4 nights on a recent trip to Italy. The castle is in a great small village not too far from small towns. The room we stayed in had amazing views. We were looking for a place to relax that we didn't need to go out much. We found that the accommodation didn't really supply anything. You even had to buy toilet paper, the kitchen had pots and pans, but not staples like olive oil etc, they also don't supply washing up liquid or a brush for dishes. This meant we needed to make a few trips into town, which was a pain. There is also no servicing of rooms and if you want new towels you have to pay. We expected a little more for the price.
AmasterStl (10/5): Trip of a lifetime. - Hello! I recently saw a review about Castillo Montegufoni that seemed as if it was a different place then my wife and I stayed. We were there for a week and loved every minute. We had dinner there every night the dining room was open. The meals were varied and wonderful. The dining area was small so you needed to notify the kitchen so you didn’t miss out. The cost was very reasonable and half the amount we would spend in the US for a 5 course dinner. The wine was great at 8 euros a bottle. Every afternoon we would grab two bottles of wine end sit on the back patio and enjoy the view of the Tuscany valley below. Is the Castle rustic? Yes, it was built in the 11 century. There are olive oil pottery barrels in the hallway that are 400 years old! The back stairs had indentations from the thousands of people that walked the halls over the last 1000 years! The front entry doors of the Castle had spear marks where enemies attacked the castle. I will never forget the trip. It was amazing. One more story. We meet 4 of the most charming ladies on holiday from Australia. Every night we had Proceco and wine on the patio. We played music, danced to the oldies and had a grand time. I’ll never forget it!
Jason (5/5): This property could have been exceptional with some attention to detail and a few minor adjustments. - We loved exploring the historic building and grounds. We loved the convenience of having a delicious bar and restaurant with great ambiance onsite. We appreciated there being white sheets on the beds. The shower had BLACK MOLD and it didn’t drain properly. The toilet flush cover wouldn’t stay on the wall. The lighting inside was very dim especially in the bathroom. We were not provided with the proper amount of toilet paper and no dish soap which most travelers do not carry. Also trash disposal should have been included in the cleaning fee.
Fischermom (10/5): Great Castle Stay - A final post on our resort: the Castello di Montegufoni. Like other resorts, it sports a pool, restaurant, bar and outdoor activities. Unlike other resorts, it was built in the 12th Century, features a grotto of the goddess Latona (had to look that one up) and overlooks some of the most scenic views this side of heaven. It offers 29 apartments in the castle itself and 11 guest houses with kitchenettes. The brochure says they are situated 35 mins from Florence and Siena, and although that is correct as the crow flies, in actuality, it’s more like 60 minutes when you take into account the very small (width of my driveway) 2 lane switch backs! Tuscan roads don’t have street lamps, friends. When it’s dark, you feel like you can drive off the world, let alone the road. And you will need a car to stay here - along with an adventurous spirit. GoogleMaps worked sporadically, so you can’t mind getting lost. But when you’re in Tuscany, who cares about that!!Would I stay here again? In a heartbeat. It was clean, beds were comfy, baths were “euro large” and the staff were super nice and all spoke English. Great memories were made at Montegufoni and you can’t ask for more than that.
MizWine (4/5): The Castle is Cool but That’s About It… - This is our third night of four and it’s been a very trying experience. Our first night there was a thunderstorm (obviously not their fault) but the roof in our bedroom was leaking in three different places. Water all over our floor in the morning. Sigh. We told the front desk. The next day and they gave us dish rags to clean it up with, with another night of rain to come. Three nights now of a nonstop wedding party with music until the wee hours of the morning. We were unaware of this when we booked thinking we were getting quiet nights in the countryside…not a dj literally blaring music all night, with screaming and yelling all hours. I get it. Weddings are fun…but CMON….we should have had a choice. We feel like prisonsers…. On top of which, it’s a little like going to a timeshare if you know what I mean…no coffee; extra towels cost; one roll of toilet paper and then you have to provide; good luck on soap and shampoo…; our AC/heater does not work…and asking for recommendations for wine tastings in the area is met with shoulder shrugs… I don’t know man, the castle itself is cool and has cache… but that’s all…no idea what the restaurant is like because I won’t go there after feeling like I’m nickel and dined to death already….
Juan (9/5): Beautiful, interesting place with old world nostalgia - The facility is very nice and the staff that wait on you are incredibly accommodating. Our room had a small kitchen and sitting area that was perfect for the two of us. The room came with a fan which we really did not need since we had screens on our window. Dinners were so much fun. The food was good and the setup allowed you to meet and talk to people around you. We met so many nice folks from all over the world and have made some friends. It would have been nice if they offered coffee and a simple breakfast (bread, butter, jam) for those morning when you don't feel like walking or driving to Montagnana to get some breakfast.
Lazar_fox (4/5): Don’t visit during the summer - mosquitoes and heat - The castle is nice and historically quite accurate, which introduces some challenges, as the lack of A/C and mosquito nets presents a choice between sweating all night or being bitten repeatedly. Moreover, most rooms have a single or max two power outlets, used for the lamps, so again a choice between charging your devices or not stumbling in the dark. And finally, the pool is really great, perfect for about 10-12 persons, but the capacity of the castle is 140, so getting there is almost impossible, unless you wake up at dawn and stake a claim. And no coffee in the morning. Probably it is much more pleasant in the cooler season.
146barbj (2/5): Disappointing - My husband and I visited this property a few weeks ago as part of a tour package. We stayed in room 16 which was very run down and outdated. Not only was there no air conditioning, but no maid service (no shampoo, soap or toilet paper was provided). Also to our surprise, there was no eatery except in the evening with a reservation with limited seating and could not accommodate us our first evening. This was troublesome as we did not have a car (no one informed us that this is a requirement) and were told by reception to walk on the busy highway to the grocery store 25 minutes down the street. The property true offers you nothing. There are no comfortable chairs on the grounds, no activities except a small pool. Lastly, both my husband and I left with bites and rashes from our stay. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you have a car and are comfortable with 1 star accommodations.

Anonymous (9/5): totally going there again. - it’s quite the magical stay. location is idyllic, fascinating and the Tuscan dream. restaurant is AMAZING. keep in mind, it’s kinda far away from everything so a car is needed. wished that since the nearest little store is 30min walking away that the bar would open a bit earlier than 6pm to get beverages and snacks. the pool at times was very full and loud. no airco (they do state this but just worth mentioning it again)

I got married here in July with 40 of my closest friends and family and I recieve messages daily on how much everyone enjoyed the 3 days here. I will start with Stefania and Valentina on reception, they helped me enormously, answering my hundred of emails and helping with all sorts from organising transport for my guests to being on hand all the time. The wait staff were also so lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Next up the food, Oh my god the food was out of this world. The portions were large and the meals absolutely delicious. The grounds of the castle are breath takingly beautiful and the pool was incredible to chill at most of the day. I had the dream wedding day and 3 days of pure bliss and stress free enjoyment in the lead up. They also helped me plan a welcome dinner and wine tasting/farewell dinner on the last night. I can’t recommend this place enough.
Roma225 (8/5): Bellissimo - Recently attended a very special wedding anniversary in this beautiful castle, with people attending from all over the world. It was a wonderful occasion in the most beautiful location. The castle, the views, the food ( be prepared to wait a while for it though!), the service were all excellent. I must have taken 200 photo's whilst staying here, it was stunning everywhere you looked! You do of course have to accept that you are enjoying the privilege of staying in a very old castle. A few points to be aware of; make sure you stock up with basic provisions before arrival (Coop in Montespertoli is great for this and not too far away) Also, the bar doesn't seem to open much in the afternoon so stock up!! The pool is fab to relax in after a day sightseeing and you do need a car. It was a magical few days in a stunning part of the world with amazing people, and I would highly recommend a stay here.
