• Ronald (9/5): Mooi verblijf! - Ruim en schoon, leuk ingericht. Locatie was ook erg fijn. De koelkast maakt veel lawaai en de eigenaar reageerde niet of erg laat op vragen.
• Graham (9/5): Authentic medieval charm - This lovely stone villa is perfectly situated in the heart of Berat Castle, with three excellent restaurants just around the corner. The beautiful decor creates a unique medieval atmosphere unlike anywhere else we have stayed. We found the heat pump system highly effective at maintaining a comfortable temperature, and the kitchen was well-equipped for preparing our breakfasts. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly, though there are a few small details to keep in mind. Because it is an authentic stone building, the bedroom can develop a slight scent of aged stone; however, airing the room out briefly upon returning each day easily refreshed the space. The shower has a wonderful high flow rate, though guests should be mindful of not using up all the hot water if traveling with a partner or group. We also noticed the front door lock can work loose; it requires a specific alignment to latch correctly, but it is manageable by pushing the lock itself in a little.

Es una casa muy acogedora en el mismo castillo de Berat con todo lo necesario Justo en la calle de encima hay una familia que hace desayunos y comidas/cenas (Restaurante Vasili) que nos prepararon comida súper casera, rica y barata con una atención de 10. No hay nada que no nos gustara.

• Sabrina (10/5): A chance to sleep inside a medieval castle - Loved it! Felt great to sleep inside the castle and roam around well after hours. Also good if you want to take a break and visit afterwards. The apartment is very modern and the air was cool because of the stones. I like that there was a washing machine with all amenities included. The people were very nice. Well it's in a castle so of course it's far away from the center so better bring all you need with you from the city first. Also the hill to climb by foot and by car was no joke. It was not easy to locate the parking 1 for our car.

We loved staying in such a historical and beautiful location! - The location was perfect and the house was a great amount of space for two people to enjoy Berat. The location was stocked with plenty of amenities and the linens were great quality. We did have a bit of a tricky time with finding the location but got there eventually with the help of the host and some neighbours. We also had some issues with the door code due to some flight delays but all in all nothing that impacted our stay
• James (9/5): A privilege! - Lovely one night stay. We loved Berat and staying in the heart of the castle area felt a privilege. It certainly did feel like a unique experience and a lovely way to end our trip to Albania! Door code access was brilliant. A note to others - payment is by honesty box, so ensure you have cash and the correct amount for payment as no change available. The toilet seat needs replacing (no lid when we were there)

Not very good sound insulation. Neighbours and people on the street could be heard quite loudly. Some of the pieces in the backgammon set were missing making it unplayable :(
• Gert (7/5): Ok - Nice and clean, also good location. The villa was quite cosy. Parking possible, altough not just outside the villa. They had a mouse or rat running on the rafter at the ceiling, we saw it several times. (Fast little thing). Also, there was quite small windows, meaning not a lot of light in the villa.
• John (10/5): Fabulous and unique house in the castle - This is such a beautiful little house right in the middle of the castle, next to a couple of great restaurants. The bed was very comfortable and a great shower too. Staying in the castle meant we could enjoy it in the morning and evening when it was quieter. Nothing really, just be aware it's a very big climb from the town so if coming by bus a taxi to the castle is essential. The nearest supermarket is also down in the town.
• Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Idyllic staying in the walls of the castle. A bit tricky driving up into the walled castle but once there beautiful to stay. Lovely restaurants close by. Appartment was very comfortable with 2 sofa beds and a big double bed. A unique experience. The drive up in the car was a bit challenging but probably should have expected this.

• Rafael (10/5): A perfect stay - The apartment is simply unbelievably beautiful. It is located in an old stone house in the centre of the inhabited castle hill of Berät. The location alone and this old historic stone house really make the apartment something special. The apartment is also beautifully furnished. It is spread over two floors, with the living room on the ground floor and the bedroom and bathroom one floor below. The entire flat was also very clean. The communication prior to the stay worked perfectly. All our questions were answered really quickly and very nicely. Overall, it was a really professional service from the hosts. We were even informed that you can drive up to the castle hill by car and park relatively close to the flat. So if you want to stay in a really very special environment in a beautiful house, then we can really warmly recommend this accommodation.

• Potatoes (10/5): Experience living in a traditional yet comfortable house in Berat - The property is cozy and has everything you might need during your stay in Berat. It’s also a great opportunity to experience living in a traditional house, albeit renovated and with all comforts you might require, which we enjoyed! The location is perfect, right in the middle of the castle, and with two great bonuses: 1. A lovely lady selling fresh fruit and nuts literally next to the doorstep 2. The restaurant Temi a couple of steps away, run by a local family and serving delicious home-made Albanian specialties We were working remotely from Villa Kokoshi for a week and the fast wifi and presence of a desk in the bedroom (in addirion to the dining table in the main living room) made the experience smooth. We’d definitely stay here again if we were to come back to Berat! Everyone in Berat was so friendly and hospitable, we were surprised to not meet the owners of the Villa. However, self-checkin was very smooth so no complaints!
• Anna (10/5): Wonderful experience - incredible location and super private! - Wonderful location - inside the castle walls which was an incredible experience and allowed us to explore around the main attraction with ease and late at night. Check in was super smooth as we were also a bit late. The owners have cleverly placed many options and recommendations for activities in Berat to do which we didn't even know. We landed up booking the walking tour that was advertised behind the door and absolutely LOVED it! Nothing to fault!
