Guest Reviews

- lauren (7/5): - super convenient for a place to stop if you have a morning ferry. hosts are incredibly hospitable and welcoming. burek and coffee available basically all the time. the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful to walk around! i mean, for the price i can’t really complain, but just a heads up: pretty sure the sheets hadn’t been washed after the last person, in general cleanliness was not great, no toilet seat and no towels. fine if you’re just needing a convenient place to crash for the night, but yeah you get it.
- Ruben (8/5): - La cama muy cómoda y la instalación muy limpia. Los mosquitos
- Laperre (6/5): - Het personeel was uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam Prijs te hoog in vgl met de kamer
- Mariusz (5/5): Passable -
- Alexandr (1/5): The worst accomodation in our lives. Owner of this accomodation should look after this job much better. - The only positive thing was that it is close to the ferryboat. Mold on the walls and the window in the room. I do not recommend to people suffering from allergies.
Breakfast included but very poor. Proposed dinner too expensive for very bad quality. Price list nowhere. Receptionist or boatman? not organized. The owner of this accommodation should change many things!
- Hamim (6/5): Welcoming and helpful staff at a great location. - very convenient location as it is front of the komani ferry station. has parking for anyone who has hired a car our room didn’t have proper facilities however a kind member of staff, Alessio, helped us with this and offered us a different room for the next night.
- Monika (6/5): Pleasant - Staff Attitude was great ( no problem for everything) Cleanless of the room and bathroom needs update (is a must)
- Lisa (2/5): Very poor - We stayed here the night to catch an early ferry in the morning for a three day trip on the Shala River.
It was convenient and had other guests but seemed like it wasn’t really cut out to be a hotel.
They said they could provide us with dinner but there was only one option which was frozen and it took 3 hours. The only breakfast available was boureg.
They were helpful and it served a purpose but we wouldn’t stay there again.
- Jaco (1/5): Bad - No one when we arrived, eventually had to sleep in the car.
- Kamil (4/5): Disappointing - Only good is that you can stay over night before prebooked ferry. Best is to board your car evening before ferry start. So you can avoid morning stress while they are in panic boarding all vehicles onto ferry. Nobody nows about our booking anything - good that we had all confirmations printed. Rooms equipment in really basic standard. Clima doesnt work because there were no electricity over night. Also cold water only. For one night and adventurous not demanding adults ok....
- Bradley (5/5): Pretty dirty but fine for a place to stay ahead of the ferry. - Near the ferry. I knew it wasn’t going to be great, but if you need a place to stay before the ferry it’s fine. I was cycling and I wanted to get there the day before. It’s very basic and pretty grubby. No towels, no toilet seat, dirty sink etc. but the bed was fine and there was AC. Don’t stay here if you want to enjoy a hotel room but only for an overnight stay. The free breakfast was a case of me asking what always available…. I took two bananas 🍌 and a burek.
- Harrison (1/5): Do not stay. A very unsafe, unclean, unfriendly stay where we feared for our lives due to the men that worked there. - It was very close to the boat trip pick up point.
Fast food place outside was quite nice.
It was cheap. Room was not as shown/described in the pictures - that's an understatement. There was no ac, fan or proper towels. The walls and floor had holes and cracks in them for bugs to crawl in and out of. The least clean place l've ever stayed. A dirty sock on the floor, a centipede in my bed, some sort of animal droppings in another bed. If we were to touch the walls our hands would be stained yellow. In the morning there was no offer of "breakfast included" as shown on booking.com. All of this distracted me from the lack of lake views - a stone wall out of a small window that wouldn't open. That was the room... arguably the staff were even worse. Sometimes they would appear friendly to us, a group of 4 men, however to women is a different story. Once we had discovered the atrocities in our "family room" we headed into the restaurant area for a drink. It was very empty except for us, 3 guys that worked there and 2 women who were about 25 years old. Only one of the guys spoke English and they managed to invite, after a lot of persuading, to get the women to join them at their table after offering free drinks for the night. Not long after the women then invited us over "to help explain a card game" when in reality they were scared by the men and wanted us there as a bit of protection. We played a few games as a group with the men getting increasingly more touchy and the women becoming increasingly more uncomfortable and scared as they managed to discreetly tell us "please do not go to sleep tonight - stay up as we don't want these men to come in our room". After the women managed to stand up to go to their room and sleep, we heard the 3 men saying "we have keys to your room we can come in at any time in the night" and threatened us to do the same if we were to talk to them again. Unless you are an experienced traveller in a group of men I would seriously not recommend!!!
- Christian (1/5): Nasty attitude by staff. Avoid! - Leaving The room wasn't the worst part. The obnoxious and offensive attitude of the people at this "hotel", haha, is something I've never seen before in decades of travel! If they don't like paying and respectful visitors, they should seek gainful employment elsewhere!
- Krzysztof (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ina (5/5): We stayed there for the obvious practical reasons. But still the hotel could be cleaner and nicer. - A hotel with a certain "atmosphere", which could do much better than it does. It could be very charming with all the wood and it's history! The rooms were quite dirty. Not sure if all the sheets have been washed.
Breakfast was a (fairly good espresso) and a wrapped croissant. No drinks for the kids.
Bring your own food for the ferry!
- József (1/5): Bad -
- Michiel (6/5): Fine for the price - Location and price. Smell outside from the trash, the fact you have to be inside the building at 22:00. Iron ceilings behind the windows.
About the rest, we didnt expect much. So nothing to mention.
- Tamás (10/5): Exceptional - Crew is very kind
- A (7/5): We had fun but we would not repeat our stay - Workers were very welcoming and after dinner there we drank beers, played cards and had a memorable time. The next day we were taking the ferry and as it's in the terminal we did not have to wake up early. The hostel is located at the ferry terminal in Lake Koman in during the day is a complete chaos plus you can't go anywhere else as there is nothing around but the river or a tunnel to go back to nowhere. The bedsheets were not clean and there were no amenities like towels or gel. The building is really old and it's a mess.
- Hoder (6/5): Pleasant - Great location at low price. You're right at the place where the ferry's start. If you (like me) want to just spend the night and then go on the ferry ride, without the need for much comfort - that's the place for you. It's pretty loud and busy, even late in the night.
- Brynna (9/5): Superb - Right next the the ferry with free breakfast , soft beds and excellent host and restaurant. What more could you want :) Nothing
- Cato (7/5): Good - We spent the night here before taking the Koman Ferry the next day. We arrived way earlier then we were supposed to check in, but they immediately gave us an available room.
- Alexander (8/5): Perfect to catch the Ferry - It felt like I was sleeping on a pirate ship! If you want to catch the ferry with your car the next day theres no better place to spend the night. There are drinks, coffee and a shop downstairs. The terrace has a good view out to the lake.
- Josip (6/5): Pleasant - For that ammmount of money od good
- Anonymous (5/5): if you have the opportunity to stay somewhere else, that will probably be a better solution. we don't recommend it h - good starting point for Komani lake cruise * the toilet is missing a cutting board
* we did not receive breakfast at all, even though it was written that it was included in the price of accommodation
* old and unmaintained room equipment
* in the evening extremely but really extremely loud music and singing. until we had to argue that we wanted to sleep and that we had a small son with us who wanted to sleep
- Erin (5/5): Passable - Good location of taking morning ferry but the location around is trashed and not the coziest. We picked this place bc it said pet friendly and on arrival they said they weren't. Allowed or pets in, but insisted they not be on beds.
- Johan (8/5): Very good - Rather high prices in the hotel shop - water was 3 times more expensuve than usual.
- Goetzen (8/5): Very good for the money you pay. - Compare with price very good. Perfect localisation. Just inside ferry’s port. Perfect localisation
- Jarek (1/5): avoid staying there - Stuck in dictatorship times
- Josephine (7/5): basic but not bad. - nice host, did not speak the best english but tried. i dont know why de reviews are so low. our stay was pretty good. i mean it is super simple and showers and bathroom was basic with cold water but it was not excessivly dirty. good for catching a boat or ferry in the morning. cold shower
- Nadia (5/5): Great location and a bit of survival ;) - For the cheapest option in the region I suppose it was bearable. The staff was really helpful and nice. Excellent location if you are heading for a Komani Lake cruise or Ferry - it is really the port itself, so to the ferry it's like 20 meters. Comfortable beds. There was no water during the evening/night so impossible to take a shower. Breakfast included was a croissant past the expiration date. Definitely not the cleanest place in the world. Missing toilet seat.
- Zoe (1/5): Worst experience in a guesthouse ever - nothing. the worst experience. shouldn’t be listed on booking.com. this isn’t run as a guest house Very dirty. Decided to use own sleeping bag instead. There were used towels, sheets and a disgusting bathroom. No loo seat. Flush v noisy. Bars on window and only a see through curtain. Awful smoke smell throughout. The guys running it were threatening/sketchy. Everyone appears drunk. Would suggest you don’t buy the ferry ticket from them - they charge extra and it’s a slower ferry. They will tell you anything to get you to book with them. Suggest you look online and book it yourself. There is a second ferry company. A fight broke out when we were there and glass was smashed - a guy fled in a boat!! Too dramatic for us. We were the only guests and just relieved to get away. No hot food available so you need to go back through the tunnel into town to eat. The included breakfast is a coffee and packaged croissant. Without doubt our worst experience to date.
- Lindsey (3/5): Poor - Very expensive food. No electricity or water
- Dariusz (6/5): Pleasant - Hotel is located close to ferry terminal thus is a convinient option when you want to take it to Fierze in the morning. All other things related to staying there is just basic to spent one night.
- Corinamatei7 (2/5): We hardly survived 1 night - We choose this accommodation due to location, because in the morning, the tunnel is full and is very hard to get the ferry (super expensive, btw, we payed 90 eur-for Albania is huge). The bedsheets seemed that weren't changed. Smelled bad. The bathroom not clean. Prices unavailable for food and drinks, they just tell you an ammount...
Do not recommend for a group of girls.
- Alexander (3/5): Poor - The location is basically it. Breakfast consists of a packaged croissant and coffee which is okay. Not all the staff speak English and because of how busy it gets they don't have time to properly communicate. The rooms were okay, a bit on the dirty side but warm water to shower. One of the rooms does not have any electrical outlets. They also overcharge for all the supplies and food because they have a monopoly on the ferry. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
- Vaso (7/5): Good -
- Imre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johnny (6/5): Overnight at the base of the ferry departing in the morning. - Proximity to the ferry dock. The included breakfast was coffee and a croissant. No toilet papers in the toilets.
