Guest Reviews
- Katrin (8/5): Very good -
- Carina (8/5): Very good - Great location , friendly staff, good common areas & breakfast included be nice to have curtains round the beds
- Wei (8/5): Very good - The location is the best. The staff are very nice and helpful. The hostel atmosphere is quite good especially for the young backpackers. The hostel facilities is very old and kitchen is dirty.
- Bonaventure (8/5): Great staff, great location, but the bedding (particularly the pillows) could definitely be improved - Awesome location, friendly staff The showers were weird, it was not a separate part of the bathroom. Also the pillow were very lumpy and bad
- Mario (4/5): Dorm room acceptable for one or few nights, but not long - You can read about the good points in other reviews (Good location, common area is fine). I only booked two nights and was too tired to check out after the first night, just I decided to stay the second night.
- The bed was ok, bedsheets were clean. Light and electricity in the bed, but the little shelf was very dusty. The mattress was not good, but I had way worse. I haven’t written a lot of reviews, but I find the current 8.1 rating too high. People rating this a 10/10 have no idea or are fake. There is some false advertising too (see below). I checked in late at 22:30 after a hard three-day hike, too dirty and tired to look for something else.
- They only accept payment in cash (no credit card usage to skip the VAT). I can’t find this information in the “booking details” in the android app, but I think this is the fault of booking.com. On the hostel description page, it is buried in the “guidelines” section, not easy to find.
- The bathroom of Room 33 is bad. One tiny room with sink, toilet and shower for 5 people. The shower is just in the middle of the room, so the floor gets flooded every time. No window or ventilation to get the moisture out. I had blisters on my feet after the hike and was afraid of blood poisoning even with sandals… Also the bathroom door was EXTREMELY squeaky and looks like it’s about to fall off.
- Booking room description mentions a Bidet. There is no Bidet in Room 33, nor in the common bathroom on the first floor.
- The radiator in Room 33 and everywhere else in the building were running hot (it is currently Summer!), so you must open the window or it’s impossible to sleep. I asked Reception if they could turn down the heating but apparently not(??). Some other guest closed the window, so I woke up soaked in sweat…
- Toilet paper in Room was empty yesterday, and was still empty this morning
- Booking descriptions lists “laundry service (for extra charge)”, however they do not offer laundry service.
- The electric water kettle in the kitchen is literally falling apart and a health hazard. Please replace it with a kettle made from metal
- WIFI is rather slow in the house and sometimes seems to have interruptions
- The breakfast included is very basic, but that was expected
- Room 33 is on the fourth floor, and there is also a fifth floor. For me this was not an issue, but maybe for you.
- Trần (8/5): The room could be improved - Location. The room was too small. The beds were shaky and they made huge noise when someone touch them. I couldn’t sleep ( i am an easy sleeper). The bathroom is too small.
- Maria (8/5): This hostel is worth the price, the location is amazing but some things could be better - The staff were friendly and helpful. They gave a lot of great recommendations and had a lot of knowledge about Bariloche. The kitchen was large and had a lot of kitchen appliances/dishware. The location was the best thing about the hostel; it was 1 block from the main plaza and centro civico, and a short walk from the bus stop. My room had an amazing view of Lago Nahuel Huapi and the mountains. The private bathroom wasn't great. For starters, it was too small for the 5 people staying in my room. The toilet button broke but the staff were quick to fix it. The shower head was built into the wall and had a curtain that could be drawn around a person for "privacy." However, the drainage wasn't great, as the water pooled. The hot water handle also broke off of the wall, and the bathroom was out of use until it could be fixed. The door also didn't latch well and could be opened even when pushed. The only other thing was that the breakfast was bare (to be expected for a hostel) but it wasn't restocked that well when it got busy.
- Kinga (8/5): Very good - The location of the hostel is perfect, directly in the center.
The kitchen is quite well equipped, so you can prepare almost every dish you want.
Most of the staff were really friendly and helpful.
There were homemade cakes for breakfast.
The common area was nice and quite big. The toilet flushing tank did not work properly in the bathroom, and it was not easy to mop up the water after showering.
Where the facilities are written, there is that they have a washing machine, but this is not so.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Matan (8/5): Great value for money - Great location, kind and helpful staff. Quiet. Facilities are very basic.
- Angeliki (4/5): Disappointing - Location & very kind staff The photos are completely different from the reality, not very clean. Also the building and the facilities are not retained in good condition.
- Shaked (4/5): Disappointing - The stuff is nice. The shared cattle had black mold in it.
The heating system was too hot the stuff told us this can't be turned off, we had to sleep with open window.
The shower head was missing.
- Matt (9/5): Great hostel - Very cool hostel located perfectly in Bariloche. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Large kitchen with plenty of space and well equipped too. Beds were comfortable and always hot water in the showers. Nice areas to hang out including a courtyard. The WiFi was a bit temperamental but other than that a fantastic place
- Tom (7/5): Good -
- Cristina (8/5): Very good -
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy place, amazing location. Staff is really friendly.
- José (8/5): Very good - Great location. Amazing atmosphere!
- Gustavo (7/5): Cozy safe clean economic great location friendly staff & travelers... - Full kitchen guests friendly descent people & friendly informative local staff Dont prefer shower toilet sink all together...hassle to wipe down...kitchen closes no late night food
- Roland (8/5): quick stay over in Bariloche - The hostel is located in the center and close to the lake. Breakfast is toast and cereal with the usual condiments. Kitchen seems well equipped, and drinks and beer are available for sale. The room is big enough to be comfortable to move around.
- Justin (10/5): Good Vibes - Good Vibes, amazing location.
- Ivan (9/5): Superb -
- Oliver (7/5): Good -
- Robin (8/5): Very good -
- Noam (7/5): Not worth it. - Private bathroom in room, nice staff. Concrete walls, you only hear your own room. Room is on 3rd floor. Water doesn't come out of the tap until you fight it. Shower is wierd, the center of the bathroom is the shower, which sprays everything. Doors don't close, even the room door opens at night. The place requires real maintainance. Breakfast is bery thin. Bad bread with dulce, coffee, and that's it. Expensive for what you get.
- Stacy (10/5): Exceptional - wonderful experience, very hepful staff!
- Lance (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cris (8/5): Perfect for short stay. Nice staff. Great location. - This place is very well located. Staff very nice and helpful. Clean very good. Bed cool ! And only thing i could claim.. very small mostly of the building, rooms very small, toillete very small ... but finally it works very good, price - services its very very good. i´d lodge in a common room with 3 more guest and i find it little small. But nice, with a great view to the lake from our room. Small areas to enjoy and rest. May be this is for me what i´d feel little uncomfortable. But nothing so bad, if you will stay no longer, its cool
- Olha (8/5): Very good - great view from the window.
lots of space for baggage, sockets and lamp near bed.
bathroom for a room.
breakfast is super! no internet in the room on 3 floor :(
i was going downstairs to use internet.
- Caitlin (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): Great place to stay in Bariloche - cozy, price and staff.
- Simon (3/5): Poor -
- Zeynep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaretha (10/5): Exceptional - great staff, nice breakfast, huge kitchen, comfortable beds the toilet flush was broken and it leaked
- Rafael (10/5): Good location near to everything - Like everything, the facilities, the location and the rooms were very comfy. The staff could be more helpful sometimes, they seems a little like they don’t care but not something that you can’t work on.
- Darlene (8/5): Very good -
- Jonathan (7/5): good location, nice staff except for the loud girl, booking with booking.com is teice ad expensive ss just showing up an - one block away from the main square. close to everything. the rooms were hot. you can’t control the heaters. we had to leave the windows wide open. one of the lady staff is always loud when she talks and you can hear her from the rooms. other than that, they were all very helpful
- ווהנון (8/5): Very good -
- Aleksandr (10/5): Exceptional - This is a gret place. Very convenient location. Friendly and very attentive staff.
- Sarah (10/5): perfect, clean and cosy - love this hostel ! staff so friendly and it has everything you could need ! will be back :D
- Karim (7/5): Good - Good location and nice staff. Breakfast is also good. Wifi is not top and bathrooms need to be looked after. The flush was leaking...
- Alice (7/5): Good - There was a good vibe at the hostel, everyone was making friends. It is also in a very good location and the staff is very helpful and nice It wasn't very clean in the rooms/bathroom but it's also the fault of the guests. However most of the toilets were blocked and the shower in my room didn't have a shower head (pretty uncomfortable)
- Péter (9/5): Superb - Very helpful and kind staff, nice breakfast, very close to the city center and the lake. Poor wifi.
- Etai (6/5): Pleasant - Nice bed great location, good kitchen and nive pepole. Bathroom has issues, many house rules are confusing, on check in there was confusion with my reservation which involved my payment quote and the bed I reserved.
- Ariel (7/5): Good - the location and kitchen rooms aren’t too tight but the bathrooms are super small, and barely functional. also some of them don’t close all the way. also this guy on the staff kept coming on to me, i get it but chill.
- Bettina (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was super friendly and the location is top. The ensuite shower and toilet. The toilet flush was broken, and you couldn't lock the door. The door was broken aswell. The shower was ok (but couldn't lock the door aswell).
- Polly (6/5): I was pleased to have to move to a different hostel, Cinerama was disappointing. - Breakfast was really good lots of choice and plenty. The location of the hostel was good near to the centre of town and close to the lake. I asked for an additional 2 nights when I arrived at the hostel and was told that it would be possible only to be told on my last day that they could not accommodation me. I had to move rooms on my second night and was given a top bunk when I had specifically asked for a lower bed as I have problems climbing this was even more difficult as the top bunks did not have ladders to access them. There are going to be accidents with people trying to get in and out of the top bunks.
- Willy (8/5): Very good -
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional - The best experience I had in the hostel, I recommend it with love and warmth.
- Niklas (7/5): Friendly and helpful staff, absolutely central - Nice atmospere; quite, but absolutely central Very small bathroom (2 qm incl. shower) needs some repairs ( no cold water etc.)
- Victor (7/5): Good -
- Juliang78 (6/5): Great location shabby property - Great location, about 1.5miles from bus station. Easy access to all buses, close to restaurants, shops, laundry, etc. One block from lake shore, centrally located. Helpful and friendly staff. Large lockers in bedroom. Dirty bathrooms, shower is a pipe in the wall, next to the toilet, sinks not cleaned daily, open trash cans. Small room with 5 bunk beds, very cramped. It's an older house, not regularly updated, needs updates to bathrooms and deep cleaning for kitchen. There is only one bathroom downstairs for the common area, outdoor patio is for smokers and not much common space to relax or have some personal space. I went to a hotel to take a shower and skipped every other day for showers just to avoid using the bathroom. It was an unpleasant stay and not restful at all, even though the town is very pretty with fabulous views of the mountains and the lake.
- Albert (7/5): Good -
- Sandra (7/5): Good -
- Dominic (9/5): Superb - good cooking facility. breakfast was good. friendly staff. affordable. excellent location. horrible Wi-Fi.
- Maria (5/5): a below average hostel I would say - the location was good and breakfast was nice - very small rooms which were cramped
- no ladder for top bed
- no lock on toilet door
- shower is on the wall of the toilet so the floor is wet afterwards
- one member of staff was cold, the other was on the phone to someone when I tried to ring
- overall it was an okay hostel, I wouldn’t be rushing back
- Gordon (8/5): great, cheap & fun. - the staff went out of their way to help me.
- Samantha (9/5): Perfect location! - Amazing location right in the middle of where everything is in Bariloche, but still off a side street so it's nice and quiet. Rooms were cozy and beds were comfortable-- backpack-sized lockers were a plus! Facilities I would probably rate as hostel average- nothing to write home about- but staff were awesome, thus kicking up the score. They were friendly and knowledgeable and the girl I saw cleaning in the morning was scrubbing everything down until it shined- even the walls! Definitely a good choice to stay. As mentioned, the actual facilities were just meh. Nothing crazy awesome, but not bad either, and overall clean.
- Traveler987 (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect located hostel, directly in the city center. Very friendly stuff - We had a problem with the flush in the bathroom and they fixed it directly during the day. We booked a double room with a private bathroom. The room had enough space (incl. chair and cupboard) and was really clean. The beds were also very comfortable. They also have a shared little terrace, where you can sit outside and also a shared living (TV and sofa) and dining room, which was also really nice. We really enjoyed our stay and would definately would come back. Perfect price for value. :) thanks! -
- Clay (10/5): Comfortable Stay - Great location, comfortable beds, friendly staff! Excellent hostel.
