Guest Reviews
- Dong Hua (9/5): -
Very close to Chinatown. I stayed in an economy double room. The room was clean, bright, and the air conditioning worked really well. Even though there was no window, it was still very comfortable for a stay.As mentioned in other reviews, since the floor is wooden and the soundproofing isn’t great, I would recommend bringing earplugs or headphones. With that, it’s not really an issue. Overall, for the price, this place is a great value. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, simple, and comfortable place to stay.

- Dan (1/5): - The location was good, which is one of the reasons we booked it. We spent about 20 minutes there and left for different accommodations. This is clearly a hostel, but no mention of it on the Booking.com page. The room was small, had no windows, mattress on the floor and a smelly bathroom. Ok for a cheap place in a decent location near Chinatown, but the listing was deceiving.
- marcela (9/5): -
- Guian (10/5): Exceptional - I arrived at around 5 AM, and the entry is pretty straightforward. It's my first time experiencing an accommodation like this. The location is pretty quiet. My room has a balcony. Comfy beds. No issues with the air conditioning. I like that I get woken up by singing or tweeting birds. I like that there's a restaurant on the ground floor, perfect for a quick bite. The restaurant added a vibe, the staff there were pretty nice, though I wasn't able to get to know them coz I was always outside.
- Omenaca (8/5): Very good - Private space and clean. Got my money’s worth. Could hear noise from other guests, walls were thin. No windows in the room.
- Barbara (10/5): Good value for money, clean and comfortable - The location is great, right there in a heart of Chinatown. The staff were very helpful. It’s clean and comfortable. I don’t quite understand the check in process after the restaurant downstairs is closed. I was sent a pin but I’ve tried and it did not work. Perhaps it was my issue.
- Ramos (7/5): Good - Location is great You can hear everyone around, below and above you. There was only 1 toilet in the shared toilets.
- Pawel (9/5): good starting point for visiting Bangkok Chinatown - - good communication with hotel staff,
- air conditioning,
- excellent location (close to main attractions in Chinatown, and yet in very quiet neighborhood),
- very clean,
- good value for money - men bathroom is on a second floor, women bathroom on the third floor, so you can have your bathroom on another floor than your room
- Maree (1/5): I cancelled my booking byt was charged. No contact possible. No phone. - I did not stay. No check in. Front door was restaurant under construction. No toilet or bathroom in room. Steep stairs. I did not check in or stay but was charged. No human contact and no reply to my emails to cancel booking. I did not check in and did not stay but was charged. There were no human contact. No reception. No service.
- Tour (2/5): It was a "Terrible Nightmare" experienced. - None Terribled rhythms sound of the wooden floor with the chatted of the next room all night long.
- Lee (5/5): not the sort of place I will return to. I have traveled a lot over the past 25 years world wide. - it was clean and quiet for me personally, it was a place with zero atmosphere. I saw not one other guest. the stairs are way too steep. there is no where to even make a cup of tea. you do a self check in with a key code, find your own way to your room. the room was clean and tidy I have to admit. it looked like there was a bar or cafe down stairs at the entrance, that may have been functioning at some point. pretty boring place
- Danez (8/5): Very good - good location, quiet clean and cheap. there is no staff during yhe day except on evening (reason of the low price?)
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Jana (9/5): Superb - The location is great. The bed comfortable. The balcony was nice. The rooftop was nice. The bar staff was friendly. The bathroom was fine. Bedsheet was a little dirty.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ajrina (8/5): Very good -
- Sanhakorn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cameron (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ho (10/5): Comfortable stay at Oriental - Good location
10 min walking distance between Hua lumpong and Wat manakorn station. Very cool drinking bar below to chill out
Good shampoo and shower foam provided for guests Nothing.
- Lucas (9/5): great location. shame about the staff - great property that has a nice social lounge/ bar area with tv which is ideal for pre drinks with mates before heading to the heart of China town Bangkok I had no interaction physical with any staff. all was done via messenger. no one greeted me on arrival. had to locate someone to let me in. property had me waiting for 30+ min
- Maureen (7/5): location is abit obscure, the taxi took ages to find it. But I’m sure I s my fault as I didn’t like Bangkok at all. - just the stairs and I was in the fourth floor.
- Nadya (4/5): Disappointing -
- Elaine (9/5): Great - Great location, very nice staff and good bathrooms. AC worked very good. Thin walls and door which is why you hear everybody on the hallway at night.
- Michael (7/5): Good - Cute place, very close to China town. We didn't realize it was a shared bathroom situation or that there was no window (our bad!). It's also under construction as of February 2023.
- Sonia (9/5): Superb - Good location in Chinatown and near a metro station
Quiet for Bangkok
Rooftop
Free water
- Chia (8/5): Pleasant stay! - In a quiet alley, just about 8mins easy walk from Hua Lamphong Train /Blue Line MRT Station. Steep staircase aside, it was a good place to stay for a night or 2. The young owner was friendly and helpful. Staircases rather steep - not for those with knee problems and elderly guests.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - everything was perfect, nicely clean, has a rooftop. love the check in process and check out, super easy
- Christina (9/5): nice staff - good location
great staff, they offered us to keep our luggage on the last day for free
AC
enter hostel with code (at any time) no kitchen (just a fridge with drinks)
- Stefanos (6/5): okay - good location not clean
not proper bed
- Tomohiko (2/5): big disppointing - good location noise, the balcony is not private,
- Hiroshi (6/5): Pleasant -
- J.z.v. (10/5): Exceptional - Right smack in Chinatown, but in a quiet alley. Beautiful interior design everywhere. Rooftop terrace with a view of temples and skyscrapers and neighbour's fern. I even came to like the steep stairs. Spent only one night.
- Ashley (4/5): Extremely average. - They had snacks and drinks available and you pay in the box. The bathroom wasn’t clean and full of flies. The beds are super hard. Self check in - didn’t see any staff my whole stay. Walls are paper thin can hear everything and there’s building work going on downstairs early.
- Rebecca (7/5): good for a couple of nights to celebrate Chinese new year - it was a great location for attending Chinese new year celebrations. It was clean and quiet. I was unable to use the balcony or open the window shutters to let natural light in which was one of the reasons for choosing this particular property and room.
- Tricia (8/5): Good Stay for one night and close to Train station - Close to the train station
Very clean rooms
Easy check in anytime Horribly hard beds, poor sleep
Small room and nowhere to put luggage except on the floor. This is very common in Thai hotels/hostels. Work this problem out
- Dulce.g (8/5): Great spot if you want to close to the train station or China Town. - The location is very convenient for reaching the train station, just very short walk so that was ideal. There are also a handful of very cool bars nearby. The room was nicely decorated and the shared bathrooms were clean. Towels were provided and The walls are quite thin so sound travels between rooms, and from outside. And if you struggle on the stairs, the steps up are very steep. I'm don't think there is a lift.
- Olga (9/5): Superb - Very close to the train station. We stayed here one night before catching an early train. Very clean and easy to self check in.
- Olivia (7/5): Good - beds were comfy , could come and go when you like door of room was stiff it scrapped along the floor each time to open or close.
nothing to dry your hands with in the toilets
location wasn’t the best
the coffee shop area downstairs wasn’t open
