• Zimmermann (9/5): Great owners, staff, property and location for the price. - Such a beautiful building, rich in culture and character. Location is close to Everything - right in china town and close to Markets and restaurants. Owner, Kars and staff were delightful and so welcoming. We enjoyed some delicious lattes and chocolate - best we had while in Thailand! The room was spacious enough for 4 of us - it was spotless and had electrical Outlet and light at each of the 4 bunks. The kids enjoyed the 2 upper bunks and having 2 washrooms was handy 👍. We loved the artsy vibe, the amazing art on display, the little gift shop and overall vibe ❤️. We would definitely be happy to stay there again. . We did ok without an elevator but there are many stairs (especially if you’re not on the main floor), which can be a bit challenging with luggage or if someone had mobility challenges. The back of the hostel leads out to a ‘scrap metal Industry’ type of street which was new for us.
• Damien (10/5): Séjour se deux familles en février 2026 - Le Photohostel comprend quatre chambres que nous avons occupées notre famille (2 adultes et 2 enfants) et nos amis (2 adultes et 2 enfants). Nous avions donc l'hôtel "pour nous". Les employés sont très gentils et aux petits soins pour qu'on ne manque de rien et pour répondre à nos questions. Kars, le gérant, est très réactif et répond très rapidement à toute question sur WhatsApp. Il a trouvé des solutions à tous nos problèmes ! Et, il nous avait permis de garder une chambre pour pouvoir mettre nos valises le dernier jour et pouvoir prendre une dernière douche avant de prendre notre avion en fin de soirée. L'établissement se trouve au sein de rues piétonnes authentiques du quartier chinois de Bangkok. Bref, nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel pour votre séjour sur Bangkok !! Rien

• georgie (10/5): Artsy, spotless hotel - Wonderful room in a ‘hostel’ but felt more like a hotel. Room was spotless, quiet and in the heart of Talat Noi. Building was super cool and artsy. Also had a massage TV which after 2 months of travelling was a nice comfort! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

• Jessica (10/5): Excellent séjour - L'hôtel est superbement bien situé près d'un quartier street art et très vivant. Le patron de l'hôtel a beaucoup de goût, car l'hôtel, le café et les chambres sont très bien décorés. Le personnel est sympathique et très accommodant. Nous leur avons demandé s'il était possible de garder nos valises une journée et ils l'ont fait sans problème. Attention, il n'y a pas d'ascenceur si vous avez de grosses valises. Les toilettes sont séparés de la douche ce qui est très pratique, mais la douche est petite donc il est compliqué d'y accrocher une serviette et des affaires sans devoir en poser au sol.

Presenza di foto artistiche, uno shop curato e originale ma anche un bar che offre ottimo caffè e cappuccino a ottimi prezzi. Stanze moderne e spaziose. Sì direbbe quasi di avere una casa a Bangkok. Personale cordiale e disponibile. I rumori esterni possono essere fastidiosi ma fanno parte dell'esperienza Talat Noi. L'acqua calda a volte veniva a intermittenza.

We also enjoyed the wooden bathtub and the unexpectedly good view from the top floor. • Richard (10/5): Stylish spot in a hip neighbourhood of Bangkok - Photohostel is a stylish place to stay, well located within Bangkok. The room is quiet and dark (good for sleeping), the bed is firm but comfy, and the bathroom is clean with good pressure in the shower. It is located in an excellent neighbourhood - not too touristy, but great for food and coffee and strolling around, with a metro station in walking distance. The room is on the smaller side, but easily fit all of our luggage. The staff are very responsive on WhatsApp and can easily be found on the premises. This was the perfect introduction to Bangkok after our long international flight! The entrance is a little tricky to find as Google Maps sends you to the back of the building. But the owners (and friendly locals) will happily assist you!

• Denise (8/5): Gute Lage - Tolle Lage im Talat Noi Viertel - hier gibt es viel Street Art zu bewundern. Metro in 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar (Blue Line). Die berühmte Yaowarat Road (Chinatown) ist auch in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Zimmer war klein, aber ausreichend. Das Personal war super freundlich. Nach 18 Uhr ist der Eingang durch das Café geschlossen, deshalb muss man durch den Hintereingang. Es wurde uns ganz genau gezeigt wo sich dieser befindet, damit wir uns in der Nacht nicht verirren. - Was in den engen Gassen der Nachbarschaft durchaus passieren kann. 😉 Leider war das Zimmer nicht zu 100 Prozent sauber. Die Oberflächen waren etwas staubig, was grundsätzlich nicht so schlimm gewesen wäre, ich habe jedoch eine Allergie. Das Bett war sehr hart.

Kars explained everything we needed to know and the information booklet in the room gave the history of the building and maps for arranging pick ups etc. Thank you to you both and your staff for an excellent stay. The building is beautiful and the location is fantastic for getting the public boat on the river and going to Chinatown street market. Our room was on the top floor, room 4. The bathroom with its wooden bath is beautiful. The bed and pillows were super comfy. We appreciated the fridge, kettle, and tea available in the room. I really appreciate Joe carrying my much too heavy suitcase up several flights of stairs to my room 🙏 Thank you Kars for discussing the photography on the walls. I can highly recommend the pancakes in the cafe. The shop sells beautiful gifts. Thank you again for an excellent stay. Everything was perfect.

• mauser (9/5): Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit dort - Die Gegend ist sehr besonders. Die kleinen Gassen im alten Autoschrauber Metallverarbeiterbezirk, dazwischen kleine Cafes, sehr verrückt und sehr fototauglich. Leider hatte das Hostel an unserem Übernachtungstag Ruhetag und wir mussten lange suchen um ein normales Cafe für eine Familie zum Frühstücken zu finden. Es gib viel Gastro, modern und teuer in der Gegend, Die meisten Läden haben aber erst später geöffnet. Tagsüber kann man sich super versorgen. Abends wir es dann auch wieder komlizierter. Ein paar teure schöne Läden am Fluss.... aber kaum normale Restaurants zu normalen Thaipreisen.

Not really a problem for me but I was in a room on the 4th floor. It’s a walk up so if you aren’t up for it, it’s not the place for you. Though staff carried my suitcase up. Also bed is very firm (but the room is very quiet and temperature control was perfect for sleeping).

• Antonette (9/5): Prima optie in Bangkok! - Super mooi hostel (meer een kleinschalig hotel) in een leuk deel van Bangkok. Wij hadden de bovenste kamer met bad en uitzicht. Super aardige en behulpzame eigenaar. Het café gaat pas laat open in de ochtend dus je kunt er niet ontbijten. Vrij harde bedden (kwestie van smaak).

The room is so well laid out with more than enough space to unpack and not feel crowded. Room, bathroom impeccably clean, kettle for tea and coffee provided. I’ve been wanting to stay here for sometime now and I have to say after 25 years of travel to Bangkok this is my new favorite place. Chinatown is the new hip section of BKK and it does not disappoint, so staying here is right in the middle of all the activities, however the room is super quiet which allows for a satisfied nights sleep. We loved the ease of check-in, the back door entry and the wide variety of street food a few steps away from the back entry. Fabulous place! Highly recommended! Kars’ photography throughout the property was stunning and engaging. The room key for the 2nd floor was a little bit tricky. Rooms can be a bit dark, you may need the light on during the day, but we were out most of the day so this was not a big issue.
