- Habib (4/5): -
- Domingo Doclan (9/5): - The location is perfect. It’s very close and within walking distance of Taksim train station and Taksim Square, and close to everything for buying food and getting around Istanbul.
The staff were nice, and they had some free tea.
The room is clean. Someone was smoking by the window, and the smoke was getting inside.
The toilet seat cover needs to be changed because it doesn’t stay up when guys are peeing.
- Jeet Varma (4/5): -
- Faris (3/5): - The hosts, and location The hostel was impossible to sleep in because of the constant noise inside the rooms. People were loud all night with no respect for others trying to rest. Especially a group of Iranian girls who kept talking and making noise late at night. Very disappointing experience and definitely not a good place if you want to sleep peacefully.

- Andre (7/5): Value for money. - The Hostel is underated .Deserves at least a 7.
Tea is available whenever you want to drink .
Clean, functional Hostel in the middle of Taksim . The management needs to be replaced . Sometimes they are rude .They can not speak English which makes it difficult for English speakers .
- Qasim (10/5): - Great value Just location so far

- Yuda (1/5): - Because I’m the kind of traveler who hates moving from one hostel to another, I decided to extend one more night and booked it via Booking.com.
At 10 AM, I already confirmed everything with the receptionist—no issues at all—so I went out to explore the city. But when I came back around 11 PM, the receptionist stopped me in a very rude way and said my payment hadn’t been received.
I showed my booking confirmation clearly stating that the payment was completed.
Then, with a very sarcastic tone, the receptionist said, “That’s in your app, not in our system.” Honestly, I have NO idea what kind of excuse that is.
Then he demanded that I pay in cash again or return the locker key and check out.
So there I was—11 PM, raining, freezing cold—and I was FORCED to check out and find another hostel.
This is beyond unacceptable. Terrible management, terrible attitude. Because I’m the kind of traveler who hates moving from one hostel to another, I decided to extend one more night and booked it via Booking.com.

- Yuda (1/5): - This has been one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve ever had. Honestly, choosing this place turned into a nightmare.
1. I arrived at 7 AM and just wanted to leave my small luggage while waiting for check-in. They refused. So I had to carry my bag around everywhere for hours.
2. I stayed here for 4 nights. On the third day, I asked to change the bedsheet—which is completely reasonable—but they refused. The receptionist even mocked me, calling me “too clean.” Seriously?
3. As a traveler, I usually wake up early and have breakfast around 8 AM. But here, the kitchen lights can only be turned on after 10 PM. Even making tea or coffee is not allowed before that. Ridiculous.
4. The kitchen and reception are on the 1st floor, while the male dorm is on the 3rd floor. If you’re downstairs, you’re not allowed to use the toilet there—you have to go all the way up to the 3rd floor because the 1st floor toilet is “only for staff.”
5. The room is dirty, the bathroom is dirty, and the receptionist with glasses is extremely rude.
Very disappointing experience. Definitely NOT recommended. This has been one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve ever had. Honestly, choosing this place turned into a nightmare.

- HEROUINI (10/5): -
- Atif Khawaja (10/5): - Excellent location very next to Taksim Square. Staff are amazing especially Masood and Shehroz really cooperative and friendly. If they can arrange a microwave then excellent.

Doesn't worth the price, doesn't have a kitchen
- Yang (1/5): - The front desk staff had a very poor service attitude. What's it like to sleep one night and have the ceiling collapse onto your face?
- Ahmed Awad (7/5): -
- SaberAhmed91 (7/5): My solo review - Was in prime location, couple mins walk away from the bus and train station. The rooms and bathroom were clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and in general felt like a safe hostel. The wifi worked properly (if that's important to you). They also had lockers with keys. No kitchen facilities and the owner said you cannot use the downstairs reception and usually they charge extra to use it. He tried to overcharge me at the beginning and at the end he accepted the correct price. Weird right.
- Hyo Jun (7/5): -
- ABDESSAMAD (1/5): "An old, unclean prison with neighbors making noise every day, abnormal people." - Tous
- Sabeena (3/5): The receptionist were too rude and money oriented I stayed there for six days but only first day they cleaned the bed an - Location was good very near to Taksim square Cleanliness was not maintained

- HAERUL (1/5): Not worth Hostel - Sadly nothing. What a nightmare to stay in this hostel, the rating is bad, i should have trusted it, but i thought i wanted to give it a chance.
When i arrived in the morning they told me to check in at 2pm then i told him on booking it's 1pm, i asked if i can leave my stuff and come back later but he told me you need to pay 100 liras, then i said i will just wait here then it's only 2-3 hours more till the check in time, he told me to pay 200 liras if i stay, even just to sit down on near the reception don't even ask for a wifi ask he won't give it till check in. I felt so upset and especially i was too tired coming from a flight and it was raining.
After check in the room is bad, all the stairs and bathroom smell bad and no toilet paper that i have to ask to get one.
I don't like giving bad reviews but when it's really really bad, i think i just have to do it for others so don't feel the same experience as me.
I will never come back to this hostel.
- AGOUZZAL (2/5): -
- Einar (7/5): -
- Gurban (1/5): - Unfortunately Nothing... Dirty rooms, dirty bath, location is ghetto, receptionist tried to scammed me on check in with price, looks like there nobody cares of hygiena. Very bad expression.
- Kanat (10/5): - 👍🏻

- Peter (1/5): Dirty place with horrible staff - The location is somehow close to Taksim square, which is nice. Extremely dirty place: especially the bathrooms and the stairwell never get any cleaning and they keep a lot of dust and dirt. The staff is probably the worst I have ever seen: there is unwritten curfew from midnight to 10:00am and you can’t use the common space or go out in this time. Because the staff at the register wants to sleep. At 12:20pm I was finishing something on my computer in the common space (after I checked out before 12pm) and he came to kick me out saying that if I want to use the table and the chair in the common room I have to pay for an extra night. The worst attitude I have ever seen I am a full time traveler!!!
- Denis (10/5): Nice hostel - The owner accepted me at night, all was clean and good, settled into an empty room, good mattress and blanket, air conditioning
- ahmed (10/5): - It was a good place
- Carlos (9/5): Great central location for a short stay - The location is very central. Walking distance to transport hub and commercial street. There’s locker and key was provided. The stuff working there was very friendly. The bathroom facilities are a bit outdated.
- M.akmal (8/5): Very good -
- Fuad (9/5): Superb -
- Hassan (7/5): Good - Host was helpful and intimate. Beds were clean. Location was quiet central, and in the meantime safe and cozy. There was less comfort during the sleeping time. The bunk bed was somehow shaky. Few guests were very noisy, snoring loud and inconsiderate .
- Akmal (7/5): Good - very good location and excellent internet signal are the only pluses. My first impression was spoiled by the check-in. I arrived, sat on the sofa while waiting for registration, and something bit me. Of course, the chair was disinfected afterwards, but it was still very unpleasant. It was also inconvenient to go upstairs with a suitcase. The toilet and shower were dirty, and the toilet in the room did not work properly.
- Jess (9/5): Superb - Very good location, friendly staff and comfortable beds.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Henyer (4/5): People is too loud. Impossible to sleep - Nice staff Veeeery loud. People come and go as they pleased. Also some people enter and even slept on the flopr (friends of the staff and other clients). It was 3am on a Thursday and people would still come and go and being veeery loud. I could not sleep at all. Next day I did the checked out and booked a hotel. Didn’t care about my money.
- Ali (9/5): Superb -
- Lauwai (9/5): Superb - Friendly people and a good place to stay Cannot cook.
- Lauwai (9/5): Hostel - Place where people meet. The caretaker was friendly. The place was decent enough for a backpacker. Pity doesn't have a cooking place. But tea was free all day long.
- Lauwai (9/5): Superb - Reasonable price It ok
- Paolo (10/5): Comfortable hostel - Xalila hostel has a perfect location, very close to Taksim Square and many restaurants, bars and markets. The staff is friendly, rooms are big and photos totally match the reality. Really worth the price!

- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you for this two weeks in Istanbul!
You're really good hostel!
- Viktoria (10/5): Exceptional - Great hostel! The room is spacious and comfortable, there is bathroom and toilet in the room and a nice common area downstairs. The owner is really kind and friendly and very helpful. And the location is good too. I really enjoyed my stay there.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good - Nice facility Staff has difficulty enforcing the non smoking policy which is clearly posted. Please be aware if you are allergic to tobacco smoke.
- Moschos (6/5): A cheap hostel in a good location close to city center to spend a few hours to rest. - The hostel is very close to Istiklal square (7-10’ walking distance).
Good wifi signal.It was quiet.
Cleanliness was good. Although we had informed that we would arrive at 6 am in the morning and we have booked the beds for this day , the receptionist couldn’t find the booking. He didn’t speak english at all.
After 15’ minutes , having showed him already the booking reference , he found it and he was surprised why we came so late in the morning of the next day 😳
Though we have paid that day .
The next receptionist when we checked out spoke english fluently and was friendly.
