- OlgaAntoshchenko (4/5): Good common space but disappointing dorms, not worth the money - The kitchen is large with lots of tables, the bathrooms were good, the staff was friendly The photos of the room on the website are misleading — one would think that the window is in the wall which is not in the picture, however, there just isn't a window, and the room I stayed in was not the only one like that. For 16 dollars I get a bed in a room without a window? There is no ventilation at all. A man with a strong smell of alcohol entered at night and there was literally no way out but to smell it. Luckily, I had to check out really early, and I was very happy to leave the room at 4:30 am. I for sure wouldn't have survived there till the morning.
The fact that there is no window must be mentioned or it must be clear from the pictures.

- Sina (9/5): Perfect location and amazing tours - Nice hostel right in downtown Yerevan. All you need is just around the corner. They offer amazing tours all oder Armenia and also one-way tours to Tibilisi, Georgia.

- Alex (9/5): Superb - Value for money. Very friendly people, nice building and excellent location. In a great city. I was very very very pleasantly surprised
- Seyed (8/5): Very good -
- Asen (10/5): Perfect spot for short visiting - Everything was great! Clean, no insects, the bathroom was clean, everything worked, very nicely furnished, very good location! The beds - the mattress and the pillow were not comfortable in my general opinion
- Naile (8/5): Very good - The location, quick replies to messages and 24 hour staff in the front desk (we arrived to hostel aorund 3 a.m.)
- Christinmary (8/5): Highly recommended to solo travelers. Such an amazing stay - Its in middle of city easy reach nearby attractions. Neat and clean also cozy . Nil
- Grant (9/5): An excellent hostel! - Great location, lovely staff-a really comfy place to stay Nothing not to like😁
- Martijn (8/5): Very good - Great stay! Very comfortable and really good shower pressure The bed was a bit hard
- Kalyani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arianna (7/5): It’s alright - Location is excellent, very well connected to main attractions in Yerevan
I enjoyed my private room it was fairly comfortable
The Georgian pancakes were an excellent breakfast option
Laundry service was cheap and very convenient Tours weren’t running because of low season
No real hostel vibe - there were very few travelers, in general much older in age
The only night I spent in the dorm was rough, the lady who was also there was constantly on her phone until close to midnight
Staff was okay, not the warmest nor the most proactive I’ve seen to be honest
Breakfast starts from 8:30 onwards - would’ve been nice to have it earlier since outdoor trips can start as early as 7:30
No kettle in the private room
They don’t clean/change sheets daily for private room - given the cost (same as some hotels in Yerevan) I expected them to
- Sumitr (8/5): Very good -
- Giulio (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was super and the tours they organized are super!
We really enjoyed it.
Closed to all the main spots to visit, bars and restaurants :) The double room was super small and the matress very thin.
Bit overpriced
- Lucas (9/5): Superb - The staff was very nice and helpful, the location is amazing and the rooms are quite comfortable The only little thing is that there’s not enough natural lighting, since almost the whole place is underground, but that’s not a big problem :)
- Amy (7/5): Good Stay in Yerevan - Clean, good communal space, kitchen well equipped, beds comfortable Reception almost didn’t give us a key to the dorm, and the other people in the dorm didn’t lock the room most of the time which didn’t make me feel very comfortable, felt like anyone could come in at any moment - maybe doors which auto lock when they’re closed would be best
- Reehan (8/5): Very good - Cool hostel, although perhaps not on the same level as its sister hostel in Tbilisi. Liked that there was a huge common area with games and a seemingly well-equipped kitchen, not that I made much use of either. Excellent location within walking distance of most of the city's major sights and adjacent to numerous great bars and eateries. Having breakfast available for purchase in the mornings was also convenient. Cleanliness could be a little better (there were hairs all over the small shelf next to my bed, which made me reluctant to use it). Bathroom needs improving - having only one toilet + shower per floor is a recipe for chaos. There's mould in the shower and flies everywhere, which doesn't make the most inviting experience.
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Great living area with kitchenette, where we met a lot of fellow travellers...
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff!
- Tadeh (6/5): Perfect location and lovely staff but facilities and rooms could be improved - Staff were friendly and helpful. 24/7 reception. Location is perfect for exploring Yerevan and going out to restaurants or bars. Communal space is good to talk to others. Laundry service is convenient. Good storage space. Price is reasonable. Room was dank and stuffy. Air conditioning seemed old and ineffective. This may be incorrect but there seemed to be only 1 toilet and 1 shower for all male guests.
- Anush (3/5): Not good - The location and it was clean There was someone who was snoring all the night was drank and smelling bad. Was imposible to sleep for 7 people in the room.
- Anush (3/5): Poor - The hostel was clean, good location. I changed my room paying extra money to not be in a room with a man who was drank smelling bad and snoring horribly and the next night this man was in the same room again do not letting sleep 7 people. Non of us slept was really horrible. You should let drank smelly people in a big room of 8 people.
- Kampoukos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aravind (10/5): Great place in Yerevan - The hotel is located in the central location, and very near to all tourist attractions. We stayed in a private room and it was good. The rooms and toilets were clean. The kitchen had all the necessary amenities to cook and store food. Friendly staff.
- Jennifer (8/5): Clean, comfortable stay - I stayed in a private room with bathroom which was comfortable and clean. The hostel is well located for Yerevan’s attractions and loads of cafes and restaurants nearby. Quiet street with minimal street noise. Friendly, helpful staff. I got my laundry done which was hassle free. I would stay here again and recommend. There’s a 2.7% charge for paying by card, just to be aware of. Or pay by cash.
- Zenita (10/5): Warmly recommended! - Super clean room in a good location. Friendly and helpful staff and great day tours for good a good price with excellent guides and drivers.
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional - Very social, polite staff, very clean beds.
They mop and clean the rooms each day.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olzhas (10/5): Highly recommended hostel! - Envoy Hostel & Tours in Yerevan, as part of the Envoy family, has very high standards. I stayed at Envoy hostel in Tbilisi couple years ago. So, I know what I am talking about and can compare it to other hostel as an active traveler.
What was great in the Envoy Yerevan hostel:
1) Hostel staff was very friendly and customer oriented, helped me with taxi services around the city, recommended all worth to visit places around.
2) My room – I was provided lower bed as I asked. My room and other common places like kitchen, bathroom etc were the same in reality as in pictures in booking.com.
3) Good quality fast Wi-Fi worked everywhere.
4) Kitchen in the basement had everything needed for cooking. There is also free tea, coffee and sugar in the kitchen. Thanks for that.
5) I saw laundry machine in the basement but didn’t use it.
6) Separate thanks for the bed lamps, socket/plug/outlet and shelves for each bed. Very useful.
7) How easily to find Envoy Hostel & Tours in Yerevan: Remember the following address: 27, Mashtots avenue, Yerevan. Envoy Yerevan hostel is located behind/backside of the 27, Mashtots avenue building. Mashtots avenue is one of the main streets of Yerevan if I understood correctly. Whenever I was lost, I knew that 27, Mashtots avenue was my lighthouse. I just needed to find building with that number and hostel was behind it. Not every local person knows Pushkin street where hostel is located, but everyone knows Mashtots avenue and can guide and direct you to the right direction. What could be improved in the Envoy Hostel & Tours in Yerevan:
1) I needed hooks in common toilets to hang my bag or umbrella as sometimes I didn’t know where to put my belongings.
2) Beds need own curtains for privacy reasons and not to bother other roommates when somebody turns on the light at the bed during night time. I used my own colorful blanket as a bed curtain for privacy reasons.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Great hostel and good facilities to cook, hang out, and meet people.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - Staff are so helpful and nice Leaving
- Lorenzo (9/5): Superb - The staff was very nice and friendly, always available.
The hostel so close to Republic square, in a neighborood full of restaurants and pubs.
- Artem (7/5): It was an interesting time in the center of Yerevan - This is a nice hostel in the city center where you can meet interesting people from different countries. The toilets and showers are clean and the kitchen is quite spacious. There is a supermarket 24/7, bars and restaurants, a bus stop that goes to the airport, so the location is very convenient. I was a little surprised by the towel deposit. There may be a couple of bad people among the travelers, but this doesn't mean that the trust in all other visitors should be broken.
- Mikael (8/5): Good central option - Great central location, 24 hour reception with friendly staff, clean facilities Note that the parking is on the street, and can be difficult depending on what time of day you arrive. (Late afternoon on a week day was difficult. Mornings were easier.)
- Laura (6/5): Pleasant - Great place to meet people in the downstairs, nice facilities and location. Two people I met were both woken up in their sleep by a man crawling into their beds. They brought this to the attention of the staff, and the staff did nothing because this man had been staying there longer term and hadn’t paid yet. Absolutely unacceptable behavior as they aren’t looking out for the safety of their guests by booting this man out. Also wasn’t a fan of not being notified that the tour wasn’t going ahead until I showed up for the tour at 9am. They could have emailed as I signed up by email. Had to scramble to find another tour elsewhere since it was my last day in Armenia.
- Nathalie (9/5): Great location - Very friendly staff in a central location. Large common space downstairs so a great way to meet other travellers. The private double room smelled a bit and our bathroom wasn't very clean.
- Anonymous (5/5): We enjoyed our stay during our stay. There is a clean place and excellent staff and services available at the accommodat - The address is very good and the accommodation is very clean
The staff is very good, very educated and speaks English and Russian Like I said the place is beautiful and very clean
- Felix (8/5): Very good -
- Dylan (10/5): Perfect hostel for solo backpackers! -
- Aarón (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice hostel and tours. I came to this one directly from the Envoy Hostel in Tbilisi and it was definitely the best option for exploring Yerevan. I took some of their tours and all were really great. Staff is friendly and helpful with whatever you need. The environment is great and it is very easy to meet other travelers. 100% recommended
- Sarah (6/5): A bit disappointing - Good location, had a nice kitchen/hangout area with free tea and coffee. Room was clean. ...I didn't know about the free tea and coffee or hangout area etc because the lady who checked me in just said "there is a kitchen downstairs" so I ended up not even going down there til the last day 😄 I chose this hostel because someone had told me they run tours, and on the website it says they have one most days, but they actually just run about one or two a week. (I recommend Hyur tours!)
My bed was extremely hard and sheets etc very poor quality. No shampoo etc provided for bathrooms which...OK it's a hostel but it isn't good value for money. Though bad value for money in Armenia for accommodation does seem like the norm when compared with Tbilisi and even many other European countries.
- Yunfei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Filip (8/5): Very good - Everything we organized with them was smooth and on time. Good location. The room had a bit of a smell, and could have been a bit cleaner. Not so cheap for what you get.
- Culjak (10/5): Exceptional - Everything AC is too loud
- Eva (10/5): The best backpacker's hostel in Central Asia - Especially the hostel staff
The tours
The location Having to leave!
- Jayn (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly staff, clean, good facilities and location. Noise seems to travel through the hostel. Some of the guests didn't seem to consider that others may be sleeping in the early hours of the morning.
- Roberto (9/5): Superb - ambient and staff.
- Jennifer (9/5): Backpacker style stay - Perfectly situated hostel - plenty of nearby bars and restaurants within a few metres, and the main sites are within 5-10 minute walking distance. Reception is open 24/7 and staff are friendly and happy to help! The hostel was very clean and beds were comfortable. The common area was great and I met a lot of other guests and new found friends :) Curtains might be a nice addition to the dorm rooms. Perhaps some weekly night activities could be organised on top of the existing tours to encourage a more social atmosphere - the levels of engagement amongst guests is dependent on the guests themselves rather than the hostel’s doing.
- Karthik (8/5): Very good -
- Giulia (7/5): Good -
- Ainhoa (10/5): Amazing place to stay - The envoy is the best hostel to stay in yerevan if you want to explore the country. I was staying in another hostel and I changed, so I can tell from my experience in others.
As a solo traveler, you're going to find tons of people to spend time with and, if you want, time for yourself also.
The tours they offer from the hostel are super amazing, specially because you get to have lunch in local people's homes, so the experience can't be compared. The facilities could be better mantained.
- Marco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrick (10/5): Great location and great value. -
- Werner (9/5): Very relax hostel - The location was perfect. 10 minutes from Republic Square, 5 minutes from the opera . 5 minutes from the center of the action. Very friendly welcome (even if you arrive/ leave in the middle of the night). Noise outside.
- Joe (9/5): Superb -
- Cortney (8/5): Very good - A well equipped hostel in a nice location in Yerevan; great tours It was a bit pricey for Yerevan
- Ron (6/5): Good location - Arthur was super helpful but the other staff weren’t as helpful or polite Staff wasn’t too helpful at checkin and room was dirty when I finally got into it.
- Branko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Well organised, clean and in the centre of town.
- Sofia (8/5): Very good - Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is perfect, close to everything, but yet not noisy. I did the tour to Garni, Gothard, and Lake Sevan which was also great. The common area is in the basement and lacks ambiance.
- Haa (5/5): Passable -
- Daniel (8/5): Very good - A propper backpacker hostel that fits your needs. Nice crowd of guests, good facilities and tons of options for trips and activities. Great staff and perfect location. Curtains for the dorm beds would be a nice feature for more privacy. It's a good place, but a bit expensive for what you're getting.
- Takayuki (10/5): Thank you Manager Zara! - Thank you Manager Zara! Thank you Manager Zara!
- David (10/5): Great place to stay - Friendly and helpful staff on reception (thank you Nina!) Lucky enough to have a dorm to myself. Nice lounge and kitchen. I liked it all.
- Tamas (9/5): Superb - I know it is a hostel with a different price class, staff is excellent, great location, very well equipped common room only the mattress was too hard for me. The only thing I want to mention are the bed mattresses.
- Essam (10/5): Exceptional - The hospitality and facilities they have provided
- Gela (8/5): Very good - Very good hostel in Yerevan, big common area free tea and coffey as well as stuff is helpfull and reception is open 24 h... Rooms downstairs have no windows:)
- Hakob (10/5): Exceptional - Very satisfied
- Rom (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (6/5): Unfortunate choice in Yerevan - better options available - Location - although entrance is around the corner on a different street. Individual room with a private bathroom was not in the hostel. Access was around the back in a car park and if I had have known I would have stayed elsewhere - expensive for what you got. Room smelt damp and musty. Bathroom was unfortunately what you would expect in a hostel. Reception staff hammered on the door to remind me to checkout. Didn't use any of the shared facilities as a result.
- Lynette (10/5): Great Stay! - We really enjoyed our stay. The staff are amazing and helped us with all of our questions. We stayed in a private room and the twin room has a small balcony which we loved. They have free coffee/tea facilities and a place to chill downstairs while we wait for our flight. It was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again!
- Sahal (7/5): Good -
- Khalil (8/5): I highly recommend it - The hostel in the city center is very clean and the staff is very good at listening to customers Everything is perfect in the hostel, there is nothing wrong in my opinion
- Asya (7/5): Good -
- Aymen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anya_ka (8/5): A nice hostel in the heart of Yerevan - Located in the heart of the city, next to bars, restaurants, pharmacies, shopping and anything else your heart desires. The bathrooms are of good size, with lots of hooks for your clothes, and they were cleaned every day. There's a large common area downstairs with a nice kitchen. Comfortable beds with a shelf and a night light. Booking lists an incorrect address for the hostel, so it was a bit hard to find by taxi. The staff socialize with guests on the hostel steps, right outside the window where people are sleeping. Lots of chatter, laughter and music until 4 a.m. There's a surcharge for using a credit card.
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional - Brilliant
- Terrence (10/5): Exceptional -
