Guest Reviews
- Ramesh (6/5): Pleasant -
- pmlousa (8/5): A very nice option, not far from the city center - I stayed 1 night at this hotel with my wife during my trip to Georgia and Armenia in June. The hotel is big and comfortable. The room was huge, with a nice sofa, a small table and one of the biggest beds I’ve ever slept in! It stands on a quiet corner of Dilijan, embedded in a small forest of big pine(?) trees. The hotel has a small inner pool and sauna, together with a and gymnasium and massage center, being perfect for families with kids. The minus was just that, like other hotels we’ve stayed at during this trip, it seems that the hotel was built with paper walls: one can hear all the noises around like we were outside the room. Other annoying “feature” of almost all the hotels we stayed at in this trip, is that it seems that both Armenia and Georgia have no concept of window shades, which means that one wakes up at 5:30 a.m. with the daylight. Apart from that, it was a really nice stay at a good hotel.
- Explorer222118 (6/5): Disappointing Experience - We stayed at Dilijan Resort Hotel for one night in a deluxe double room with balcony. The hotel is set in a lovely, forested location on the outskirts of town. The room was a good size, but unfortunately the curtains were very thin and ineffective in blocking outside light. This was not conducive to a good nights sleep. Further, no bottled water nor tea and coffee were provided in the room, although there was a kettle and cups. In addition, staff in the dining room appeared like they did not want to be there, and tried to persuade us to eat from a buffet being provided for a tour group dinner. As we were not a member of that tour group we declined and insisted on selecting our own meal, which resulted in menus being thrown on the table in front of us. Staff attitude in the dining room needs a lot of improvement!
- AHZambia (6/5): Big but outdated room - Our birdwatching group stayed here for 2 nights. The entrance hall is very grand but the bedroom I was in was very outdated, and the curtains were not big enough to close across the vast window. If you are a vegetarian the buffet selection is pretty rubbish even though it might look like there is a lot - salad leaves, cheese and bread and cake and fruit were all I found
- 588ivarn (6/5): Enormous - Located in its own park this hotel sports a grand lobby, enormous rooms and a range of services. The room was a bit run down though, and the food in the restaurant mediocre. A very noisy party dominated the evening. Personally I prefer a smaller hotel with more character.

- Fahima (9/5): Highly highly recommended. - One of the most peaceful and scenic beautiful resorts I’ve ever stayed in. I’ll miss this place. Couldn’t find any ramp which could be wheel chair friendly. A ramp could be introduced for ease of moving luggage’s and for elderly people.
- Vardanyan (8/5): Good for family - Good place to spend time with family and kids. The mattress was a little rough for me. Toothpaste and soap were not good, other than that everything was good
- arm0ndv (6/5): Hotel Dilijan Resort - Hotel Dilijan Resort is a nice and friendly hotel to stay for a night or two. The only issue that we noticed was the lack of an air conditioner and the bathroom was too small to move around; though, the room was very specious and had a separate seating area. The balcony was a nice touch since the weather at night during summer months is great. It also offered full daily breakfast which was included in the room rate.
- Christopher (9/5): Superb - The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming
- Khachatur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moff (7/5): nice big room - Big spacious room
Nice balcony with view into the forest Didn't provide lunch (although booked and included in room rate). They just say 'no'.
Noisy construction work. High additional costs for wellness, such like sauna
- Hovhannes (7/5): Good - Staff Room design and decor

- Okhuozuhilwen (8/5): Very good - The scene
- Nona (9/5): Superb -
- Пламен (7/5): Good - Inaccessible entrance due to a big staircase not adapted for people with walking disabilities. Cars were also diverted and didn’t stop in front of the hotel. The breakfast was quite underwhelming.

- Mal1960 (8/5): 1980s style but very comfortable - What an interesting hotel. Set in parkland, the late Soviet era hotel is enormous. Comfortable and very large rooms. Very bizarre design with lifts stopping between floors rather than on floors so you need to walk up or down to reach your room
Highlight though was the included dinner and breakfast. Never ending quality food from soups, salads, meats and vegetables and onto great dessert. Way too much for any human to eat so I hope the leftovers went somewhere!
Only negative was pretty woeful internet. They need to add routers in each room or nearby.

- Edgar (8/5): Very good -
- Azat (8/5): Very good -
- Kunal (1/5): Bad - Just the potato bread Hospitality, rudeness of receptionist, staff, unkind, giving a kitchen but no kitchen utensils, being very stingy with the water, we literally slept thirsty. Rude reception denied us lunch outrightly. Rude receptionist told it is better if we get the room key back to recpetion. The hotel staff dropped the food when coming inside (which was okay, it was a mistake), she then dropped the steak on our floor for the dog outside to eat, we had a huge number of ants all throughout the night. The kettle was really dirty which wasted our 2 bottles and they didn't acknowledge telling us it cannot be (like I am dumb).
No coffee tea sachets at all in the room.
While eating breakfast I was interrupted to make my payment for last night dinner.
Dead flies in all our rooms
The steak ordered was burnt.
Never going to visit absolutely and recommending to see other properties
- Arsen (9/5): Superb -
- Narek (10/5): Super helpful staff, amazing location, great value for money - Excellent location (on the hill of a green mountain), the rooms are spacious (doubles come with large balconies that open to the mountain), have comfortable beds, kettle and all stuff needed for a proper rest. They offer various SPA services, have an indoor pool and kids playground (both indoor and outdoor) which came very handy as we travelled with our kid. The staff is very helpful, they offered us the conference room for free! The lunch had vegan options. The facilities are a bit worn out, not that it’s an issue. We’d like to have more vegan options for the breakfast.
- Goar (10/5): Exceptional - vary good lavlly
- SeattleRoger (6/5): Blah, made even worse by design - An average place. Very large, oddly large rooms a few pieces of furniture here and there. At the same time, small bathroom. Approach to entrance is via some 25-30 stairs. No railings. Good luck. Elevators stop between floors, so you have to walk up or down a flight of stairs to get to your room. Who knows what designers were thinking, if anything. Unless you’re stuck here as part of a tour, find another place.
- tulliame (8/5): Soviet style but cool - Very big hotel in soviet style with huge rooms and restautants. Dinner very good.
We were alone and it seemes to live in the movie shining......
Green park all arround, cozy swimming pool with jacuzzi.
In some areas they should renew something but for one night it’s ok.
The puttanesca spaghetti at dinner was a gentle gift to us italians but served cold is like a fist on one eye.....
After all i advise this hotel to everybody
- Zara_Tavadyan (6/5): Needs imrovement - Location and area are wonderful, but otherwise the hotel is very average. The food was not tasty, cleaning is bad,. I discovered dirty cups on the shelf and the shower was unpleasant. Also the staff is not very friendly. The hotel has potential but overall it needs some renovation and better staff.
- 245pragneshs (6/5): New year holiday - We spent here 3night , hotel build in big campus,
But need to renovate rooms and all. Staff are good.
We are vegetarian and for that we had a problem with food even informed them in advanced.fitness centre is not in proper working condition.
- 775nanam (2/5): Bad customer service bad food worst Wi-Fi ever bad behavior towards the customers - We had called to the receptionist and asked whether the price is going to be changed after we have ordered a room for three of people and they said no and the price include the third person when we came from yerevan and wanted to take the room the receptionist told that we have to pay extra 10,000 gShe told it for the third person will we need to pay that amount of money when we asked that we were told that we called her and asked about it she told refused to answer she told that it is not possible because she works here for five years and she couldn’t told us that. when we asked whether they have the recording of the call she told that it is a home phone called can’t provide it because I don’t have that and after we had to pay that because we took a long week here and we took for two days after when we went to pool the pool was cold and we couldn’t swim at all but the price included it and then when we came here the room was cold after we told them they told that they have fixed. Wi-Fi wasn’t working two and when I asked they told that the only works in the reception and I asked whether in the description there’s nothing between there she told that Wi-Fi wasn’t working too and when I asked they told that the five fight only works in the reception and I asked whether white in the description there’s nothing between there she told where does the description written and she didn’t know that at all and when I ask oh that we’re winning we knew that there is Wi-Fi in the room she told that in some places to buy fight is not free and people have to pay for them to have the Wi-Fi in the rooms and when I asked do I have to pay do you have that I told that no they don’t have any Wi-Fi in the rooms but the speed is normal and she has a mobile Internet and she has a need a Wi-Fi connection in her phone so so should we so we don’t do not have that because we’re not in the reception
- Dionges1 (6/5): Nice Location, But the Rooms and Furniture Need Updating - Small group touring the Caucasus stopped one night from Georgia on the way to Yerevan. Hotel and the town date back to the Soviet era and the infrastructure in the town and surrounding areas appeared to be stuck back in time, unlike some of the other towns in Armenia and Yerevan. Evening buffet was adequate and the breakfast buffet was good. A small bar for drinks. Had one problem--lock on my room door would not lock, and it took a while for a maintenance worker to come to the room and to fix it. Once he did arrive, was fixed very quickly. Odd orientation of the elevator to the floors--elevator would stop at a landing, between floors (I was in Room 609) and you would have to go up a half-flight of stairs for the 6th floor or go down a half-flight of stairs to the 5th floor. My room aned hotel common areas were very clean.
- AAtraveler50 (2/5): Extremely bad management and disgusting attitude toward to visitors - I was staying from September 13th till 16th at this hotel and I was quiet shocked the way they were treating their visitors. The managements and serving staff has very different attitude towards to their guests. If you are foreign visitors then your might get normal attitude and service but if you are local Armenian than you get zero service, despite you are paying the same price like any other foreign tourists. We paid for twin room and there were no water in the room. I asked for a small bottle of water, which they should have provided in the first place they told me that if i am thirsty than i have to use bathroom tab. In the room there were no drinking water, kettle, tea or coffee but there were tea cups and water glass. When the drinking water in Armenia is free and the drinking fountains are everywhere. We arrived late afternoon and there are no shops around the hotel and we needed to take some medications. After 2 stressful telephone conversation with the receptionist, they categorically refused to give us glass of water to drink, than the toilet was not flushing properly, we had to insist them to fix it. They didn't provide tea, coffee or drinking water for breakfast or dinner. We had to ask for it. They told us that they dont display in the restaurant unless any guests ask for it. Which is disgusting attitude. At the end on my last day when i was complaining to the reception, they told me that the owner of this hotel is from Yerevan and he ordered the staff not to provide water, coffee or tea for locals (Armenians). When i told them that i will make a complain in my return to London, they told me that I should have told them that i was from London than they would have provide me much better service, and they will include small bottle of water in my room. Shame on their managements, million time shame to this Hotel's staff who think they have right to discriminate any one, especially any paid guest, locals or foreign. Shame, shame shame. I will never go back to that hotel and i will never encourage anyone to pay their services when they are discriminating their own people. We paid very high price but they didn't provide simple service or care. Shame on their hotel owner and managements.
- GalinaM906 (8/5): Location makes hotel better - If this hotel wasn’t near absolutely gorgeous scenery, it would have gotten three stars. But because it is where it is - I appreciate it more.
We had a large group of people, and because the main hotel was sold out, we rented two cottages with 4 bedrooms, 2 baths in each. Rooms were big and spacious. The mattress was pretty much nonexistent. One with bad back would not appreciate it. It was pretty cold inside too. We couldn’t find a thermostat anywhere. Also, no coffee in the kitchen (there is a decent kitchen in the living room)(there is a big living room). Please help yourselves get better ratings and put coffee makers in all rooms and kitchens.
Overall, it was alright. I would stay in the cottage on vacation again with coffee, heat and a mattress.
- RevARider2016 (6/5): Interesting! - A group of 26 of us were travelling around Armenia so the travel company had to book us larger hotels.
And on arrival at the Dilizhan Resort Hotel when confronted with a Soviet Era building the first thought was ‘this will be interesting’
That remained the thought throughout, the food was average, the coffee poor, the pool cloudy and cold.
The bar was well stocked and chilled beer glasses were great given the hot weather.
It’s a good 20 minute walk to the heart of town, the hotel being located in the forest with good views, but this town and the hotel would benefit from investment. The obvious wealth gap between here and Yerevan is huge.
I’d visit again because apart from the cloudy pool nothing was wrong with the hotel. But I would hope my money would help aid redevelopment.
- fazlur87 (8/5): Hotel Dilijan Resort in the foothill of Dilijan National Park, Armenia - 1. Hotel Dilijan Resort is located beside the hill with a lot of walking areas around the hotel. This Hotel is next to UWC College, Dilijan.
2. The reception area is big and well decorated. There is always an English speaking lady at the Reception. She is very helpful and smilingly provides all sorts of information
3. Rooms are quite big with attached Bathroom. Comfortable bedding. A private balcony at the back of the room with two chairs and one table. You can enjoy coffee there and also smoke! The open-air restaurant with a tarpaulin roof in front of the hotel is an excellent place to enjoy time with friends and family.
4. Double bed with two people including buffet breakfast and buffet lunch for two is USD 80 per day.
5. Buffet dinner (USD 10 per person). is from 8:00 PM to 10 PM. If you take ala-carte after 10:00 PM, it would cost around USD 5 per person. Both options are equally good.
6. Local transportation by Taxi with 2/3 Km distance is very cheap (approx. USD 1). You may ask Reception to call taxi and Taxi will be there within 5 minutes. INNA Shopping mall is approx. 1 KM from the Hotel (you may even walk or hire a taxi.). The mall has a wide range of essential goods that you need for daily living.
- Nar007 (6/5): the place has gone down the hill - Hotel Dilijan resort was really nice hotel approximately a year ago, but withing a year it has gone down the hill.
We were staying in the hotel in 2018 and it was good. In 2019 it is average with lots of issues. We stayed in the cottages.
The food, especially the room service has gone down considerably.
The maintenance has gone down as well, we constantly did not have hot water and each time we were assured that it has been fixed , but it was not.
We had ants in the main room, which were spreading. And when complaint to the receptionist / actually head receptionist, she said that it is a forest , so what do you expect. And she was not joking. her name is Rosa.
Again no apologies for us not having hot water and not even offering to move us to another cottage. Considering we were paying £200 pounds per night for a cottage, which is quite a lot for Armenia, one would expect a bit better service and conditions.
The receptionist did not have any conception customer service and "that client is always right" and one just needs to apologies.
She never apologized for our inconvenience, just argued and frowned and rolled up her eyes. Never seen such unprofessional individual for a long time :))
Unfortunately, at the best, it is now just a very average place with bad service.
- pghs67 (8/5): Comfortable stay - I had a huge comfortable room. The breakfast buffet was good with tasty treats. It was very quiet and the surroundings beautiful. Everyone was accommodating. I didn't have any problems and recommend staying there.
- bestnotes (10/5): Professional and friendly - Very convenient and spectacular location. Huge building with all services - restaurant, spa, gym, pool, playground, wifi. Excellent service, very friendly staff. Clean and cosy large rooms with nice views. Reach breakfast and tasty food.
