Guest Reviews
- Pat (6/5): - The room was clean, if a bit cluttered. It could have been made more comfortable with a bench for the microwave and jug. The owner was very pleasant, helpful and easy to deal with. The tea and coffee facilities left a lot to be desired. Power boards attached to the wall would have looked better. The bed was comfortable except for the protective plastic left on it. A washable mattress topper would have helped with this. The toilet and shower were down steep stairs. This is ok if you're young and agile, but were in our late 70's and found them a bit hard to deal with. Given a choice, I wouldn't stay there again.
- Lexi (3/5): This is a share house - not a hotel!!!!!!! - The location was great, super central to the city. This is falsely advertised!! This room is a room in a share house and you stay with the resident. The bathroom, toilet and kitchen facilities are all shared. This was not clearly advertised. The room was fine, however getting in and out of the townhouse was difficult, the check in process was not clear and the house had a weird smell. The stairs to get to and from the room are borderline the steepness of a ladder. Additionally, the room felt chucked together last minute, with items chucked anywhere possible eg. a kettle on your bedside table. The mattress also needs to be replaced. My friend had a spring poke her in the leg which was sticking out of the mattress and very rusty. I would not recommend.
- Lorraine (5/5): I arrived later than I expected, the owner was okay. - Location and I could get in on a day's notice.
Bathroom okay Couldn't work TV,
- Jane (7/5): Great location, helpful management - The location (distance from where I needed to be, and the other ammenities (pub, cafe)) were fab, as were the people running it. They were available and helpful. The stairs to the room were very steep for me. I really struggled.
- Tang (2/5): Bad - No in-room bathroom, not even a wash basin! Only one room to rent out in a private property. Had to stay and share facilities including toilet with owner, which is a weird couple. Property had anti demon relics all over. Scary!
- Martins (10/5): - The service and employees exceed
- Shweta (4/5): Disappointing - The location was convenient. It was a house that two bedrooms there was clutter everywhere, the bedroom was not clear. The shower was broken and spitting water everywhere, everything was dark and there was a smell. The main living area was filled with boxed and furniture and personal items. It was better suited to be an airbnb, and not a booking.com accommodation.
- Miraluna (8/5): Amazing holiday - The Host is friendly and accomodating.Location is perfect
- Mcpartland (1/5): Do not book here - Nothing as I was denied physical aceess to my booking despite having paid and confirmed on Booking.com app. Owners inability to follow Booking.com rules or acknowledge Booking.com booking.
- Wesley (9/5): We will certainly consider staying at Central of Sydney again. Linda made us feel like family. - Not fancy or "5 Star," but the location in the middle of Darlinghurst was fabulous, and it was wonderful to be staying with real Sydneysiders in their own home. instead of a boring beige hotel room. Our hostess, Linda was very welcoming and gave us some good tips about Sydney, as well as sharing a little of her own personal journey. The steep stairs in Linda's heritage listed little cottage are rather challenging. Carpeting might make them a bit easier and safer.
- Vicky (1/5): Disturbing and uncomfortable. - Nothing. Photos on booking.com are misleading. Untidy, dirty and smelly including the bedroom. Host was not friendly and did not show me where the toilet and bathroom was. Also no tea or coffee in room. Plugs and wires everywhere. Unsafe makeshift stairs. Unclean bed sheets and ants in the bed. Definitely not worth the cost. This property should not be advertised as decent accommodation. Giving booking.com a bad reputation. I have booked multiple accommodations through booking.com over many years and all have been extremely clean and comfortable. This place is an abomination so therefore I am requesting a full refund. I also strongly suggest the place is inspected for safety and health reasons.
- Elias (7/5): Good - - very convenient location
- very responsive host
- all amenities including fridge and microwave are in the room which is very useful
- very playful cat in the property which sometimes came into your bedroom - could be seen as a good or bad thing depending on if you’re a cat person - quite steep stairs up to the room might be difficult for some people to navigate
- Anyan (1/5): Bad -
- Matthew (9/5): Superb - Friendly and accommodating host in a great location.
Cute and friendly cat.
- Pellegrinaggio (10/5): Belinda is such a great friendly and helpful host - Belinda was so kind ,helpful and accommodating..she was waiting for me checked in 23.15pm.. I would absolutely stay here again ! thanks Belinda can not staying longer
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good -
- Darius (10/5): Felt at home - Linda was very helpful and accommodating. Centrally located. Good value for money.
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Iperblue (4/5): Disappointed. Better to avoid - The location is central, a quiet area near nice cafes and very close to the botanical garden and the Opera house.
The cat and the dog are very sweet. I am sorry to say this but this is useful for future travelers. I was deceived by the positive reviews. I believe that to rent a room on booking.com there must be some minimum requirements. The room is inside a private house where two people live, a dog and a cat. It is possible to rent a room in your own home but the common areas must always be kept extremely clean and organized because the guest must feel at ease and this was not the case (common spaces were often not clean and they are full of personal and messy stuff). There are 4 aquariums at the entrance and there is a strong unpleasant smell, all around the house. The bed was very noisy and it felt broken, the bedsheets were like bedsheets of a kids room and there were also some hair in it, only white sheets should be used for tourists. Only one small towel was provided. I was out of the accommodation as much as possible, I only went there to sleep, because I didn't feel at ease. The stairs to the room was so steep and dangerous. There is absolutely no point in spending so much money on such accommodation. I don't think you should rent on booking.com.
- Sheryl (1/5): absolutely disgusting - nothing this property was dirty smelly and completely sub standard not fit for accommodation
- Rob (8/5): Very good -
- Donna (10/5): Felt really comfortable and welcomed I highly recommend Linda's stay - Linda's place was a lovely stay .They were extremely friendly and kind .. Linda was soo kind to share her wonderful cooking with me knowing I was unwell..and it was so yummy.. . thku soo much guys xx Not being able to stay longer
- Pimnipa (8/5): Very good -
- Dr (10/5): Perfect stay for a city break - The host Belinda is very friendly and helpful. I arrived quite late in the evening, she stayed up to make sure that the check-in was as smooth as possible. The location is very central, with all major attractions within walking distance. I visited the Sydney Opera House three times a day, this shows how convenient the location is.
